Mauchak Indian restaurant, situated on Holyhead Road, Ketley, is a busy, popular restaurant, with a relaxed vibe and inviting atmosphere. Mauchak has been refurbished to a beautiful standard with a luxury feel, complete with chandeliers, crystal drapes, mirrors and soft lighting with purple hues, which create fine dining experience full of opulence. There is also a fully licensed bar with classic beers like cobra, wines, spirits and soft drinks to choose from and modern, relaxing authentic music. We went along on a Saturday evening and were greeted by the very friendly staff, who showed us to our table. We ordered our drinks and were given the extensive menus to browse. Ibrahim, the owner came to say hello and chatted to us about his plans for Mauchak, which include a brand new ‘Dessert Lounge’ which will be opening very soon – The Moroccan themed lounge will focus on amazing desserts and will also have ‘vape’ shisha pipes with endless flavours to choose from and it sounds like it is going to be amazing!
Ibrahim asked us what our favourite Indian meals are, so that he could give us some personal recommendations on what to try, and after careful consideration suggested that we try for starters - Spicy lamb; tender fillet of lamb stir fried with chopped onions, green pepper, tomato and a hint of mustard served on crispy yogurt bread for me, and Chicken tikka & garlic mushroom stir fry; tender chicken with tasty mushrooms and fresh crispy salad for my husband Stef. The Spicy Lamb was fantastic with just the right amount of spices to make your tongue tingle; the bread was fresh and soft, a perfect combination. Stef was really impressed with his too; he explained that it had a range of flavours that blended beautifully. For the main course I had Shimla Masala Balti and Stef had Chicken Jhal, accompanied by some Pilau Rice and fresh Garlic Naan. Ibrahim had knocked the nail on the
head with his recommendations, my dish was sweet in flavour with juicy chicken, classic masala taste and oozing tomato – Brilliant and Stef’s Jhal, which is a Bangla version of chicken jalfrezi with hot red pepper sauce was phenomenal - spicy hot with soft succulent lamb and decorated with onion and chilli flower bursting like a firework. He was glad to have a Cobra beer to cool his mouth down – the perfect partner for any curry! We finished with complimentary ice creams which is a nice touch and cleaned up with fresh lemon towels.
Mauchak prides itself on customer service and fresh, quality food and both of these are excellent, whether you are dining in or having a take away and that’s why they have built a regular local client base of customers that just keep coming back again and again. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they strive to make every visit a fabulous one.
The plans for the Moroccan themed ‘Dessert Lounge’ at Mauchak are going to bring a whole new dimension to this already brilliant restaurant. All you need to do is go and try it for yourself!

Nestled on the High Street in Oakengates, you will find Bangla Pride. This gem of a restaurant offers a real taste of Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine, Fazlul Karim and Muhammed Hussain have built a fantastic reputation and it is easy to see why Bangla Pride is one of the top restaurants in the area.
Bangla Pride is not licensed, but you are able to take your own alcohol along to enjoy with your meal. There are soft drinks on offer, and as it was early on a Friday evening, my husband Stephan and I decided to have a coke. The restaurant is well laid out with seating available for couples and large parties alike. The feel is contemporary and the décor is warm and comfortable. We got chatting with Muhammed and Fazlul and it was obvious to us that they have a real passion and enthusiasm for the Bangladeshi dishes that they serve. Muhammed explained that he isn’t a fan of the poppadum as he says it tends to fill you up too soon and then you don’t get to enjoy the full flavours or the main courses, he is after all an expert in this area and I for one don’t think I will ever bother with a humble poppadum ever again!
They are constantly bringing new dishes to the already extensive menu, and as I was about to learn, Bangla Pride is not like any other Indian restaurant that I have tried before, there is passion in each and every dish, constantly tweaking to achieve absolute perfection, and they do. We asked Muhammed to choose the dishes for us, which I love doing now, for many years I would have chosen the same dishes every time I went out to eat, but I have found so many new favourites this way. He asked if there were any dietary requirements and any preferences and set off to get to work. For the starter we had a Mixed Platter; Sheesh Kebab stuffed with cheese, King Prawns, Chicken & Lamb Tikka and Mushrooms, all cooked with onions and sprinkled with
coriander – without doubt some of the best I have ever had the pleasure of trying. The prawns were marinated and cooked to absolute perfection; I cannot explain how good this was with mere words but can say without doubt that you need to try his for yourself – simply stunning! Fish is at heart of many Bangladeshi dishes as it is a major part of their staple diet, and we were blown away by the main course that followed – Sea Bass Fantasy; Aubergine and potato cooked in medium/slightly hot sauce with pan fried fillet of sea bass on top. There was also Jalfrezie chicken made from a tandoori selection and then cooked with fresh garlic tomato onion and capsicum with hint of chillies, Lamb Bhuna and Pilau Rice and fresh garlic naan. The Sea Bass was mouth-wateringly delicious and when mixed with the aubergine it was a brilliant combination – highly recommended. The Jalfrezie and Bhuna were also bursting with flavour and the meat melted in my mouth, it was so tender. The Naan was in a class of its own, packed with fresh slivers of garlic – the tastiest ever! We were stuffed, so couldn’t fit a dessert in but we had a fresh orange segment to cleanse our palettes and a warm lemon towel to clean our hands with which is a really authentic touch.
With a 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating, Number 1 Telford Curry Club Awards and Certificate of Excellence on Trip Advisor, Bangla Pride is top notch. The freshness of the ingredients is evident in every single bite, Karim explained that the meats are marinated for 2 days to ensure the flavours are completely infused throughout, everything is prepared freshly at Bangla Pride and you can taste the difference. Customer service is excellent and with the great quality of the food, it makes an experience that you will never forget, meaning you will want to come back again and again.

It had been a little while since we last visited The Swan at Forton. As we Stepped inside through the entrance porch into the bar area, we were pleased to see that the former coaching inn, dating back to the 18th Century, still had its eccentric charm. With the refurbishment of the rooms just completed, I was relieved to see that the bar area and restaurant still had all of its character remaining; Stripped wooden floors, fireplaces, gilt framed pictures and a stunning chandelier sparkling overhead. We were seated in the conservatory and had our drinks order taken - it was definitely time for a Pinot! The Swan is famous for its lunchtime carvery, which is available through the week as well as Sundays, but we wanted to try the a la carte menu, which has a good variety of dishes on offer.
For starters I opted for Oven Baked Portabella Mushrooms – topped with onions, chive, sundried tomato and melted cheddar and for Stef it had to be the Chicken Liver Pate – with toasted ciabatta and caramelised red onion chutney. For the main course I could not resist the Seabass Fillet with Chilli Butter and Stef went for a 10oz Sirloin Steak – both served with flat mushrooms, grilled tomato, onion rings and chunky cut chips. The starters arrived in no time and WOW, they were amazing! My Portabella mushrooms were juicy and flavoursome, a winning combination. Stef was really pleased with his Pate, which was smooth, tasty and simply divine when combined with the chutney. We washed it down with some more wine and then it was time for the main course. My Seabass was simply stunning, cooked to perfection and oozing with the wonderful chilli butter, the tomato was beautifully sweet and the onion rings were huge – brilliant! Stef
tucked into his Sirloin Steak enthusiastically and it too was cooked perfectly, exactly as requested – succulent and tender. The chips were great too, really thick and chunky. We were feeling full by now but I never refuse a dessert and with the selection on offer, that wasn’t going to change on this occasion for sure. I was won over by the Warm Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice-cream and Stef never has been able to resist Warm Chocolate and Walnut Brownie! They again arrived in no time at all and looked amazing, I savoured the comforting tastes of the warm Pecan Pie which was gooey and sweet – the pecans giving it a crunchy kick and Stef explained that the Brownie was one of the best he had tasted, the walnuts adding that extra dimension to the flavours – Yummy!
The Swan has a regularly changing fresh food menu and a good selection of steaks and grills. The range includes traditional favourites as well as a lovely selection of a la carte dishes. They also have 10 ensuite rooms at the Swan which have just been completely refurbished - The six larger superior rooms are in the main building and comprise two twin rooms, a family room for 3 guests and two doubles. On a cold October Autumn evening, we could not think of anywhere better to warm ourselves up than our Favourite curry house Bengal Spice, with our 3 year old daughter we thought we would check out the new children’s menu that has recently been launched. Sunday- Thursday Only. Since its Refurbishment back in March, the restaurant has been brought right up to date with its stylish décor, warming tones with beautiful Indian elephants adorning the walls. What’s nice about this 60 seat restaurant is the abundance of beautiful smells before you even reach the door, not to mention the aromatic smells once inside.
Greeted with the warmth of both smiles and spices, we instantly felt at home as always. In business 15 years Anwar and Ash have enjoyed success in this conveniently situated high street venue, with a regular local client base, using the Restaurant and take-way service Bengal Spice is continuing to be renowned for its fantastic Indian Cuisine. Our table was set beautifully with grey and black table ware and beautiful cutlery, I could not wait to see the new menu.
As Bengal Spice is unlicensed we brought our own drinks along to enjpy, and then we tucked into the poppadum’s with dips whilst browsing through the extensive menu. After a few changes of mind we decided to order, for starters my partner decided on a Chicken Chat Starter and I chose King Prawn Butterfly, my Daughter was happy to settle for poppadum’s and as very helpful Laura had brought over some paper and pens she was quite content in drawing, I must say that the team here at Bengal are very family orientated and loved having a child in the restaurant. The Chicken chat starter came out promptly served with a lovely green salad with mint sauce, a thoroughly enjoyed dish, the flavours were delightful and just the right amount until the next course. The King prawn butterfly was amazing, cooked lovely with a beautiful texture and I loved the crispy coating!
On to the mains after a little break, I opted for the Lamb Rogan Josh, succulent pieces of tender lamb spiced with herbs, cashew nuts, garnished with fried tomatoes, a very tasteful dish, infused with flavour, served with my choice of garlic fried rice and a Keema-naan bread to share. My partner opted for Methia Ghost with Keema rice, a delectable dish of lamb infused with flavours and spices, it looked and tasted fantastic. For our Daughter there is a NEW children’s menu, from the old English favourites such as chicken nuggets ,scampi, Fish fingers to Chicken Korma, Chicken Balti and much more…. What a fantastic idea it’s so refreshing to come out for a curry with my family altogether and there being a choice for all of us on the menu. This meal was extremely satisfying and very reasonably priced. For the more adventurous curry connoisseur, the menu boasts a choice of Balti, curry, Biryani, Sagwalla, Sizzler Specialities & a vegetarian option too with a section dedicated to chefs recommendations for something different. They are happy to prepare dishes not on the menu (whenever possible), as well as the Standard menu, there are six set menu options - perfect for 2-4 people, allowing all to try an array of delights from the restaurant’s various dishes. Our meal at Bengal Spice was a delight, a haven from the hustle and bustle of Telford. They also provide outside catering for events and can take bookings for parties and special occasions. On leaving the restaurant we were both warm, full and content, with Anwar and Ash's friendly personalities making us feel relaxed and welcome ensuring a repeat trip in the near future! After a long day at the office my partner Simon & I decided that cooking was something neither of us wanted to partake in! The Lamb at Edgmond seemed the perfect choice, as one of my favourite restaurants for a very long time learning that The Lamb Inn had been taken under new management I was curious as to weather it could ever live up to the food that I had previously known and loved!
The Lamb Inn was owned by the burton borough family in the 1880s at this time it was a working farm and an Inn. Today, the lamb boasts a beautiful modernised restaurant, a large bar area with adequate seating, also a modernised outdoor seating area with a fantastic playing area for the children. Simon & I were welcomed to the Lamb and seated in the booth seating area at the rear of the spacious restaurant and ordered our drinks. Our drinks arrived alongside the extensive menu with a range of various dishes from Salads & Jacket Potato’s to Mixed Grills for all the meat eaters! Scouring the starters my eyes were instantly drawn to the Wings – Crispy fried chicken wings with a cucumber & carrot salad dressed with sweet chilli & sesame. Simon couldn’t resist the Black Pudding – Pan fried black pudding and duck egg with oyster mushrooms, brioche toast and black pepper jus! Our starters came presented to perfection and both dishes delivered flavour throughout stimulating the appetites ready for our mains! The arrival of our mains followed, Simon decided that he wanted a vegetarian option and ordered Gnocchi – Potato Gnocchi with mushrooms and spinach in a
creamy white wine sauce with rocket and parmesan served with garlic ciabatta, he commented on the generous size in portion before devouring the whole dish! The perfect dish for a large appetite! I opted for the Gammon from the Grills section of the menu. A 10oz gammon steak served with fried egg and pineapple with a garnish of either chips with roasted tomatoes and mushrooms or sweet potato and roasted Mediterranean vegetables. I had requested double egg opposed to egg and pineapple and decided on the chips with roasted tomatoes and mushrooms! As a gammon lover tucking in I was in heaven and I also had to complement the chef, I had high expectations and they had just been met! Finishing my meal off with the pepper sauce I was thoroughly pleased! As our empty plates were cleared by our waiter we were offered the dessert and coffee’s menu and although we were both extremely full and content I couldn’t resist a sneak peak! The Chocolate fudge cake with ice cream sounded fantastic so I requested a small portion to complete my meal, Simon choose the Banoffee Pie from the specials board and it looked great, Simon commented on the delicately subtle banana top and the light crunchy coated base layer that complemented each other perfectly. My Chocolate fudge cake was warm and gooey! Everything that you would want in a chocolate cake!

◾ 6 Medium Free-Range Eggs, Separated ◾150g Golden Caster Sugar ◾500ml Whole Milk ◾400ml Double Cream ◾350ml Rum Or Bourbon Or A Mixture Of Both! ◾ Freshly Grated Nutmeg, To Taste Makes: 12 Prep:30 Min | Cook:No Cooking Required
Method
1. Whisk the egg yolks in a bowl with 100g of the caster sugar until the mixture is pale yellow and thick (this is best done with an electric handheld mixer). 2. Stir in the milk, double cream, and the rum and/or bourbon, you can also add a little grated nutmeg at this point. 3. Pour the mixture into two 750ml pint bottles with stoppers and store in the fridge for up to two weeks. This is a key step to good Egg Nog. 4. Place the egg whites in a box and freeze until ready to serve. 5. When ready to serve, defrost the egg whites into a clean metal or glass bowl. Using a handheld electric mixer, whisk the egg whites until foamy. Add the remaining 50g of sugar and whisk the egg whites until soft peaks form. 6. Pour the egg nog into a large bowl and fold in the egg whites until combined. Ladle the egg nog into glass tumblers and serve with a little freshly grated nutmeg over the top.

◾350g Plain Flour ◾2 Tsp Ginger, Ground ◾1 Tsp Bicarbonate Of Soda ◾100g Butter ◾175g Soft Light Brown Sugar ◾1 Egg ◾4 Tbsp Golden Syrup Makes Around 20 Biscuits Prep:20 Min|Cook: 15Min
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 190 C (Gas mark 5). 2. Put the flour, ginger and soda into a large mixing bowl and rub in the butter then add the sugar and stir in the syrup and egg to make a firm dough. 3. Roll out to about 5mm thick and cut out your gingerbread men. Refrigerate the uncooked, cut biscuit shapes on a baking tray prior to cooking. About 15 minutes in the fridge is long enough to ensure your gingerbread biscuits retain their shape during baking. 4. If you don't have a gingerbread man cutter then use whatever you have - stars and hearts are just as good. 5. Put a sheet of baking paper on a tray and evenly space out the biscuits, bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. 6. Leave to firm up for a couple of minutes before placing on a wire rack to cook. 7. Once cooled, decorate with icing. Ready to use tubes of icing are great for decorating and are a lot less messy!

1. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl up to and including the rum. Cover then leave to soak overnight. 2. Soften the butter, beat it with the sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy then beat in the egg slowly, a little at a time, until combined. Fold in the soaked fruit and all the other ingredients. Lightly butter a pudding basin and fill with the mixture. Cover the surface with greaseproof paper, then with two layers of buttered foil, making a pleat in the centre to allow for the pudding to rise. Tie string tightly around the basin rim to secure the foil. 3. Place in a saucepan, with an upturned saucer in the base, pour in water so that it comes halfway up the sides of the bowl, then cover with a lid and simmer for 4 hours. Top up the water during cooking. Allow it cool then cover with greaseproof and clingfilm and store for upto 2 weeks, in the fridge until needed. 4. To reheat the pudding on Christmas Day, cover with foil and steam for 1 hour 30 minutes. Or cover with clingfilm, pierced in the top and microwave on high 5 minutes.

Alison - Season 2 Trailer Season 1 of Golden Globe-winning drama THE AFFAIR explored the emotional effects of an extramarital relationship. We met Noah a New York City schoolteacher and novelist who was happily married, but had a deep resentment of his dependence on his wealthy father-in-law and Alison a young waitress trying to piece her life and marriage back together after the tragedy of losing her son. The provocative drama unfolded when Alison and Noah met in Montauk at the end of Long Island.
Season one of The Affair ended on a highly dramatic note, with police arresting Noah (Dominic West) for Scotty's murder just as he was settling down on the sofa of his NYC apartment with Alison (Ruth Wilson) and their child.
But is he guilty? We don't know what happened but there must be so much more to find out about those fateful events that started on that family Montauk holiday. What we do know is that we'll get answers in the second series of the show, which is due to air later this year. From the trailer it's clear that season two starts where season one finished. Cole (Joshua Jackson) has tracked down Alison in New York, but she tells him “I think you should leave”.
Noah hasn't been sentenced yet and his bail is set at $500,000, which suggests he won't necessarily be behind bars at all & Helen (Maura Tierney) is clearly on the war path and doesn’t want Alison “anywhere near” her kids. And it’s no surprise that after all the betrayals in season one, love doesn't look like it's having much success, with Alison saying in the trailer: “Do you honestly think things turn out for the best? That true love conquers all?”
We will see more of the past before we get to the present, which means there's more of the events leading up to Scotty's death than we've seen so far. We might get to hear Cole and Helen’s split narratives to get their side of things.
The evidence the detective is arresting Noah on is by no means conclusive, so he has his work cut out to figure out what actually happened, and prove it. It’s agonisingly mysterious! The anticipation is almost as intense as that first meeting between Noah and Alison in the quaint Lobster Roll Restaurant - which seems like a lifetime ago now!

Recipe... Poached White Peaches Scented With Strawberries with Rose Petals & Wild Strawberries By Michel Roux Jr. Michel Roux Jr. will be at the BBC Good Food Show Winter on Thursday 26 November, at the NEC Birmingham. He will be cooking live in the Supertheatre and taking part in live interviews and book signings.
Michel shared one of his recipes with us to give just a little taster of what will be in store at the show.
INGREDIENTS (Serves 6)
8 ripe white peaches 600g caster sugar Juice of 1 lemon 2 tnsp of dry edible rose buds Or 3 tbsps of fresh untreated rose petals from highly scented flowers Or 4 tsp or more to taste of edible rosewater available from healthfood shops or chemists 5 leaves gelatine, softened in cold water Rose petals for decoration 400g wild strawberries Icing sugar
1 |Blanch the peaches in boiling water for 15 seconds. Plunge them into iced water, drain and peel. Mix the sugar and lemon juice in a large pan with 600ml of water and bring to the boil.
2 | Add the peeled peaches, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes until tender, turning the peaches around occasionally. Add the rose flavouring and leave to cool.
3 | Take 100ml of the syrup and bring back to the boil. Add the gelatine that has been softened in cold water and squeezed dry. Whisk until the gelatine has completely melted, then add further 400ml of the syrup. Cool again. 4 | Cut the peaches into 8 slices each and arrange in bowls, plates or glasses. Cover with the cold, but not yet syrup, and decorate with rose petals, wild strawberries and a dusting of icing sugar. Recipes from MATCHING FOOD AND WINE by Michel Roux. We are two Ofsted registered childminders working together from the same home. We were nursery nurses who have gained experience, knowledge and qualifications for over 6 years in child care. We are Level 3 and level 5 qualified in Early Years and both have a range of other qualifications including up to date paediatric first aid, anaphylactic awareness and auto-injector training, child protection, food hygiene and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) training.
We are highly experienced practitioners caring for children from newborn upwards. Both of us have gained room leader roles within a nursery and have experience caring for children with a range of needs and abilities including Special Educational Needs, and Gifted and Talented. Other training includes: epilepsy awareness and rescue medication training, care for children with severe food allergies and intolerances. We are friendly, fun, caring and responsible individuals who provide a calm, nurturing environment. Based in the country side, we offer a variety of fun and stimulating activities to meet children's individual abilities, needs and interests. Some of the activities we provide are; nature walks around the large garden, gloop play, cloud-doh, play-doh, water activities, lots of role play
resources for the home corner, inclusive day trips to attingham park, farms and more. We support children's development of hand-eye co-ordination, fine manipulative skills and gross motor skills through different activities. We allow a mixture of child-initiated play as well as adult led activities to promote concentration and attention skills. Through observation of children, we
and working towards the early learning goals for each child. We understand children learn at different rates and we support this.
We both have excellent understanding of child development, identifying needs early to support children with early intervention if needed. We have experience of liaising with external agencies to support children with IEPs (individual education plans), including children with speech delays, physical needs and medical needs.
We have very good initiatives with caring for babies and children, helping them to settle when upset. We understand children starting in a new child care setting may be unsettled and we will work in partnership with parents as much as possible to allow a smooth transition and helping the child to settle. We have both cared for twins, ensuring they are treated and valued as unique individuals, ensuring each of their needs are met and are both happy. Children we care for are able to build good attachments and bonds with us, which will enable them to feel safe and secure to learn and develop effectively. We provide all meals, this includes breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and a tea. We also cater for babies who are weaning by providing their meals too.
The children's safety and wellbeing is paramount, their needs will always come first. We want to provide more for children and help them reach their full potential, for them to be happy and well cared for. Thank you,

Maws Craft Centre is situated in the picturesque Ironbridge Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 1.5 miles from the historic Iron Bridge and housed in the refurbished Victorian tile factory of Maw & Co, once the world's largest tile manufacturer. The centre comprises independently run studios housing an eclectic mix of arts & crafts specialists and holistic therapists, together with our popular café & tearoom. Our courtyard is used to host events including open air concerts, World Heritage Site events, outdoor art exhibitions and seasonal fairs.
The craft centre complex is open 7 days a week but individual shop & studio opening times vary. Bringing A Night Out To Your Workout! Clubbercise Telford... Since having a baby a few years ago I have been struggling to find a way to enjoy myself whilst getting fit without feeling self-conscious. Before kids my favourite past time was clubbing and 90s dance music and I was amazed to find an actual class that would incorporate all of these aspects.
I entered the hall for the clubbercise class and was immediately met by the familiar and loved sounds of the 90s, as I passed into the room the lights were off and the floor was lit up with disco lights and the other members neon outfits and glow sticks. Immediately at ease due to the dim lighting and familiar music I was warmly greeted to my fellow clubbers of a wide range of ages, both male and female. After brief greetings I was passed my own glow sticks and the music and routine began with Jac on stage leading us all. The routine began with a warm up, stretching all the forgotten muscles to a well-known soundtrack. Within the hour session the beat increased along with the amount of
movement and glow stick waving until we were all dancing away burning from 500-1000 calories without even realising it! After a brief dance off we were all lead into a warm down, re-stretching and relaxing all of our muscles again aided by the amazing music and reassurance and guidance from Jac. Reminiscent of my clubbing days but without the alcohol and self-consciousness, at the end of the session everyone had worked hard but were still in brilliant spirits. All of the routines were easy to follow and you could throw yourself into them as much as you felt that you could – after all everything was only lit by the forgiving disco lights and although very much part of the group you felt that you could work to your own ability with Jacs guidance without any pressure in your own little clubbercise world. I am definitely hooked and will be back for the next session for a little bit or reminiscent escapism and I will definitely be bringing my nearest and dearest.

Rob Stevens and Graham Pearce (formerly of Bristow and Short, Oakengates) have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the joinery trade and the manufacture of quality bespoke joinery products. “The construction of quality bespoke joinery is our speciality.” Conservatories, windows, doors, wooden flooring, staircases, traditional sliding sash windows etc. can be constructed of either hardwood or softwood and tailored to suit the customers taste and design requirements. Bespoke Joinery Individually tailored internal and external joinery. Products such as conservatories, entrance porches, patio doors, internal and external doors and frames, sash and traditional windows, staircases, kitchen unit doors and many more products are all hand made on site. These can be constructed of hardwoods such as Sapele, Oak, Ash, Idigbo etc. Or best quality unsorted joinery such as softwood.
A cutting and wood machining service is also provided. Sheet materials such as plywood, MDF or laminate can be cut to your requirements. Softwood and hardwoods can be machined to the customers spec. Mouldings such as architraves, skirting boards and picture rail can usually be duplicated in a variety of timbers such as oak, sapele, utile and unsorted joinery quality softwood to name but a few. A range of timbers are kept in stock, although some of the more unusual ones are only ordered on request. We can assist in all areas of design for all project sizes, and, to suit all budgets. Our wealth of knowledge and experience in the

Glow Beauty Studio was founded at Teagues Crescent in Trench in the summer of 2012, and has since opened a second based at Gnosall, near Newport. Three permanent staff are now based at each site, alongside owner Natasha Grigg who divides her time between the two.She said: “When we set up as a new business, the cost implications of taking on new members of staff were a big issue for us. “That’s why we decided to go down the apprenticeship route, and the partnership we have built up with Telford College has been brilliant. “They have given us a choice of potential apprentices, and offered us all the help and support we need.”
So far, Glow has taken on three apprentices through TCAT, and two of them – Ellie Boden from Admaston, and Dee Parsons from Little Dawley – remain key members of the team. Natasha said: “Both of them came in with level two qualifications in beauty, and we have worked with Telford College to take them through their level three beauty apprenticeship. “It is an ongoing situation for us. As people like Ellie and Dee complete their apprenticeship and take on full-time jobs, we need more juniors to come through and follow in their footsteps.“So I am sure we will be looking to take on additional apprentices in partnership with Telford College as our business continues to grow in the coming months.”
Photos: Ellie and Dee at work The two Glow studios offer a wide range of services including tanning, nail treatments, eyebrow shaping, waxing, facials, eyelash extensions and make-up. The team also offer an array of massages and other holistic treatments such as reflexology and Hopi ear candles. Natasha is no stranger to the beauty therapy qualifications on offer at Telford College – she studied there for her own NVQs in Beauty, and Nail Technology in 2006.
When she left TCAT, she worked at several five-star salons and spas, including a spell on a cruise ship, before returning to her Telford roots to launch the Glow business.“Since our opening in August 2012, we have surpassed all expectations,” she said. “Our second salon, The Beauty Station by Glow, opened in Gnosall last December, and has been well received.
