This new campus is dedicated to international training in veterinary education in the ASEAN region. Our two welcoming guides for the visit were Doctor Kanthapan Ubotrat (Khun Pa) and Doctor Athipot Jareonsuppaperch (Khun Sharp). The answer to our question about why they undertook the initial 6 year vetinary training and joined the other eleven small and two large veterinarians on staff should have been obvious. It’s basically all about the love of animals and yes, they’re both dog owners. Kasetsart Hospital provides public animal clinical services, including diagnosis and treatment, including complex surgical procedures. Veterinarian training focuses on post graduate qualifications and research. The description of animal ailments bears a surprising similarity to human conditions including diabetes and those conditions needing chemotherapy. The common requirement of dog sterilisation is conducted with the services of the surgeon, the anaethisist and two additional attendants.

We last visited the Kasetsart University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Hua Hin on 5th October 2013, when HRH Princess Chulabhorn officially opened the facility. This was a grand occasion with representatives of all levels of government, practitioners and academics in the field of Veterinary Sciences in attendance; however the importance of the occasion left little room for us to ask questions or to explore what it’s all about. Royal patronage of the University was instrumental in this exceptional project becoming a reality. Professor Doctor Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Princess Chulabhorn studied Chemistry and graduated in 1979 from the Faculty of Science at Kasetsart University, with a Bachelor of Science, First Class Honours. She continued to study Science at Mahidol University, where she received her Doctorate in 1985. Almost two years later we had the chance to spend some time with two of the resident veterinarians and understand why Kasetsart in one of the finest animal hospital facilities in the country providing world-class

There are seven examination rooms and three surgical areas. The standards are far from the ‘backyard’ operators (literally) or individual doctors with a more ‘hasty’ approach. There is also CT scanning, MRI and laser equipment to ensure that the patients are given the best attention available anywhere. What’s coming? The focus of Kasetsart University is gradually changing. This will be a shift away from primary care and towards research and the ability to manage more complex treatment regimes. This is aimed to steadily move towards an ambitious goal of becoming the Veterinary Education Hub in Asia region. Alongside the current facilities and due to open in mid2016 is the under construction Princess Chulabhorn International Conference Centre. This will feature 4 star accommodation (140 rooms) and conference facilities. This will become the venue of international standard academic and research based conferences as well as events with a less academic focus. There will also be small animal accommodation for those who wish to either board their pets or enjoy a shared holiday. There will even be a dog swimming pool and training facilities. Sterilisation for dogs cost 3,000 thb (males) and 3,500 thb (females). As a general guideline, rabies jabs cost 70 thb, combined injections (covering parvo, lepto and distemper), about 200 thb. Rabies shots should be given once a year and are a legal requirement. The combined vacinations are not necessary by law, but you are strongly advised to have them done. The diseases they protect against are common around Hua Hin and they can kill your pet very unpleasantly. Parasites are another big problem, particularly fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, lice and worms. These can be kept at bay using imported oral medicines (which are expensive), or by means of a cheaper 2 monthly jab from a vet. Sprays, powders, shampoos and tick collars are also good.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn officially opened Rajabhakti Park on 26th September. The Prince and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha presided over the ceremony at the Park which was built to honour past Thai monarchs. The ceremony was complete with elephants from Ayutthaya, more than 2,000 performers with a sound and light show lighting the night skies.

New Pavilion in Khao Tao Reservoir to House The King’s Statue

The Interior Minister has presided over a ceremony to lay a foundation stone for construction of a new pavilion in Khao Tao Reservior. This is where a new statue of His Majesty the King Bhumibhol will be housed. The new pavilion, built to celebrate the King’s 90th birthday anniversary on 5th December 2017, will be completed in September 2016. In September General. Anuphong Phaochinda, the Minister of the Interior for Thailand, travelled to Khao Tao Reservoir in Prachuap Khirikhan for the ceremony. This marks the start of the construction project of the pavilion which will house His Majesty the King’s statue. The Provincial Office of Prachuab Khirikhan will be responsible for making the statue, which will be complete by September 2016. The Department of Public Work and Town and Country Planning will design and construct the pavilion, which will be larger than the original Sam Roi Yod National Park and display the royal seal of His Majesty. Among the participants of the ceremony were the Deputy Permanent Secretary of

the Office of Royal Affairs Mr. Dissathorn Wajarothai, the Director General of the Department of Public Work and Town and Country Planning Mr. Monthon Sudprasert, the Governor of Prachuap Khirikhan Mr. Weera Sriwattanatrakul, the Hua Hin District Chief Mr. Sutthiphong Klaiu-dom, Mr. Phichet Panaphong from the Department of Public Work and Town and Country Planning’s office in Prachuab Khirikhan and the Hua Hin Mayor Mr. Nopporn Wutthikul. According to the Interior Minister, the site was chosen because the Khao Tao Reservoir was the first royal initiative on water management by His Majesty the King. The pavilion will be a replica of Khuha Kharuehas Royal Pavilion in Sam Roi Yod National Park. It will house a statue of His Majesty the King which will be clearly visible so that visitors can pay him respect and express gratitude for his contribution to the well-being of Thai people.

10 Aphibarnrat Wins the Inaugural Thongchai Jaidee Foundation Event Kiradech Aphibarnrat cruised to a threeshot victory when he closed with a second straight four-under-par 68 to win the inaugural Thongchai Jaidee Foundation event The Event was hosted by his mentor who also joined the field on 13th September at the immaculately presented Black Mountain Golf Course. The 26-year-old Thai is only the second player from Thailand, after Thongchai Jaidee, to record multiple European Tour wins, although almost 20 years his junior. Kiradech, who led by four shots heading into the final round, fired five birdies against a bogey for a winning total of 24-underpar 264 in the four million baht Asian Development Tour (ADT) and All Thailand Tour Event. Local veteran Prayad Marksaeng put up a strong fight before settling for second place following a 67 while home town hero Prom Meesawat and American Berry Henson shared third place on 269 with final rounds of 68 and 69 respectively. Tournament host Thongchai returned with a 67 to tie in fifth place with compatriot Chapchai Nirat, who capped his best round of the week with a 66. “My game’s was in a good shape coming to this week and that gave me a lot of confidence to win the tournament. This win means a lot to me. Thongchai is one of the best golfers in Thailand and he is also a great mentor and inspiration to me. I have always wanted to emulate his success growing up so I am really happy to win the first event hosted by Thongchai himself this week,” said Kiradech.

Thongchai expressed his delight following the successful staging of his very first tournament this week. “I am very happy with how the event went this week. It’s a milestone for me to be able to host my own tournament,” said the 45-year-old. Another winner Thamannon Koonmark was who achieved a hole in one which was rewarded with a Mazda CX5 valued at over 1.6 million THB. Apart from recognising the significance of this inaugural Foundation Event and the importance of sport to tourism, VIP guest the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul acknowledged Thongchai Jaidee as the first Thai golfer to make the International Team for The Presidents Cup against the United States in Korea commencing on October 8th. She described him as a golfer with ‘Thainess in his DNA’ and as an inspiration to the young of Thailand. As a wonderful post script; Thongchai, sporting the Thai flag on his visor and the Black Mountain logo on his shirt, followed up on the success of his foundation event by securing his seventh European Tour victory with a score of -17 at the Porsche European Open at the Golf Resort Bad Griesbach in Bavaria two weeks later! 11 Australia’s Jason Day Grabs Golf’s World Number One Ranking Jason Day claimed his seventh USPGA Tour victory in September to take over the world number one ranking, becoming the third player in as many weeks to capture golf’s coveted top spot.

Several players tried to make a charge at Day but the Queensland native wasn’t going to wilt. He held them off by staying out of trouble and making sure he maintained his aggressive approach around the greens.

The 27-year-old Australian went wire-towire, closing with a two-under 69 to win by six strokes at the BMW Championship, the third of four tournaments in the FedEx Cup playoffs.

He added a few birdies for good measure, like the one on the par-four 16th when he drained a 15-foot putt, and then on his closing hole to reach 22-under 262.

Day began his round with a six shot lead over a star-studded pack that included Rory McIlroy, who Day toppled from the number one spot, and US Open and Masters winner Jordan Spieth -- who was ranked second behind McIlroy going into the event.

American Daniel Berger shot a 69 to finish in sole possession of second on 268 while Scott Piercy (70) finished solo third, seven strokes adrift of Day. McIlroy (70), JB Holmes (68) and Rickie Fowler (69) tied for third at 14-under 270.

Spieth shot one-under 70 to finish tied for 13th. Day becomes the youngest Aussie to reach number one and the third in history behind Greg Norman and Adam Scott. It was also Day’s fifth win of 2015 as he joins Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh as the only players in the last 20 years to win at least that many in a season. Meanwhile former number one, Tiger Woods announced through his website that he has undergone another back surgery. According to the post, the 14-time major champion underwent a microdiscectomy to remove a part of a disc that was pinching his nerve.

Bjørn Wirkola is a legendary World and Norwegian ski jumping champion who has long since given away that sport for the more gentle game of golf. He is the namesake and tour host for the Annual Wirkola Cup with many Norwegian golfers heading for Cha-Am to play in the tournament from 24th to 28th October. This will be the fifth year of the Wirkola Cup. Bjørn currently boasts a handicap of 11.6,

The Norwegian golfing website ‘golferen.no’ describes the tournament as: “a textbook example of a social golfing tournament.” Of course there are some challenges for the almost 50 Norwegian golfers who have just completed the Norwegian golfing season. Managing speedy greens, warm weather (hot for them) and humidity are some of their challenges. The tournament is managed by the Norwegian Travel Agency Orkidé Ekspressen with Thai Airways providing

substantial sponsorship. Apart from the ‘Cup’ itself, overseas flights from Norway are on offer to the winners. Golfers stay at the Methavalai Hotel in Cha-Am. Cha-Am golf tour operator Rogeir Heimstad from golftrip@cha-am provides local knowledge to golfers and a lead role to ensure all the final arrangements are in place. The Event will be played as a best score from two of three days played at Imperial Lakeview, Springfield and Palm Hills Golf Courses however many of the golfers also play golf each day before competition play.

12 The Hua Hin Business Network – Bringing Cohesion To The Business Community The Hyatt Regency Hua Hin was the venue of the second Hua Hin Business Network (HHBN) gathering. Around 150 of Hua Hin’s business leaders from a diverse range of prominent businesses had the opportunity to meet or renew business acquaintances and form relationships of mutual benefit. The outgoing Board of Directors previously determined that this new organisations would be formed to replace the Skal Club of Hua Hin & Cha Am. This is intended to expand the existing Membership which was restricted to travel and tourism professionals in managerial positions. The mission of HHBN is to cultivate and develop friendship and business contacts between members and be a recognised and trusted voice in the business community.

Apart from an opportunity to enjoy the company of those attending there was a presentation from Brian Anderson, the Sustainable Development Manager at Chiva-Som International Health Resorts, who outlined details of an online survey now underway which gives the opportunity to comment on Hua Hin as a sustainable tourism destination. Additionally James McMenaman, the Club Manager of the MahaSamutr Country Club, presented his vision for the new HHBN website. This will build a greater awareness of the organisation and be a resource for those who are looking for information about Hua Hin businesses and activities. One of the features will be a ‘Job Bank’ where members can list job vacancies. The HHBN is rapidly developing into a valuable Hua Hin community resource and promises to bring a new cohesion to the business community.

14 KING Chulalongkorn Day – In Honour of Rama V The King traveled extensively throughout the kingdom to personally investigate and share his subjects’ conditions and aspirations, often known in Thai as “Prapasstion”. It is very difficult to mention all of his numerous reforms. All the present-day ministries and departments owe their origin of his far-sighted concepts. Statues of King Chulalongkorn all around the Kingdom of Thailand will see ceremonies to honour his memory. Most businesses function as usual but Government organisations are closed on this day.

Ram Ratchaniwet Palace;

A Phetchaburi Legacy of King Rama V

constructed in Thailand during that time were in a European style. After the death of King Chulalongkorn, King Rama VI used Phra Ram Ratchaniwet to accommodate foreign state visitors. After that, the Palace was used for many purposes including a teacher training school, a boy scout leaders school and a public school for girls. During the Second World War, the Palace was used by the Thai military. During 1986 and 1987 the Palace was renovated by the Fine Arts Department. Apart from the palace, the grounds remain as headquarters of the Petchaburi Military District. The Palace is an impressive, very elegant, two storey building with high windows from floor to ceiling and a massive dark colored roof set in a very well kept garden. Thanks to the large windows the Palace rooms feel very bright and spacious. The interior of the Palace speaks of luxury and grandness. The style is described as baroque or art nouveau, also known in Germany as ‘Jugendstil’. The layout of the building is a two story and rectangular with a high domed roof, central fountain and garden with surrounding gardens leading to the nearby Petchaburi River. Inside double curved staircases lead to the second floor. Pillars decorated with majestic green coloured glazed tiles and partly covered in copper. The stair rails are decorated with ceramic ‘cherubs’ holding a variety of animals including monkeys and birds as well as flowers and fruit.

Phra Bat Somdet Phra Poraminthra Maha Chulalongkorn Phra Chunla Chom Klao Chao Yu Hua, or Rama V was the fifth monarch of Siam under the House of Chakri.

Although the spacious internal areas are largely without furniture, there are some surprises inside including a statue of Poseidon, the Greek God of the Sea. Tiled floors show a complex and imaginative selection of patterns and colours. This is a very stately and impressive structure

The 23rd October of every year is a national holiday in Thailand as it marks “King Chulalongkorn Day” or known in Thai as “Wan Piyamaharaj Day”. This is the memorial day of the passing away of King Chulalongkorn, otherwise known as King Rama V. King Chulalongkorn led major reforms in Thailand, for example in the areas of Thai educational system, military affairs, State Railway and Slave Liberation Act without bloodshed. King Chulalongkorn was the fifth monarch of Siam under the House of Chakri. He was the son of King Mongkut and the grandfather of the current King of Thailand, His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej. He was born on September 20, 1853 and ascended the throne in 1868 at the age of 15. His Majesty then passed away on October 23rd 1910 at the age of 57. He had ruled what was then Siam, for 42 years. He was ordained as a Buddhist monk for a short time during September 15 to October 11 2516/1873 and then was coronated again on October 16 2416/1873 to announce absolute kingship to the people of Siam and the world. King Chulalongkorn is considered one of the greatest Kings of Thailand. His reign from 1868 to 1910 was characterised by extensive social and economic development, including the abolition of slavery. He is also famed for his ardent Thai nationalism, and for his skill in fending off the threat of European colonialism, despite the fact that large tracts of Siam were ceded to the Europeans during the period.

Phra Ram Ratchaniwet Palace or Ban Pean Palace, is located at on the Phetchaburi River waterfront in Muang Phetchaburi. The foundation stone was laid by King Rama V on 19th August 1910. However the death of the King occurred in October of that year. The Palace was completed in 1916 during the reign of King Rama VI Approaching King Chulalongkorn Day, this was a timely excursion to see first-hand this Phetchaburi legacy to the founder’s memory King Rama V personally purchased over 300 hectares from local villagers for around 20,000 thb. Mr. Karl Siegfried Dohring, a German architect modelled the European design on Kaiser Willem’s summer palace in Germany. As King Chulalongkorn travelled to Europe in 1897, many buildings

At the entrance to the Palace, an imposing statue of King Rama V keeps a watch on visitors, although there is also a military presence in the grounds. The palace is not signposted and seems to be ‘off the map’ for the region’s tourists though well worth the visit. Where: Travelling towards Muang Petchaburi from Tha Yang, turn off Petchakasem Road at the Big C, heading east. It’s not far to the Petchakasem River, where the military base is the most obvious feature of the western bank. The Palace grounds will be found after passing through the Army gates. Beware a sign that states ‘take down your windscreen’, just smiling through an open side window will do! Open: Daily from 08.00 - 16.00. The adult admission fee is 20 baht, children 10 baht and 50 baht for foreigners. We’ve discovered some budding junior writers at Hua Hin’s BECC School, or as Head Teacher Emma calls them, ‘mini-journalists’! These students were eager to see their words in print and Hua Hin Today is happy to feature them on our children’s page. We hope to meet them soon and encourage writing as an after hour’s school activity. The world through the eyes of a child can be an interesting and different place. These are the thoughts of Emma and Martha about life at the BECC School, it sounds like a lot of fun learning. Thanks girls for your well-chosen words!

Going To The BECC by Martha Wigglesworth; a ten year old student from England “It is the start of another year at The BECC School and it’s sure to be full of excitement, fun and learning and I am so excited for the new term. This term I am looking forward to learning more about science (one of my favourite subjects). I want to improve in Maths because I think it is important. The teachers at The BECC make all activities fun for us so I am looking forward to having fun while I learn. One of the things that I love about The BECC is our after school activities. We have many activities to choose from such as Art, Scouts, Yoga, Science, cooking and football to name just a few. We also have many extra events throughout the year. Coming up this term we have Halloween and our Christmas show. At the end of the last school year we had Sports day which was great fun. For some of us in Year 6, it will be our final year (sad face) at The BECC. I am determined that this year will be as great as the previous 5 years I have spent here at this wonderful school. Everything about The BECC is fantastic but the coolest thing about the BECC is the style of the school. The classes are built like something out of The Flintstones; there are no glass windows or doors! So, don’t worry non-English speakers and newbies at the BECC, everyone will help you improve. Now, let’s talk about the older children’s responsibilities. Year 5 and 6, are the eldest in the school. They have jobs like prefects, lunch monitors, playground monitors and other jobs like that. Prefects are first the leaders of the four school teams; red, blue, yellow and green. Second, the prefects have to set a good example to the little ones. Also, for your information, in prefect, the word perfect is hiding; this gives you a clue to how special prefects are! The lunch monitors are the ones who help the little ones to choose enough vegetables and try new foods. The playground monitors are there to make sure that the playground is a friendly and safe place to play. This year, I am particularly looking forward to the Christmas Show and Halloween and of course all I am going to learn this year. My goal for this year is to improve my maths and writing skills. Really cool after school activities are also on! Yoga, Football, Mad science, Scouts, Thai cooking, Mini Chefs etc. So, good luck newbies and enjoy your time at The BECC like I have!”

16 Shine Body Glow by Sheraton Hua Hin Resort After returning from my holidays and after so much sunbathing, my skin had become dry and definitely in need of a good scrub and moisturisation, shine body glow was what I needed. The spa is located on the basement floor of the Sheraton beneath the reception. It looks small from outside but there are 12 treatment rooms inside, suits and single rooms. The reception of the spa is luxurious in summer orange tones and you immediately feel relaxed.

They welcomed me with a butterfly pea iced tea and a cold towel while they were scrubbing my feet with lemon and salt. I need this once in a while to feel like a tourist in my own town and that’s exactly how I felt. The treatment started and my therapist covered me with a big fluffy towel and started to apply the mixture of scrub she had already prepared; orange, mandarin, jasmine rice and salt. Paracetamol or Acetaminophen, an active ingredient in over-the-counter and prescription medicines, are painkillers, without the side effects of gastric irritation and blood clotting, unlike Aspirin, if used normally. In addition it’s very easy to buy Paracetamol. It can be bought without a doctor’s prescription which may be why the use of this medicine has increased significantly. Whether it is a headache, a fever, catching a cold, toothache, or muscle pain, most of us would take Paracetamol without seeing doctor. Yet, many people do not know that taking this medicine frequently may be harmful. Surveys in the United Kingdom and the United States found that the use of Paracetamol has increased drastically. The number of patients admitted to the hospital from the toxicity of this medicine is alarming. It is essential that the bad effects of this medicine are acknowledged. The most obvious is it’s toxicity to our liver, which might be one of the main reasons for liver failure. The rate of liver failure from the overuse of Paracetamol is even higher than from alcohol or Hepatitis viruses.

Overuse creates a toxic metabolism namely ‘NAPQI’. NAPQI is a toxic byproduct produced during metabolism of analgesic paracetamol. It is normally produced only in small amounts, and then almost immediately detoxified in the liver. Secondly it causes Glutathione, an important antioxidant in the liver, to decrease. If used frequently for a long time or in excessive amounts, it will increase the toxin levels in our body resulting in liver damage. The correct way to use Paracetamol is to take 10 mg of the medicine per 1 kg of body weight. For example: if you weigh 50 kg, you take 500 mg of the medicine; meaning only 1 tablet. You should stop taking the medicine immediately when there are no more symptoms or the symptom doesn’t improve after taking the medicine for 3 – 4 days. In this case, we would recommend you to see doctor instead. Taking medicine should always be your last solution. The best solution to prevent yourself from getting sick is to take care of your health. Nevertheless, if taking medicine is unavoidable, the best thing you can do for your body is to take the medicine accordingly to the instruction.

18 CPR: This Could Be The Most Lifesaving Thing You’ll Ever Learn

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving technique in many emergencies, including heart attack or near drowning, in which someone’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped. Combine the lifesaving potential of anyone who understands how to administer CPR, the training capacity of hospitals who practice emergency medicine and the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) model adopted by many corporate organisations and you have an ideal scenario to increase the ability of community members to be lifesavers, real heroes for those in dire need. Conducting training on CPR and other essential first aid has been adopted within the CSR strategies of at least two regional hospitals. Staff from Hua Hin Today has been able to take up the offer of free training conducted in Hua Hin by staff of the Bangkok Hospital (Hua Hin) and in Cha-Am by staff from Petcharat Hospital (Petchaburi. Our thanks to the doctors, nurses and administrative staff of these hospitals. These hospitals have offered training sessions to groups (typically 10 – 20 participants) to commercial organisations (e.g. hotel/resort staff) and community organisations but really they can respond to any situation where a gathering of interested community members are prepared to put aside a couple of hours and provide a venue. What is presented is a very professional and enthusiastic ‘seminar’ with hands on instruction by medical doctors and para medical staff using ‘dummy patients for a realistic experience and a certificate to take home. So What Are the Basics? When someone loses consciousness and stops breathing, It’s far better to do something than to do nothing at all even if you’re fearful that your knowledge or abilities aren’t 100 percent complete. Remember, the difference between your doing something and doing nothing could be someone’s life. CPR can keep oxygenated blood flowing to the brain and other vital organs until more definitive medical treatment can restore a normal heart rhythm. When the heart stops, the lack of oxygenated blood can cause brain damage in only a few minutes. A person may die within eight to 10 minutes. Before you begin CPR, check if the person conscious or unconscious. If the person appears unconscious, tap or shake his or her shoulder and ask loudly, “Are you OK?” If the person doesn’t respond and two people are available, one should call the local emergency number and one should begin CPR. If you are alone and have immediate access to a telephone, call before beginning CPR. Leave the phone on speaker phone so that your progress can be monitored and to guide the responding emergency services.

Check for normal breathing, taking no more than five or 10 seconds. Look for chest motion, listen for normal breath sounds, and feel for the person’s breath on your cheek and ear. Gasping is not considered to be normal breathing. If the person isn’t breathing normally and you are trained in CPR, begin mouth-to-mouth breathing. If you believe the person is unconscious from a heart attack and you haven’t been trained in emergency procedures, skip mouth-tomouth breathing and continue chest compressions. Breathing: Breathe for the person Rescue breathing can be mouth-to-mouth breathing or mouth-to-nose breathing if the mouth is seriously injured or can’t be opened. With the airway open (using the head-tilt, chin-lift maneuver), pinch the nostrils shut for mouth-to-mouth breathing and cover the person’s mouth with yours, making a seal. Prepare to give two rescue breaths. Give the first rescue breath — lasting one second — and watch to see if the chest rises. If it does rise, give the second breath. If the chest doesn’t rise, repeat the head-tilt, chin-lift maneuver and then give the second breath. Thirty chest compressions followed by two rescue breaths is considered one cycle. Resume chest compressions to restore circulation. What’s An Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)?

The American Heart Association uses the acronym of CAB — compressions, airway, breathing — to help people remember the order to perform the steps of CPR.

AEDs are lightweight, battery-operated, portable devices that are easy to use. Each unit comes with instructions, and the device will even give you voice prompts to let you know how effective the CPR is and when you should send a shock to the heart. With simple audio and visual commands, AEDs are designed to be simple to use for the layperson. The use of AEDs is taught in many first aid, certified first responder, and basic life support / cardiopulmonary resuscitation classes. Learning how to use an AED and taking a CPR course are helpful. However, if trained personnel aren’t available, untrained people also can use an AED to help save someone’s life.

You often find AEDs in places with large numbers of people, such as shopping malls, golf courses, businesses, airports, airplanes, casinos, convention centers, hotels, sports venues, and schools. You also can purchase a home-use AED. Compressions: Restore blood circulation Put the person on his or her back on a firm surface. Kneel next to the person’s neck and shoulders. Place the heel of one hand over the centre of the person’s chest, between the nipples. Place your other hand on top of the first hand. Keep your elbows straight and position your shoulders directly above your hands. Use your upper body weight (not just your arms) as you push straight down on (compress) the chest at least 2 inches (approximately 5 centimeters). Push hard at a rate of about 100 compressions a minute. If you haven’t been trained in CPR, continue chest compressions until there are signs of movement or until emergency medical personnel take over. If you have been trained in CPR, go on to checking the airway and rescue breathing. Airway: Clear the airway If you’re trained in CPR and you’ve performed 30 chest compressions, open the person’s airway using the head-tilt, chin-lift maneuver. Put your palm on the person’s forehead and gently tilt the head back. Then with the other hand, gently lift the chin forward to open the airway.

Some Quick Facts About 75 percent to 80 percent of all out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen at home, so being trained to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can mean the difference between life and death for a loved one. Effective bystander CPR, provided immediately after cardiac arrest can double a victim’s chance of survival. • CPR helps maintain vital blood flow to the heart and brain and increases the amount of time that an electric shock from a defibrillator can be effective. Death from sudden cardiac arrest is not inevitable. If more people knew CPR, more lives could be saved. Brain death starts to occur four to six minutes after someone experiences cardiac arrest if no CPR and defibrillation occurs during that time. If bystander CPR is not provided, a sudden cardiac arrest victim’s chances of survival fall 7 percent to 10 percent for every minute of delay until defibrillation. Few attempts at resuscitation are successful if CPR and defibrillation are not provided within minutes of collapse.

Getting To Know Thai Culture By ‘Building Bridges’

‘Building Bridges’ Thailand (BBT) is a Cha-Am group endeavoring to help bridge the gap between foreign residents and visitors in Cha-Am and Thai people. One of the main aims of BBT is “to increase the knowledge and understanding by foreigners of Thai culture, law, services and lifestyle”. Thanks to the thoughtful invitation of Khun Pittaya Wongkraisritong, Chief District Officer of the Cha-Am District, Petchaburi Province, BBT Members have been able to join Thai people on two recent ‘expeditions’ and work towards this aim.

First was to join three busloads of Thai people on a trip to the Singkhon Border and then to Ratchapakdi Park to the Kings’ Statues. One traveller was Stuart who commented: “In summary it was a very worthwhile and enjoyable trip. The Statues of the Great Kings are very impressive, and will become a huge attraction. I suggest a visit by everyone.” Secondly on 3rd September BBT Members were welcomed to a gathering of Police trainees meeting local families prior to a 2 week ‘placement’, staying with these families in rural settings. The trainees have come from all parts of Thailand, typically from a city setting, so this will be an opportunity for them to learn about the issues facing those living in less urbanised settings. BBT Chairman Paul said that he was both impressed by the caliber of the new trainees and their considerable enthusiasm, but also with the project as a way to provide an understanding community policing.

New Multiple Entry Tourist Visa Available From November

Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that a new multiple entry tourist visa will be available from 13 November 2015. The announcement, made via Ministry’s Facebook page reads:

available from 13th November 2015.’ This new multiple entry tourist visa was first announced in August but is now officially confirmed following its publication in the Government Gazette.

Weekend camps and activities for all ages include Thai classical music and dance, ballet, piano, musical instruments, singing, Latin dance, painting, clay sculpting and acrobatics. There is really no limit to what can be planned and developed within the complex with renowned teaching artists.

Patravadi Mejudhon is by any standards a doyen of the Thailand arts world. However her contribution to Hua Hin’s arts and education scene remains largely unheralded. You won’t see or hear of Khru Lek, as she is often known, joining the local hi-society social scene or being amongst the ‘beautiful people’ around town, albeit that she is no recluse. That sort of limelight now has little appeal; her selfbelief and confidence in what she can and has achieved is enough. As the curtains rose on HM the King’s 1959 production of Manohra, the life of one young audience member was about to change forever. This contemporary dance performance completely enchanted Patravadi Mejudhon and over the years she has thrilled millions with her performances and is now passing on her skills to the next generation through her very own school in Hua Hin.

The name “Vic” comes from “the Old Vic”, the common name for London’s famous Royal Victorian Theatre founded in 19th century. This has been a venue in past years for the Hua Hin Fringe Festival with tiered seating for up to 400 patrons with an auditorium and stage area with modern lighting and sound equipment. The venue is like no other in Hua Hin and perhaps the only place which could accommodate sophisticated theatrical and dance performances. These days productions are typically annual, using the talents of students, teachers and visiting artists. Entrepreneurs who may wish to take advantage of this fantastic facility are welcome to discuss their ideas with Khru Lek. Naidee is a renowned Thai clay artist who spent over three years sculpting each hut so that guests are literally staying in a work of art. This is a unique form of accommodation allowing for a continuing experience of the site.

Patravadi’s mother, Khunying Supatra Singholaka always made a point of taking her daughter to see classical dance and drama as well as Chinese opera. But it came as a surprise to her parents when their daughter announced she wanted a career in the performing arts. They had expected that she would work with them in the family business, running the popular Chao Phraya river boat service in Bangkok. Trained in Thai classical dance and singing, her experiences included training in western style of theatre and dance with various schools and masters in England, New York and Canada. Khru Lek is perhaps best known for experimenting with the fusion of traditional Thai elements with contemporary theatre presentation techniques and has created her signature style contemporary Thai theatre.

Learning is often by experience in the wider activities available which is merged with the more formal educational requirements. Patravadi Mejudhon turned her talents to nearly every aspect of the performing arts and is now an award-winning actress, a playwright-director-producer, a well-respected mentor, and an advocate for cultural policy in Thailand. She was named as a ‘National Artist’ in 2014 and presented with royal trophies and badges from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on National Artists Day last year.

We are still to mention the British Educational Children’s Centre (an independent school), the Hua Hin Horse Club and the NLP Golf School. These are all independent activities based at the site. There is also a coffee and souvenir shop within the grounds as well as fruit and vegetable growing areas and many different animals. There’s probably more! Visitors who wish to check out what can be found are welcome to call in to the main office before exploration. Hua Hin Today was privileged to spend time discussing the transition of Khru Lek from the life of a Diva on the Thailand theatrical scene to focusing on education with a very individual style and understanding of how the young can be nurtured towards a successful life. She has established a complex which follows this passion and offers Hua Hin a facility that, like it’s founder, is away from the mainstream but is a jewel in the crown of what Hua Hin has to offer. As Patravadi Mejudhon says, “We owe it to the next generation to pass on our knowledge, to teach them useful skills and most of all, to inspire them.”

Apart from holding a Doctorate in Arts from Rajabhat Thonburi University, her dedication and commitment in the development of Thai performing arts has won her the prestigious ‘Golden Sithi Tada Award’; her works have represented Thailand on many international occasions. Then there is an award from the French Minister of Culture and Communication which described her as a ‘Chevalier of the French Literature and Arts Order’ and lauded her ‘influence of culture in France, Thailand and all over the world’. The Patravadi theatre in Bangkok was founded by her in 1992 and became known for its outdoor stage, large-scale theatre and well-trained performers in various arts. However the theatre was closed following the great flood in 2010 and Khru Lek then founded Patravadi High School Hua Hin.

This is a relatively recent addition to the educational scene. The school has largely taken over the model of education provided by the late Mom Dusadee Boriphat Na Ayuttaya, who provided some of the inspiration to Khru Lek for what has been achieved overall.

24 Mekong Café – Vietnamese Food and More at a New Location! The Mekong Café has now relocated to Soi 94 right in the heart of Hua Hin city life. The place has clean lines, with some Moroccan and Mediterranean touches that makes it friendly and cozy. The restaurant offers outdoor and indoor tables for all situations. A bar is at the entrance for those who arrived early for a quick drink or a morning coffee!

The menu has many, many options for all different tastes. Authentic Vietnamese, Thai from different regions, Mexican, pizzas and pastas. For those who are ready to eat, but don’t know what, this is the place! All in one location and excellent! I asked for the bestselling dishes and started with ‘fresh springs rolls with chicken and prawn’, an excellent fresh starter. Then I tried the ‘phown hom’ - lettuce, prawns, sausage and basil, fresh and healthy. ‘Khao kreab pak mor’ followed - minced pork and mushrooms in a steamed crepe. This looked like dumplings but is thinner and lighter, full of flavour. ‘Grilled beef rapped in betel leaf’ was my last dish and it was my favorite. You could taste the spices on the beef but the betel leaf left me with a fresh palate.

26 Creative Chinese Food by Chef Ye Wen Chian From The Intercontinental Shanghai Puxi Pirom Restaurant is just past the InterContinental lobby with an open kitchen where you can see the chef playing with fire and creating the elegant dishes before you taste them.

Mr. Glen the Culinary Director of Intercontinental welcomed us and introduced the Chef before we started ordering dishes that I had never heard of before, even though I am big fan of Chinese cuisine. Sweet & Sour Chilled Cucumber Skins; what a delicious snack to start your dinner. Crunchy with vinaigrette dressing that makes you even hungrier; a great idea to combine with your wine.

Hot & sour seafood soup; a thick soup full of taste, mushrooms and seafood. Double boiled Cabbage Soup; golden water with two pieces of Chinese cabbage. This is a light soup perfect for a starter! For main courses we almost tried four different dishes; I couldnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t say which I liked the most. Pan-seared scallop, scrambled eggs, fish. The appearance was white on white with the vibrant orange colour of fish roe. The scallops were cooked perfectly; a perfect accompaniment for the scrambled eggs. Would I sound too spoiled if I wanted to have that for breakfast? Wok-fried prawns with asparagus; the shell of the prawns were crispy that you could eat it all. Stir-fried lobster with duo sauce; one sauce was sweet and sour and the other was a black bean sauce. Really delicious tender lobster. Stir-fried shredded pork and vegetables with crisp noodles. It looked good and it tastes even better. All these different textures were meant to be together. Try to combine in one bite the crispy noodles and the hot pork with the sauce and then you will understand what I mean. After all those delicious dishes and two nice glass of white wine, a bell sounded in our minds for dessert, more excitement.

If you expected chocolate or some fried banana with ice cream then you are in the wrong place. The desserts here are different in a good way! Double boiled pear, dates and longan. Sweet as it has to be and the fruits boiled enough to melt in your mouth but you can still taste the individual flavours. Chilled sago cream, pomelo and mango; cold, sweet and creamy with some bitterness from the pomelo. All in all it was a great experience; good company and delicious food that you want to have again. However the chef had only come to Hua Hin for few nights. Mr. Glen has promised us to bring more chefs from different InterContinentals around the world. You may not have had the time to try this Chinese cuisine, but maybe your favorite cuisine will soon be in Hua Hin; executed by the top of the top chefs! Superb dish that provides a delicious and slow cooked Australian lamb shank in a tyipical Thai-Indian sauce Ingredient : Lamb Shank Coconut milk Palm sugar Fish sauce Massaman curry paste Tamarind paste Potato Peanut Onion Garlic DIRECTIONS : - First, start by searing lamb shank in a very hot pan and on all sides. - Leave it to rest on the side. - In the same pan, fry massaman curry paste (Blend), and add following ingredients : Tamarind paste, fish sauce, palm sugar, half of the peanuts and lastly coconut milk - Add the lamb shank in and simmer for at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours. - At the end add diced potato, chopped onion and simmer for 20 more minutes. - Dess onto a soup bowl, and top with crushed peanuts and some fresh coriander.

35 Revitalising the Restaurant Scene of Cha-Am The low season has taken its toll on small businesses in Cha-Am, particularly in the restaurant and small hotel/ guesthouse sectors. There are many ‘for sale’ notices visible as a sign of failed ventures, giving the impression that the future may be bleak or is that just necessary ‘natural’ attrition? The good news is that there is a new breed in town. On the other sign of the coin, entrepreneurs are providing a new vibrancy ready for the high season to come.

Another trend is the number of Hua Hin diners heading to Cha-Am, looking for a change of scenery, an escape from the traffic or perhaps a weekend away without too much travel. Walking through the big malls in Bangkok my eyes stared at the F Fashion shop windows. Let’s have a look in their new arrivals! 38 The Ubiquitous Thailand Townhouse – Time for Rejuvenation? The townhouse is one of the iconic features of urban living in Thailand. You’ll find them everywhere; typically a row of attached buildings; perhaps one room in width, two stories high with two bedrooms and two toilet/bathrooms.

Using kitchen appliances, TV or ‘social spaces’ means being downstairs. It’s not possible to have a cup of coffee in the morning in or near the bedroom without changing floors. The roof space between individual townhouses may not be isolated from adjoining properties with fire and security issues! The safety of electrical wiring without modernisation is at best uncertain. Upper level water pressure is unlikely to be good enough without a powered pumping system.

Some Practical Solutions: If you are considering a townhouse ‘makeover’, you will need to have an open mind, an innovative approach and a designer’s eye. What you first see is not what you have to except! You’ll also need a ‘hands-on’ approach if you expect to have your ideas understood.

The next day during a mini-bus ride to Bangkok, I sketched a plan from memory. I really needed to look at what was possible, including changes in the use of areas, moving walls and making it fit to my preferred lifestyle. Returning to Cha-Am soon after, my plan was remarkably accurate. My ‘design’ requirements raised a few eyebrows but now it all works.”

Scope of Work Ground Floor: The kitchen at the rear was big enough to become the second bedroom. Another entry to the bathroom/toilet gave the room an en suite feel for visitors who can now have their own space and privacy.

Second Level: First; moving the rear wall out just a metre with full length glass door to the balcony (now 12 square metres) and removing walls around the stairwell provided the basis for an open upstairs lounge/dining/kitchen. Suddenly the vista opened up and claustrophobia was gone. I can also make a cup of coffee in the morning without ‘changing levels’.

This compact living style may offer affordable accommodation in prime locations near to the beach and/ or ‘city living’. Big cities around the world have long since discovered this to be a very desirable way of life. However there are likely to be design issues to consider and an innovative approach taken to renovation if you are looking for a modern Thai townhouse.

Common layout features:

Ground Floor: The front external area has a car parking space but then is often used to socialise outside with table and chairs for relaxation. The typical area is around 30 square metres. Originally uncovered it is often ‘retro-fitted’ with a roof for weather protection. Internally a lounge/living area (32 square metres), toilet/bathroom and rear kitchen (16 m2). The Internal areas would usually total around 50 - 55 square metres. There may be a rear door to a small external space, however the property boundary is likely to be very close (around 1 metre or even be the rear wall. Chances are that beyond the rear wall there will be little access or natural light.

It’s unlikely that a plan of the individual levels will be available, draw your own! This can provide the basis to experiment with the hypothetical use of all available spaces both for your own use and to show tradesmen. All you need is some graph paper, a tape and a pencil. Ignore the limitations of small doors and windows, they can be changed. Internal walls can either moved or removed, there will be few restrictions posed by structural problems. The current use of areas can be changed; a kitchen can become a bedroom or a bedroom a living room. Consider second floor balcony use; these are invaluable spaces for practical use and often overlooked. Think about the management of electrical, water, roof space issues.

Rejuvenation – A Case Study Some Other Changes:

Second Level:

The rooms on the second level are two bedrooms (both around 16 m2), separated by a small ‘landing’ at the top of the stairs and a toilet bathroom off the ‘landing’. There are likely to be balconies, especially at the front, varying in size and outlook.

Some ‘Design’ Issues:

Using the external ground floor area as a recreational area is not compatible With parking a standard vehicle and lacks privacy from the soi and from neighbours. Car parking on your soi, which may only be 2 cars wide, will not be neighbour-friendly. The rear ground floor room may lack natural light. It may be a reasonably large kitchen but with a step down not able to accommodate a dining space. Typically there are small doors and windows from the upstairs bedrooms to the balconies resulting in little use of these spaces. The ‘landing’ has no useful purpose other than separating the rooms and providing privacy. If only one bedroom is used by the occupants, guest or visitors share bathroom/ toilet upstairs and compromise the occupants ‘personal space’.

Second; closing access to the bathroom/toilet from the previous ‘landing’ and opening to the main (front) bedroom provided en suite privacy. Full length glass doors to the front balcony added light and space as well as a cooling breeze from front to back.

Here is a Case Study of a redesigned Thailand Townhouse which now provides practical ‘Euro-style’ living. The writer still lives in this Cha-Am townhouse and provided us with some insights into the rejuvenation process. “After exploring numerous townhouses; some renovated, others in a state of decay, some themes began to emerge. First the renovations seemed to lack imagination, just a revamp of what was there already. Second, there was often a need to provide more open areas and natural light. Properties were typically very enclosed by small windows and doors. The decision to take on this property was based on both location, just a stroll from the beach, cost – 1.3 million THB, but then potential. I remember being unimpressed with the ground level, just the usual, but upstairs the potential emerged. After needing to ‘shoulder charge’ open the doorway to the rear balcony, suddenly the vista appeared; a complete overview of the rear resort swimming pool, almost within reach but clearly unseen by previous occupants.

Built in cupboards and storage spaces included a storeroom under the stairs, kitchen cupboards and a breakfast bench, wardrobes in both bedrooms, bed bases in both bedrooms, bookcase/display shelving and an office desk in the downstairs living area. Isolation walls in the roof space. Electrical rewiring with safety fusing. Water storage and pump system. Three air-conditioning units; not mounted to block balcony use! New ceilings throughout with sunken lighting. In this Case Study a very standard townhouse was transformed from mediocrity into a European standard compact living home which is functional, comfortable and a pleasure to call home. The final cost, that is purchase price plus renovations, appliances and furnishings amounted to something like two million THB. Today a sale price of around three million THB would be considered market value; not a bad investment! There’s also the satisfaction of knowing and seeing what was done. What does the owner say now two years down the track? “It’s a pleasure to come home to; I just love it when visitors take the ‘tour’; at some stage they will say Wow!................I’d do it all again anytime!”

‘Urban’ can be defined as “relating to, or characteristic of a city or town”, whereas suburban relates to “the residential area outside a town or city.” However suburban can also mean “contemptibly, dull and ordinary”. Urban Living launched brand new premises in Hua Hin on the evening of 5th September. Both the opening and the business model on display were far from dull and ordinary, certainly not suburban. The company mantra of ‘anything but ordinary’ was there for all in attendance to experience and understand. This is a combination of business acumen with German national Joachim Drewitz boasting a background of international finance banking whilst Subphaton Kaewprasitchok (Matt) is Thai and provides the flair and understanding of interior design planning and execution. After enjoying the opening at the spacious showrooms on Phetkasem Road, next door to the Plearn Wan shopping village market, Hua Hin Today returned a few days later to talk with the partners responsible for this new venture; Joachim and Matt. HHT: The opening of Urban Living (UL) seemed to be a very successful event, are you pleased with the response? UL: “Sure; we wanted to see guests from diverse backgrounds and that proved to be the case. There were developers, interior designers, hotel and resort management people and even local celebrities. Everyone seemed to having a good time and we hope that they managed to get a clear understanding of the Urban Living concept. It’s very early days, but the enthusiastic response we have received within this short period has been fantastic.” HHT: Why did you set up UL in Hua Hin? UL: “Our first intent was to get started in Bangkok, however this proved to be a frustrating undertalking. There were opportunities, but the tremendous amount of competition and constantly evolving scene gave great concern that a sustainable business concept may prove challenging. We were then introduced to the furniture sector in Hua Hin which we thoroughly researched over months from every possible angle. In the end, we could see that here is an opportunity to take part in a growing, vibrant residential property market that is seeking stylish premium furniture. We have

also developed a tailored marketing pitch for property developers and the response to it has been very encouraging.” HHT: What is the theme or design style that UL is offering, how is this reflected in the showroom? UL: “We offer premium quality designs that are very modern and bright in color with a clear Scandinavian influence. Our furniture has been designed by in-house designers of our suppliers who have an emphasis on quality for each element of a product, such as hinges and suspensions from Europe, timber from Chile and New Zealand, and highest density foam. We visited the factories of all of our suppliers to see with our own eyes how much manual care goes into the manufacturing process as opposed to industrialized or CAD-based high-volume manufacturing. “Awesomesauce”, “hangry”, “beer o’clock” and “butt dial” are just a few of the 1,000 new words and phrases added to Oxford Dictionaries. The editors said the changes reflected evolving cultural, political and social norms. Oxford Dictionaries is the branch of the Oxford family that focuses on modern language. It includes words which people are using now, but which would not necessarily be added to the Oxford English Dictionary.

David Astle is a self-confessed word nerd. As a dictionary expert, he said he was surprised that phrases like “beer o’clock” were not included in the dictionary sooner. “I’ve been suffering from beer o’clock for years and so have a lot of my peers,” he said. “It seems wine o’clock is the snobby update and it’s welcome, of course. “I love the fact that language can be so flexible and shape-shifting and accommodating.” But Mr Astle does have reservations about the inclusion of some words. “I think a lot of the textagrams like NBD, which stands for No Big Deal, at first I thought that could have stood for No Bloody Doubt,” he said. “So I think words that have potential confusion like that should be treated with a little bit more caution.” Mr Astle has also warned that many of the new words might not stay in the dictionary in the future because they might just be part of a fad. “A lot of these words that have been given a nod by Oxford Dictionary, there’s a waiting room going on and these words may not last the distance. “Even though it seems that they have been awarded the mantle of publication, I still think there’s a kind of proving ground that will apply to so many of these new arrivals and that’ll occur in the next decade,” he said. “Whether we really do want to have “awesomesauce” around, it may go the same way as the “amazeballs”. I think a “mic drop” makes a lot of sense to me but “bants” and “ruly” I think probably need a little more oxygen.”

46 Nissan Navara No Longer the ‘Big Bumpy Car’ Something like 30 years ago I drove my first Nissan, a Nissan Patrol. It was a brute. It was ugly to drive, ugly to look at and my then 5 year old daughter named it, “the big bumpy car”! But it had one redeeming feature, it never stopped. As I was travelling long distances across desert areas on unsealed roads, this was very important and why I came to love it! With the latest test drive by Hua Hin Today of a current model (600 km on the clock) Nissan Navara Calibre, I’ve come a long way towards a more civilized choice of Nissan, but I suspect one thing hasn’t changed ...........it’s also unlikely to stop!

‘The Old and the New’

Nissan has manufactured strong and dependable pick-ups for more than 80 years, with more than 14 million sold across 180 different countries so the new Navara has a lot to live up to. There’s also a lot of competition in the four door pick-up range of vehicles in this very popular genre in Thailand. Our Nissan was supplied by Cha-Am Nissan with Managing Director Khun Phawin Sittiyanurux, or ‘Sam’ as we know him. Sam is a young, affable, efficient and importantly for foreign customers he’s fluent in English. We took the test vehicle for an easy run from Cha-Am to visit Ratchapakdi Park to check out Hua Hin and Thailand’s latest stand-out attraction; the statues of seven of Thailand’s auspicious monarchs.

If you’ve yet to make a visit please follow Petchakasem Road about seven kilometres south from Hua Hin; you won’t miss the Park or regret the effort. With dimensions of 5255mm (L), 1850mm (W), 1840mm (H), 3150mm (WB), the Navara is not a small vehicle. However this is where differences between the ‘old’ and the new become dramatic. This is an agile, responsive and uncomplicated drive unlike the clumsy, cumbersome and ‘hard work’ drive of years gone by. Of course creature comforts and features have come a long way. I didn’t bother to reset the GPS , so I was regularly told how to return to base by a pleasant Thai voice advising me to “bai sai” or ‘bai kwa“ (go left or right) before the relevant intersections. But then I realised that on a small corner of the rear vision mirror, a small letter showing the compass direction was also available. I hope Sam wasn’t worried that I wouldn’t know the way back! Our drive past the crowds at Ratchapakdi Park attracted many admiring glances. This is a stylish vehicle and the somewhat unusual ‘Earth Brown’ duco also made us stand out from the more mundane.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)’s reality contest, the Thailand Extreme Makeover, recently returned for its second year and is now underway with the three finalists currently undergoing beauty procedures performed by some of Thailand’s best known surgeons and beauticians. The contest is aimed at promoting the kingdom as an international centre for medical tourism. Mrs. Juthaporn Rerngronasa, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas (sixth from right) presided over the press conference announcing the three finalists for the Thailand Extreme Makeover Season 2. The contest is open to men and women between 20 and 45 years of age, and the three finalists get the chance to win a cash prize as well as an all-over surgical beauty transformation. They will also be treated to an all-expensespaid trip to some of Thailand’s best resorts. สมรรถนะของรถยนต์ ต ามมาตรฐานสากลของ สหประชาชาติ (United Nation-UN) ได้รบั การตรวจ สอบและรับรองโดยประเทศภาคีสมาชิก UN WP29 และสำ�นักงานมาตรฐานผลิตภัณฑ์อตุ สาหกรรม ดังนัน้ เมือ่ เห็นอีโคสติก๊ เกอร์ ติดบนรถยนต์คนั ทีซ่ อ้ื ผูบ้ ริโภคมัน่ ใจได้วา่ รถยนต์คนั นัน้ ไม่ใช่รถยนต์ตกรุน่ หรือรถยนต์คา้ งสต๊อก อีกทัง้ ยังมัน่ ใจได้วา่ สมรรถนะต่างๆ ของรถยนต์ทป่ี รากฏบนอีโคสติก๊ เกอร์ เช่น อัตราการใช้ น้�ำ มันอ้างอิง (หน่วย ลิตรต่อ 100 กม.) และระดับความ ปลอดภัยของรถยนต์ ได้แก่ มาตรฐานการปกป้องผู้ โดยสารในกรณีเกิดอุบตั เิ หตุจากการชนด้านหน้าของตัว รถ มาตรฐานการปกป้องผูโ้ ดยสารในกรณีเกิดอุบตั เิ หตุ จากการชนด้านข้าง และมาตรฐานด้านความปลอดภัยเชิง ป้องกันก่อนเกิดเหตุ (Active Safety) เป็นต้น ได้รบั การ ตรวจสอบและรับรองโดยหน่วยงานมีความน่าเชือ่ ถือ นายอุดมกล่าวว่า นอกจากนีเ้ พือ่ ประโยชน์ของ ผูบ้ ริโภคและประชาชนทัว่ ไปในการเข้าถึงการแสดงข้อมูล รถยนต์ตามมาตรฐานสากลตามแนวทางประกาศฉบับนี้ กระทรวงอุตสาหกรรมจึงได้กำ�หนดเปิดตัวเว็บไซต์ www.car.go.th ในช่วงเดือนธันวาคมนีจ้ ะเป็นแหล่ง ข้อมูลเกีย่ วกับอีโคสติก๊ เกอร์ รายละเอียดและสมรรถนะ จริงของรถยนต์แต่ละคันให้กบั ผูบ้ ริโภคและประชาชน ทัว่ ไป รวมถึงการแสดงข้อมูลอัตราการใช้น�ำ้ มันแท้จริง ของรถยนต์แต่ละรุน่ ทีอ่ ยูบ่ นมาตรฐานเดียวกัน สามารถ นำ�ไปเปรียบเทียบประกอบการตัดสินใจเลือกซือ้ รถยนต์ ได้ ทีม่ า : นสพ.มติชน

ไทย-พม่า หนุน จ.ประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ จับมือ จ.มะริด สร้างเศรษฐกิจ ระหว่าง 2 คาบสมุทร

นายวีระ ศรีวฒ ั นตระกูล ผูว้ า่ ราชการจังหวัด ประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ พร้อมด้วยหัวหน้าส่วนราชการ ภาค เอกชน และ นายอู โซ วิน คณะนายอำ�เภอเมืองมูดอ่ ง จังหวัดมะริด สาธารณรัฐแห่งสหภาพเมียนมา ได้รว่ มกัน ประชุมเพือ่ ส่งเสริมและพัฒนาด้านการค้าการลงทุนและ การท่องเทีย่ วระหว่าง จังหวัดประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ และ จังหวัด

มะริด บริเวณจุดผ่อนปรนพิเศษด่านสิงขร กับ ด่านการ ค้ามูดอ่ ง โดยทีป่ ระชุมได้สรุปผลดำ�เนินโครงการศึกษา การส่งเสริมและพัฒนา โดยให้หน่วยงานภาครัฐและ เอกชนทัง้ สองฝ่ายได้เจรจาร่วมกัน เพือ่ จัดทำ�ข้อเสนอ แนวทางการพัฒนาด่านสิงขร ศึกษาความสอดคล้อง ระหว่างฝ่าย จ.ประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ และ จ.มะริด ซึง่ เป็นแหล่ง ประมงขนาดใหญ่ มีนโยบายทีจ่ ะย้ายฐานการส่งออกจาก จ.ระนอง มาอยูท่ ่ี จ.ประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ มากยิง่ ขึน้ เนือ่ งจาก เส้นทางขนส่งสินค้าประมงทีส่ �ำ คัญจาก จ.มะริด ไปยัง จ.สมุทรสาคร หากผ่านด่านสิงขร จะช่วยลดระยะทางที่ จะต้องไปขึน้ ที่ จ.ระนอง กว่า 300 กิโลเมตร นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการลงทุนด้านพลังงานพืน้ ฐาน เช่น ไฟฟ้า ประปา การพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรม และการลงทุนก่อสร้างถนน 4 เส้นทาง จากเมืองตะนาวศรี เกาะสอง มะริด และ ทวาย คาดว่าจะแล้วเสร็จภายในปี 59 เพือ่ ให้เกิดการเชือ่ มต่อ ด้านเศรษฐกิจ ด้านการท่องเทีย่ วระหว่างกัน โดยมะริด มี ชายฝัง่ ทะเลยาวกว่า 1,200 กิโลเมตร มีเกาะแก่งกว่า 800 เกาะ มีทศั นียภาพทีส่ วยงามเหมาะแก่การส่งเสริม การท่องเทีย่ วระหว่างสองคาบสมุทร

9 กันยายน 2558 คณะกรรมการคัดเลือกกิจกรรมดีเด่นโครงการ “ท้องถิน่ เพชรบุรสี วยด้วยมือเรา ปี 2558” นำ�โดยนายธนรัตน์ เศวตสุวรรณ หัวหน้ากลุม่ ส่งเสริมและพัฒนาท้องถิน่ สำ�นักงานท้องถิน่ จังหวัดเพชรบุรี นำ� คณะกรรมการประกอบด้วยผู้แทนปลัดจังหวัดเพชรบุรี เจ้าหน้าที่แขวง ทางหลวงชนบท เจ้าหน้าทีส่ าธารณสุขจังหวัดเพชรบุรแี ละผูช้ ว่ ยประชาสัมพันธ์ จังหวัดเพชรบุรี ออกประเมินผลเพือ่ คัดเลือกองค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิน่ ทีม่ ี ผลการดำ�เนินงานดีเด่นตามโครงการ โดยในวันนีเ้ ป็นวันทีส่ องเพือ่ ประเมินผล กิจกรรม 1 ท้องถิน่ 1 ถนนสวยงาม ทีอ่ งค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิน่ 7 แห่งใน 7 อำ�เภอ คณะกรรมการได้เดินทางไปประเมินผล ซึง่ มีความแตกต่างกันในเรือ่ ง พืน้ ที่ การประเมินผลในกิจกรรม- 1 ท้องถิน่ 1 ถนนสวยงาม แบ่งเป็น กลุม่ เทศบาลมี 2 แห่ง คือเทศบาลตำ�บลเขาย้อย ถนนสุวรรณวิถี เป็นถนนของ อบจ.โดยเป็นถนนทีผ่ า่ นเข้าหมูบ่ า้ นชุมชน มีคนู �ำ้ ด้านข้างซึง่ มีวชั พืชเช่นผักตบ ชวา จอกแหน โดยประชาชนและเทศบาลตำ�บลเขาย้อยต่างก็รว่ มกันในการ ดูแลรักษาทำ�ความสะอาดและขจัดวัชพืช และปลูกไม้ดอกข้างทาง ส่วน เทศบาลตำ�บลท่าไม้รวก ถนน ม. 6 บ้านท่าลาว อ.ท่ายาง เป็นถนนของกรม ทางหลวง มีความร่มครืม้ ของต้นไม้ใหญ่ และทางเทศบาลได้ปลูกไม้ดอกข้าง ทาง อาทิเช่น หางนกยูง ลัน่ ทม ชัยพฤกษ์ เวลาทีอ่ อกดอกทำ�ให้เป็นถนนที่ สวยงามสายหนึง่ สำ�หรับกลุม่ องค์การบริหารส่วนตำ�บล จำ�นวน 3 แห่ง คือ อบต. หนองโสน ถนนสายเพชรบุร-ี บ้านแหลม (แยกกุม่ สะแก-ต.ท่าแร้ง)

อำ�เภอเมืองเพชรบุรี เป็นถนนทีม่ กี ารดูแลรักษาดีและมีผสู้ ญ ั จรไปมาค่อนข้าง มาก เพราะเป็นถนนทีเ่ ชือ่ มถึงอำ�เภอบ้านแหลม /อบต.บางครก ถนนสายวัด เขาตะเครา อ.บ้านแหลม เป็นถนนเข้าสูว่ ดั เขาตะเครา ซึง่ เป็นของ อบจ. อบต. ดูแลรักษาและพยายามปลูกไม้ดอกทีท่ นต่อความเค็มของดินเนือ่ งจากเป็นพืน้ ที่ ดินเค็ม และรักษาความสะอาดอย่างดี /อบต.วังจันทร์ ม. 7 ถนนบ้านสระยาย นนท์ อ. แก่งกระจาน เป็นถนนในหมูบ่ า้ นทีช่ าวบ้านร่วมกันปลูกผักสวนครัว รัว้ กินได้ ทำ�ลูกระนาดป้องกันการขับรถเร็วและอุบตั เิ หตุ ร่วมกันพัฒนาและ รักษาความสะอาดอย่างดี สำ�หรับคะแนนการประกวดมีรายละเอียด 16 ข้อๆ ละ 10 คะแนน รวม 160 คะแนน เช่น การมีสว่ นร่วมของทุกภาคส่วนใน การคัดเลือกถนนเข้าร่วมโครงการ , มีไฟฟ้าสว่างทุกระยะ 30-50 เมตร , ถนนมีความสะอาด,ไม่เป็นหลุมเป็นบ่อ,มีปา้ ยจราจร ,ประชาชน ชุมชนมีสว่ น ร่วมในการดูแลบำ�รุงรักษา เป็นต้น โดยในวันที่ 10 กันยายน จะไปประเมิน ผลอีก 2 ทีค่ อื อบต.สามพระยา ถนนบายพาสแยกช้างแทงกระจาด-หน้าที่ ทำ�การอบต.สามพระยาอำ�เภอชะอำ� /อบต.ไร่มะขาม ถนนสายไร่มะขามหนองกระเจ็ด อ.บ้านลาด และกิจกรรม 1 ความคุม้ ค่า 1 สาธารณประโยชน์ ทีอ่ บต.สมอพลือ อ.บ้านลาด ,อบต.หนองปรง อ.เขาย้อย และอบต.ธงชัย จังหวัดเพชรบุรไี ด้จดั ทำ�โครงการท้องถิน่ เพชรบุรสี วยด้วยมือเรา ต่อ เนือ่ งมาตัง้ แต่ปงี บประมาณ 2555 โดยให้องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิน่ ดำ�เนิน การ 4 กิจกรรม สำ�หรับกิจกรรม “1ท้องถิน่ 1 ถนนสวยงาม” เพือ่ ให้องค์กร ปกครองส่วนท้องถิน่ ปรับปรุงถนนสายหลักในเขตพืน้ ทีใ่ ห้มคี วามปลอดภัย

สะอาด สวยงามโดยปลูกไม้ดอกไม้ประดับ และจัดระเบียบป้ายต่างๆ มีระยะ ทางดำ�เนินการรวมไม่นอ้ ยกว่า 1 กิโลเมตร เพือ่ สร้างให้จงั หวัดเพชรบุรเี ป็น เมืองน่าอยู่ น่าเทีย่ ว ซึง่ สอดคล้องกับประเด็นยุทธศาสตร์การพัฒนาจังหวัด การประกวดแบ่งเป็น 2 กลุม่ คือ1.กลุม่ อบจ.และเทศบาล กับ2.กลุม่ อบต. การประเมินผลเริม่ จากอำ�เภอประเมิน จากนัน้ จังหวัดจะประเมินคัดเลือกใน ระดับจังหวัดรางวัล โดยจะมอบรางวัลในทีป่ ระชุมจังหวัด

รมว.มหาดไทย เป็นประธานวางศิลาฤกษ์โครงการก่อสร้างศาลากลางน้ำ�เพื่อประดิษฐานพระบรมรูป พระบาทสมเด็จ พระเจ้าอยูห่ วั ณ อ่างเก็บน้�ำ เขาเต่า อำ�เภอหัวหิน เพือ่ เฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยูห่ วั ในโอกาสมหามงคลเฉลิม พระชนมพรรษา 90 พรรษา 5 ธันวาคม 2560 คาดก่อสร้างแล้วเสร็จเดือนกันยายน 2559 วันนี้ (21 ก.ย. 58) ทีอ่ า่ งเก็บน้�ำ เขาเต่า อำ�เภอหัวหิน จังหวัดประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ พล.อ.อนุพงษ์ เผ่าจินดา รัฐมนตรีวา่ การ กระทรวงมหาดไทย เดินทางมาเป็นประธานในพิธวี างศิลาฤกษ์โครงการก่อสร้างศาลากลางน้�ำ เพือ่ ประดิษฐานพระบรมรูปพระบาท สมเด็จพระเจ้าอยูห่ วั กลางอ่างเก็บน้�ำ เขาเต่า โดยมีนายดิสธร วัชโรทัย รองเลขาธิการสำ�นักพระราชวัง, นายมณฑล สุดประเสริฐ อธิบดีกรมโยธาธิการและผังเมือง, นายวีระ ศรีวฒ ั นตระกูล ผูว้ า่ ราชการจังหวัดประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์, นายสุทธิพงษ์ คล้ายอุดม นาย อำ�เภอหัวหินนายพิเชษฐ์ ปาณะพงศ์ โยธาธิการและผังเมืองจังหวัดประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์, นายนพพร วุฒกิ ลุ นายกเทศมนตรีเมืองหัวหิน ตลอดจนคณะผูบ้ ริหารระดับสูงของกระทรวงมหาดไทย ข้าราชการทีเ่ กีย่ วข้องในจังหวัดประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ ตลอดจนประชาชนเข้าร่วม พิธเี ป็นจำ�นวนมาก โดยมีพธิ บี วงสรวงและสักการะจากโหรพราหมณ์ส�ำ นักพระราชวัง รัฐมนตรีวา่ การกระทรวงมหาดไทยกล่าวว่า กระทรวงมหาดไทย จังหวัดประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ และกรมโยธาธิการและผังเมือง ได้รว่ มกันดำ�เนินโครงการก่อสร้างศาลากลางน้�ำ เพือ่ ประดิษฐานพระบรมรูป พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยูห่ วั ณ อ่างเก็บน้�ำ เขาเต่า โครงการอันเนือ่ งมาจากพระราชดำ�ริดา้ นแหล่งน้�ำ แห่งแรกทีท่ รงมีพระราชดำ�ริให้จดั สร้างขึน้ เพือ่ น้อมเกล้าน้อมกระหม่อมถวายเนือ่ ง ในโอกาสมหามงคลเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา 90 พรรษา 5 ธันวาคม 2560 และเพือ่ เป็นสัญลักษณ์ทพ่ี ระองค์ทรงพระราชทานโครงการ พระราชดำ�ริดา้ นแหล่งน้�ำ แห่งแรก โดยออกแบบก่อสร้างศาลากลางน้�ำ ทรงจัตรุ มุข โดยได้จ�ำ ลองศาลาพระทีน่ ง่ั คูหาคฤหาสน์ ทีต่ ง้ั อยู่ ณ อุทยานแห่งชาติแห่ง ชาติ เขาสามร้อยยอด ที่เปรียบเสมือนสัญลักษณ์ประจำ�จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ และได้รับพระราชทานพระบรมราชานุญาตให้

จัดสร้างพระบรมรูป พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยูห่ วั ประดิษฐานในศาลาจัตรุ มุขกลางอ่าง เก็บน้�ำ เขาเต่า ซึง่ ในโอกาสต่อไปสถานทีแ่ ห่งนีจ้ ะเป็นสถานทีท่ ป่ี ระชาชนจะได้เข้ามาเคารพ สักการะเพือ่ ความเป็นสิรมิ งคล และสำ�นึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคณ ุ ทีพ่ ระองค์ทรงปฏิบตั ิ พระราชกรณียกิจอย่างตรากตรำ�ต่อเนือ่ งมายาวนาน สำ�หรับการดำ�เนินการก่อสร้างครัง้ นี้ จังหวัดประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ได้รบั หน้าทีใ่ นการ หล่อพระบรมรูป พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยูห่ วั โดยทำ�พิธหี ล่อพระบรมรูปเรียบร้อยแล้ว ขณะนีอ้ ยูร่ ะหว่างดำ�เนินการ คาดว่าจะแล้วเสร็จในเดือนกันยายนนี้ ส่วนกรมโยธาธิการและผังเมือง รับหน้าทีอ่ อกแบบและก่อสร้างศาลาจัตรุ มุข กลางน้�ำ โดยได้ท�ำ การขยายสัดส่วนของทุกองค์ประกอบของพระทีน่ ง่ั ฯ ขึน้ อีก 1.20 เท่า ของพระทีน่ ง่ั จริง เพือ่ ให้มขี นาดเหมาะสมกับพระบรมรูป พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยูห่ วั ทีน่ �ำ มาประดิษฐานซึง่ มีขนาด 1.5 เท่าของพระองค์จริง หน้าบันของศาลาจตุมขุ นีจ้ ะมีตรา สัญลักษณ์ ภ.ป.ร. โดยจัดวางตำ�แหน่งศาลาจัตรุ มุขกลางน้�ำ ให้อยูบ่ ริเวณกลางอ่างเก็บน้�ำ ห่างจากพลับพลาทีป่ ระทับเดิมทีอ่ ยูบ่ ริเวณริมอ่างเก็บน้�ำ ออกไปประมาณ 50 เมตร เพือ่ ให้ผทู้ เ่ี ข้าชมสามารถเห็นพระบรมรูปพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยูห่ วั ได้อย่างชัดเจน

หนุ่มเมืองเพชร “ท�ำตุ้มวัว” เครื่องประดับความสวยงามของวัว จ�ำหน่ายสร้างรายได้

หนุม่ ชาวเพชรบุรใี ช้เวลาว่างหลังเลิกงาน “ทำ�ตุม้ วัว” เครือ่ งประดับความสวยงามของวัว จำ�หน่ายสร้างรายได้ เผย ครัง้ แรกทดลองทำ�ขึน้ เพือ่ มาใส่ให้แก่ววั ของตนเอง ก่อนทดลอง จำ�หน่ายลงในเฟซบุก๊ ชือ่ ว่า “จำ�หน่ายตุม้ วัวหุม้ เพชรนำ�โชค” จนได้รบั ความนิยม “เพชรบุร”ี เป็นจังหวัดทีม่ กี ารเลีย้ งวัวจำ�นวนมาก โดย วัวทีเ่ ลีย้ งไว้นน้ั หลังช่วงฤดูเก็บเกีย่ วจะมีการจัดกิจกรรมสำ�หรับ วัวทีม่ ที ง้ั วัวลาน วัวเทียมเกวียน วัวเทียมไถ และการประกวด วัวสวยงาม โดยวัวแต่ละตัวเมือ่ ถึงเวลาออกงานเจ้าของจะต้อง นำ�เครือ่ งประดับตกแต่งให้แก่ววั โดย “ตุ้มวัว” เป็นเครื่องประดับอีกอย่างหนึ่งที่ เจ้าของวัวจะนำ�ไปใส่ผกู กับสายสะพายให้แก่ววั เพือ่ เพิม่ ความ เด่น เพิม่ เสน่ห์ และเพิม่ ความสง่างามให้แก่ววั ของตนเอง โดย เฉพาะวัวประกวดสวยงามจะถูกตกแต่งด้วยเครือ่ งประดับต่างๆ เหล่านีอ้ ย่างสวยงามเพือ่ แข่งขันประชันสวยกัน นายกีรติ กลิน่ มาลี และ น.ส.ช่อผกา พูลสวน ชาว เพชรบุรที ใ่ี ช้เวลาว่างหลังเลิกงานมาทำ�ตุม้ วัวจำ�หน่าย เปิดเผย ว่า ทีไ่ ด้ท�ำ ตุม้ วัวจำ�หน่ายเนือ่ งจากส่วนตัวแล้วชืน่ ชอบการเลีย้ ง วัว และชอบเครือ่ งประดับของวัวทีม่ ที ง้ั เขารอง ตุม้ วัว หน้าเพชร ทีล่ ว้ นแล้วแต่เป็นเครือ่ งประดับของวัวทีเ่ ป็นงานทำ�จากฝีมอื สำ�หรับตุ้มวัวนั้นสมัยก่อนส่วนใหญ่จะใช้เขากวาง หล่นมาทำ�การเจีย และฝังเพชรเพือ่ เพิม่ ความสวยงาม และมี ความเชือ่ ว่า เป็นการปกป้องวัว แต่ปจั จุบนั ได้มกี ารดัดแปลงมา ใช้เขาวัวทำ�แทนเนือ่ งจากเขากวางหล่นนัน้ หายาก อีกทัง้ ตนคิด ว่าการนำ�เขากวาง หรือเขาวัวมาทำ�นั้นเหมือนกับเป็นการ เบียดเบียนชีวติ สัตว์ จึงได้ดดั แปลงมาใช้ทอ่ พลาสติก หรือโพ ลิมเมอร์แทน

หลังจากเปิดตัวอย่างเป็นทางการมาเป็นระยะเวลา 10 เดือน สวนน้�ำ วานา นาวา หัวหิน ได้รบั การตอบรับอย่างล้นหลามจาก ทัง้ นักท่องเทีย่ วไทยและต่างชาติ และล่าสุดเพือ่ เป็นการตอกย้�ำ ในการเป็นผูน้ �ำ ของสวนน้�ำ ระดับโลกในประเทศไทย จึงได้ท�ำ การเปิดตัว เครือ่ งเล่นหรือกิจกรรมที่ 20 อันมีนามว่า “วานาดิโอ” (Vanadio) สตูดโิ อถ่ายภาพใต้น�ำ้ โดยช่างภาพมืออาชีพแห่งแรกในเมืองไทย จากการตอบรับที่ดีจากลูกค้า ที่มีความประทับใจในบริการถ่ายภาพภายในสวนน้ำ� โดยช่างภาพมืออาชีพจากบริษัท แคนนอน มาร์เก็ตติ้ง (ไทยแลนด์) จำ�กัด ถือเป็นแรงขับเคลื่อนที่สำ�คัญในการเปิดตัว “วานาดิโอ” ขึ้น โดยทางแคนนอน ได้คัดสรรอุปกรณ์ที่ดีที่สุดมาใช้ในสตูดิโอใต้น้ำ�แห่งนี้ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นกล้อง DSLR รุ่น EOS 5DSr ที่มีความละเอียดสูงสุดถึง 50.6 ล้านพิกเซล เครื่องพิมพ์ภาพระบบอิงค์เจ็ท PIXMA iX6770 ขนาด A3 และเครื่องพิมพ์ขนาดใหญ่ มีคุณสมบัติ พิมพ์ภาพได้ยาวถึง 18 เมตร สามารถพิมพ์ภาพขนาดเท่าคนจริง หรือทำ�เป็นภาพถ่ายพาโนรามา ซึ่งจะสร้างความประทับใจ ให้กับลูกค้า และทำ�ให้การมาเที่ยวสวนน้ำ�แห่งนี้มีความสุขยิ่งขั้น ทั้งนี้ ยังมีการจัดแสดงแกลอรีภาพถ่ายใต้น้ำ� ภายใต้ชื่อ “Splash-tasy Gallery” โดยมีดาราและเหล่าคนดังระดับ แนวหน้า 5 ท่าน ที่ได้มาถ่ายทอดตัวตนในโลกใต้น้ำ� ได้แก่ บอย ปกรณ์ ฉัตรบริรักษ์, เมญ่า นนธวรรณ ทองเหล็ง, อองตวน ปินโต, พิมฐา ฐานิดา มานะเลิศเรืองกุล และแม่บ้านมีหนวด การถ่ายภาพใต้น้ำ� ที่วานาดิโอ นอกจากท่านจะได้ รับประสบการณ์ใหม่แล้ว ยังจะได้ฉีกจินตนาการกับการเลือกสวมคอสตูมสุดบรรเจิดในธีมต่าง ๆ ตามแต่ใจชอบได้เลย ไม่ว่าจะเป็น นางเงือก, นางฟ้า. แดร็กคูล่า, โจรสลัด, ชุดไทย, ชุดแต่งงาน ฯลฯ โดยราคารูปเริ่มต้นที่ 380 บาท พร้อมกรอบสวยงาม

ททท.ประจวบฯ นำ�เสนอ แผนการตลาดการท่องเที่ยว

14 ตุลาคม 2557 โรงแรมประจวบแกรนด์ อำ�เภอเมือง จังหวัดประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ นายวีระ ศรีวฒ ั นตระกูล ผูว้ า่ ราชการจังหวัดประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ เป็นประธานเปิดการจัดประชุมแถลงแผนการตลาด ของ ททท.สำ�นักงานประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ ประจำ� ปี 2558 โดยนางอรสา อาวุธคม ผอ.ททท.ประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ กล่าวถึงแผนการตลาด ว่า “ททท.ได้ตง้ั เป้าหมายนักท่องเทีย่ ว ของจังหวัดประจวบคีรขี นั ธ์ ให้เพิม่ ขึน้ จากปีทแ่ี ล้ว 8% เพือ่ ให้สามารถบรรลุเป้าหมายรายได้นกั ท่องเทีย่ ว ทัง้ ประเทศรวม 2.2ล้านล้านบาท ซึง่ ในปี2556 ทีผ่ า่ นมา มีนกั ท่องเทีย่ วเดินทางเข้ามาท่องเทีย่ วจังหวัดประจวบฯ จำ�นวน 4,417,025 คน (ชาวไทย จำ�นวน 3,500,499 คน ชาวต่างชาติ จำ�นวน 916,526 คน) สร้างรายได้ 24,317,29 ล้านบาท ทัง้ นี้ กลุม่ ตลาด นักท่องเทีย่ วชาวต่างชาติ 5ลำ�ดับแรก ได้แก่ ฟินแลนด์ เดนมาร์ก อังกฤษ เยอรมัน สวีเดน เนเธอร์แลนด์ สำ�หรับปีน้ี จะใช้ สโลแกนเพือ่ ส่งเสริมการท่องเทีย่ วของจังหวัดประจวบฯ ว่า “Prachuap Khiri Khan ...
