My career objective is to obtain a challenging and evolving position in a fast past industry where I can use my creative and social skills to allow the company to push into new markets.
Proper communication is one of the main ingredients of any successful promotions campaign. I have gone to great lengths in order to better myself in communication. I took a presentations class at SLC, which has provided me with the apposite foundation to better communicate virtually any relevant message. One of my favourite and most applicable projects at demonstrating my communication skills was when I created a promotional campaign for a country radio station. I had to effectively communicate why people should be listening to the station to a large audience. This experience helped me work as a waitress at Swiss Chalet where communication is the epicenter of a good customer experience.
Throughout my life endeavors I have had many opportunities to fine-tune my creative proficiencies. In high school I got my computer tech exam, which gave me the tools to allow my inner creative energy to flourish. It gave me a profound understanding in the Adobe Creative Software. This allowed me to work for “InMotion as a creative design assistant where I helped create media such as video and flyers to provide an awareness campaign on the horrors in Ethiopia. This media was then used to raise money to better the lives of everyday Ethiopians. I also have been educated in new and innovative ways from my program, which has allowed me to better pinpoint areas for creative improvements on specific projects while also allowing me to progress my understanding in all related areas that will allow me to expand my inner creative spirit.
Since good problem solving skills are pertinent to just about every facet of life, I have taken it upon myself to devote great concentration at improving myself in this area. In countless projects I have been tasked at working in a group environment. While problem solving is important when you are working alone it becomes a much greater task when you need to take into consideration other peoples point of view. A perfect example of this was when my group was assigned to promoting the country radio station, as problems would constantly arise. These life lessons allowed me to prosper as a waitress as any customer service related job requires a never-ending smorgasbord of issues to overcome. A perfect example of this was one time a customer forgot her bankcard at home and had no money. Instead of making a big deal that would therefore give Swiss Chalet a bad name, I quietly told the loyal customer not to worry and paid the bill myself.
