Keep your electricity flowing & business growing
Uninterrupted power supply is the goal of every power transmission and distribution company, but many problems lie in the path of achieving it. These problems can lead to unnecessary shutdowns, and can cause huge monetary and man-hour losses. To help power companies achieve highest efficiency, FLIR brings a wide range of thermal imaging cameras and T&M products.
FLIR’s wide range of products for predictive and preventive maintenance

From the President’s Desk
Dear Friends, It has been a fast paced year for IEEMA, with our increased engagements with the Government and industry across divisions and geography, both domestic and international. IEEMA has been successful in resolution of various issues impacting Indian Electrical Industry in the last one year. Our continued interactions with the policy makers in Delhi and various states have improved in frequency and substance. We have carried forward the efforts made by previous teams. ”Adding value to our membership” has been the main driver. The regional/state chapters and state level utility interactions have been very rewarding for all concerned. This year we made representation to the government on various issues like for Decrease in Customs Duty on Imports of Primary Aluminium Metal, Pending Export Obligation against Advance Authorisation / DFIA, Non-adherence to CEA Guidelines for Domestic Competitive Bidding & Make in India to Provide Preference to Domestic Manufacturers, Cyber Security Threat to Indian Electrical Grid, Anti-Dumping Duty on Imports of Dioctyl Phthalate Originating in or Exported from Korea PR and Chinese Taipei, Tariff Lines proposed by India to Australia on Goods belonging to the Power Sector under India-Australia CECA and also for lowering the GST rate on Wires & Cables, LT Switchgears, Switch Boards, Panels and Insulator Fittings from 28% to 18% and keeping a Uniform Rate of 18% GST on all Electrical Products. The government is working on the representations made by us and we hope that the electrical industry will have some good news in the near future. Moreover, we had high level engagements with our Global counterparts in the last two months. Various delegations from IEEMA visited ASIAN UTILITY WEEK, Bangladesh Power utility week and ASEAN Power Grid Summit. More such engagements are lined up and I am sure that these visits will be very exciting and challenging for Indian businesses, with India emerging as a new strong power as there is a paradigm shift in the global economy.

Samvaad...
Dear Members, It is a known fact that technology can help in enhancing supply of energy at affordable price and deliver it efficiently and sustainably. However, the real challenge lies in creation of a conducive environment for R&D to flourish. The country so far has been at the fore front of technology deployment but not development. Hence a proactive policy approach for technology induction must be in place. New Technologies always provide new business opportunities. Thus to leverage this opportunity, IEEMA is organizing its third edition of DistribuELEC and INTELECT conference from February 4-6, 2019, at BEC, Mumbai. IEEMA members present in this space, will be showcasing cutting-edge innovations and future technologies on Digital Smart Cities, Smart Rural Electrification, including smart solutions for H3O – Home, Hotel, Hospital & Office – a term spanning the end-to-end application of energy in our society. DistribuELEC is designed to draw builders, architects, city planners, energy and government officials, transportation industry representatives, venture capitalists, utilities, contractors, consultants, academia, and others interested in learning about new technological advancements and knowledge to smart electricity. The ambitious target of 24 x 7 electricity requires sustainable and cost effective solutions for the Distribution Sector and IEEMA is working hand in hand with the Ministry of Power to meet this target. As promising as it sounds, DistribuELEC is also a platform to translate many of the proven global concepts in smart energy management into workable business opportunities for India. As we prepare to embark on the next phase of double-digit growth and development, this is a bus that few of us can afford to miss.

Solution The Digital Enterprise is already a Reality!
Manufacturing industry in India has gone through various phases of development over the period of time and promises to be one of the high growth sectors in the coming years. The Make in India initiative aims to boost the contribution of the manufacturing sector from 15% to 25% of GDP, in the near future. In order to support this growth, India will need an ecosystem comprising tier 1, tier 2, as well as tier 3 suppliers, with a high level of efficiency, flexibility, and quality focus.
