FROM MY DESK... Forgive me, but I was delayed for many important reasons, after all we can’t rush perfection. AboutUS is about to complete its 50th issue, it gives us great satisfaction to be here with you, thinking about our next issues, always thriving to bring you the best information, with relevance and objective view of our community business and social gatherings. Orlando is one of the world’s preferred touristic destination. This factor generates not only jobs and revenue but also dictates how other industries are affected by related business such as real estate, transportation, local restaurants and retail. It is an infinite chain of command and we are lucky enough to have it. Just think of the enormous progress Orlando has achieved in the past few years. In the same segment, every year, we have the pleasure to photograph KONTIK Jovem. It has been a great journey for the last five years and we enjoy the opportunity to interact and learn so much with a young generation. This year as usual they opened the Season in Orlando, celebrating 60 years . We have some of the highlights of this great Happening. This month we welcome Dr. Barusco to AboutUS. He is our cover, and will be also writing articles about his work. We also have a contribution piece by J.Marinheiro about a Global visit to Orlando. It is all inside, waiting for you. I think this reflects a bit on my actress side, because when I am in Orlando I am home. I even joked that everyone chooses the princess they want and I elected Miss Piggy (Muppet’s Babies) as my princess.
HS: Have you been to the USA before, which places? FK: I've been to the USA to do shows, I've done the entire east coast. I've been to New York many times, to Cape Cod because I have friends in Massachusetts, despite the cold weather the reception is always warm from all my friends, but here (in Orlando) I go back to being a child, an adult in a land which I think is only mine, the land of fairy tales.
FK: I love to travel. We just returned from a trip where I celebrated with Bruno in Curacao, the Antilles, as we were invited by the Minister of Tourism. Since March 26 was our wedding anniversary and I was working so much we accepted this trip as a second honeymoon, so we went, Bruno and I exchanged rings and we have been together for six years, five of them married.
HS: How the duet in Kissing Chubby-Beijo da Gordinha happened? How did you end up directing the duo's Bruno and Camilo video? FK: Bruno is a musician, formed in Uruguay, after closing his restaurant he moved to Brazil to live with me, the music ended up slightly to the side, but he kept contact with friends, in closed groups, then he awakened this desire when a friend composer brought a song, he invited friends and then a band and we ended up making a clip where I directed, but I loved the experience and made with the greatest affection in the world.
So I love it here and I go to Miami, of course, to enjoy the sun a little and to have fun, dance a little. Miami, for me, has the party appeal. Orlando has a strong family side, guaranteed fun. I just miss the girls (my daughters Beatrice and Laura).
HS: When would you like to come back?
FK: Whenever I can I'm here because Orlando is an old flame and forever will be my passion.
HS: What are your expectations with the show Medida Certa? FK: The best possible, so I can motivate people wherever I go. Right here in Orlando whomever passes by me is already motivated. I walked around Disney, and the people said, "I will follow up with you, I will download the application." Because there is a Medida Certa application and I am very happy to be the spokeswoman, the godmother, to be a vehicle of this wave of health in Brazil. We're not planting weight loss, we are planting health and exercises. I have a wonderful guru - Atala, there is no better than him, I think this shows him. azil + Tailgate Party=Success! By Definition: A tailgate party is a social event held on and around the open tailgate of a vehicle. Tailgating, which originated in the United States, often involves consuming alcoholic beverages and grilling food. Tailgate Parties are not a Brazilian tradition, but when soccer became popular and Brazilians love soccer, the American tradition popular at pre football games was adopted fast! And the responsible for this attitude is the Orlando City Soccer. Every game that happens on weekends is a reason for enjoyment, tailgate parties at the fields around the Citrus Bowl Stadium, kids playing, live music, but nobody can produce a better tailgate party than Nelson. He wakes up early, he doesn’t believe in hot-dogs and burgers, so gets the meats prepared in advance, lets all friends and clients know and the churrasco starts early;
Nelson’s Tailgate party brings BOIBRAZIL employees, friends, clients, visitors, The Ruckus, some of the Lion’s players, everyone is welcome and happy to be there. Maybe we’ll see you next time, and have some great food and fun. Where Brazilians are, there is happiness and great food. See you Next Time!
GO LIONS! On the pictures, Nelson the guy on the red shirt, with friends, family, the Ruckus, some employees and visitors.

Go Lions! And look who we found before the game. Teddy Bear the Saint Bernard with Brett Schullman and Bella Chartrand. Teddy Bear is a success and was at the game to show his love for the Lions. He is a huge fan! GO LIONS!
The never ending Orlando City emotion. Every game, every move is a heartbeat. Soccer is the biggest sport in Brazil, but for many reasons is being neglected and it invaded America, it is here in Florida, with KAKA’ and Pedrinho to make us scream and have a chance to feel the same way we felt back home. The Orlando City is our pride, our moment of joy, that grew and is part of many lives, here in Orlando and Brazil.

The Houston Airport System (HAS) has been granted a Launch Site License from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that enables Ellington Airport (EFD) to establish itself as a launch site for Reusable Launch Vehicles (RLV), making it the 10th commercial spaceport in the United States.
"Houston has been at the forefront of aviation history and innovation for decades," Houston Aviation Director Mario C. Diaz said. "Not only does this opportunity reinforce an already long-established connection with the aerospace industry, it offers Houston an opportunity to strengthen its reputation as a forward-looking city and leader in creating high-tech, next-generation type jobs."
Nearly two years after Houston City Council members gave their overwhelming support for the project, the FAA's formal approval opens the door for plans that could see Ellington Airport become a focal point for aerospace operations, such as the launching of micro satellites, astronaut training, zero gravity experimentation, spacecraft manufacturing and a host of other potential activities.

Orange County Celebrates New Holden Heights Community Center
Mayor Jacobs was joined by Orange County District 6 Commissioner Victoria P. Siplin at the event hosted by Orange County’s Family Services Department and the Community Action Division. In addition to being a gathering place for Holden Heights and the surrounding communities, the center will provide programs to assist and educate low-income individuals and support families on their journey to self-sufficiency. More than 300 community partners and guests attended the grand opening event. “With the grand opening of this beautiful building, and thanks to the wonderful resources and staff available to our Holden Heights citizens, this new center will be a catalyst for so many good things,” Mayor Jacobs said. “Not only will it provide computer skills, financial management assistance and eventually a playground, but it is a place to build relationships, and noth-
ing is more transforming than the relationships we have with each other.” The Community Action Division will provide job training, social service programs, vocational training and youth and senior programs. Several on-site partners will also assist with the division’s holistic approach to self-sufficiency, through referrals on issues such as child care, housing and crisis assistance.
The Month in Orange County Florida
Mayor Teresa Jacobs recently joined community leaders at the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Orange County’s new Holden Heights Community Center.
“This center helps make a change in the lives of the local Holden Heights community,” said Sherry Paramore, Community Action Division manager. “The technology, services and capabilities we have here will support them in their journey to become self-sufficient.”
The new 10,500-square-foot facility includes education rooms, outdoor lakeside areas, offices, a computer lab, small breakout rooms, and a large multipurpose space that can accommodate large events for special occasions. The center replaces a smaller, 30-year-old neighborhood facility that will be demolished with the eventual expansion of the I-4 Ultimate project.
“When we seek progress, it takes a collective commitment,” Commissioner Siplin said. “It takes all of us working together – business, government, residents – to bring about the progress that we seek.” Prior to Commissioner Siplin taking office in December 2014, Orange County Clerk of Courts Tiffany Moore Russell represented the Holden Heights area, serving two terms as District 6 Commissioner. “It’s been over 10 years that we have talked about this new building, and to see it all come together so beautifully, wow, it’s unbelievable. We are ecstatic,” Center Manager Claudette Grubbs said. “We will be able to accommodate more young people, more seniors. We have so many things already planned.” “A glass sculpture that will transmit and reflect colors on the walls is planned for the atrium and was chosen from more than 80 entries from artists around the country,” said Terry Olson, director of Orange County Arts and Cultural Affairs. Other elected officials who attended the event included Clerk Moore Russell, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings, Tax Collector Scott Randolph, Ninth Judicial Circuit Public Defender Robert Wesley, Orange County Public School Board Member Kathleen “Kat” Gordon, City of Orlando Commissioner Samuel Ings, City of Winter Garden Commissioner Bobby Olszewski and City of Winter Park Commissioner Thomas McMacken.

The $4.2 million center located at 1201 20th Street took a year to construct and was financed with county capital funding and federal grant money. The $900,000 the state paid to buy the former building for I-4 expansion was applied to the project.
Mayor Teresa Jacobs delivered the 2015 State of the County Address to more than 750 Orange County citizens, community leaders, elected officials and special guests at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on June 12. During her 25-minute speech, Mayor Jacobs reflected on the historic achievements of her first term in office realized through partnership and collaboration, and announced a new initiative that will enhance Orange County’s future as a great American community. “The state of Orange County’s economy is strong,” Mayor Jacobs said. “By working together, we are creating history.” Mayor Jacobs’ capstone announcement outlined a proposal for one of the largest capital investment projects in the history of Orange County, a $300 million initiative called INVEST in Our Home for Life. The funds will be spent on roads, parks, pedestrian safety projects, public and fire safety facilities and affordable family housing in Orange County.

INVEST in Our Home for Life will be funded through existing resources thanks to conservative budgeting and an improving economy, not through increased taxes. “To build a vibrant economy where creativity, innovation and opportunity will flourish, we need to invest now in the infrastructure that future generations will need,” Mayor Jacobs said. “From efficient roads to a healthy environment, it’s our job and our responsibility to invest wisely.”
In The State of the County speech, Mayor Jacobs outlined robust industries that have helped Orange County largely overcome the serious economic concerns of eight years ago. A record-breaking 62 million visitors in 2014 confirms Orlando as a premier global destination, she said, thanking tourism and travel leaders and recognizing the impact of this vitally important economic sector, which supports one out of every three jobs.

Jacobsen, 32, is the co-founder Artistic Director of innovative NY-based orchestral collective The Knights. Hailed by The New York Times as “an interpretive dynamo,” he has built a reputation for engaging audiences with innovative and collaborative projects. He tours frequently as a member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble, and is also a founding member of genre-defying string quartet Brooklyn Rider. Jacobsen will serve as the Orlando Philharmonic’s artistic leader and primary conductor beginning in 2015-2016.
During the 2014-2015 season, the Orlando Philharmonic’s Music Director search engaged thousands of community members, including orchestra musicians, audience members, community leaders, volunteers, staff and members of the orchestra’s board, who were invited to participate in events and submit feedback. Jacobsen spent two weeks auditioning with the Orlando Philharmonic this winter, conducting two public concerts and meeting with various constituencies. City of Orlando Installs New Bike Repair Stations Keeping Orlando moving continues to be a priority for the City of Orlando. By providing multi-modal forms of transportation, those who live, work and play in Orlando have a variety of options for getting around the City. Part of this effort includes the City’s commitment to investing and improving our biking amenities. Currently, Orlando is home to more than 300 miles of urban bicycling trails, signed routes and lanes and has been a designated Bicycle Friendly Community since 2000. In the past year the City has: • Added more wayfinding signage for cyclists at intersections high-use corridors like Delaney Avenue, Highland Avenue and Summerlin Avenue. • Completed the Orlando Primary Bicycle Route Study which identified preferred corridors to close existing gaps in the overall trail network.
• Launched a bike rack request program to allow businesses to request a bike rack to be installed in front of their business. To further this effort, the City has installed four bike repair stations at strategic locations throughout the City to accommodate commuter and recreational cyclists in Orlando. The repair stations feature an air pump and set of tools so that cyclists have a convenient place to perform basic bike repairs or maintenance without the need to go to a bicycle shop or return home. The stations will allow riders to do things like pump up their tires, fix a flat or adjust their bike seat.

Rick Singh, Orange County Property Appraiser, Rolls Out New "Green" Fleet At a fun-filled event on Church Street near the Amway Center, Rick Singh, Orange County Property Appraiser (OCPA) unveiled 30 new Toyota Prius vehicles which will now be used by field staff members as they travel Orange County appraising 439,676 parcels. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Chris Zaworski, Director for Enterprise Fleet Management, Britt Watty, Account Development Manager for Enterprise Fleet Management, and Thomas Hoang, District Training Manager for Southeast Toyota Distributors, joined Mr. Singh in the announcement.
Mayor Dyer , OCPP Rick Singh, City Commissioner-Regina Hill, African American Chamber of Commerce President John F. Davis.
The sustainable fleet is part of the Orange County Property Appraiser’s commitment to positively managing its impact on the environment and community. Each new Prius will offer significantly better fuel economy and lower emissions than many employees’ personal vehicles. Up until today, employees used their personal vehicles and then submitted for reimbursement from the agency for mileage driven in their personal vehicles. “Transitioning to an agency-owned fleet advances our sustainability efforts and reduces the wear and tear on our employees’ personal vehicles,” said Rick Singh, Orange County Property Appraiser. “OCPA employees need safe and reliable transportation to conduct their work throughout Orange County. This is a smart long-
term investment in our employees, and in the health of our community.” The move to using the Hybrid Synergy Drive ® Prius also saves tax dollars. The vehicle combines an electric motor with a gasoline engine. They work either together or separately to move the car in the most energy-efficient way. Over the next 10 years, taxpayers will realize a savings of nearly $779,000.
“This approach to field appraiser’s duties is a first for the OCPA and clearly shows a savings in tax dollars along with concern for our customers who will have the security of knowing the vehicle at their door or business is indeed that of an OCPA appraiser because of the vehicle’s markings,” said Singh. Enterprise Fleet Management will provide vehicle registration and a fuel card program that automatically monitors fuel purchases and miles for each vehicle. The OCPA will also use Enterprise Telematics, a web-based application that helps manage fleet operations with real time diagnostic and location data to optimize fleet use, routing, logistics, engine diagnostics and safety. Once the vehicles
have reached the optimum point in their lifecycle, Enterprise will leverage its remarketing expertise to auction and resell the vehicles for the OCPA office.
According to Enterprise Fleet Management’s Britt Watty, “Reimbursing employees for mileage in their personal vehicles can be a strain on an organization’s time and financial resources. Losing your hair? Thinking about a hair transplant? You NEED to read this
Millions of men and women in the United States suffer from male and female pattern hair loss, the most common type of hair loss among the many in existence. Although not a “disease”, hair loss can negatively impact a person’s self-esteem.
So how can you avoid falling in the hands of inexperienced surgeons? It all starts with an understanding of the information that is out there. Invariably, nowadays the first line of information is the Internet. There is a wealth of good information online, but this is also a fertile ground for misinformation.
Medically speaking, male and female pattern hair loss are caused by a combination of genetics and hormones, which cause the hairs on the top of the scalp to become thinner, finer and eventually stop growing. Medical and surgical treatments are available for hair loss but only a qualified doctor is able to recommend the most adequate treatment.
In our Central Florida hair transplant offices we have had many patients come in for consultation that are confused between the terms FUE, NeoGraft, Artas and AlphaGraft. Unlike most of the other hair transplant practices in Central Florida we perform equally FUE and FUT (also known as the “strip” method) hair transplantation so we can offer unbiased information on both.
When it comes to hair transplants, they are the only permanent way to replace and fill areas where hairs have been lost. In simple terms, hair transplantation is the process of moving healthy, permanent hairs from the back and sides of the head into areas where hair is being lost. Once implanted in the balding areas, the new hairs will take root and start to grow just like they did before. Sounds simple, but it is not so.
Simply put, Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a method of harvesting donor hairs that involves removing individual follicular bundles from the back of the scalp with small 0.7-1.0mm circular punches. The incisions are so small that there is very little visibility of the scars after they heal. This technique offers advantages to some patients, but not for all.
Advances in techniques and technology have made hair transplantation much safer and the results much more natural. Still, hair transplantation is one of the most intricate and complex cosmetic procedures in existence, requiring experience and artistic ability from the doctor and the team of assistants required to perform it. However, the increased popularity of this procedure and the technological advances observed in the last few years have caused many doctors to start offering hair transplant procedures without having adequate training and without understanding the intricate aspects of this procedure. As a result, the number of corrective procedures we perform in our office has increased.

Artas was launched in 2011 as the first robotic hair transplant system. The system is sophisticated and utilizes an imageguided robotic arm to select and punch the follicular units from the donor area. Implants have to be extracted by hand after the robot cores them. Even with all automation and technology, an experienced hair restoration physician has to be present controlling the robot, and the margin of error of the robot may be large enough that sometimes surgeries have to be converted to manual extraction with other devices. So having the ARTAS system does not immediately offer a guarantee of quality to the doctor. The system is very expensive – approximately $250,000 – which increases cost for the practice, and the physician also has to pay $1.00 per attempted hair harvest to the manufacturers of the robot. All in all, it is a very expensive toy that really does not add anything to a hair transplant practice in terms of offering better procedures or less requirement of the surgeon’s time with the patient. In reality, “NeoGraft” is nothing more than the name of a device used by some doctors to perform FUE procedures. Think of it as a “Bosch” drill or a “Makita” drill. Same tools for the same job; just with different names. In fact, the “NeoGraft” device is hardly new or revolutionary. During the early days of hair transplantation, motorized punches were widely used to remove donor hairs and to create the recipient sites in the balding areas. At that time, a device known as “Calvitron” was developed in France by Dr. Pascal Boudjema, which combined an electric hand engine that powers a hollow circular punch and a suction system that sucks the hair graft into a container where the grafts are gathered for later implantation. The “NeoGraft” device uses the same platform, updated to use smaller punches. Our concern with this technology is that exposure to air flow during suction dries the hair implants very quickly, which can significantly impact their survival and growth. In addition, suction tears the tiny implant from the

Sempre me dediquei à música cristã.

My first instrument was the trumpet, which I had lessons since I was 9 years old, in a public school in Leblon, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. With this band, I did some presentations at the City Hall events, most of them being in a ceremony on the 23rd Military Police Battalion of Le blon.
Times were hard, our life was difficult. My family moved away and did not support us at all. It was faith that sustained me and strengthened me. It was in the worst moments that God demonstrated his love and care more intensively and when I could understand and live the gospel in practice.
At 11 years of age, I began studying piano parallel with the trumpet in the School of Music Villa Lobos, as I entered the church musicians group that attended with my mother, and the piano, unlike the trumpet, I could track alone, the church with hymns in the days of worship. I fell in love with piano, which became my main instrument to date, and discontinued the trumpet studies at age 14.
At times alone with God, I could hear his voice and receive his promise, many of which I'm living today. God chose others from different places to help us, old and new friends, with true love without expectation of receiving anything in return.
The faith in the gospel and my personal experiences with God helped me to interpret this moment and not lose our Although I was always 'inflamed' by chord with dissonanc- way. However, I believe that the difficulties I went through in life, led me to the love of music. Like the blues, which came from the corner of the American slaves who used melodies and lyrics to express their desire for freedom and a lighter life (laughs). My parents were separated and I was raised by my mother. My father was completely absent in the family context, though, we have always maintained a caring relationship and affection. When I was 11 years old, my mother faced some health problems and went through serious financial problems and many hardships. When I turned 16, my father was stricken by a violent cancer and died five months later, at age 51. My sister, ten years older, who was the only one working at the time, left us and went to live her own life and projects. My mother and I, came to depend on the support of the church and
shows especially in the gospel. While in Europe, the disk is having a great impact on radio stations in Spain, France, Germany, the UK and Portugal, in Brazil, radios don’t open to me. Not long ago, I received a response from a Brazilian radio saying: "- When we make a specific schedule for this style of music, we will contact you." They at least answered me (laughs). I think this is a reflection of an cultural era extremely fragile and weakened, not only in Christian music, but also in secular music and in all cultural segments. It is the result of a weakened society in culture and education. The people purchase what the industry says it is good, on the Internet and on television. I think this will only change when society culturally mature and apparently, with this social media generation' will not be a quick process. http://tinyurl.com/oed7ej3

I was raised in an evangelical Christian home. I am the grandson of Pastor JosĂŠ Cajazeiras Caldas, a pioneer in the Pentecostal movement in Brazil, which preached the Northeast in the early twentieth century. I think have an evangelistic and ministerial vein. Between 2008 and 2011, I coordinated a training project for leaders and Christian pastors in Rio de Janeiro, created by pastor and lecturer John C. Maxwell, where I was responsible for training about 5,000 Christian leaders. This brought me to a ministerial calling. Today, with the development of my life in music, I believe that in some way God wants to unite these two calls.
You had a career as a jazz performer and always dedicated this style to the Gospel? Faith and musicality? The release of my new CD, is my first experience with jazz. I have always dedicated myself to Christian music.
is always on hand to satisfy them. The worship of God, in essence, by the declaration of its attributes and values of the Gospel, was increasingly absent from the congregational songs. So I decided to do this album with a mission to lead listeners to a reunion with the most intense moments of their faith, with the recording of classics that have impacted the lives of thousands of people in Brazil and worldwide.
Do you think this style has reached a different audience, increasing the involvement of more people? Certainly. The Jazz and Bossa Nova are styles where the gospel is not yet very present, and I think important for admirers of these styles, you can hear the gospel and God's wonders in his 'musical language'.
I have received many messages of testimonials from people who have been blessed with the CD Reunion' . Some of these are away from the church Was there a moment in your career where you felt and said that listening to it they regained the feeling when they were with the gospel. the call to do what you do?
By Giuseppe Ranzini

Lima Filho e a curadora Suzana Meyer Garcia
