Silence Sensorial Place

First of all, my model is design regards to the elements of lines and shapes and the principles applied are form and grouping. It can be seen from the 2nd progress model I have made, I have try to use back the subtractive form from it and manipulated to a more interesting form. For the principle of grouping, I have use variety of trapezium and triangle shape to complete my design. As from the project 2, my banal action is leaning. Leaning have a different interpretation for me as it is an action without any body movement except for the brain. Our brain always tend to be thinking, wondering and I am using back the design intention of connectivity from project 2 by make my structure connect from each other. Timber is used to make the slanted wall so to fulfil the human ergonomic requirement within the structure. While leaning, our whole body mass was exerted on the designated structure hence a protective environment is designed to enhanced the safety on the structure. By viewing the plan, the structure tend to be enclose for the user to feel safe and protective.
03
For the sound sensorial experience, I tend to create a lonely and silence environment by using concrete as my main material. The reason that I have choose concrete as material because it is the best soundproof material and thickest among all the material. The grey scale tone provides a coolness surrounding. For skin contact sensorial experience, timber has chosen as the material for the slanted wall of direct leaning because of the organic feel, and it is the softest material among all. For visual part, I tend to evoke lonely emotion from the user. Sometimes we need to have a place for self reflect after socialize with others in our daily life. We have to know what we have achieve, satisfied, mistake & improvement had to be done.Natural lightning cast on the timber slanted wall and the internal part of seat leaning structure also have few slit of light goes indirectly to evoke the emptiness emotion deep in our heart. Self-comfort had achieved and user will be avoided from external distraction such as noise.

The Buo.athous Boathouse
06
07 Inspired by the silhoutte echo of water on lake, unique experience is created by locating the boathouse on lake to enhance the contact of visitor with the water. Natural element on the site was consider as an inspiration to have an unforgetable experience for user. The initial concept of this boathouse is to have a pre-interpretation if kayaking activities for user. During kayaking, we enjoy the breeze & the unrestricted path, hence this concept has beeen applied & translated into the design of this boathouse for user to feel it, and explore it.

During 1945s post Japanese colonial period, Japanese Army surrender, Banjar ethic group was incited by Japanese to Massacre the Chinese by burning their house. British colonial start, stir up the confrontation with slogan 'divide & rule'. Banjar attack Parit Jawa's Chinese by 22 August 1945. Anti Chinese Movement was form during the period. By 1950, new village settlement created during British Colonial period. The purpose of the formation of settlement was to segregate Chinese community from united with other ethnic group. New village was gated under British surveillance due to influence of Malayan Communist Party. Besides, different job opportunities was provided by ethnic based to prevent citizens from uniting.

Design concept of my project is connection by perception. Division of 2 main user groups, local and visitor. The HIC evokes local's social memory about how incident happened in past, and those incident was buried underground as reminder for the next generation - inheritance of historical value. Visitor from outside able to understand Parit Jawa's history in depth, hence bringing out the importance of appreciation of current peaceful situation that we live on. The journey allow users to realize past in silence, and appreciate what we belongs and have now.

Converge and diverge users to and from site, my project tend to break the impermeable edge and searching for opportunities. By looking on the major city development, Lalaport by Setia Group and Merdeka 118 by RSP, my project will act as a connection node to connect the existing tourist spots, Bukit Bintang, link present with future.
32
Jalan Pavilion site are mostly dependent on tourism activities, due to its strategic location that nearby the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Bukit Bintang City Centre contribute most of the local income as high number of tourist visit annually. Array of tourist based commercial activities happening on site, such as hotels, massage and convenient stores. My project, Youth & Art Experimental Learning Center as a place making drive to transform the site independent from the tourism nature of business, having extensive opportunity in economic and social connection. Target user group mainly local, tourist and followed by migrant. The programs derived based on social memories and heritage on site nearby to allow engagement between user and user, user and site.
