WEST COAST CYCLE ROUTE

560 KILOMETRES THROUGH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DANISH NATURE

Danish National Cycle Route No. 1 is one of the longest marked routes in Denmark and probably the most varied, challenging, and amazing cycling experience to be had in Denmark.

Using the North Sea as a dependable guide, West Coast Cycle Route continues effortless and at times with a constant cross wind through natural and cultural landscapes that are several thousand years old. Fresh sea air, room for contemplation and beautiful West Coast sunsets are guaranteed.

The route winds its way through marshland, heath and dune plantations, past bays, lakes, a geo park, national and nature parks, and along wide and white sandy beaches. Everywhere you look, you will find lots of wildlife on land, at sea and not least in the air. Discover both the oldest and the fifth largest Danish town along with lots of small and large fishing communities and idyllic beach towns. Not only does this route take you past iconic sea marks, proud lighthouses, and historical mansions in the dunes but also past award-winning attractions and other exciting places of interest.

Along the entire coastline, you will experience the taste of the North Sea from delicious ingredients produced by dedicated and passionate people. First-class fish and shellfish, cheese stored in the wind and small, cosy farm shops are just some of the highlights offered by the pantry of the West Coast.

In short, West Coast Cycle Route is a 560 kilometres long story about life lived on nature’s terms. The kind of nature that can be beautiful and evocative but also rough and almost mystical. A breath-taking and fantastic cycling experience, whatever the weather.
