Diagnosis: Medial Meniscus Extrusion
Medial meniscus extrusion is easily identified on ultrasound as triangle-shaped tissue extending beyond the margin of the medial compartment.
Meniscus extrusion suggests underlying meniscal tear which may not be visualized sonographically.
Associated degenerative changes such as adjacent marginal osteophyte formation may also be seen.
