I came to Hugh Baird because it was close to home and I had heard positive reviews about it. The College makes you feel welcome and safe. What I like about my course is that all the subjects are very interesting and the teachers are very supportive. In Law, we have visited courts and got to witness serious criminal trials. This was very exciting!

I think the support services at Hugh Baird are a wonderful idea. Nobody can feel lonely or sad with all these people available to talk to. My ambition is to qualify as a social worker so I hope to do a social work degree at Liverpool John Moores or Edge Hill University. I would definitely recommend Hugh Baird to anyone, it is a great place to learn.

I chose Hugh Baird because they have a very good record and are one of the best around. I enjoy the course. I like the fact that we learn everything about IT and computing, giving you an overview of everything and making your choice in the future easy. For example, as part of the course, we’ve had an insight into the development of media with a trip to a film and photography museum. I plan on going to university to study computer science and choose a career in the IT world. The support services at Hugh Baird are very helpful, especially the Careers Advisors. They give classes and help with applying to university.

Floristry National Diploma Level 2
“
I chose Hugh Baird College because I heard loads of great things about it. I love the Floristry course I’m on because I love doing creative things such as arrangements. The College is great and the tutors help you a lot. As part of the course, I’ve done work experience in Natural Fleur Florist Shop. I really enjoyed it and it was good experience. We’ve been on a few trips on the course too and they were fun to do. I’d like to be a full time florist when I complete my Level 2, or maybe do one day a week in Level 3 next year to get more qualifications. If you are thinking about doing Floristry at Hugh Baird, I’d advise you to do it. It’s a great way to learn new things and have fun.

I chose Hugh Baird because the teachers seemed very friendly and helpful. My favourite things about this course are script writing and photography. One of the best things about the College is that there is always
someone on hand to help and places to go with work you struggle with.
I got picked to work on a documentary called Time 4 Families which would never have happened if it wasn’t for this course. My ambition is to work on film production teams and then go into teaching after having more experience. I am hoping to go to university to study film studies next. It is an excellent college, the staff are really friendly and helpful and the course has a lot to offer.

“push me to do more
I think the teachers on my course , to try new things, and they inspire me to be the best.
I’ve had work experience through this course, helping to set up and engineer light and sound at a College event in St George’s Hall. We also took a trip to a music workshop in Birmingham where we watched a live performance and spoke to many musicians and engineers who work in the industry. The support services at Hugh Baird have been very helpful to me. They helped my application to university go very smoothly. I hope to continue into higher education at John Moores University to develop my skills in audio and music production to become either a sound designer or a Foley artist.

I chose Hugh Baird because I had done a course here before and felt really comfortable here. What I like about the course is how I get feedback and I know where I am doing well. We have done lots of performances such as a College event at St George’s Hall where we did High School Musical. I think the support is amazing at Hugh Baird. My tutor always talks about our next step and she is always there if you want to talk to her. I would love to be a back up dancer in music videos or on the West End. I am going to continue with performing arts and get my Level 3 and then try a theatre school.
If anyone was thinking of coming to Hugh Baird, I’d say you will have a ball but also find things out about yourself. At first I didn’t know I could do drama and now I love it.

Meeting the tutor at Hugh Baird College We will invite you into the College to meet a course tutor. This will give you another opportunity to find out about the course, meet staff and view the facilities. You will be offered a conditional or unconditional place, depending on the course and the entry requirements. For example, a conditional offer is made for an A Level course on the condition that you gain the GCSE grades.
Step 3…
Enrol at Hugh Baird College We will invite you to enrol at Hugh Baird College from the end of June throughout the summer. The busiest enrolment period is from the end of August when many students have received the results required to meet the conditions of the course.
