HUNTER’S PARADISE LODGE #85

JuLY 2016 From the East: Worshipful Master, Mark Brown

A View from the East… Worship Master, Mark Brown

Greetings the East.

from

Brethren, the recently completed Grand Lodge Communication marks the end of the Masonic year and the start of the second half of the year as your sitting Master. It is also a natural point to reflect on the accomplishments of your Lodge. Membership: Our membership growth continues to be strong and growing at a healthy rate and can be broken into 2 equal parts; new men wanting to become better and joining our great fraternity, and existing Brothers either joining with a dual or transferring an existing membership. New men wanting to become better and joining is a reflection of your love and pride of the fraternity. Those around you, whether they are family,

friends, neighbors or coworkers see that love and pride and ask to know more and eventually how to join. Existing Brothers joining as dual or transfer membership is a reflection on the experience each receives and takes away when visiting our Lodge for the first time. These Brothers, feeling welcome and a part of the Lodge, is attributable to each of us and the pride we have in Hunters Paradise Lodge. In both regards Brothers, keep up the good work. Lodge Programs: We currently have 2 programs underway, community service and fundraising. Both are healthy and producing positive results. Over the past few months, we have engaged with 2 community service projects; Feed My Starving Children and the Ari-

Brothers All, As we head into the second half of the year for Hunter’s Paradise Lodge No 85. We are now 85 members strong and have 85 of the best Masons in Arizona. We are dark for July meaning no stated meeting. This is an excellent time for us to look at our calendars and set them up for the remainder of the year. Are you receiving the emails sent out from the Lodge? If not, please let us know and we can make it happen for you. Do you need a ritual to learn a part in the degrees? If you do, Z secretary has them for sale. Call and he will make arrangements with you to

get one. Do you have a Brother who is interested in attending Lodge with you or know a good man who would make a great mason. Bring the Brother to Lodge in August and ask the Secretary for a petition for new membership. Enjoy the summer and make plans for the fall. Look for good men to join you as as Brother. If you are attending any Masonic or Shrine functions please invite them to join you. See you in the funny papers or Lodge, which ever happens first. Fraternally, George Z Secretary

On the Level…

James “JJ” Jennings, Senior Warden B r e t h r e n , I am very proud to have had the opportunity to represent Hunter’s Paradise #85 at Grand Lodge along with WM Mark Brown and JW Jonathan Beffel. As many of you may know, HP #85 earned another Master Architect award which is testament to our outstanding participation, education, ritual work, visitation and fellowship. We are quickly earning the reputation and respect that we have worked so hard for! With Grand Lodge behind us, we begin a new Grand Masonic

The Plumb Line

Jonathan Beffel, Junior Warden Greetings Brethren, Grand Lodge is now behind us and Hunter’s Paradise was well represented at it! All 8 of our elected officers and Past Masters were in attendance throughout the event. Not only did we once again earn the Master Architect Award, but our very own DDGM Darrell Mandrell was awarded the Mason of the Year by the Grand Master, we are

incredibly fortunate that even though he was moved from district 9 to district 10, so were we! Darrell has charged us with trying to make our new district even better than our old one and I think we are up for the challenge. WM Mark has already started us down the path for our next Master Architect award and I know that JJ and I will work hard to continue that tradition moving forward. One other thing I would like to

note is that the latest version of the Lodge App is ready and available on iOS and Android, this version contains the digital version of our lodge directory and requires a valid login to access it. Please reach out to me for your login credentials, my contact information can be found in every trestle board in the elected officer’s section. Fraternally,

Jonathan Beffel Junior Warden
