n Wednesday, May 26th, Coach Carillo and Colton the Yellowjackets varsity baseball team hosted the San Gorgonio Spartans at home. The Yellowjackets would come up on top for the 9-0 win. Colton Pitcher senior #27 Alex Navarrete had an amazing game shutting out the Spartans with 9Ks. Navarrete would come up big with some solid hitting of his own earning 2 RBI's. The Colton Yellowjackets bats came alive with #25 Fern Brumitt hitting in 3 RBI's, #22 Isaac Bustillos hit a solo homerun, #17 Isaiah Colunga had 2 RBI's, and #2 Anthony Corral had an RBI to help Colton with the big win to move the Yellowjackets one game away from making a playoff run. City of Colton named Tree City USA

rbor Day Foundation names the City of Colton Tree City USA, in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters. City of Colton achieved Tree City USA recognition by meeting the program’s four requirements: a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
