What a ime we had since our previous issue… this is the reason that this issue is a month late. We had some problems on our webpage, again. The guys had to move the site from one server to another, and somehow they deleted the database, or as they claim, it was not stable enough to survive the transfer. Whatever the case might be, it was destroyed. At this point in ime it was also clear that the plaform that was used could not do what I needed from the page, so it was ime to reset everything, and start all over again, this ime not taking any chances I decided to have a custom page designed with all the bells and whistles built into it. This is the reason why it took so long for us to be back online. Before I go on, I irst have to drop my head and apologise to a very dear friend for neglecing to menion his hand in a feature we had in the previous issue. The “Father and Son” feature of the two SQ Corsa pick-ups is what I am referring to. Abrie Rautenbach from Acousic Audio in Boksburg also fabricated certain parts on both of these installs. Sorry Abrie, hope that I am forgiven. Back to this issue and what will be new on the website. In this month’s mag we have a look at what went down at one of ODI raceways biweekly events, the BIG Route 59 1 kilo day that was held there, Naionals round 3 from Tarlton Internaional Raceway, regional drags from Nitro Raceway in Brakpan. We made a turn at the “Rolling Thunder/Classic Cars” German vs Jap car show that was held at Nasrec Expo centre, and the annual Ferrari day that went down at Monte Casino. Feature wise we have a look at a superbly built Toyota Supra that nearly did not make it to our shores, a mentally quick Opel Super Boss that was built by Jan and his team at Branchworx in Johannesburg. An insanely loud DD kited Audi A3 from the East Rand and a very, very rare Ford Falcon from the land Down Under. This Falcon is our irst piece of internaional content and for sure it will not be the last. As we grow we hope to bring you news and reviews from all over the world, but the bulk of our content will stay local. With the birth of our new site we are at last capable of the things that was planned right from the start, so now we can start with our compeiions with very nice prizes up for grabs, for the sound guys and the car nuts. Full details of this on our website. Two new features that we are staring are the “My Man cave” and the “My Builds” features, where we will feature your home workshop/garage that is equipped with some fancy tooling and your car builds, be it sound, style, drag, circuit or whatever other purpose behind your labour. Details of this can be found in this issue. Also we will now be able to ofer our mag on a single copy subscripion at a low R12 per issue, and at an insane year subscripion of only R100 for the whole year. Those of you who subscribe now for a year will be able to download all the back issues as well. This ofer will only be available for a limited period of ime, so act now and subscribe. With your support we will grow and bring you so much more, not only in features and technicals, but out there in the real world where we will be hosing events, and have even bigger and beter prizes up for grabs every month. I hope you enjoy this issue as much as we have enjoyed puing it all together. See you guys at the upcoming events. Leon

...the fact that this speciic model is one of only 25 made, it surely is one very desirable car acques van Standen from Queensland Australia have sent us these photos and some info on his pride and joy. (Yes Jacques is originally from Pretoria). The car, or be it Beast in quesion here is a very rare Ford Falcon FPV GT BOSS 335 Black Ediion. I know that is quite a mouth full, but every litle thing in the name has meaning, not like some other cars on the market that suck model numbering out of their thumbs. The Ford Falcon part is fairly obvious, FPV is the Ford Performance Vehicle division of Ford Australia, BOSS refers to the Coyote 5.0L engine, 335 is the amount of ly-wheel kW that this motor has on tap, and Black Ediion refers to the colour of the paint scheme. Sorry, let me correct myself here, BLACK is the colour of everything in this car, from the mat inished

striping on the outside, the leather seats, all trim and the dash. One might think that this might be too much black, but it is all done in diferent shades and inish, so the contrast is sill there. The Black Ediion is based on the FPV GT BOSS 335, but started life as a one of concept for a motor show that was held in Australia and the reacion from the public “forced this car into producion. That was the good news for the Ford lovers Down Under, the bad news was that only 125 units were to be made, and only 25 of them were ited with a 6 speed manual transmission, the rest were equipped with auto and sport sequenial gearboxes. It is also not only the colour scheme of this car that is diferent from the other models, but there are trim level adjustments made to the range such as standard reverse camera and leather seats.

DI Raceway in conjuncion with Route 59 Racing played host to one of the biggest 1 kilo sprint days of the year. 15 July saw guys and girls from all over the country making their way to the longest strip in SA. Ater the 1k mark there is sill about a kilo of breaking area with the surface fairly lat with no bumps and dips making ODI the safest “top end” host in the country. As said, guys from all over trekked up past Pretoria for a fun illed day, the Cape was very well represented in the form of Shaheen Barmanie and Zain Rylkands and Mr Chang, just to menion a few. It was clear from very early that things were going to get very serious as more and more cars were oloaded from trailers. Soon the skidpan, that doubled as a trailer park, was illing up with empty trailers as the guys made their way to the scruineering area. It was not long before Schalk and his 2JZ powered Corolla laid down the gauntlet with a mammoth 308 km/h pass. This laid the foundaion for the racers to try harder and push further down on the loud pedals. But try as they might, tracion was not on their side. And a few fell just short of the magical 300 mark. Later in the day a fairly strong headwind came up and I thought that this was it, no one will beter the 308 from earlier in the day, then all of a sudden, Preean Govender in his ICE Motorsport Supra rocked the house with a 311 km/h pass…

iversity was the name of the game at the ClassicCars.co.za German vs Jap show that was held at Nasrec Expo centre on the 6th of July. Contrary to belief, this is not a show just for classic old imers, but for every motoring enthusiast, no mater what your taste or age might be. There were cars that spanned almost the whole historical period of the motoring world, models to suit the diferent tastes in styling and brand. From old restored to original vintage cars, hot rods, classic American muscle cars, modern muscle cars, sports cars, diferent Eurostyle styling concepts, mostly from the VAG crowd, current performance cars and a whole lot more. From VW Kombi pickups with rotary engines, KE70 Corollas with UZ V8s with NO2 ited, Anglias with motor swops that includes V6s and Cossie transplants. An original Sapphire Cosworth, and a Mustang 350 GT, just to menion a few. On the more current side, as was said,
