British Council Presents Dressing the Screen The Rise of Fashion Film
Driven by technological advances in image making, the huge expansion of the internet and it’s capability for viewing video, a new medium of creative promotion has taken hold: Fashion Film. The new medium has grown and developed in parallel to dominant contemporary media platforms, giving instant access to a global networked audience and market.
The concept behind the identity of the exhibition is based on the parallel of growth of these two factors: Fashion Film and contemporary media. The diagram associated with parallel lines in geometry was the main inspiration for the exhibition Identity. We assigned an aspect of the exhibition to each of the three lines, in the diagram.
Fashion Film
Contempory Media
The two parallel lines stand for Fashion Film and contemporary media as the run along side each other in growth. The diagonal line that strikes through both is the featured artists. This diagonal line is key and stands for collaboration as theses three aspects join forces to form the exhibition as well as a new medium

Exhibition Signage.
Design Decisions The design for the exhibition is stripped back to create a simplistic identity that creates a beautiful aesthetic that is pleasing to the eye and attention grabbing however, this design in no way takes away from the work featured within the exhibition.
The whole reason for these design decisions is based around making the work featured within the exhibition the focal point of the experience for the viewer.
The identity we have created is designed in a way to represent the progression of the artforms and

Private Invitation & Envelope Design
Design Decisions The idea of the invite was all about making the recipient feel special giving the event a huge amount of desireablity. The design itself is once again stripped back making simplicity the focal point.
The specific recipients name is emboseed with a white spot varnish applied, this as you can see makes the specific name stand out amoungst the others making the recipient feel a sensce of individuality.
The Back of the invite is designed to co relate with the rest of the exhibition keeping the design stripped back, ensuring that the key information is communicated effectivley without confussion, and again maintaing the clean aesthetic.

Text & Captions for featured work.
Design Decisions The Fact that the Exhibition is constantly moving and the design must be adaptable inspired us to create a signage system that can be easily be transported along with the exhibition.
This has been achieved with the seperation of the two specific languages onto different plaques. this allows for the signage to be adapted depending on the location of the exhibition. 04
