Amari Hua Hin, Reef Deli – A Serious Option for Families and Socialising in Hua Hin.

We Love to dine and taste spectacular food and tasteful wines! So here we go… Upon arrival we were escorted to their ultra-modern chic lobby. To be honest we were very surprised to see how cool and hip this was! WE FELL IN LOVE!!
Our second main choice was pan fried sea bass with couscous and tomato salsa. Diners expect fresh seafood and this was what was served. Fresh, soft and simply outstanding cuisine.
As we walked in we felt happiness, I felt relaxed and could not stop smiling! It was colourful and attractive.
The final main was a grilled chicken breast - with caramelised shallots, mushrooms and a mouthwatering bacon sauce. When tasting you genuinely close your eyes from such an unbelievable sensation to the palette.
The Reef Deli has a well positioned wine lounge to suit everyone’s budget, and use local wines also which is fantastic for the Hua Hin community. Not only do they cater for locals (not just hotel guests) they also cater for special occasions! We were seated in the wine lounge to dine. To start with we chose the light & healthy - Spicy pomelo salad with grilled tiger prawn, this is must for all diners TRUST ME! I was sipping on a white wine from Chile - (Mar Y Sol) which is a Sauvignon Blanc. This means sea and sun which are the two key elements which gives this wine a unique character. It boasts wonderful aromas balanced with citrus and tropical fruits on the palate… oh my! Beautiful. I have to say this because the truth is I’m a red wine man! And it was simply exceptional. For mains we decided to choose three dishes. Our first choice was larb pla salmon thod grob - Crispy salmon with tamarind sauce, shallots, rice powder and chilli. This was cooked to absolute perfection, you cannot cook it better yourself no matter how hard you try and try again.

Finally moving onto my secret! (a joke we had with khun Jeab) I don’t have a sweet tooth, this is a subject we had a joke about while dining and made the evening fun. For deserts we were served two! A warm chocolate fondant - served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate ganache and sweet mango caviar coconut and pandan cake accompanied with vanilla ice cream. I’m genuinely shocked; these are made at an expert level! I wanted more and more and more! To cook at this level is a very special talent indeed. The Reef Deli wants the locals and tourists to know... It is not just for hotel guests but for everyone in the region. Retro Bar and Grill is the Cool Bar To Visit.

The Retro Bar is a really cool hangout and is well established on the night market street. Retro has a serious American theme going on, remember the famous old program ‘Happy Days’ ?? EXACTLY!! The staff is so welcoming and the owners, a father and son, have a genuine passion for their work. We met Brian on arrival who is the son; what a genuine funny guy he is! Retro have 2 floors with 2 brand new pool tables, a professional darts set up and many TV’s. If you like terrace views whilst swigging away on cold beverages watching the crowds walk by; our advice is check this place out! You will not be disappointed. Downstairs boasts live bands every night and these are not your ordinary bands! They are outstanding performers playing easy listening Rock ‘n’ Roll. Father and son also own a Thai cooking school in Bangkok which offers diplomas and qualifications which are recognized around the world.
Retro’s pizzas are not just “pizzas”!! They are prepared in a way which took us by surprise. Their Italian background comes through for the customers’ taste and satisfaction. We sampled a small cheese and tomato pizza made with the family’s famous secret recipe for a delicious taste. Shortly after we tried the mini beef burger. We were so impressed with their cooking skills and techniques. Both these meals gave maximum satisfaction for only 100 THB each. If western food isn’t your desired taste, they also offer an extensive Thai dish menu. So basically there is something for everyone’s taste. Big Bike Mascarade A charity event to raise funds for the Hua Hin Hospital

The management team of Banyan The Resort, Hua Hin led by Sirirat Murphy, General Manager welcomed the caravan of Big Bikers who are members of Rise Bangkok Thailand group led by Senior Colonel Bromvich Varunprabha, Police Colonel Nithithorn Chintakanon, Deputy Commander Tourist Police Division, after a parade through Hua Hin. In support of the event, TAT Hua Hin hosted lunch at Ruea Rim Tarn Restaurant for the group upon arrival at Hua Hin. The three-day charity event has become one of the highlight charity events in Hua Hin. Various activities were lined up such as, displays of Big Bikes which were open to the public to view; a visit to Baan Tung Yao School with the Rise Bangkok Thailand group donating funds and offering lunch to the school as part of their CSR; a talent show from a big bike expert; a dance performance from an award-winning dance artist and a mini concert from the popular band, ETC., at the wine dinner event. Part of the revenue generated from organising this event will be donated to Hua Hin Hospital to purchase needed equipment for their emergency ward.

Ley Café Pranburi, a Getaway In Itself!
It is not by luck this is the first Restaurant in Trip Advisor, it deserves it! Khun Jeab the owner and chef of the place knows how to take care of his guests. The place is relaxed and the staff very friendly. The menu has European and Thai food. The owner decided to change the menu recently and focus more on fresh seafood recipes and we loved it! Our dinner started with homemade garlic bread; I enjoy it a lot when my bread is warm- as the aromas wake up your senses and whet your appetite. After this awakening, deep fried sun dried squid arrived to make us even more excited! You could feel the sea in your mouth and the squid was still tender, tasting delicious! A ‘Caesar salad with smoked salmon’ came and it was fresh and tasty!
The most popular dish of Ley café is its Seafood Pizza and as the night was all about seafood we ordered it! Crispy, thin, Italian dough with delicious toppings; shrimps, shellfish and squid with plenty of mozzarella cheese! The desserts sent us to heaven; blueberry lemon cheesecake and a chocolate bomb! All our senses started celebrating this sensational moment! We needed an espresso to digest and they have the best, for real coffee lovers! Thanks to Ley café I had to start my diet the next day!
