The mongolian experience!
As we entered Jenko’s we were greeted by a welcoming member of staff who offered us drinks. We were so eager to sample the delights on offer, that we had arrived a little early. Whilst our table was being prepared we went to the bar where local customers sat enjoying a relaxing drink. We sat by the open fire and I could have stayed there all night! It was a beautiful setting. As we walked through in to the amazingly designed log cabin, we walked past the self-select food bar and the large open circular hotplate; it instantly excited me and I knew we were in for a treat. We were stunned - the inside of the log cabin was beautiful. It gave a warm and welcoming romantic feel, each table lit with a single candle flickering a soft warm glow. Once at our table the waitress brought over the menu for our starters; it was such a hard decision to make. Each dish sounded delightful! On the menu were Garlic Mushrooms, Mongolian Skewered
Mutton Kebabs and Spinach Tartlets to name just a few. My partner Simon a mushroom lover opted for the Garlic Mushroom; he enjoyed every mouthful. The mushrooms were fresh and well complimented in a creamy wine and garlic sauce presented perfectly with a fresh ciabatta. He said it was the best dish he has ever had! I opted for the Mongolian Skewered Mutton Kebabs that came drizzled in a sweet chilli sauce; the combination was divine! A pleasure to my pallet, the lamb was mouth-watering and was served with a side salad which included olives and grapes. This dish is a must try! I would recommend it to all that dine at Jenko’s. After our starters it was the moment we had both been waiting for! The Mongolian BBQ! Our waitress, who was an absolute credit to the restaurant, asked if we would like any side orders. I had Ciabatta Garlic Bread whilst Simon ordered Crispy Homemade Chips. The chips were the best I’ve ever had and I
couldn't stop myself from pinching them from him!
We went up to the self select bar where you have a bowl and pick your selected ingredients; there were so many different things to choose from. The meat included Chicken, Tikka Chicken, Pork, Tandoori Pork, Gammon, Beef, Old Smoked Haddock, King Prawns & Mussels and Sausage. After we had decided on our meat it was time to pick our vegetables; there is such a vast variety! From onions to bean sprouts, carrots, mushrooms, sweet corn, broccoli only to name a few! Once we had picked what we wanted in our bowls we headed over to another area filled with all the spices, flavourings and sauces you could imagine! This is where it gets exciting and your taste buds spring into action! If you are a little unsure about what flavour you want there are some traditional Mongolian recipes above to help you out! I decided on the Chilli Khan Do! Simon was more adventurous and opted for various

different spices! We moved over to the large griddle where it was cooked before our very eyes; this is where the magic happens! The chef was cooking 5 different dishes for various customers as well as ours! And after a short wait our creation was ready! Now we could pick a savoury side; you could choose from pasta, noodles or rice. I had noodles and rice and Simon had the noodles. Back at our table and as the traditional music rung out we tucked in. As I was eating I felt spoilt! The meat was succulent and infused with flavour. Our meals were perfect.
On to our desserts, finishing off our Jenko’s experience. Our waitress brought over the dessert menu and we were blown away, there were so many delicious dishes to choose from. Too many to list. I ordered the Triple Chocolate Brownie described as “A chocolate lover’s paradise! WOW! I was in for a treat. The brownie was mouth–watering; it was soft and melted in my mouth complimented by a smooth thick chocolate sauce and a helping of fresh whipped cream supporting a small flaked chocolate. Simon ordered from the cheesecake menu, Banoffee cheesecake took his fancy; a topping of rich banoffee toffee with fresh banana sat on a blanket of light caramel sauce. When asked to describe it in two words he replied “The Best!” - he was taken away. The different textures were heavenly and despite our tummies being full to the brim he could have eaten it over and over! Jenko’s also do an all you can eat carvery on Sundays. Simon and I will definitely be back to sample a plate or two! If that wasn't enough for you, Jenko’s offer a delivery service! Sunday lunch to your door, - I will eat to that!
Finally, I would like thank Mark & his staff at Jenko’s for the service and care we received on our visit. The staff are an asset to the business and without the excellent teamwork I witnessed, Jenko’s would not be able to be as successful as they are today.
Thank you Jenko’s, and from THE HYPE we wish you every success in the future. (Written by Jasmine Clemson).

IN THE HEART OF IRONBRIDGE White Hart Cafe Bar & Bistro The Wharfage, Ironbridge, TF8 7AW 01952 432901
White Hart Cafe Bar & Bistro THE HYPE REVIEW
On a lovely spring evening after taking a stroll along the River Severn, listening to the sound of the birds, and taking in the stunning view of the world famous Ironbridge, my best friend Joanne and I felt the hunger pangs kicking in and decided to try out the newly refurbished White Hart Café Bar & Bistro.
Dating back to the 1700’s, this historic building has been brought right up to date with a transformation that will leave you astounded. Developed in 2004 by Alex Nicoll; he has recently taken over again to bring the site up to date in a new guise as cafe bar and bistro.
On entering the secluded terrace, we could see a lot of changes had been made to this quirky 17th century building. Freshly painted exterior, lovely lighting, beautiful flowers, and a board outside that read, “Can you just use the loo?, pay on card? Bring in a well behaved child or dog? YES!” already we were feeling welcome, not to mention the smell of the food in the air, which left us excited to see what else would unfold inside. We made our way to the Bar area and we could see that a dramatic difference has been made; the White Hart was alive
once more… We were greeted by Gareth, the assistant manager, and offered drinks - whilst we waited for our drinks to be served, we noticed that they offer a great selection of drinks from beers, real ales, medal winning wines to champagne. I opted for Pino Grigot Rose and Joanne ordered a soft drink of orange. Their cask ales are supplied by The Coach House Brewing Co. Ltd & Marstons PLC & include
some great named ales such as Honey Pot, Doom Bar & the famous Blueberry Bitter.
We enjoyed sitting at our table, there is a relaxing ambient setting with fresh white roses and candles adorning every table with freshly painted walls and a lovely contemporary feel. The lovely the smell of beautiful food filled the air, which made it a pleasure to choose from the delightful
menu - which boasts some fantastic unique dishes cooked to your liking by head chef Katie Bradley and team, using fresh produce, sourced locally.
After a few changes of mind, I opted for the pan seared scallops, crab and fennel Ceviche, lettuce and Gazpacho. Joanne chose Asparagus, pea and feta salad with hazelnut dressing. As Joanne is expecting, they were more than happy to substitute some of the ingredients to suit her pregnancy. I must admit the scallops were fabulous a taste sensation, cooked to perfection with fresh herbs, and every mouthful boasted a multitude of flavours, that pleased the palette. Joanne’s Asparagus salad was just simply amazing, with a wonderful dressing. We were extremely happy and this was only the starter!
Having a break in between courses we decided to wander into the secluded terrace overlooking the river. We noticed that they had boxes full of fresh herbs as well as olive trees too. All of these herbs are used on a daily basis in most of the dishes. The patio area is a lovely place to sit and would be a great place to dine in the summer, on those warm evenings.
The White Hart1_Double Page Editorial 27/05/2014 19:27 Page 2
Entering back into the building for our main course we discovered even more to this delightful establishment; the ambient lovely lit setting was so homely , friendly and welcoming.
Timed perfectly, out came our mains – I had ordered Roast rump of lamb, cauliflower cous cous, spiced samosa with lentil puree yoghurt and coriander. My goodness the lamb was deliciously cooked and seasoned perfectly, the samosa was a wonderful texture and the cous cous extremely tasty – the infusion of flavours were exquisite. Joanne elected for Pan fried breast of chicken, braised leg croquette, pancetta, grelots, morels and broad beans. Her words were, “it’s like a rainbow in your mouth” - every mouthful did not disappoint and is sure she will return again.
Onto the puddings for me - Orange and Almond cake, lemon custard and candied pistachios with burnt orange caramel. The Orange and Almond worked so well together; a divine pudding, and I was extremely happy with the experience! Joanne revelled in the chocolate brownie, chocolate crumb and peanut butter
parfait... Oh my …we were in pudding heaven - to say the least. The service was excellent and all the staff very, attentive. After our delightful meal we felt totally satisfied and relaxed and decided to take a seat in the lounge area and let our dinner settle. We sank into the lovely comfort of a leather Chesterfield settee, by the log burning fire. As we chatted about our dinner experience, we had a lovely home from home feeling. Alex and his team have most definitely worked hard to turn The White Hart into a fantastic, friendly, modern, contemporary, delightful diamond nestled in the valley of Ironbridge.
If you wish to extend your experience, then there are 5 beautiful En-suite bedrooms, including a family room, enabling you to explore the local area and its fantastic attractions. Why not test your knowledge by joining the local quiz night every Thursday night?
So whether you just want a coffee & a sandwich, a light lunch, main course or Sunday lunch, then escape from the outside world and lose yourself with great
food, great staff and a great atmosphere… The White Hart Café & Bistro bar is highly recommended by The Hype team. They also cater for functions, and have new exciting plans for upstairs. All will be revealed…..

REFURBISHMENT NEARS COMPLETION AT BENGAL SPICE
A very friendly welcome to a relaxed and comfortable restaurant. Although at time of review still undergoing refurbishment this gem shines through with both locals and people from further afield, travelling to experience a true taste of India. In business for 14 years, Anwar and Ash have enjoyed success in this conveniently situated Dawley High Street venue. On escaping the cold March evening into Bengal Spice, we were greeted with the warmth of both smiles and spices. Instantly feeling at ease and welcome we were shown to one of the few remaining tables.
On viewing the menu we were both spoilt for choice with so many delicious sounding options. We tucked into the poppadoms and the four dips - mint yoghurt, lime pickle, onion salad and Mango Chutney, whilst we made our minds up. Being partial to Indian food we stuck to our favourite usual options of Onion Bhaji and Tandoori Chicken both with fresh salad and a homemade mint sauce. Both did not disappoint- the bhaji was crunchy and flavoursome and the tandoori chicken was both generously portioned and cooked to perfection full of lovely flavour. After nearly filling up on the starter we had a small break while we enjoyed the wine we had brought with us as the premises is unlicensed. After a half time break we were served
our piping hot delicious mains. Rachel had opted for a chicken korma - although not spicy she always finds that if this is done well the hotter curries follow suit. The korma was both creamy, buttery and completely moreish. The chicken was cooked to perfection. I opted for a garlic lamb balti with extra corriander, again a tasty option with the lamb succulently cooked in a beautifully spiced balti sauce. For sides we ordered the keema pilau rice that was both
plentiful and full of taste and texture and a garlic keema nan - a leavened bread filled with spicy mince lamb and garlic, all baked in a clay oven.
This meal was extremely satisfying and the menu is both extensive and very reasonably priced. For the more adventurous curry connoisseur, the menu boasts a choice of balti, curry, biriani, sagwalla and vegetarian option with a section dedicated to chefs’ recommendations for something different. We were also impressed to note
that if there is a dish not on the menu, if possible they are happy to prepare it for you.
As well as the standard menu options there are six set menu options - a perfect option for 2-4 people, allowing all to try an array of delights from the restaurant’s various dishes. Our meal at Bengal Spice was a delight, a haven from the hustle and bustle of Telford. The already popular restaurant can only gain more prestige and custom from the nearly completed refurbishment. The good already stands up on it's own, with a regular customer base both ordering for take out and eating in. They also provide outside catering for events and can take bookings for parties and special occasions. On leaving the restaurant we were both warm, full and content, with Anwar and Ash's friendly personalities making us feel relaxed and welcome - ensuring a repeat trip in the near future!
Open Sunday-Thursday 5.30pm- 11.30pm and Friday- Saturday 5.30pm - Midnight and closed on Mondays ( except bank holidays) - we are both looking in our diaries to book our next free day in. Come and taste the delights for yourself. If you don't have time for a sit down meal then take advantage of the take away service, with free home delivery within a 3 mile radius.

Andreas took over the reins at The Silver Fish 4 years ago, although the business has been in the family for over 30 years. They have a 5* food hygiene rating which is great! The busy fish and chip shop serves everything you would expect from succulent cod in batter to delicious kebabs, but the real gem is found at the rear of the shop where you will find a café. We went to see Andreas and his team and try out some of the food on offer. It was one of those rare sunny days, so it was really pleasant sitting in the cool café. My colleague Stef, who is a lover of fish, opted for the classic Battered Cod, Chips & Mushy Peas, and I fancied something with a bit of spice, so I opted for a Chicken Kebab with fresh Salad and Chilli Sauce & Mayo. We chose a chilled soft drink and went and took a seat. In no time at all our food arrived, and we tucked in. Stef, was impressed with his fish, it was massive, with pure white flaky and succulent cod, and the batter was light and crispy. The chips are perfect, chunky and golden with that irresistible smell that you only get with ‘proper’ chips! You can’t go wrong with the classic mushy pea to compliment fish and chips, they are a must. My kebab was amazing, packed with both plain chicken and tikka chicken, in a large pitta bread, the salad was beautiful and fresh, and the chilli sauce and mayo topped it off perfectly. It was a struggle to finish it all as the portions are big, but we managed as it was too tasty to leave any. The team at The Silver Fish are friendly and welcoming and the food and service is excellent.

29 & 30 AUGUST
www.t-live.co.uk
T-Live is back for two nights of amazing live music at Telford Town Park this summer, just minutes from the exciting new Southwater development and Telford Shopping Centre. It’s party night on Friday 29 August, with 80s giants ABC and Go West joining pop legend Rick Astley and local soul diva Jaki Graham for a truly spectacular start to the weekend. Rick Astley’s trademark rich tone and soulful delivery saw him become an overnight pop sensation. Debut single Never Gonna Give You Up soared to number one in the UK and 16 other countries worldwide, and he still holds the record of being the only male solo artist to have his first eight singles reach the UK Top Ten. ABC, fronted by lead singer Martin Fry, burst onto the scene with their debut album the Lexicon of Love. It topped the UK charts producing a string of classic singles including the Look of Love, All of My Heart, Tears
Are Not Enough and Poison Arrow.
Go West notched a series of Top Ten hits in the mid 80s including We Close Our Eyes, Call Me, Goodbye Girl and Don't Look Down, earning them a BRIT Award for "Best British Newcomer". The King Of Wishful Thinking from their third album, Indian Summer, later featured in the blockbuster Pretty Woman.
Celebrating more than 35 years in the industry, Jaki Graham will be joining the boys at T-Live’s 80s party night. The Birmingham-born singer’s early hits include Round and Around, Could It Be I’m Falling In Love? (duet with David Grant) and the timeless anthem Set Me Free. The festival feel continues on Saturday 30 August with British pop rock band Lawson and special guests Union J. The packed line-up also includes singer-songwriter TiCH, pop newcomers Only The Young, YouTube sensation Harvey and Telford’s very
own Bandslam winners.
Headliners Lawson only released their first single in 2012 but have already had three Top Five hits and Top Ten debut album “Chapman Square” – named after the address of the flat where the majority of the foursome’s songs were written. Union J are hotly tipped to follow in the footsteps of other boy bands made famous by The X Factor, such as JLS and One Direction, attracting a gathering fan base of devoted Jcats. T-Live tickets are on sale now with special discounts for families, U16s, groups and Telford Loyalty Card holders.
Don’t miss out! Get your tickets at www.t-live.co.uk or from Oakengates Theatre @ The Place on 01952 382382.
Chrissy Hynde1_Double Page Editorial 29/04/2014 15:52 Page 1
also features some guitar work from Hynde’s long-time friend John McEnroe, who swapped the tennis court for the recording studio.
Chrissie Hynde has been a Pretender for over 35 years, selling 25 million records and scoring eight top 10 hits, including two number ones. So why now, over 40 years since she moved to London from Ohio in a bid to follow her artistic dream, has one of the most iconic female rock stars decided to release an album, entitled Stockholm, under her own name?
“Whenever I am in New York I will drag him up onstage and he is one of these guys that just loves rock music. And Bjorn is a tennis fan, and when I realised that I thought ‘okay, okay, let’s get John in the studio.’ Bjorn was thrilled to meet him, as people love John. Of all the famous people I have met, he is one of the most beloved. He’s a real man of the people. He’s the bad boy, and people relate to that.”
“It’s because I’ve been asked about it for 30 years and I thought ‘you know what – f*ck it’. Every time I put a Pretenders album out people say ‘it’s just you, isn’t it? But no, it’s not, it’s always been a band. And the irony is this has been more of a collaboration than any Pretenders album ever was, because I co-wrote all the songs. Normally with The Pretenders I write the songs and take them to the band. And this was a collaboration. But none of the guys I was working with in Sweden were prepared to leave Stockholm and the projects they were working on to come to London. So I was stuck with just me.”
Hynde has always had a rebellious streak herself, and has been a champion of animal rights. Today, she is railing against what she calls ‘glory rock’. What does she mean?
“Family values, wholesome ethics. The thing I like about rock ‘n’ roll is it is irreverent. It has become too reverential. Oh look, I don’t know. It wasn’t meant to be a statement. But there’s not enough ‘f*ck off’ in music anymore, it’s too safe.’
THE GREAT PRETENDER
Chrissie Hynde plays London’s Royal Festival Hall June 14, five days after the release of debut solo album, Stockholm!
The “guys in Sweden” include Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John (famous for their omnipresent Young Folks single), who began working with Hynde after a chance meeting in Cleveland, Ohio. Hynde’s publishers by that point had already played her some of Yttling’s music and put him forward as a potential collaborator, something she says
“happens all the time these days, as it used to do it many years ago - there is lots of co-writing.” Working in Stockholm did not just influence the album title, but the sound, which Hynde described as a cross between Abba and John Lennon. “Obviously, it has got a very Swedish feel, it was made with all Swedish guys so it
has that flavour. It is a fertile place as far as music making goes.”
But Yttling is not the most famous name on Stockholm: legendary songwriter Neil Young appears on one track. Hynde, 62, described it excitedly as the highlight of her career. Is that really how she feels?
“There is no question about it. If you play guitar, then you adore him. I only got him to play because I wanted to impress Bjorn. That’s the only way I got the guts to ask him in the first place. I knew him a bit, but not to the extent where I could ring him up and ask him to play on my record. But the song already sounded like him, so it was perfect. And it impressed Bjorn.” Perhaps even more unlikely, the album
Does she think she has mellowed over the years? “I don’t know. I suppose if I’m still swearing in interviews then I can’t have mellowed too much”.
That much is evident: for Hynde, the music is paramount and everything else comes secondary - just the way it has always done. “I’m not too bothered about whether a record does well or not because I’ve never really cared that much. I’m not supposed to say that, because I’m supposed to be more ambitious. But really? I don’t care too much.” Interview supplied by: Interview Hub

Glastonbury Festival
Wednesday 25th - Sunday 29th June 2014. Worthy Farm, Pilton, Shepton Mallet, Somerset. Glastonbury is best known for its music, but also features dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret and many other arts. In fact it is the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world. Glastonbury normally takes place on the last full weekend of June, and is known to take a year off now and then to give both the land (a working farm) and the locals a chance to recover.
Beacon Festival
2014
FESTIVALS
Friday, June 20th, 2014 Watlington Hill Farm, Christmas Common, Oxon. Beacon Festival is a high summer weekend of music, art and FUN! A boutique family event celebrating the longest day of summer high up on The Chiltern Hills of South Oxfordshire. It may be the furthest point from the sea but there will be a hot, holiday feel to this event, sparking the epitome of summer with a weekend of enlightened entertainment and the best sunset for miles! Beacon festival brings a new vibe to a legendary place. Staged at Watlington Hill Farm, the site of the infamous Music On The Hill (MOTH) festival. Lindsay Howard-Dean who took over the farm from her parents a couple of years ago had the idea to re-ignite the flame, and with some gentle persuasion and a bit of arm twisting, put together a crack team of organisers. The festival will host over 40 bands performing across 3 stages, a food piazza of some of the regions finest gourmets and gastronomical delights, real ale, local cider and cocktail bars, a creative shopping experience, art exhibition, workshops, a fun-filled children’s zone, relaxing holistic therapy, indulgent hot tubs and of course camping including posh tents for that extra bit of luxury.
Download Festival 2014
Donnington Park, DE74 2RP, UK 13th-15th June 2014 The name Download was chosen for the festival for two reasons. Downloading was a dirty word in the music industry at the time, due to file sharing, and rock is seen as a rebellious genre of music. The organizers faced pressure from the rest of the industry, with some even claiming that the Download Festival would “destroy the music industry”. Also Download was to be a Monsters Of Rock for the 21st century and the internet would provide connectivity with its audience. SLIPKNOT have been announced as the third headliner at Download Festival on Friday 14 June 2013, marking the band’s second headline appearance following an explosive set in 2009. They join fellow headliners Iron Maiden on Saturday 15 June and Rammstein on Sunday 16 June.

Here at 2000 trees we are obsessed with the British music scene, and our aim is to provide you with the opportunity to discover your new favourite band. Bands that you’ll be telling your mates about for months and years to come. Bands that are either brand-spanking new or have spent far too long flying below the mainstream radar. V Festival 2014
16th-17th August 2014 Hylands Park, Chelmsford & Weston Park in Stafford. The V Festival is an annual music festival in England, the first to be held simultaneously at two sites. Originally, the festival took the name of the current year, with the first festival being named “V96″. Since 2003 it has been known as simply the V Festival. Weston Park is one of the most welcoming stately homes with as much character as any English castle and with as many stories as any Royal home. The grounds of Weston Park combine 1,000 acres of natural beauty with three centuries of garden design. From the formal lines and long avenues of the 17th century gardens to the unique style added by ‘Capability’ Brown in the 18th century.
Wychwood Festival
Cheltenham Racecourse, Prestbury Park, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire Friday 30thst May – Sunday 1nd June 2014. Family-friendly, intimate and inclusive for audience and musician alike, blending world, roots and contemporary music, and encouraging new collaborations. There’s also comedy, workshops, and more. Wychwood Festival has established itself as being one of the best family festivals in the UK, and prides itself on its eclectic mix of Indie, pop, world and folk music programming combined with comedy (sponsored by eFestivals.co.uk), solar powered cinema, loads of workshops, seminars and creative activities for all ages, all on a compact site at Cheltenham Racecourse, with idyllic camping under the Prestbury Hills.
Isle of Wight
Thursday 12th – Sunday 15th June 2014 Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight. The revived 2002 Festival consisted of a big 1 day concert – Rock Island – and a number of small events held over two weeks at small venues scattered around the Island. What was Rock Island is now the ‘Isle of Wight Festival’, which has been a sold-out three-day event ever since 2004. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable weekend of music and excitement!

Robbie Williams 'SWINGS
BOTH WAYS LIVE' TOUR
Swings into the LG Birmingham!
WHO’S THE DADDY! ‘
Robbie Williams’ spectacular “Swings Both Ways Live” tour, opened on April 25th in Budapest. The tour features songs from both of his number one swing albums, “Swing When You’re Winning” and last years huge No 1 album , “Swings Both Ways” – as well as some classic Robbie career favourites.
Last year saw Robbie perform a one off swing show at The Palladium featuring several special guests, including Robbie’s dad – Pete Conway. Pete will join Robbie once again on this tour, performing at one point in the show with his son. Robbie will be dressed by Saville Row tailor Spencer Hart and joined by a classic big band and eight dancers. Robbie and long time collaborator and show producer, Lee Lodge, have added the talents of West End choreographer and performer Alistair David (Fosse, The Sound of Music, Tonight’s The Night, Sinatra at the London Palladium) to ensure the show is an all singing all dancing extravaganza.
Robbie said of the tour,
“This Swings Both Ways tour is very different from any previous Robbie Williams tour, and I think it’s going to be very special. When I was young the television companies in the UK saw fit to broadcast replay after replay after replay of all the classic old musicals. I think most kids my age were bored and turned off by things like that, but I wasn’t. I was engrossed in it all, lost in the magic of the glamour, and entranced by the craftsmanship of those times. I want this to be a show that gives you the same feeling that I used to have at my grandma’s on a Saturday night, watching the Morecambe & Wise show on TV: a show with variety and lots of showbusiness moments. I know my jazz hands are going to be so tired after this tour. I intend to do my very best to ensure that every one of you is heavily entertained.” To follow all the action, fans can sign up to Upfront with Robbie Williams, a brand new service documenting
Robbie’s progress across Europe, the UK and Australia. Members can go backstage and behind the scenes with access to exclusive photos, videos and live tracks, plus phone calls and texts from Robbie and the chance to meet the man himself on tour. For more information visit Live.RobbieWilliams.com!

The Perfect Smile is... Just A Call Away!
ARE YOU UNHAPPY WITH YOUR SMILE? MAYBE EVEN EMBRASSED?
WISH YOUR TEETH WERE STRAIGHTER BUT YOU DONT WANT TO WEAR BULKY BRACES OR BREAK THE BANK TO ACHIEVE THAT SMILE.
DR EMILY WRIGHT BDS OF ESTHETIQUE DENTAL PRACTICE HAS COME ACROSS MANY PATIENTS WHO FEEL THIS WAY.
However she says that Patients no longer need to feel like this as there are discreet options now available; she offers braces that are almost invisible to the human eye. These discreet solutions could signal the end of self-confidence issues for people who have been afraid to show off their smiles as a result of misaligned teeth. Emily says “many patients can live their lives covering their smile, hiding behind their hands when they talk or laugh. They fear the pain, inconvenience and expense of treatment but there are options available to them. I am pleased to be able to offer Six Month Smiles® and Quick Straight Teeth as potential solutions for patients.
Six Months Smiles® is an Orthodontic system that allows you to have straightened teeth in approximately six months. If you want to improve the appearance of the teeth that show when you smile without significantly impacting your bite alignment then this could be right for you.
Quick Straight Teeth could be the option for you if you have a mild to moderate crowding or protrusion of your front teeth. Both Options offer straight teeth in less time using clear braces. To find out more and know if you are suitable for these treatments then please contact Esthetique Dental to book an appointment for a free no obligation consultation.

The new criteria for eligibility for free nursery places for two year olds was issued by Government to be introduced from September 2014, but here in Telford and Wrekin we are using the new criteria from now.
Telford & Wrekin Council are offering free early education and childcare places to eligible 2 year olds . This is part of the Government’s plans to offer the most disadvantaged 2 year olds free early education and childcare places. There are many benefits for young children to attend these childcare places. Quality early learning provides opportunities for young children to develop their skills; creating, communicating and exploring in a safe environment with qualified childcarers. These places mean that parents can either go to work or study for qualifications while their children are cared for for free.
Children who join in in early years learning often find it easier when they go to school because they have already had the chance to express themselves socially, creatively, physically and emotionally through play. They will be more confident relating to other children and adults. More nursery and childminder places have been created locally for the extra 2 year olds and if you ask at your local nursery, they may just have a place for your child.
You can find details of all the local nurseries and childminders by contacting Family Connect on: 01952 385385
So, if you have a toddler who will be 2 during 2014 you can apply for a free place for your child if one or more of the following criteria applies to you:
• Meet the criteria for Free School Meals
• You receive working tax credits and have household gross yearly income of no more than £16,190
• The child has a current statement of SEN or an Education, Health and Care Plan
• The child attracts Disability Living Allowance
• They have left care through special guardianship or an adoption or residency order (including Children in Care)
Your child is entitled to a free place if
Your child’s 2nd birthday falls between
They become entitled to a free place from
1 April – 31 August

1 January – 31 March

Unlock their potential with Kumon
At Randlay, Telford Study Centre, Kumon offers individualised maths and English study programmes for all ages and abilities. Established for over 50 years, the Kumon programmes enable children to develop their study skills and confidently tackle advanced work.
At the start of the new school year, it is important to ensure children are equipped with the most vital tools needed for a successful year ahead; a good grip on the core subjects of maths and English and the learning skills required for academic progression. Children can require additional support to get back into the
swing of daily study, and many parents look to supplementary education to get their child off to a flying start and ensure they maximise their potential throughout the year.
On both programmes, students start at their own, individually set, starting point and move through the levels at their own pace. Having built a strong foundation in the way they study, including developing pace, concentration and rhythm, students begin to work independently. At Kumon, learning is always for the long run: the programmes prepare students for a successful future filled with endless opportunities.
The mother of Randlay, Telford Study Centre student Sonia says: “We started (Kumon) last September, and by Easter the teacher asked us what we were doing, because Sonia's English work and reading had improved so much. I told them it was all down to the kumon programme.” For more information or to book a FREE Assessment, contact Instructor Jacqueline Evans on 01952 463352 or email randlaytelford@kumoncentre.co.uk.

INDOOR MARKET: Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. OUTDOOR MARKET: Every Wednesday and Saturday and Farmers’ Market last Friday of every month Oswestry Town Council plays a vital role in making Oswestry a vibrant Market Town for both residents and its visitors. Markets in Oswestry date back some 800 years. Our Indoor Market is open each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and Outdoor Markets are held every Wednesday and Saturday. Our local Farmers’ Market is normally held on the last Friday of each month. Oswestry Markets received a great accolade in being awarded the Best Local Council Market for 2013 by the National Association of British Market Authorities. This acknowledged the huge investment that the Council has made in the Indoor Market in terms of facilities and promotion. Cae Glas Park is widely recognised as our local jewel in the crown. Throughout the year the gardens are a blaze of glory and
the Park has been a major factor in Oswestry, receiving a Gold Award in each of the last 9 years from Heart of England in Bloom. In the Park are traditional games such as bowls, tennis and crazy golf and a children’s playground, that has been substantially refurbished. Through the summer a series of Sunday concerts are held in the bandstand. Why not bring a picnic and enjoy this wonderful open space in the centre of our town?
Oswestry Visitor & Exhibition Centre is a landmark building in the town; built in 1407 it was the second oldest grammer school in the country. The building is now a magnet for visitors to its arts and craft exhibitions and sales. It has a charming coffee shop, offering a menu of local delicacies, and here you can find all about Oswestry in our town centre tourist information point.
The Town Council supports our town centre with many events throughout the year. Continental, specialist and local community markets appear regularly alongside our weekly traditional market days. The Oswestry Youth Music Festival attracts over a thousand youngsters each March, and Oswestry Christmas Live, on the first Friday in December, gives the town streets a buzz with fairground rides, stalls, live music, ice rink and a stunning firework finale.
There is a great pride and passion about Oswestry. There are so many attractions and activities to experience and as a Town Council we are delighted to play a supporting role in the day to day life of the town.

There is a saying that “An Englishman’s Home is His Castle” and whether that is interpreted as his stronghold or fortress and he feels safe and secure, or whether it is him being Lord of his manor and all he surveys full of lavish splendour and all the mod cons. Unlike the medieval times, the Lord of the Manor can’t raise taxes to fund his lavish surroundings and for any works that need doing he has to find the money from his own means and so he is not looking to pay a kings ransom to anyone.
Unfortunately, property improvements or maintenance don’t take care of themselves and there will be times when decisions need to be made and action taken. In times of austerity it is sometimes

You only really want to do this once, so it is important that you take every necessary step and be confident that what you are trying to convey to a builder is exactly what you want and there is no misunderstanding. Let’s start with the initial idea – say you want to turn your old bathroom into a wet room – where would you start? Look online or through the local newspaper and magazine publications for local builders in your area and contact 2 or 3 and ask them to come along to give you an estimate? You probably have some budget / figure in your mind, but might have no real idea of the costs involved in terms of labour or materials or the processes involved in the actual work. How do you make it abundantly clear to each of the builders exactly what you want? How can you be sure that the builder has interpreted this correctly?
How will you determine that the builders are all estimating on a like for like basis? Are they doing a complete survey or is it a few figures scribbled on the back of a cigarette packet?

It may be a case of thinking it isn’t too bad, I’ll leave it a little bit longer or until I have to act. The one thing you can be certain of is that the problem won’t go away and will become progressively worse and sometimes leaving it can lead to more large scale problems, cause health issues and inevitably a greater expense. It is better to be safe than sorry. And then there is the other side of owning a property, turning your house into a home and looking to make those improvements like a new kitchen, new bedroom or new bathroom – even transforming your bathroom into a wet

Making the right choice is extremely important because this is the start of a relationship and partnership and you have to get it right. We have all seen the programmes on cowboy builders and the heart break, the trauma, the costs involved etc . Where do you turn to? Who can you trust? How can you guarantee quality, service and value for money? The answer is simple …… just one call on 01743 458341 to Shropshire Home Services.
Shropshire Home Services can take away all the hassle, the worry and uncertainty from you and the process. Dedicated and committed workforce, approved contractors and a wealth of knowledge and experience to meet any challenge. 13 years of serving the people of Shropshire and being part of national plc organisation, simply means that you can have the trust and confidence of being in safe hands. We offer a free no obligation consultation and we can come and visit you in your home and listen to what you want and when you are not sure we can offer suggestions and advice, so together we can capture exactly what you want to achieve. Following this initial visit, should you want us to proceed further, we would advise a survey of the relevant areas of your home, prepare drawings and a schedule of works so there is no lack of clarity and you know exactly what you would be getting. There would be a charge in the region of £125 (+VAT) for this service (typical amount for converting bathroom to wet room), but this could then be used to gain a like for like estimate from any builder and the drawings and schedule should be enough to ensure that the builders interpretation is the same as yours. We can provide estimates from approved and preferred contractors and we can project manage the whole process from start to completion, or you can have certain elements of this to suit your
requirements. Should you elect to use Shropshire Home Services for the complete process we will deduct the initial payment.
Shropshire Home Services has the experience, the expertise and the ability to deliver the quality of service to meet your every need.
