A COMPANY I ADMIRE BEAUTY WITHOUT BOUNDARIES Sephora, founded in France by Dominique Mandonnaud in 1970, single handedly changed the cosmetics retail industry. Today, Sephora is the leading cosmetics and perfume retail chain in France and maintains a strong presence throughout other countries in the world. Before Sephora, shopping for cosmetics was a whole different experience for the consumer. Cosmetic counters were the only way to get access to high end cosmetics, filled with pushy cosmetic sales consultants you were forced to interact with in order to get your hands dirty trying any product before you committed to buying. Sephora is different because it offers consumers an open concept beauty experience where you can test the products of over 100 different brands yourself, all in one place. Help is there for those who need it, but you can experience a brand without the pressure of going through the consultant to try the products. As someone who has always been passionate about art and beauty, I appreciate the experience that Sephora can offer me. I already have the knowledge of cosmetics. All I want is to try before I buy, which Sephora always delivers. Their innovation is inspiring.

“Sephora is highly regarded as a beauty trailblazer, thanks to its unparalleled assortment of prestige products, unbiased service from experts, interactive shopping environment, and innovation.

A PERSON I ADMIRE COMEDIAN, TELEVISION HOST, ACTRESS

I’ve always believed that laughter is the best medicine. I turn to powerful and inspiring women like Ellen Degeneres to make me smile when I need to unwind. Ellen made it her job to make people laugh, but didn’t stop there. I find her so inspiring most importantly because she makes it her duty to give back not just through spreading laughter to millions. She shares her success with everyday people, bringing dreams to life on her show and supporting over a dozen charities. She is genuine in everything she does, and I think that’s why people connect with her so much. Ellen has also done wonders for the LGBT community. The issue of homosexuality is something that I hold very dear to my heart. My own brother and several of my friends have suffered from prejudice against homosexuality, and any advocate in a position of power removes so much of the stigma that people have about homosexuality. Ellen inspires us all and everyday, with her wife Portia de Rossi, reminds that love is love and has no boundaries.

“I’m not an activist; I don’t look for controversy. I’m not a political person, but I’m a person with compassion. I care passionately about equal rights. I care about human and animal rights.”
