THE 10TH COUNCIL: OUR JOURNEY FEBRUARY 20, 2020 • FEBRUARY 19, 2021

INTRODUCTION

10TH ANNIVERSARY & 10TH COUNCIL PROSPECTUS

2020-2021

EDITOR'S NOTE It was in that moment I found ICMS, the glimmering needle threading Malaysians together in the global haystack… The rise of the 10th Council marked ICMS’ 10th year anniversary as a global, non-profit student organisation seeking to bring together talented, ambitious, motivated Malaysian youth to grow and develop professionally. Despite the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, ICMS continues to grow – holding virtual events with our Partners and Sponsors, reforming our internal structure to promote sustainable growth, and even piloting a new Chapter in Australia.

"...finding ICMS was like finding unexpected treasure on an otherwise ordinary day..."

As someone who lived most of her life outside Malaysia, finding ICMS was like finding unexpected treasure on an otherwise ordinary day, I entered university hoping to find friends from my home country, to see what it meant to be Malaysian in this era. As a business student, I sought to gain international exposure and develop professionalism and experience in a multinational student organisation. I have found both in ICMS. Like many before, I can attest to, ICMS truly abounds in gems of experience, brilliant colleagues from all over the globe and precious friends among my countrymen.

The re-designed Prospectus has several key features. First, this Prospectus serves to showcase our accomplishments as the 10th Council through the events we have held and the initiatives we pushed forth. Second, this Prospectus shows the people driving the Council forward, featuring their faces and personal sharings for the first time. Finally, this Prospectus aims to exude both the professionalism and youthfulness that characterises ICMS. This Prospectus would not have been possible without the help of the hardworking people alongside me. The Directors and Associates listed in the back of this issue have spent precious time writing and designing each page, planning the contents, and ensuring that we had everything we needed to fulfill our promises to stakeholders. If you come across them in real life, congratulate them on a job well done.

Along with everyone in the 10th Council, will never forget my time here and hope you, dear reader, will find a place like ICMS. Sincerely, Flame Lim Herng Xui 10th Council Secretarial Director, Hong Kong Chapter

…for an exciting adventure together as the very fabric of the 10th Council.

i

EDITOR'S NOTE

Thus, this Prospectus commemorates our achievements as the 10th Council, pays tribute to the legacy of our predecessors in past Councils, and inspires the future Councils to build upon these to reach greater heights.

10TH ANNIVERSARY & 10TH COUNCIL PROSPECTUS

2020-2021

FOUNDER'S FOREWORD Louis Chuo, Founder of ICMS

As ICMS crosses its 10th Anniversary milestone since its founding, we continue to be defined by the same, simple yet powerful philosophy when we first started: to bring together ambitious, motivated and aspirational youths who are keen on professional development. I am proud to say that our descendants have successfully kept the show going on for years, delivering returns that exceed the expectations of our stakeholders. Our motivation for continuous improvement takes heed from the generous support, trust and faith we have received from the long-term partnerships we forged the past decade.

ADDRESSES | FOUNDER'S FOREWORD

02

2020 has been another successful year with the 10th Council as we constantly build upon the three founding pillars of ICMS – Building Networks, Empowering Leaders and Realising Ideas – despite the challenges that came with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our global presence continues to grow and expand across international borders in our six established bases, with a sixth pilot Chapter in Australia starting with the 11th Council, and we can proudly say that we are the only Malaysian student-led organisation that has the ability to organise events and create platforms with such a global scale. By venturing over new horizons and constant manifestations of our vision and missions, we strive to build upon our position as the leading international Malaysianbased student organisation.

ADDRESSES

10TH ANNIVERSARY & 10TH COUNCIL PROSPECTUS

Our commitment to excellence and performance has been showcased in our solid brand value and sterling brand record. Our ongoing relationships with our corporate partners, past and present, have grown strength to strength, and this is reflected in their generous financial and strategic support: Strategic Partner: ICAEW Partner(s): Maybank, Sunway Group, Jeffrey Cheah Foundation Platinum Sponsor: Axiata

2020-2021

As part of staying relevant to the goals of our stakeholders, as well as our Partners and Sponsors, we remain committed to maintaining, refining and reaffirming our values while also re-inventing strategies to drive greater growth within the Council. By diversifying the Associate and MNC experience, expanding our network and truly utilising the source of talents we have, the 10th Council has continued to elevate platforms for the benefit of our fellow Malaysians. I am confident that the 10th Council has remained dedicated to the partnerships and projects we have cultivated over years of success. I hope that this prospectus sheds light on what we do and what we can do with you through the next Council, with ICMS, as well as interest you in forging a network with ICMS – an organisation where the people are our greatest asset.

My message for you today are words of faith and gratitude. It is your presence that helped us create the success that contributed to one of the largest, international Malaysian student-based organisations and to continue to serve our fellow Malaysians home and away. With your support, we will continue to provide professional and meaningful networking opportunities to the global Malaysian student community. We at ICMS want to rise to greater heights and we appeal to you to continue pledging that very support that got us to where we are today. As we enter a new chapter in the history of ICMS, we invite you to join us in continuing to make a meaningful impact on Malaysian youth worldwide.

2020-2021

CHAIRPERSON'S ADDRESS Chia Chien Teng, Alumni Network Committee Chairperson (2020-21) “Building Networks, Empowering Leaders, Realising Ideas.” While simple, this motto has carried us and fueled our growth through a successful first decade. Our 10th year is a real milestone for us, for it is a celebration of the sheer dedication of young Malaysians and a true testament that when the raw capability is coupled with deep passion, an immense impact can be made. In a decade, we have built a brand that is recognised by corporations and students alike as the gold standard for professional networking, leadership development and youth empowerment. We have created platforms for students to develop policies that are seriously considered by the government, connect and work with leading corporations and hone essential personal and professional skills. Oftentimes, student organisations are really just that – student organisations. Once its members cease to be students, they cease to get involved. ICMS is different. Speak to any one of us and you had been hard-pressed to find someone who would not proudly identify themselves as an ICMS member. For many of us, ICMS represents a humbling journey and a warm family. And that is why our Alumni are so keen to give back. At this important juncture, the Alumni Network Committee (ANC) sought to support the current Council by creating a bridge between the Alumni and current members and providing advice that will help the Council leadership navigate an increasingly complex landscape. This year, we focused on four themes: Alumni engagement; internal stability; Associate learning, well-being and engagement; and external recognition. We look forward to helping accelerate ICMS’ growth by challenging the status quo.

ADDRESSES | ANC CHAIRPERSON

04

To our Partners and Sponsors, our Affiliates, our Council members, past and present, and anyone who has been a part of our initiatives – thank you. It is because of your endless support that we have been able to touch the lives of thousands of Malaysians around the world. We are excited to continue sharing this journey with you. To our 10th Council, we cannot help but celebrate what you have achieved in the last year. As your Alumni, we lived vicariously through you as you grew as leaders – working through problems and celebrating wins in teams. May this turn of the decade mark the beginning of a chapter of unprecedented growth for this Council, and the next one too.

10TH ANNIVERSARY & 10TH COUNCIL PROSPECTUS

2020-2021

CHIEF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S ADDRESS Soh Jing Wen, 10th Council Chief Executive Director Perhaps the greatest contribution one can offer to this world is making a real and positive impact. To be where I am today was not a one-man show. I owe my learning and growth tremendously to the people who have supported me thus far. I am grateful for their contribution, many of which are nameless, faceless, and selfless. Their spirit of unconditional giving is my many motivations to strive to be the best version of myself. The warmth of their kindness sheds light on the lives of others, like shining stars. The past Councils and the Alumni Network Committee are fitting examples of shining stars that have worked tirelessly, through sleepless nights and busy days, to bring the Council to its present state. I sincerely thank all of you for the hard work and efforts, providing the 10th Council with substantial support and advice. To our Partners and Sponsors, who have been our unwavering pillars of support that provides the capacity to bring benefit to our fellow Malaysian youths, thank you for believing and trusting ICMS. There is so much that has been done, and even more that has yet to be done, and the 10th Council shall embark on a journey to fulfil the undone. This is a start to the end of a decade. Ten years is not a long time, but it is significant enough to have left an impact on the Malaysian youths. It has been a remarkable journey, and ICMS will continue to blossom in the coming decade. The 10th Council pledge to bring ICMS to greater heights, through “Building Networks, Empowering Leaders and Realising Ideas''. We aspire to execute a diversified range of initiatives to match the widening interests of the student population, increase outreach and societal penetration by expanding our presence into previously untapped student populations, and amplifying the value of associateship through the tailored initiatives under ICMS Academy.

More than just stars, we should be candles, whose light signifies continuity and ignites the spark in others. May the baton of impact be passed on by ICMS to the many we come in contact with, creating a legacy of lasting and sustainable impact. To 2020, a year of impact, of touching hearts and transforming lives.

05 ADDRESSES | CHIEF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

I am a firm believer that an open mind is the most receptive to learning and constant improvement. Along with a team of dedicated Directors and capable Associates, we will work hand-in-hand to propel the Council forward and upward. Leveraging our strengths and through learning from each other, we aim to contribute back to society as a team, and collectively become shining stars to the people around us.

COUNCIL-WIDE INFO

10TH ANNIVERSARY & 10TH COUNCIL PROSPECTUS

2020-2021

THE ICMS STORY Empowering Beginnings Year 2011 The 28th of November 2010 saw the seeds of the International Council of Malaysian Scholars and . Associates (ICMS) planted at St Hilda's College, Oxford. The seeds were planted, as a group of zealous Malaysian students set out to create a global network of like-minded and aspirational Malaysian students. The founding council organised ICMS' first flagship event - The Malaysian Public Policy Competition (MPPC) 2011 - which allowed participants to understand policy conception and implementation. This event has since been a part of our culture to this day.

Growing Trust Year 2012 With its favourable reception and successful groundwork, the fore-bearers of ICMS successfully passed on the torch to the 2nd Council, who undertook the rolling ambition of making ICMS into a recognised student organisation. ICMS was established as a registered NGO, solidifying its presence and trust with our corporoate Partners and Sponsors. The Prime Minister recognised the impact of MPPC 2012 and the winners' policies were taken into serious consideration for national implementation.

Designing the ICMS Presence Traversing Borders Year 2014 ICMS continued to grow at an astounding pace as we laid our foundation in five other countries Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, Malaysia and the United States of America. The 4th Council devised an internal restructuring masterplan to seamlessly facilitate the Council's growth and utilise all human capital. The National Executive Committees and the International Executive Committee were formed then for increased effectiveness.

Year 2013 Bearing the mission to bring together a strong network of dynamic Malaysian students, the 3rd Council channeled their energies into creating a distinguishable and authentic presence for ICMS. These rebranding efforts presented ICMS as the network for students to excel in the fields of career, intellectual and leadership development. In 2013, we saw our second flagship event, Industry Insights (I2) come to life. Participants had an experiential opportunity to dive into leading industries while contributing their ideas.

Strength in Joined Forces Year 2015 ABOUT US | THE ICMS STORY

10

The 5th Council increased outreach by connecting with more driven Malaysians to fortify the presence of ICMS in all six countries. Additionally, ICMS collaborated with 11 other Malaysian student councils to form the Malaysian Students' Global Alliance (MSGA). This partnership launched the Global Policy Symposium (GPS), an event bringing together Malaysian students of various backgrounds in the name of intellectual discourse.

Unity in Diversity Year 2016 Entering the 5-year mark, the 6th Council prioritised diversification in our Associate base while striving to stabilise ICMS as a credible and excellent international organisation. Recruitment and core initiatives were consolidated and refined along with strong relationships with our Sponsors. The ICMS Academy was conceived as an umbrella initiative encompassing the Industry Sectors Hub (ISH) and catering to the technical and soft-skill development of our Associates.

THE ICMS STORY Sustainable Leadership Year 2017

Quantifiable Excellence Year 2018 Reaping success after success, ICMS exceeded expectations proliferating to its widespread and talented student body in over six countries. With the key goals of Refinement, Engagement and Diversity in mind, the 7th Council worked tirelessly to bring the brand name of ICMS to new places and to upkeep the successful efforts of their predecessors.

ICMS aimed to tackle new challenges and to sustain its best professional practices and measures of effectiveness both internally and externally. The 8th Council directed detailed attention into quantifying and monitoring the progress and performance of Associates through a professional framework and ICMS Academy to continuously leverage our strengths to deliver excellence, empower leaders and complement diversity

Initiating Action Year 2019

Year 2020

As ICMS reached its 10th Anniversary milestone, the COVID-19 pandemic brought about the theme of ‘A World on the Brink of Change’. Despite impacts from the pandemic, the 10th Council swiftly adapted to hold fully virtual flagship events, engagement sessions and Roundtables with leading firms. Through establishing the Nasi Lemak Movement during the Movement Control Order (MCO), initiating a new Podcast and publications, restructuring ICMS Academy, and piloting a seventh Chapter in Australia, the 10th Council successfully diversified and redesigned its internal policies and strategies to increase efficiency and enhance the value of ICMS Associateship, creating profound and lasting impact as Malaysian youth, for the Malaysian youth.

What's next? Year 2021 As the 11th Council steps up, ICMS has an even larger global presence, having started its sixth Chapter in Australia and opening Associateship in the Hong Kong Chapter to Malaysian students studying in Macau. We look forward to seeing what the 11th Council will achieve during their tenure as they strive to "Build Networks, Empower Leaders and Realise Ideas".

11 ABOUT US | THE ICMS STORY

A World on the Brink of Change

The 9th Council took the baton to where the influence of the organisation had yet to reach while deepening its influence where it had taken root, continuing projects initiated by the 8th Council. Through thorough discussion and planning, the Council restructured the framework and organisation of ICMS Academy, which is left to be executed by their successors.

2020-2021

Introduction The Malaysian Public Policy Competition (MPPC) is the flagship annual case studybased competition organised by the International Council of Malaysian Scholars and Associates (ICMS). It aims to engage the Malaysian youth in the comprehensive public policymaking process in the realworld context.

In this residential challenge, participants design policies for a preset theme by identifying policy gaps through fact-finding and formulating policies as feasible solutions to overcome them. Participants H a l b e r g then present their well-developed ideas to a panel of judges for evaluation.MPPC is an unparalleled opportunity for participants to learn and appreciate the significance of the design and execution of public policies. It allows participants to engage with experts and leaders from the government, private sectors, industry, academia and also their fellow peers who share an equal passion and curiosity for public policymaking and nation-building.

2020-2021

MPPC 2020: Building The Future, Empowering Our Youth As Malaysia progresses to become a developed high-income country under the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030, the part our youth play is an undeniably crucial one. On one hand, with the ratification of Undi18, an additional 3.7 million Malaysian youth have been given unprecedented responsibility to vote and must become aware of their roles and responsibilities in Malaysia’s democracy. However, these youth face obstacles from the growing prevalence of mental health issues and widespread educational inequality between rural and urban schools. Thus, in this context, youth empowerment is a pressing issue, as their families’ socioeconomic backgrounds coupled with economic development in certain states will dramatically affect their potential to build up their future society and the trajectory of their lives.

Beyond Paper Series In collaboration with SJ+, and as part of the Beyond Paper series of events, the Malaysian Public Policy Competition 2020 held an interactive Youth Forum to enable participants to engage with community leaders from Subang Jaya in order to craft programmes that may be implemented in the area.

[From the Bottom-Up] From the Bottom-up is the first instalment of the Beyond Paper series on August 22th, 2020. ICMS collaborated with MPSJ and SJ+ to make this highly anticipated mental health webinar happen. The public has started to destigmatise the discourse concerning mental health amongst youths because of a recent rise of awareness. Speakers include Zulaikha Mohamad (co-founder of MINDAKAMI), Professor Alvin Ng (HOD of Psychology, Sunway University) and YB Michelle Ng (the Co-founder of MPPC). The main objective of this webinar is to raise awareness about the importance of talking about mental health amongst the youths.

[Women in Politics] On August the 28th, 2020, ICMS held Women in Politics, the second instalment of the Beyond Paper series. Although more and more women are engaging in politics nowadays, the number of men in politics still outnumber women. To celebrate strong women that ventured into the seemingly maledominated sphere of politics and public policymaking in Malaysia, SJ+Youth and ICMS teamed up to invite YB Michelle Ng (ADUN Subang Jaya), Aida Rafhana Kamaruddin (Deputy Head of Wanita Muda Amanah) and YB Teresa Kok (The MP of Seputeh) as the speakers of this council-wide flagship event. This event brought the speakers’ personal insights, the struggles that they have faced and the challenges that they have to overcome to the forefront of the discussion, enlightening all participants, regardless of gender.

[Policies into Programmes] The Policy to Programme event, the last instalment in our 'Beyond Paper' Series, was successfully held on September 5th, 2020. Building up the knowledge from previous events and the best of the policies from the competition, this event explores the role of the government and its branches in policymaking, connects participants with local experts and professionals to see how policies from this year’s MPPC can be implemented and draft a programme to do so, and see policymaking in action to really bring about change to the lives of the Malaysian society.

The event sought to strengthen the bond between members of the Chapter, giving them a chance to bond over fun and games, instead of their usual conversations and meetings over ICMS work. The participants of the event all had a blast trying to bust the Werewolf and survive the game, growing closer under the suspenseful nature of the game. It was a great opportunity for the HK Chapter to get to know more about each other and to create longlasting memories during their ICMS journey.

ASSOCIATES' SHARING Our tenure in ICMS is one that will never be forgotten. See what our Associates have to share on their ICMS journey!

Alma Artin Vaqari 10th Council Council Policy and Strategy Executive Director I am so humbled to be part of a team that consists of people who are ever-so inspiring and always thriving. I will never forget the roller coaster of emotions I went through with everyone. From being both excited and scared upon stepping up, all the way to feeling tired, doubtful, yet proud and contented with the milestones we have achieved by the end of our tenure. We have all grown so much and forged great friendships along the way. Thank you for making this journey a memorable one <3

Cheong Kai Lun 10th Council National Executive Director (HK Chapter) ICMS never cease to amaze me. It is a haven of inspiration, a cradle of thoughts and ideas. It is where brilliant minds meet. Joining with the hope of buckling up my soft skills, ICMS never fails to meet my expectations in giving me chances to empower myself with leadership qualities. Becoming the NED of the HK Chapter, I have the chance to realise my ideas through planning and executing events with my team. I was also given the opportunity to create connections that I now cherish dearly. To me, ICMS has become a family far from home.

10th Council External Outreach and Publicity Director (UK Chapter) We may seem like we work with each other all the time but the truth is, we barely meet physically. That is what I love about ICMS. It brings Malaysian students all over the world together, working towards the same direction with the same ideas and vision without having to cross international borders. I had the opportunity to meet these like-minded and driven people during the summer and that was one of the best moments in ICMS.

Low Jun Sheng 10th Council Deputy Chief Executive Director and National Executive Director (SG Chapter) Roughly a year ago, I was committed to propelling a rollercoaster. 12 months later, I find myself ready to pass the role of propelling to someone else. There is one difference this time. The rollercoaster is at higher terrains. The 10th Council was one ride of a rollercoaster. But if you were to ask me what made the journey memorable, it was not necessarily the highest highs that we had or overcoming the lowest lows; it was the individuals who were pushing and on the ride with me that made it special. Till we ride together next time!

Maryam binti Halim @ Abdul Halim 10th Council Project Development and Initiatives Associate (MY Chapter)

ICMS is one of the best self-development hubs out there. I would not be the person I am today if it were not for the experiences I gained during my tenure. The skills I have honed have helped me in various ways, mostly in university where hard and soft skills are paramount. Although there were some bittersweet moments, I would not change it for the world. I have also met brilliant minds that challenged me to soar to greater heights and I aim to help others the way my peers have helped me. Thank you so much ICMS for the wonderful year and a half.

It opened my eyes wide and at the same time taught me how to stay humble. It is never easy to let go of something that had been with you almost every day for 1.5 years. All gatherings will end one day. And that one day in ICMS has finally arrived. It is a mixture of feelings. Apart of me feels so excited about the next stage of my life. My ICMS journey has been both challenging and fruitful. It was a constant take in leaps of faith and steps out of my comfort zone. To be able to meet and to work with so many unique individuals has truly been a great pleasure.

Sia Zhen Hao 10th Council Secretarial Director (SG Chapter) I went into ICMS with little-to-no soft skills, and I have gained a significant amount of them during my tenure in ICMS. Getting thrown into a leadership position without prior knowledge is like swimming: it is a tough pill to swallow, but you will have to throw yourself into a body of water if you want to swim. Finding structure and setting directions amidst chaos pretty much sums up my experience in ICMS.

10th Council Corporate Relations Director (HK Chapter) The ICMS Journey that I went through was way more fruitful than I expected. I had faced lots of challenges but have grown through them as well. A big shout-out to my CRazy CR fam for all those highs and lows that we have gone through, laughter and stress, it will be my most memorable experience in ICMS. What‘s your impression of the 10th Council?

Melisande Wong, 11th Council (NA) Impressions: Overview The Induction Day ceremonies in each Chapter marked the first step of the handover to the newly-appointed 11th Council in late November. The Junior Associates (JAs) of the 11th Council proceeded onto the next phases of the transition under the watchful guidance of the 10th Council. Throughout the last few weeks of 2020, the 11th Council was challenged with numerous tasks and assignments designed to prepare them for their tenures such as Divisional Synergy, Divisional Internships and the OPCO Experience. While a lot of JAs found the assignments difficult due to the time-crunch and workload, they found that they were able to get through the tasks with the guidance, support and mentorship of the 10th Council. One of the newly-appointed JAs shared that while they initially found the 10th Council Associates to be very professional, they were also flexible and understanding of the 11th Council’s difficulties in accomplishing the tasks on time while going through finals.

Another JA also commented that their mentors played an important role in maintaining the group’s morale through the weeks and established a sense of camaraderie amongst group members. The JA stated “If it were not for our mentor, we might not have had enough motivation or strive to finish our synergy assignments on time. We are really grateful for our mentors.” Overall, the 11th Council JAs hold the 10th Council in high regard and really appreciate their support and mentorship throughout the transition process. While their initial impression was that ICMS requires a high level of commitment, the newly-appointed JAs believe that their seniors and mentors make ICMS a safe environment to learn, grow, and improve.

What‘s your impression of the 10th Council?

Naoka Cheah, 11th Council (AU) Impressions: Friendly Professionals As the 11th Council's Junior Associates (JAs) are introduced to their predecessors of the 10th Council, it is fundamental that they learn the necessary skills to continue the legacy of ICMS. Over the past few months, the JAs of the 11th Council were able to gain insight into ICMS as they underwent mentorship programmes with the 10th Council. ICMS asked the JAs for their impressions of the 10th Council. Their first impression of the 10th Council was largely positive: “My first impression of ICMS was an organisation that focuses a lot on professionalism and career development. Hence, I expected the 10th Council to be quite strict and direct in terms of dealing with the 11th Council.” “Very supportive and encouraging group of “Motivated group of people with high selfpeople. They create a safe space for JAs to learn expectation and are ready for the challenge.” and grow."

Following up to this, when asked about their current impression of the 10th Council: "After spending nearly a month in ICMS, I discovered that the 10th Council is a bunch of very flexible and approachable peers, and are very open to feedback as well!”

Overall, their initial impression was that the 10th Council was focused on professionalism and being goal-driven. Whilst many felt that their first impression and current impression did not differ greatly, the 11th Council JAs were pleasantly surprised to experience their predecessors' friendliness and willingness to lend a helping hand in addition to their professional image.

What‘s your impression of the 10th Council?

Peace Foo, 11th Council (HK) Impressions: Leadership Throughout the 11th Council’s induction journey, their impressions of ICMS have been largely defined by interactions with the 10th Council, whether through mentorship programmes or their leadership of the new Associates’ induction tasks. ICMS conducted a short survey amongst the 11th Council, the current Junior Associates (JAs), about their impressions and interactions with their predecessors. Many respondents among the 11th Council noted the “good mix of professionalism and being casual”, strong team cohesiveness, and leadership and willingness to help others, among other defining characteristics of the 10th Council, and expressed their desire to carry these aspects of good lead into the 11th Council. Examples included the manner in which the 10th Council tackled challenges when running the Junior Associate Development Programme (JADP), providing solid professional and ICMS-related advice while giving out a positive vibe. They also proactively reached out to their JA mentees to make sure everyone was on the right track.

ASSOCIATES' SHARING 11TH COUNCIL IMPRESSIONS

78

These observations were recorded from our new JAs’ experiences with the 10th Council during various sessions of meetings and task briefings, council-wide meetings, check-in calls, and private conversations with mentors. All of these forms of interaction had their merits, according to respondents. Among others, task briefings were an opportunity to meet each other and helped to get on track for upcoming tasks, and check-in calls were particularly useful when those present could provide instant feedback on ideas and proposals. Private mentor-mentee conversations were helpful in getting to know the 10th and 11th Councils on a better level. JAs further voiced their hopes of improving these interactions through more social gatherings and smaller groups of virtual meetings despite the current challenging situation posed by the pandemic.
