Ready in 10 minutes INGREDIENTS 100g cooked and peeled prawns 3 tbsp soy sauce 3cm piece of root ginger, peeled and grated 1 chilli, deseeded and finely chopped A small handful of finely chopped fresh coriander 1 Little Gem lettuce

METHOD Put the prawns, soy sauce, ginger, chilli and coriander into a bowl and stir to mix well. Spoon some of the mixture into the lettuce leaves to eat. Any you don’t eat straight away will keep in the fridge for up to two days.

Mixed bean salad Ready in 5 minutes

SERVES

INGREDIENTS 410g can mixed beans or pulses, drained A small handful of finely chopped fresh parsley 2 tbsp fat-free vinaigrette METHOD Mix the beans or pulses with the parsley and vinaigrette in a bowl. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper and mix together well. Spoon as much salad as you feel like eating into a bowl. The rest will keep in the fridge for up to four days.

Chocolate and vanilla ice pops Ready in 10 minutes, plus freezing

MAKES

INGREDIENTS 2 level tbsp cocoa powder 2 level tbsp sweetener 350g fat-free vanilla yogurt 1 tsp vanilla extract METHOD Put the cocoa powder, half the sweetener and 3 tablespoons of water in a small bowl and stir well. Put the yogurt in a small jug and stir in the vanilla extract and remaining sweetener. Swirl the cocoa mixture through the yogurt and pour into 8 x 80ml dariole moulds or ice lolly moulds. Insert an ice lolly stick into each mould and freeze for 8-10 hours or until firm. Whenever you fancy a sweet treat, turn out an ice pop from its mould and enjoy!

What dress did you wear? “My dress was from a gorgeous little boutique in Poulton-le-fylde, Lancashire, called Blush. It was the second dress I tired on. I had an idea of what I liked, but wanted to keep an open mind. Wedding dress shopping isn’t something you do every day and I wanted to try on lots of different styles. I fell in love with the feel of my Rosa Clara dress, and when I put it on, it suited my shape perfectly. I knew I would be comfortable in my dress from the ceremony to the last dance. very couple wants a stress-free day, so we asked MD of Fwd: Events, Danny Johnson, for his advice to ensure you can overcome common planning problems... How do we say we can’t afford ‘plus ones’?

Deciding on a guest list is a tricky task in any case, but adding plus ones into the mix can be the making of a nightmare. There isn’t an official etiquette for plus ones, but I would advise considering each couple on your list and working from there. If they have only been together for a few

weeks or months, then it’s acceptable to only invite the friend; if the couple are engaged or married, then they should be considered as a unit. If you simply can’t afford to invite everyone and their other halves to the ceremony, contact your guests before you send out the invites and explain that

costs per head were too high, but then invite their plus one to the evening. I’m worried we can’t get our dream day with our budget With the average wedding in the UK costing £22,000, it’s important to set yourselves a realistic budget. I always recommend visiting a

There are so many wedding suppliers out there for us to choose from, how do we pick?! Always remember that vicars, registrars, photographers and DJs are the face of your wedding; the reputation of your day does somewhat rely upon them. This is a word-of-mouth industry and with a bit of research it can be easy to discover what kind of atmosphere, style and service a person creates and whether they are right for you. If you are able to do so, it might be worth asking your DJ if you could watch them at another event and meet your photographer to go through their wedding albums before booking. If they’re not keen to do so, then that’s probably your answer! We haven’t budgeted for wedding insurance We all think that it will

wedding fair if you’re unsure about how much wedding cakes, flowers, stationery and favours cost. This will give a good indication about what you can and can’t afford, what inspires you and ways in which you can stick to your budget in the long-run. You should also consider the technical and practical skill sets among your family and friends. Very often, your auntie, friend from university and former housemate are more than happy to help out – from designing your invitations to baking your wedding cake. This makes the day more personalised and unique as well.

Ditto old and blue. The stationery’s been ordered, along with the flowers, favours are done after fiddling for hours. The stag do’s a blur, same goes for the Hen won’t be drinking that much in one sitting again! The dress has been picked, accessories bought; there’s nothing to schedule, no more to sort. After endless to-do lists for over a year, it’s time to relax; the big day is here!

When we were idlers with the loitering rills, The need of human love we little noted: Our love was nature; and the peace that floated On the white mist, And dwelt upon the hills, To sweet accord subdued our wayward wills: One soul was ours, one mind, one heart devoted, That, wisely doting, ask’d not why it doted, And ours the unknown joy, which knowing kills.
