I-94 WEST CORRIDOR COALITION

The I-94 West Corridor Coalition comprises businesses, individuals, and government agencies committed to improving I-94 and its support facilities. Our mission is to provide a strong, united voice advocating for transportation concerns along the I-94 corridor, from Maple Grove to St. Cloud. Our growing communities require foresight, planning, and relentless advocacy to ensure that Central Minnesota’s transportation needs are not forgotten.

We’ve experienced major success over the past years, which include:

The opening of additional lanes Highway 101 in Rogers to Highway 241 in St. Michael

Additional lanes and improved interchanges between Highway 241 in St. Michael and County Hwy 37/19 in Albertville

A new I-94 Interchange at Dayton Parkway (aka Brockton) in Dayton

Additional lanes between Highway 610 in Maple Grove and Highway 101 in Rogers

Additional lanes between Highway 25 in Monticello and Highway 24 in Clearwater

These projects have resulted in a 55% reduction in total travel delay and the completion of over 3 million square feet of new industrial development in the region.

Each June, thousands of residents and visitors gather for the Albertville Friendly City Days summer festival, one of the largest in the northwest metro. The festival has something for all ages including softball and soccer tournaments, a carnival, great live music throughout the weekend and of course fireworks.

A Farmers Market is held weekly throughout the summer in Central Park. It includes food and craft vendors, acoustic music, antique car shows, and a bi-monthly Music in the Park concert featuring local bands.

Albertville is home to many locally owned and operated businesses, medical and dental services, a successful industrial park, terrific restaurants and one of Minnesota’s premier outlet malls. Since opening over 20 years ago, the Albertville Premium Outlet Mall attracts over four million visitors annually making Albertville a destination City. Shop STMA is a group of local St. Michael and Albertville businesses with a mission to promote shopping locally.

There are a number of exciting things to do in Albertville. Local amenities include a 18 hole championship golf course, the St. Michael-Albertville Ice Arena, locally operated restaurants, and retail centers. Residents enjoy Albertville’s many parks, strong local school systems, neighborhood trail systems, and community events. Park features include playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, baseball and soccer fields, and gazebos. Some special features in our parks system are a skate park, a fenced-in dog park, and a free, lighted, outdoor winter hockey rink.

WCEDP is a 501(c)3 Not For Profit Organization that aims to create a healthy and diverse environment for new and existing businesses and to increase job opportunities in Wright County.

Corcoran is a picturesque community with a balance of local businesses, residential neighborhoods, rural homesteads and farms, and a population of approximately 6,700 residents. With rolling hills, an attractive wooded countryside, and wildlife enriched wetlands, Corcoran maintains a rural atmosphere with a significant portion of land used for agricultural purposes. The city’s commercial and industrial development is poised for growth with thousands of acres of undeveloped land, and is the next attractive location for business investment.

CORCORAN COUNTRY DAZE

At Country Daze families can enjoy affordable and free entertainment, a softball tournament, and a city-wide festival to celebrate the country roots of Corcoran. Held in mid-August and sponsored by the NW Area Jaycees, big acts and many local bands have performed on stage. Vendors serving great food and beverages, police/fire/rescue displays, kids’ activities, a rock climbing wall, crafts, moon bounce, car show, and tractor displays are just some of the activities.

PARKS AND RECREATION HENNEPIN COUNTY

Corcoran facilities include a sheltered picnic area with restrooms, hockey/skating rinks and warming house, baseball/softball fields, tennis courts, a volleyball court, Memorial Garden, and the new Wildflower Park located in the Ravinia neighborhood. The combination of these facilities, along with two beautiful golf courses open to the public comprise the park and recreation system within the City.

The Hamel Rodeo is the largest professional rodeo in Minnesota. Held at the Corcoran Lions Park in early July, performances include bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, ladies’ barrel racing, and the bull ridin’ bonanza, along with the annual Hamel Rodeo Parade. All proceeds are shared between the Hamel Lions Club, HeinzenDitter VFW, John Pohlker American Legion, Hamel Volunteer Fire Department, and Lord of Life Military Family Support Ministry to better the community. Held annually in June at the Corcoran Lions Park, the fair includes a petting zoo, creative activities, demonstrations, kids’ activities, tasty fair food, a carnival, vendors, 4-H exhibits, demolition derby, and so much more! For more information visit: hennepincountyfair.com

Dayton is a wonderful place to live, work, play, and raise a family. Hence their theme - “Dayton - Live the Difference.” Dayton is a progressive community with a population just over 8,226. The City is fortunate to be located on both the Crow and Mississippi Rivers, which offer many scenic views. Enjoy the natural beauty of Elm Creek Park Reserve, where you can bike or walk for miles, or participate in programs at Eastman Nature Center. The City of Dayton’s mission is to promote a thriving community and to provide residents with a safe and pleasant place to live while preserving rural character, creating connections to natural resources, and providing customer service that is efficient, fiscally responsible, and responsive.

LIVING THE DIFFERENCE IN DAYTON DEVELOPMENT IN DAYTON, BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

Dayton continues to be a wonderful place to call home, work, and enjoy recreational activities. Located at the intersection of the Crow and Mississippi Rivers, the city enjoys scenic views and convenient access to the Elm Creek Park Reserve. A significant portion of the Park Reserve is located within the city, including the Eastman Nature Center.

As the City of Dayton has experienced an active period of residential development in recent years, it is also entering a time of increased non-residential development due to the addition of the Dayton Parkway Interchange. The Interchange opened in November 2021, bringing opportunities for new commercial and industrial businesses to the area.

PARKS AND RECREATION DAYTON ACTIVITY CENTER

Home to multiple parks, including the Elm Creek Park Reserve, countless recreation trails, and scenic frontage on the Mississippi & Crow Rivers will no doubt have you itching to play outside. Each season brings fun and exciting events and programs that celebrate our roots and showcase the scenery. Come #DiscoverDayton and learn how we are living the difference.

The Historic Village of Dayton is home to the Dayton Activity Center. This facility not only provides rental space for business meetings, weddings, and baby showers, but is the main hub for all recreation programming to promote physical, emotional, and social wellness for all ages.

The City of Hanover is a historic Crow River city valuing small town traditions. The North Crow River flows through the Downtown River District, providing Hanover with a scenic environment that sets the community apart. The city has seen modest growth over the last seven years, adding both new homes and new businesses each year. Hanover is a great place to live, work, and play.

With nine parks and seven miles of trails, residents have ample opportunities to take in the scenic environment. One unique amenity to the park system within Hanover is an archery range located in Riverside Park. Riverside Park is operated by Wright County, and also includes overnight camping and a canoe launch. Other parks feature typical amenities like playgrounds, basketball, hockey, baseball, etc.

Among many reasons families call Hanover home are the school districts serving the city. The largest service area is Buffalo Hanover Montrose Schools with Hanover Elementary located right in town. Hanover Elementary is a recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Award. The remaining two districts have a smaller service area and include St. Michael Albertville Schools and Rockford Schools.

PARK RESERVE HANOVER HARVEST FESTIVAL

Each year a dedicated group of individuals host the annual Hanover Harvest Festival on the first Saturday in August. The event is a one-day, action packed opportunity to take in a parade, compete in a 5K run, see a car show, play games, listen to live music, and experience many more fun activities, capped off by a fireworks display at dusk.

Three Rivers Park District’s Crow Hassan Park Reserve is a local gem. The park district recently completed a park master plan for Crow Hassan Park which identifies future maintenance and improvements. This park focuses on the natural environment, offering trails to observe an abundance of wildlife or to horseback ride. Learn more at:

Maple Grove is a forward-thinking, thriving community –home to over 71,000 residents and more than 1,600 businesses. There is still room to grow! Thoughtful growth and planning form the foundation for a community that knows where it is going and how to get there. Residents and business professionals appreciate the unique blend of large city conveniences and hometown specialties, miles of trails, signature amenities, and community events. This impressive combination creates an inviting community working toward a vibrant future.

RECREATION MEDICAL TECH INDUSTRY

Maple Grove takes pride in having over 50 parks and over 55 miles of scenic trails. Central Park, located in the heart of downtown Maple Grove, features a skate loop, interactive fountain, playground, sport courts, and more. Further north, Fernbrook Fields is a state-of-the-art athletic complex that features four full-size synthetic turf fields. The 19-acre site is perfect for athletic tournaments and community events. To continue to successfully serve a growing and diversifying population, the city is moving forward with an investment plan to update and expand the Community Center to support a wider range of programs and activities.

Home to several industry leaders and start-ups in medical device, bioscience, pharmaceuticals, and support services, Maple Grove is serious about seeing its health technology industry succeed. It is an epicenter of health technology with over 38 med-tech companies and home to five of the top 25 Minnesota medical technology companies. Maple Grove is moving forward with the Minnesota Health Village development, adjacent to Maple Grove Hospital. This 100-acre space is envisioned to someday be home to an array of medical office space and medical technology businesses. With its location at the intersection of three major interstates, and the new Highway 610 corridor, Maple Grove is poised for continued growth in healthcare.

RETAIL/ENTERTAINMENT HOUSING

Maple Grove has made its mark with a wide range of retail destinations, and experience driven opportunities are being implemented to enrich the retail assets. Maple Grove is home to the Arbor Lakes district which continues its evolution as a premier shopping and entertainment center. In addition, the makeover of Main Street is complete with improvements to the roadway, crosswalks, sidewalks, landscaping, and benches as well as opportunities for public art. Citizens will continue to see enhancements and amenities throughout Maple Grove, particularly as the northwest part of the city continues to develop.

The last decade has seen tremendous growth in housing. From rentals and single-family dwellings, to townhomes and senior living facilities, the city provides a wide range of options to accommodate the needs of all age groups and family structures. Housing options in close proximity to parks and trails factor into the residential development process and overall appeal.

The rich history of a farm village incorporated in 1875, Osseo is a charming city conveniently situated in the heart of expanding communities in a thriving Twin Cities metro area. We strive to make improvements in local infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for everyone. The goals set out in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update are to accommodate people of all ages, focus on the safety and wellbeing of the community, connect people to services, be business friendly, attract visitors and new residents, and support housing diversity that meets the needs of the community.

Park, built to honor Osseo residents who have served our country in the armed forces. In the spring, kids enjoy the Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt. The InterMarque Vintage Car Show attracts visitors from all over. Music and Movies in the Park brings people of all ages to the bandshell in the summer as well as live theatrical and musical performances in partnership with locally based Yellow Tree Theatre. In September, the whole town celebrates Lions Roar. Santa, a firetruck parade, and a bonfire warm the whole family at the winter Minidazzle festival and Osseo Lions Lunch with Santa. STRONG TRADITIONS

A goal to be all-age friendly, Osseo promotes healthy living principles, physically and emotionally, and encourages participation in the many fun options to get out and meet neighbors. Seniors gather to play Bingo in the community center and take free fitness classes. Youth sport skill-building classes gets kids from 2 – 12 outside learning together in the summer. The Farmers Market offers farm fresh local produce on Tuesday afternoons July – September right by the Park. In August, Nite to Unite organized by Police, Fire, and volunteers reminds us how safe and close our community can be.

Otsego is a growing Minnesota community of approximately 22,000 residents located at the northwest corner of the Twin Cities metro area, and continues to see steadily increasing residential and business growth, making it an attractive place to live and do business. Otsego covers over 30 square miles and has 42 miles of trail systems and is bordered by the Mississippi and Crow Rivers. Come and experience Otsego, where friendly meeting places and events are plentiful for residents and visitors.

The City of Otsego’s population in 2021 rose to 21,289 according to the US Census Bureau, which is an increase of 1,293 residents from the 2020 Census results. Otsego continues as the largest city in Wright County, and has continued to grow at a fast pace. The City continues to focus efforts on expanding commercial and industrial developments, as they provide employment opportunities, provide service options to the community and diversify the City’s tax base.

TRAILS RECREATION

Otsego continues to prioritize its trails system. Boasting just over 42 miles of trails, residents are able to traverse a majority of the City on the paved system. To further improve the City’s trail system, the City received a grant to aid the City in adding directional and informational signage throughout the trail system.

The City of Rogers is a vibrant and growing city on the edge of the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. PARKS & RECREATION, INCLUDING ALL NEW ROGERS EVENT CENTER OUTSTANDING SCHOOL

Rogers Parks and Recreation programs enhance your way of life with 452 acres of park land, 14 playgrounds, Senior Center, Community Room, the Rogers Activity Center ice rink, 20+ multipurpose play fields, 17 baseball/softball fields, and 35.9 miles of trails, paths, and sidewalks. The new crown jewel of these City facilities is 21st Century Bank Event Center at Lions Central Park, a multi-use space designed to accommodate a variety of event types. This unique facility features a grand hall for large events and celebrations, an adjoining meeting room, and a lobby area which will serve as a welcome/concession space for public events such as Entertainment in the Park. The building is an exciting addition to our community facilities and is also available for private rentals including meetings, weddings, and other celebrations.

ROCKIN’ ROGERS

The City of Rogers is home to the outstanding Rogers High School and the many acclaimed Rogers Royals sports and activity programs. With Rogers Middle School and two elementary schools rounding out a strong K-12 system, families with school-age children can be confident that a first-class education is available right here in the Rogers community. LOCAL CONNECTIONS: JOBS, COMMERCE, HOUSING

With A population of 14,000 people, Rogers boasts nearly 11,000 jobs from local employers spanning nearly all sectors. With a large industrial parks and retail core already thriving, continued commercial/industrial development helps bring new jobs and retail and service amenities, providing opportunities to both work and shop locally. A wide variety of housing choices from a new Class A apartment complex, to townhomes, urban single-family neighborhoods, and rural acreages provide options for every family to live, work and play in Rogers.

St. Michael is a growing community centrally located in the heart of Minnesota along I-94, about 30 minutes from downtown Minneapolis and St. Cloud. EVENTS LIVE & WORK

The City Center’s new additions make Town Center Park a great place to gather. Families can utilize the splash pad and park facilities, as well as indoor rentals to accommodate all weather conditions. Indoor and outdoor programming offer families the ability to attend events year-round. Town Center Park is home to the annual Daze and Knights Festival in early August, as well as the new WinterFest event the first weekend in December.

St. Michael is ranked the number three best city to live in Minnesota, according to an article released from Life in Minnesota. Community leaders work hard to continue to support the integrity of St. Michael, while offering economic development to meet the City’s vision. Staff works hard to promote a positive climate for both large and small businesses, including maintaining one of the lowest city tax rates in the area. Working with Shop STMA, I-94 West Chamber, Wright County Economic Development Partnership and others, the City makes sure businesses have what they need to succeed and prosper.

Did you know the I-94 West Chamber of Commerce has a long history of giving back to our communities?

From recognition and scholarships to awards and sponsored drives, we have found a number of unique ways to support those who need or deserve it in our region.

As a business centered organization, we understand the effort and hard work businesses and employees put into doing GREAT things. Not only do we recognize outstanding leaders and businesses at our Circle of Excellence Awards, we also show appreciation and support for others in our communities.

For many years, the I-94 West Chamber of Commerce has recognized those who serve at our First Responders Luncheon each May. This event reminds us of how close we are to someone who is a Paramedic/ EMT, Dispatcher, Law Enforcement Officer, or Firefighter. Their dedication to helping others in need is paramount for any community. It

is vital that we spend time positively recognizing them for their efforts and showing our appreciation for what they do to keep us safe and respond to emergencies. Each year, we give back all of our net proceeds from this event to Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Association (MNFFA), Law Enforcement Memorial Association (LEMA), and The Frontline Foundation.

We also see the importance of our future workforce. Each year, we award area high school students scholarships as they enter their next phase in life. Awards include five scholarships and recognition by the Chamber at an event.

We find it incredible that so many families in our region are in need, especially around the holidays. Several years ago, we began supporting local nonprofit organizations at our annual holiday luncheon. This festive event, thanks to the generosity of our membership, has allowed us to collect needed gifts and raise thousands of dollars!

Our Chamber is a growing organization of productive leaders constantly evolving to meet the needs of our business community in new and engaging ways. Our membership is extremely supportive of the communities where they work and we are proud of their efforts to support each one of these opportunities to give back!

Established in Delano in the 1800s and with a current enrollment of approximately 2,470 students, the district covers a large geographic area, which includes the communities of Corcoran, Loretto, and Medina. The K-12 campus for Delano School District is located on a 120acre site, which includes an elementary, middle, and high school.

There are four elementary schools in the STMA district serving portions of the communities of Albertville, Otsego, St. Michael, and Hanover. Albertville Primary serves students in kindergarten. North Hennepin Community College is a public community college in Brooklyn Park. It was founded in 1966 and is a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. NHCC offers associate degrees as well as certificates. North Hennepin also offers 13 bachelor’s degree programs through collaboration with universities in Minnesota. Full degrees for certain majors can be obtained via NHCC and courses required in other majors can also be taken at their campus.
