Latest figures released by the Housing Industry Association (HIA) show housing affordability has improved for the fifth consecutive quarter.

The HIA predicts housing affordability will continue to improve as the effects of interest rate cuts flow through to the market.

Melbourne’s affordability increased 7.3 per cent, slightly higher than the national average of 6.4 per cent. All capital cities registered improvements for the March quarter, with the exceptions of Sydney and Perth.
