Slatington Library is still open to the public. The option of curbside delivery is still available. There will be limited use of the computers. Library hours are still shortened, Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9-5, Tuesday 9-3 and Sat. 8-Noon. FACE MASKS MUST BE WORN. Congratulations to the winners of our reading incentive program, Angela Schoenberger, Karissa Miller, Journey Van Horn and Eileen Andrews. The winners each received a $25 cash prize. Prizewinners of the Slatington Library Scavenger Hunt are, Lynne Fedorcha, Emily Schafer and Christina Tomsic. From now until the end of the year, 2022, the membership fee to join our library will be reduced to $15.00, a 25% reduction. Most communities have free membership because they help support their local library. Everyone should take advantage of the many services that a library provides. Join your public library. The Slatington Library Book Club is now reading “The secret life of bees” by Sue Monk Kidd. The book club will meet on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 1:00 pm. via Zoom. All you need is a library card. Data base of the month: Heritage Quest: An online resource for genealogical research. Heritage Quest can be searched at home. They have billions of records ready to reveal your family's story. Data is available form City Directories, Census Map Guides, U.S. Indian Census Rolls, Mortality Schedules, Agricultural and Industrial Schedules and U.S. Freedman's Bank Record, 1861-1875. All this is accessible from the comfort of your home and is free. You can sign-up for a library card in our online catalog and select e-books and audio books from the Carbon Lehigh Downloadable Library. Both links are on our web page.
