MARINE LITTER ON THE WEST COAST
Just one generation ago, nobody really cared about all the rotting rubber gloves, plastic bottles and nylon nets that washed up on the beaches along the West Coast. That is different now.
Today, many municipal, public, and private waste removal initiatives have been established along the coast to make sure that litter is removed, assorted and in some cases recycled.
Amongst other things, dedicated entrepreneurs have established companies focusing on marine litter recycling along the West Coast. If you would like to find out more about these initiatives, participate in a beach clean-up during your cycle trip or buy your very own marine litter souvenir to take home, please visit REN STRAND, OMHU or STRANDET.
