A Message from the Resort Manager Aloha All, It is hard to believe that it is time, once again, to reach out to you regarding all that is happening at Hyatt Ka’anapali Beach, a Hyatt Residence Club Resort. We started off the year with very full occupancy, and over the past months we have been able to welcome many of you back to your Maui home for the second time (or more) since opening. In this issue of the Destination newsletter, we highlight some of the success your resort associates have been able to accomplish over the past year and a half in relation to personal growth and development. We also want to highlight how our resort team is working hard to contribute back to the island of Maui, and to be good, positive community participants in keeping the island and the state as the special place that makes people want to visit again and again. As many of you know, Maui and Hyatt Ka’anapali Beach continue to receive high honors in “best of” awards from sources such as TripAdvisor readers’ choice, Condé Nast, Travel and Leisure, and many others. We want to continue this trend and will work hard in the resort and community to be all we can be. We have completed some enhancements to the resort this year, and there are more to come in the fall. In March, we were able to complete the installation of two boilers designed to heat the pools during the cooler months. You will be pleased to hear that we are more than capable of maintaining a pool temperature of at least 82 degrees year-round! We completed renovation to our service bar near the Lahaina Provision Company, so now you have a couple of options available for you
to grab that mai tai or frosty brew. In August, we will be undergoing some much-needed work in the Lobby area that will help us to provide better protection from the wind and rain. We are also looking at some wind mitigation efforts in the pool/towel hut area. Your continued feedback has been very helpful in guiding us to make decisions in further enhancing the property. Mahalo, aloha, and hope to see you again soon.

Resort News
It is all about the Aina! Aina is the Hawaiian word for land. The Hawaiian culture calls for the coexistence of people and land. The wellbeing of the earth is of equal importance to the health of the people inhabiting it. We, at Hyatt Ka’anapali Beach, have taken many steps to be environmentally conscious and to do our best in protecting and preserving the aina. The resort opened in December 2014 as a LEED Certified property. We have low flow sink aerators, air control scheduling, solar panels for hot water and many other building features that help keep our property running with maximum efficiency. Since opening, the resort has focused on making the necessary adjustments to continue reducing our carbon footprint, as well as our operational costs. Steps such as utilizing LED lights in many areas, shutting down the pool water falls at night, and adjusting exterior light timers to reflect the changing sunrise and sunset, go a long way in helping us continue down the green friendly path. Caring for the aina is also about giving back to the island and its peoples. We have held fundraisers and gift drives as an extended hand to help our neighbors in need. Our most recent involvement was in Maui’s 38th Annual Charity Walk, where we contributed to the overall collection of more than $1 million dollars in Maui County to give back to the community. The proceeds of this event are dispersed to various non-profit organizations that support the people and culture of Maui. It was our pleasure to hold a property-wide gift drive for the children of Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Shelter this past holiday season. The associates at the resort love to spread their aloha without hesitation when it comes to giving back and taking care of others in our community. As owners, you all have discovered the beauty of Maui and appreciated the experience of the aina. Rest assured that we understand the value of this magical place, and our efforts will continue to focus on how we can improve and become even better at supporting our ohana, and to live with pono (the conscious decision to do the right thing).
