In addition to the revolutionary Vamoose control technology where a safe but effective fly repellent is bound the rug fabric, Horseware has also used extensive new research on the use of colour as a natural deterrent for insects. Most of us are aware that insects are drawn to certain odours and are repelled by others. Recent studies have discovered that they feel the same way about certain colours and in turn, their behaviour can be influenced by colour. Insects are naturally attracted to bright colours such as yellow, white or dark colours resembling hide or rumps. However, colours like light green or aqua mixed with orange won’t register when seen in the UV spectrum, deterring insects away from these coloured objects. These colours lack visibility on the UV spectrum and discourage insects from landing there. Horseware is very excited about its new Amigo@ Vamoose Evolution rug which uses this latest colour research in the pattern colourway and has paired it with our patented and unwavering Vamoose insect control technology offering the ultimate in fly protection this season. Discipline: Endurance Horse: Horseware Sasha D’alais (Sasha) It’s no surprise that our top pick is our very own CEO who will be competing on the first day of the game, riding the 10-year-old gelding Horseware Sasha D’Alais. Tom, at the age of 67, will surely be one of the oldest competitors in the games. Just five years ago, he started endurance riding and last year he finished 11th in the European Championships and we have no doubt he is hungry for more. One thing is for sure, we will all be there cheering him and Sasha around the 180km course.

Discipline: Eventing Horse: Horseware Hale Bob (Bobby) All eyes will be on Ingrid and “Bobby” to see if she can do the treble. An eventing legend, the partnership finished 2017 on a major high claiming individual Gold at the European’s so no surprise she will go into the games as one of the favourites. Always citing her father’s motto of “ride for your own delight”, Klimke is one of the most down to earth competitors on the circuit with a true love for Bobby and the rest of her horses. We cannot wait to see how they get on.

The 2017 World Cup Championship winner and his mount HH Azur (Annie) will no doubt be coming out all guns blazing on home soil at WEG in September. McLain, having never won an individual medal at the World Equestrian Games will keep his eye on the prize with his extremely talented mare. McLain, having competed at Tryon previously, has a slight advantage against the other competitors. We would love to see McLain and Annie on that podium.
An icon in his own right, Carl Hester is one of the most competitive Dressage riders in the world. With numerous medals from the Olympic Games, World Championships, European Championships and World Cups; we have no doubt Tryon will be no different. After a Team Silver in Normandy, “Barney” and Carl will lead Team GBR into Tryon with the podium in sight.

The fibres in the fabric have been chemically treated to incorporate an anti-bacterial chemical which inhibits the growth of microorganisms, helping elevate odour. Perfect for high pressure competition. REVERSIBLE
UV Protection The clothing is produced from a fabric rated for its level of ultraviolet (UV) protection. Standard summer fabrics have UPF ~6 but sun protective clothing typically has UPF ~30. Sun protective clothing is usually meant to be worn during warm and humid weather and some UV-blocking textiles and clothing may be designed with ventilated weaves, moisture wicking and antibacterial properties to assist in cooling and breathability.
