hull independent cinema
Hull Independent Cinema is five years old! Our very first film screening was on 4 July 2014 – the wonderful Locke, starring Tom Hardy. So many things have happened since then. We've moved to bigger venues. Hull Film Festival and Dead of Night go from strength to strength. We made sure that film was a key part of Hull's year as UK City of Culture. We've worked with fantastic partners such as Yorkshire Silent Film Festival, Hull Pride, Doc n' Roll Film Festival and many more. But at the heart of it has always been our weekly programme of the best new world and independent cinema that you just can't see anywhere else in the city. This new season is no different, with drama, comedy, documentaries and more from Spain, France and Germany alongside the best of English-language film. None of it would have been possible without you, our amazing audiences. Your support makes it possible for us to keep taking risks, and to keep bringing brilliant film to Hull. Thank you all for the support you've given us, and here's to the next five years!
