Our students enjoy a range of activities throughout the year, from Freshers’ Week in September, through to fundraising activities for Help for Heroes, Comic Relief and Oxfam. The College has a Student Council which provides feedback on all areas of College life; students are encouraged to play an active part in the Council. Two student Governors are also voted in each year by current students and represent students’ views on the College’s main decision making Governing Body. Anyone can achieve the best results in their work, it is not selective, it’s just a case of determination and a constant ability to keep on working even when the work gets hard because in the end all of this will be worth it.

Samantha Lythgoe Before Hugh Baird: Completing other qualifications Course: Certificate in Education
I came to Hugh Baird to study HE because I’d had positive experiences here previously. It provided a good environment to learn in. As I have Cerebral Palsy, I receive support from my Additional Support Lecturer. I’ve received excellent support from Learner Support staff and the team of care assistants. This has allowed me to continue my studies towards achieving my goal of becoming a qualified teacher. Without the assistance of the Learner Support team, I don’t think that I would have been able to attend college and would not have achieved as much as I have so far.
