Il già ricco medagliere di Illva Saronno si arricchisce con tre nuove medaglie, vinte da Disaronno, Disaronno Riserva e Zucca Rabarbaro in occasione della prima Spirits Competition organizzata da Tastings.com durante gli International Review of Spirits che si sono tenuti a Novembre 2016.

Una giuria di esperti provenienti da tutti gli Stati Uniti si è riunita in New Jersey per degustare e giudicare oltre 700 tra i più noti liquori del mondo assegnando ad ognuno un punteggio su una scala da 1 a 100. La medaglia d’oro è stata vinta da Disaronno, mentre la medaglia d’argento è andata a Disaronno Riserva che, nonostante sia sul mercato da solo un anno, è già riuscito a conquistare i palati degli esperti di tutto il mondo.

Zucca Rabarbaro ha conquistato la medaglia di platino con il rating più alto: 96 punti ottenuti grazie al suo gusto unico dato dall’utilizzo della radice del rabarbaro cinese che dona al prezioso bitter un’incredibile versatilità.

Illva Saronno’s impressive showcase of medals became all the richer recently thanks to three new honours won respectively by Disaronno, Disaronno Riserva and Zucca Rabarbaro at the Spirits Competition, a first-time event which Tastings.com hosted in November 2016 during the International Review of Spirits.

An expert panel of judges from around the United States met in New Jersey to taste and evaluate 700+ of the world’s most prominent spirits, rating each on a scale of 1 to 100. While Disaronno won a gold medal, Disaronno Riserva – extra premium liqueur which despite a market launch just last year already boasts a fine roster of fans among connoisseurs across the globe – secured a silver.

As for Zucca Rabarbaro, it made an authentic coup. With the highest of ratings at the event, a total of 96 points in appreciation of the unique flavour and remarkable versatility deriving from the use of Chinese rhubarb root, the storied Italian bitter took home a platinum medal.

On November 30th, rather – for the Dutch version of Ladies Night – thirty of the country’s finest movie theatres presenting SOOF2 offered an extra special treat, specifically by serving a total of 27,000+ tastes of the Tia Iced Popcorn Frappè.

A MOVIE DATE… WITH TIA MARIA! - Thanks to promotional campaigns on Tia Maria’s and SOOF2’s social media pages, tens of people won the chance to attend the screening of the film, discover the behind-the-scenes movie production process or participate in a Tia Maria cocktail creation workshop. In addition, at famous Dutch shopping centres such as Humphreys, Bregje and Shabu Shabu, 1,600 tickets to the movie pre-premiere on December 3rd were raffled off. All eager hopefuls had to do was order a Tia Maria Coffee Cocktail.

OFF TRADE ACTIONS - Two exclusive coffee gift sets were specially created to promote the new Tia Maria bottle and its role in SOOF2. One set went on sale during the end of the year holiday season, while the other – together with a DVD of the film SOOF2 – will come onto the market some time prior to Mother’s Day. ILLVA SARONNO ON THE RED CARPET - Other Illva Saronno brands – namely, Disaronno, Artic Vodka and Isolabella Sambuca – joined Tia Maria in the cast of SOOF2.

TIA ICED POPCORN FRAPPÈ • 50 ml Tia Maria • 2 tazzine caffè espresso • 50 ml latte • 20 ml sciroppo di popcorn • popcorn freschi Procedimento - Versare Tia Maria, il caffè espresso, il latte e lo sciroppo di popcorn in uno shaker. Aggiungere il ghiaccio e shakerare tutti gli ingredienti. Utilizzando un colino (strainer), versare gli ingredienti in un bicchiere colmo di ghiaccio. Completare con dei popcorn e servire con una cannuccia.

TIA ICED POPCORN FRAPPÈ • 50 ml Tia Maria • double shot espresso coffee • 50 ml Milk • 20 ml popcorn syrup • fresh popcorn Method - Pour the Tia Maria, espresso, milk and popcorn syrup into a shaker. Add ice and shake the ingredients together. Using a strainer, pour contents into a latté glass full of ice. Top with the fresh popcorn and add a straw to serve.

TIA MINT FRAPPÈ • 25 ml Tia Maria • 2 tazzine di caffè espresso • 50 ml latte fresco • 6 foglie menta fresca Procedimento - Versare Tia Maria, il caffè espresso e il latte nello shaker. Aggiungere, picchiettandole leggermente, 6 foglie di menta agli altri ingredienti.

Shakerare, versare in un bicchiere e guarnire con un rametto di menta.

TIA MINT FRAPPÈ • 25 ml Tia Maria • double shot of espresso • 50 ml fresh milk • 6 fresh mint leaves Method - PPour the Tia Maria, espresso and milk into a shaker. Take 6 mint leaves, give them a gentle slap and add to the other ingredients. Shake everything together and pour into a highball glass over cubed ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
