It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 9th edition of Imperial’s Charter Directory. This year brings about exciting changes in the superyacht industry with many striking vessels being delivered, construction updates and remote destinations yet to be discovered. The Charter Directory is inspired by the international yachting industry, more specifically the multitude of achievements completed. Our intention is to provide a space for the generation of knowledge and collaboration amongst the superyacht community. In addition, to showcase Imperial’s successful deliveries that have changed the superyacht industry.

Our projects may be increasing in scale and complexity, yet our focus truly remains on the client. Whether that may range from constructing a unique 100-metre superyacht or creating a tailored charter itinerary, we leverage the full weight of our skills and experience to provide exceeding results. Imperial is delighted for upcoming projects like Project SIGNATURE (Amels 120m), Project BLUE MARLIN (Admiral 77m), Project 794 (Nobiskrug 62m) and Sunreef (49m), the largest catamaran ever built by the shipyard. These projects are a testament to Imperial’s savoir-faire of superyacht construction.

Having overseen the design, construction and delivery of LANA (Benetti 107m), FLYING FOX (Lürssen 136m), we have added both vessels to our exclusive charter fleet. This has cemented our position as a major player in the world of 100metre+ superyacht charters. RoMEA (Abeking & Rasmussen 81.8m) will be travelling back to the Indian Ocean this winter season, whilst LILI (Amels 55m) will be exploring the Mediterranean. FLYING FOX will be discovering Southeast Asia and further down to the South Pacific and French Polynesia. Furthermore, LANA will travel to the Caribbean or the Indian Ocean for her first winter season which holds plenty of excitement. LANA boasts of versatile cruising and is ready to travel all corners of the globe. Imperial’s charter department have extensive knowledge on the best destinations, remote islands and top activities to do.

With a well-reputed history, Imperial has asserted itself to be the market’s most bespoke, wide-ranging and advanced superyacht service. CHARTER ESSENTIALS TEN KEY QUESTIONS

10 K E Y Q U E S T I O N S

...

HOW TO CHARTER ...

Whether you are new to yachting or a seasoned adventurer, Imperial’s expertise in the charter industry enables it to create and oversee a broad range of fuss-free yacht charter experiences. Its specialist teams are well equipped to answer any queries you might have but for those starting out, these ten basic questions are a good place to begin. ... H O W D O I B O O K A C H A R T E R YA C H T ?

1

Call the Imperial team and you will be assigned a charter broker – a specialist who will listen to your requirements, from destination and timings to interests and special requests. A recommended yacht and itinerary will then be presented to you on the basis of this conversation. 2

CAN THE ITINERARY BE TAILORED TO REFLECT MY TASTES?

Absolutely. Tell Imperial about the ages, tastes and profiles of those involved, because an itinerary can be designed to encompass everything from cultural tours, sporting events and active pursuits to lazy days ashore or long, undisturbed evenings at anchor. 3

CAN I TAKE MY OWN STAFF?

That depends on whether there is adequate capacity to accommodate extra personnel. If so, you can certainly take your own staff but if not, Imperial is always able to organise first-class staff on your behalf. 4

CAN I TAKE THE KIDS?

It’s fine to take children on board and if you talk to your broker in advance it may even be permissible to take the family pet. The yacht, destination, crew and itinerary can also be orchestrated to suit your needs, with family-friendly catering, destinations and pursuits all built into the plan. 5

DOES IMPERIAL OFFER CORPORATE CHARTERS?

Yes. Whether you book a charter yacht for client entertainment or staff reward, it makes a fresh and invigorating change from the norm. It can be the perfect hideaway for discreet business negotiations – and with some vessels capable of accommodating dozens of people at a time, there are very few venues that can match it for an upmarket conference. 6

I S A C O R P O R AT E C H A R T E R S I M I L A R TO A H O L I D AY C H A R T E R ?

Yes. Like a holiday, you can specify the venue and the duration; you can organise it around a specific high-profile event such as the Cannes Film Festival; and you can benefit from the same comprehensive level of staffing as a luxury charter, with all service and catering provided. 7

CAN I SELECT A SPECIFIC CREW?

The crew tends to come with the yacht, so repeat charter customers will often specify a particular vessel in order to be certain of a reunion. However, if this is your first charter, tell your broker what kind of crew you favour. From relaxed and outgoing to slick and formal, a yacht can then be selected to match your preference. HOW SHOULD I CONDUCT MYSELF?

8

Just relax. There are no prescriptive expectations. Dress in whatever way makes you feel comfortable and behave in whatever way enables you to enjoy your charter to the utmost. Your crew will always be rigorously professional and entirely discreet. 9

ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN COSTS?

In addition to the basic charter cost, there is usually an Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) of around 25%. This enables the crew to stock up on fuel and food in accordance with the input of your charter broker. Any funds left over will be returned to you. 10

WHAT ABOUT TIPPING?

The timing and scale of any tips are of course at your discretion. However, the average is around 10% of the charter value and this can be paid at the end of your voyage, either directly to the Captain or indirectly via your broker.

REYMOND LANGTON ...

In conversation with superyacht design duo Pascale Reymond and Andrew Langton. With expertise in creating an extraordinary array of superyacht interior styles and exterior lines, the studio has also collaborated with leading shipyards. Discover what is currently on their drawing boards, an out of this world travel bucket list and the boat they would design for themselves.

How did Reymond Langton originally form?

What is Reymond Langton currently working on?

Andrew Langton Reymond Langton Design was founded in 2001. We gained over twenty years of experience within the superyacht industry, working with Donald Starkey and Tony Castro. Within a year of setting up our studio, we had two new build contracts underway.

AL We delivered seven superyachts in the last eighteen months! We currently have six in construction. There is a 125 metre LĂźrssen for a repeated client, 105 metre Oceanco, 60 metre Amels, two 50 metre Heesen yachts, 42 metre Conrad and also completing the refit of JUBILEE (110 metre, Oceanco). PR As you can tell, we have a wide range of sizes and shipyards we work with. Our average size is around 100 metres.

What was your first superyacht project and what were the challenges? Does your studio have a signature design style or colour? AL It took us eight months to land our first project. Pascale Reymond It was not easy at the beginning; there was a bit of naivety however, that gave us the courage needed to enter the market. We were very tenacious, and suddenly it happened over night. AL We signed two contracts at the same time. One was an upcoming shipyard in Spain. We did a 42-metre yacht for a local man in Seville. The biggest challenge was that they never built yachts before. We had to control and monitor the quality of the exterior and engineering. The other was an Abeking & Rasmussen, which we previously worked with whilst at Donald Starkey. We really had to prove our capabilities that we can do the job and deliver results.

PR We are recognisable by the way we work. Our strong attention to details and methodology in design is our signature. We provide clients consistency in the way we deliver our projects. I would not say we have a significant style or colour because we like to be challenged by the client to do different things. AL It makes it more interesting to do different things or something we have never done before. It is how we learn, progress and expand our knowledge. ... 01 BRAVO EUGENIA, 109 m built by Oceanco

...

...

If you could design a boat for yourself, what would it be and why?

Have there been any significant technological innovations that allowed for more bespoke designs?

AL I would design either a super modern sleek sail boat or a crazy alternative hydrofoil boat. With hydrofoils, you are flying. You can make it look like anything and really think out of the box. PR I am a bit of a romantic and nostalgic, I would design myself a mini Savarona yacht inspired by the 1920s contrasted by a contemporary interior.

Travel is a big part of this industry; can you share your favourite destinations? PR Somewhere between the sea and mountains. I was born in Brittany, so I have always been drawn to the ocean. The other place is the alps. Cycling around the mountains and taking in the sceneries. We are currently in our tiny beach hut, also known as a “cabanon”. It is on the sand and just 2 metres from the water. It is a very peaceful and zen place to be. AL We go to Venice and spend time there, and of course the South of France. I would also like to rediscover Asia and their culture, such as Cambodia. It has white sandy beaches to jungle villages. Plenty to explore! PR However sometimes you do not have to go so far, the treasure is around you. We went to all the way to New Zealand but it reminded me of Saint-Malo in Brittany. Europe has so much to offer.

AL Yes, a hybrid single-tiered engine room, which we incorporated on BRAVO EUGENIA (109 metre, Oceanco). It allows the designer more space to work with and flexibility on the interior layout. This will become more prevalent in the future as clients want more room on the lower deck. We will be able to connect guest areas straight to the beach club. PR The size of glass windows can be achieved without mullions. This opens up the interior to its environment. Glass is a big evolution in technology and most shipyards were not receptive to this change. However, they have now embraced designing larger windows. We are currently working on a project where we installed huge glass windows on the hull structure. It creates an incredible impression when you walk into the area.

How has the superyacht trends changed over the past decade? AL We found that clients want to spend more time on board, which means it will change the way superyachts are designed in the future. It will be more autonomous and longer range. We will incorporate more features from the outside world to fit their day-to-day life. On LADY S (93 metre, Feadship) we put in a 201-inch folding television that comes out of the deck by the pool. Or possibly a real-life snow room, where the client has fresh beautiful snow.

Which destinations are on your bucket list? What would you say are the three most important principles of design? PR I have always dreamt of going to Space. It would be a surreal and extreme experience, especially to see Earth from Space. We only have one life so we should live it to the fullest. AL I would love to sail around Tahiti and the French Polynesian Islands in the South pacific. It looks so unbelievably beautiful and so remote; I have to go there one day!

AL Balance, proportion and emphasis. PR Perspective, as you go from one room to another. It is also important to make s ome spaces bigger or more intimate. Good planning will give you better structure on layout. Last but not least, I would say the same – proportion.

Where is your favourite area on board?

What has been the biggest influence on your work to date?

AL It depends on the size of the vessel; on a larger yacht we are always drawn to be by the water however it is not that private. I would choose the bow as that is where you can enjoy the incredible views undisturbed.

PR Our clients are our main inspiration and influence. We are fortunate enough to have very interesting clients that push our boundaries and stimulate our creativity. For example, the Owner of AVIVA (98.4 metre, Abeking & Rasmussen) asked us to fit a tennis court in his superyacht. Our clients force us to think differently which we enjoy. It enables us to create clever and unique designs. We like to approach our projects with open ears and minds. If you have an “I know” attitude, you will never learn and develop your skills.

What are you currently interested in and how is it feeding into your designs? AL We are inspired by automotive design and this has translated onto our drawing board. LADY LARA (91 metre, Lürssen) is an example of a vessel that has lots of form in structure and sculpture in the design. Plenty of vessels are designed in 2D however we like to create in 3D – as you would in car design. PR I like the balance of having large windows to show off the incredible view but at the same time feeling very intimate and cosy within the interior space. This is a very interesting development to integrate into the design of a superyacht.

The ocean is essential to human life as we deeply rely on it. Life in the sea keeps our planet habitable for life everywhere. It makes up 97% of the total living space on earth, produces over 50% of the oxygen we breathe and absorbs much of the carbon dioxide that we produce. The ocean is one of the largest carbon sinks that can help mitigate climate change. Over one billion people depend on the ocean to provide them with their main source of animal protein and its one of the most reliable sources of natural energy.

Imperial joined the Blue Marine Yacht Club (BMYC) at the highest level, with a three-star membership to support BLUE’s mission. The BMYC unites the global yachting community in a clear mission to protect our ocean and ensure it remains a resource to be enjoyed by future generations. All donations received through the BMYC go directly to support BLUE’s projects around the world and its mission of protecting at least 30% of the world’s ocean by 2030.

Blue Marine Foundation are involved in projects that span the world from Ascension Island in the Atlantic to the Aeolian Islands in the Mediterranean, and the Maldives in the Indian ocean. Its work involves creating marine reserves, protection of the high seas, restoring marine habitats and supporting local small-scale, low impact coastal fishing communities. Technological advances in design and build of superyachts has helped bring more sustainable solutions on board. More money and time are being spent on building greener vessels to lessen their impact on the marine environment. This is encouraging and demonstrates that technology can help. However, greener technology will not solve the problem alone. The marine environment also needs conserving to allow it to fully restore. Imperial and other members from the industry are providing their support by partnering with BLUE or joining BLUE’s yacht club to help save and protect our ocean. Going forward, it is vital that yachting companies and charter guests implement methods to support this when chartering. Charter guests and companies can follow the BMYC Charter. The BMYC Charter provides a voluntary code of conduct for members and non-members to follow. Therefore, they can sail responsibly and feel confident that they are ocean friendly when at sea. This includes not taking single use plastic on board, being mindful of where you anchor and avoiding seagrass meadows. As well as using ocean friendly products like shower wash and sun lotion, purchasing your fish from local responsible fishermen and diving responsibly.

BLUE’s BMYC private event on board AMADEA (106.1 metre, Lürssen) in 2019, kindly supported by Imperial and Lürssen, was the most successful BMYC event BLUE has held to date. The event was extremely well attended with BMYC supporters and new supporters from the industry. A huge amount of money was raised on the night, as well as a very large donation by Evgeniy Kochman, CEO of Imperial. The evening marked a turning point in financial support for many of BLUE’s projects, especially its work in the UK Overseas Territories and Ascension Island. Every year BLUE hosts its BMYC event in Monaco at a very special venue, whether that be on board a superyacht or at the Monaco Yacht Club. The event on board AMADEA last year raised the bar. It provided BLUE the opportunity to gather existing and prospective BMYC supporters. As well as to speak about its work in a fabulous setting. The event enabled BLUE to raise its profile among new industry members and secure new support for its work. ... 01 02 03 04

... Amaffi Perfume House is renown to have an original method when working with perfumers. Amaffi plays the “role of a chief conductor of the orchestra”. The house has a creative and special approach to creating perfumes. Each Amaffi perfume requires an individual method, great effort, professionalism and talent of its creators. "We focus on recognised perfumers of our time, including those from France, the United Kingdom and the United States. Reaching mutual understanding with them, which further develops into a creative union and even personal friendship - this is the basis for success in creating fragrances-masterpieces" says Madame Amaffi. The uniqueness of working with selected perfumers lies in the fact that the company never demands to follow trends but gives its own vision of what it wants to see the fragrance in character, mood and personality. The perfumers are given complete freedom of creativity. Perfumers are not limited in the choice of ingredients and time to create them. This is an ode to the old art of perfuming making. The only strict instruction is that the perfumes must be divided into male and female. The focus of Amaffi’s perfumes are artisanship and quality. All the ingredients used are natural, organic and truly rare to find. The ingredients are sometimes hard to attain, yet the most exotic are always used. Among Amaffi’s favourite ingredients are precious rose cent-feuille which are produced and grown in Grasse, France. As well as Jasmin, Iris, Narcissus, Magnolias and Orchids. In addition to the flowers used, there is Sandalwood, Ambergris and Oud. The range of ingredients are very extensive which creates a distinct scent. Madame Amaffi quotes “to obtain 300ml of Narcissus oil or Jasmine oil, we must collect a half-ton of flowers. Iris oil is produced from the root, not the flower itself. Therefore, sometimes we must wait three to four years for enough oil to be produced. The process of the Amaffi fragrances are very complex but the smell it exudes is definitely worth it”. ... 01 The Amaffi laboratory 02 Amor and Psychea: rich fragrances of Sicillian orange, ambergris and tuberose 03 Royal Black Diamond: a mysterious scent of flowers and woody notes

Furthermore, each scent is carefully curated and truly bespoke where one fragrance can take one to two years to create. There is a lot of research and development before launching it in the boutique. The created fragrance is subjected to a number of tests and analysis, and finally passes certification of compliance with international standards. Only after that Amaffi proceeds to the production of these perfumes. When the formula is ready, the in-house design department starts to work on the design of the bottle and boxes. It is essential that the character of the fragrance, bottle features and box are all unified. It must reflect the essence of Amaffi perfumes which are all sophisticated, elegant and opulent. The bottle design is always ornate, either with Swarovski crystals placed by hand or plated with gold or silver. The royal range was decorated with over two-thousand Swarovski crystals, all fixed by hand. This process is lengthy and can be challenging as it takes two to three years from conception to completion.

Ms Amaffi has an impeccable sense of fragrances in combination with the experience of the perfumes who know the ingredients. This allows Madam Amaffi to choose distinct formulas amongst hundreds of options created by the perfumer. “We of course have small secrets within our process and formulas. We use innovative technologies to create something unique which is why our clients always say that they have never smelt anything similar” quotes Madame Amaffi. Both Madame Amaffi and the creative perfumers are the decision makers, rather than the marketers or distributors.

Amaffi works with the crème de la crème of perfume designers. “We monitor the market and select perfumes that share the same taste, understanding and vision as us. There must be synergy between the perfumer and the house to create a unique fragrance that cannot be repeated” says Madame Amaffi. The house does not follow market trends yet they are creating something beautiful that cannot be replicated.

The luxurious perfume house invests in their products to create the highest-quality perfume available. The Amaffi fragrance is a luxurious gift for all occasions, each perfume includes a 50ml companion of the same scent created for your convenience, to always have the perfume at hand. In addition, each purchase is gift wrapped with a set of playing cards or the brand’s scented candle. It is evident that Amaffi Perfume House chose “Possess and Rule” as their slogan, as their fragrance rules the hearts and minds of people, captivating them in the world of love and beauty.

FRENCH RIVIERA A-LIST ADVENTURE

WHEN TO GO MAY – SEPTEMBER

...

A-LIST ADVE N TURE ... The French Riviera is one of the most enticing destinations in the world. Here, between St Tropez and the Italian border, where the mountains meet the Mediterranean, shopping is an art form, eating out is high-end seduction and the streets are catwalks for the wealthy and well heeled. Its heritage is defined by glamorous personalities like Grace Kelly and Sophia Loren and its calendar is spiced with events like Monaco’s Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Cannes International Film Festival. The Côte d’Azur remains the spiritual home of the superyacht and the world’s most indulgent A-list playground.

1 Monaco might be the world’s second smallest country but its reputation as the wealthiest and most glamorous place on earth is fully deserved. Ignore the beaches and head for the old town with its royal palace, luxury boutiques and beautiful urbanites. The Café de Paris, Louis XV restaurant and Casino de Monte Carlo are particularly memorable.

≈ 15 Nm 2 Villefranche-sur-Mer The sheltered natural yacht harbour of Villefranche-sur-Mer makes a fine anchorage for watersports against a backdrop of the 14th century citadel and port. Nearby St Jean Cap Ferrat, with its white sandy beaches, verdant hillsides and enviable peninsula setting, is home to some of the most expensive residential properties in the world.

≈ 10 Nm 3 Eze is an impossibly picturesque Provençal village. Perching precariously on the edge of a steep cliff, its ancient zigzag streets are great for a stroll and there are plenty of art galleries, shops and restaurants to entertain. An alfresco meal at Michelin-starred Château Eza, overlooking your anchored yacht, is a truly indulgent experience.

4 Cap d’Antibes is a place of enduring legend. In addition to the expansive Juan-les-Pins beach resort, the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, with its private beach, spa and restaurant, is a well-established hotspot for touring glitterati. A short distance inland lies Vence, one of the best preserved medieval settlements in the region and a famous hub for artistic inspiration.

≈ 5 Nm 5 Cannes Iles de Lérins The elegant, cosmopolitan city of Cannes offers everything from fine dining and luxury shopping to sparkling beaches and a vibrant nightlife. Across the bay, Île Sainte-Marguerite’s translucent creeks are great for a leisurely swim and the nearby Île Saint-Honorat is owned and run by Cistercian monks, who make and sell award-winning wines.

≈ 24 Nm 6 St Tropez is notorious for its high-end hedonism and nearby Pampelonne Beach has been a shining exponent of that ethos since Brigitte Bardot first embraced it in the 1950s. Today, the town’s old port is a great spot for superyacht cocktails and St Tropez tself is full of bars and nightclubs. The star-studded Caves du Roy is a particular highlight.

≈ 35 Nm 7 Porquerolles Just west of St Tropez, Porquerolles is a tranquil chain of islands and a protected nature reserve with ravishing white beaches and elegant coves. Robert Louis Stevenson was inspired to write Treasure Island here so if the French Riviera’s high-octane entertainments become a bit much, the modest serenity of Porquerolles is the perfect tonic.

F R ANC O - I TALIAN INDULGENCE ... The French island of Corsica is a lush, volcanic destination with a distinctly Italian flavour. On the east coast, the terrain is flat and beachy with a scattering of compact harbours, while in the west, a wild cascade of steep cliffs and rock stacks plunges unchecked into the open sea. Here, the complex deepwater shoreline creates a landscape that’s not just more dramatic but also more versatile for roaming superyachts. But whichever part of Corsica’s 600-mile coastline you favour, the island’s resolutely distinctive culture, cuisine and customs are a world apart from the mainstream charter destinations of Italy and France. 5 Bonifacio At the end of a narrow inlet between vertical cliffs, topped with craggy hilltop fortifications, the sun-bleached Italianate citadel of Bonifacio is a spectacular destination. With an ancient harbour that is just as memorable as the interwoven alleyways of the old town, Bonifacio is a shining beacon for the gruff, organic loveliness of this salt-soaked island.

≈ 30 Nm 6 Porto Vecchio With its resident population of TV celebrities, the ancient fortified town of Porto Vecchio enjoys a reputation as a distinctly prestigious destination. The narrow streets of the elegant old town and the pretty, café-lined marina enjoy a happy, languorous decadence – and the local beaches are first class

2 Calvi As the nearest port to mainland France, Calvi is a serious shipping hub with first-rate superyacht facilities. THE LIGURIAN HIGH-LIFE ... Like its French equivalent, the Italian Riviera features narrow waterfront strips against an Alpine backdrop, with high-end shopping and first-rate cuisine. Here, however, the shore is littered with fishing villages, some of which (like Portofino) have achieved super-chic status; and others (like those around La Spezia) that retain an authentic salt crust on their tumbling technicolour buildings. There are plenty of extraordinary coastal walks, sheltered bays, secluded beaches and lofty cliffs, but what makes the Italian charter experience so special is that it fuses maritime tradition with 21st century luxury to better effect than anywhere else in the world.

1 San Remo As a historical refuge for the pampered elite, the balmy Ligurian resort of San Remo is arguably the showiest destination on the Riviera. This Roman settlement is a hotbed of ritzy, casino-style nightlife, the enormous harbour is a renowned superyacht hub and the bars, shops and cafés ooze with appropriate cosmopolitanism.

≈ 65 Nm 2 Genoa Regional capital, Genoa, is the worldly counterpoint to the compact elegance of the outlying towns and villages. In addition to a buzzing arts scene, a plentiful supply of high-class dive sites and a beautiful old harbour, it offers several classical districts, where the manic mishmash of multicoloured villas plunges steeply to the sea.

4 Portovenere The impossibly lovely headland settlement of Portovenere is a wonderful place to sit among the waterfront villas and revel in the quiet prestige, the rustic elegance and the maritime gentility of it all. From here, Cinque Terre is also within reach – a mountainous shoreline encompassing five famously unspoiled fishing villages.

≈ 22 Nm 5 Viareggio The promenade and the high-spec marina sit right at the heart of this traditional seaside resort – and while the town’s shipbuilding roots have largely given way to tourism, the youthful energy of the upmarket beach scene is extremely attractive. Viareggio also makes an ideal stopover for a daytrip to Pisa or Florence.

≈ 65 Nm 6 Elba The Isle of Elba feels like a Caribbean paradise in the middle of the Med. Its shores are blessed with lofty headlands, sandy bays and protected rural landscapes. Its clear, richly stocked waters are great for diving and Portoferraio, the historic centre, is at once an authentic fishing town and a sophisticated leisure destination.

≈ 17 Nm Portofino The fabled Italian fishing village of Portofino nestles between herb-strewn hillsides in a protected reserve at the apex of a turquoise inlet. Its pristine loveliness is deeply affecting but don’t discount the nearby port towns of Santa Margherita and Rapallo. They might be less gentrified, but for the charter yacht explorer, they’re every bit as memorable.

7 Porto Ercole Technically, the Tuscan seaside resort of Porto Ercole falls a good way outside the limits of the Italian Riviera – but as a pretty town wrapped around a natural deepwater harbour with an expansive and entertaining marina at its heart, its value to the roaming superyacht skipper is beyond question. Up on the hill, various 16th century fortifications keep watch over the town’s pastille coloured streets and the seasonal effervescence in and around the long town promenade is brilliantly infectious.

Here, the irrepressible vim of party resorts like Porto Cervo is supplemented with an astonishing wealth of secluded coves, sheltered anchorages and dramatic views and seascapes. ≈ 10 Nm 2 Tavolara Island Tavolara explodes from the sea like a mountain peak – and with nothing but a restaurant, a bar and a beach, it is almost perfectly untouched. Remarkably, this tiny patch of land has been an independent monarchy ever since a 19th century Genoese sailor proclaimed himself King, so as unusual anchorages go, it makes a wonderful detour.

Mahon Perched on a ridge above a saltwater inlet, Mahon is a very charming, small-scale and intimate city, with indisputably elegant Georgian-style architecture and a relaxed alfresco food culture that quickly salves the mind. Though it enjoys a pleasant seasonal buzz, it’s rarely overcrowded outside of the riotous Nuestra Señora de Gràcia Festival in September.

4 Puerto de Sóller Having been the subject of substantial investment over the past decade, Puerto de Sóller’s harbour has become one of the island’s most lavish charter hubs. It sits in the arc of a generous bay, creating a sheltered playground for a picturesque anchorage and a half-mile beach that is tailor-made for watersports.

5 Palma de Mallorca The elegant alfresco entertainment and suave cosmopolitanism of Palma de Mallorca make it a huge charter favourite. The glittering marina is full of outrageously high-end yachts and the town itself is a thriving year-round bastion of artistic and cultural vivacity, with buzzing bars and cafés, beautiful beaches and complex networks of atmospheric backstreets to explore.

≈ 43 Nm Ciutadella de Menorca With its commercial fishing fleet and its yacht charter luxury, its ancient charm and its modern energy, the west coast town of Ciutadella is every bit the equal of Menorca’s capital city. The beaches are beautiful, the port is lined with colourful restaurants and the romantic square at Placa d’es Born is a fine base for old town exploration.

≈ 35 Nm Port d’Alcudia Alcudia, northern Mallorca’s biggest holiday resort, offers plenty of white sandy bays with easy gradients and warm shallow waters. Meanwhile, in the old town, heaped up within the vast peripheral ramparts, a blend of boutique shops, lively markets and quality restaurants adds some mature continental chic to the region’s family-friendly offering.

...

...

With many dining options, this makes entertaining guests a remarkable experience. We interviewed the creative Chef Phil Long of FLYING FOX who enlightened us about the best of Greek cuisine and the culinary experience on board.

Do some of your charter guests enjoy pushing your creative boundaries? Absolutely, every day! It starts around day three or four where guests start to feel more comfortable. My fondest memory is actually having the guest involved where it felt like a cooking class. Everyone was covered in flour, picking herbs and putting them on the focaccia. It was like a big family cooking lunch.

What is your first memory of cooking? I have a vivid memory of this. I was eight years old and it was June or July. The weather was amazing, especially for England. In the garden behind our house, we dug a big fire pit underneath the ground. We wrapped potatoes and root vegetables in tin foil and put them in the ground with hot coals on top and then covered it with turf. Everything was cooking underneath the ground. It truly caught my attention. What makes FLYING FOX’s culinary experience different to other yachts? The dining experience from the bridge deck aft is one of a kind. No other superyacht in the world has what FLYING FOX offers. We use a combination of different types of coals (coal from coconut shells, coal made from ash and coal made from Japanese aged oak). This gives very distinct flavours to the raw ingredient you are working with, whether that be fish or red meat. We also use wood which is another natural product. Using natural materials like wood or coal to enhance the flavour is very unique. Do you use local ingredients? E.g. if chartered to Greece, will fresh produce be sourced and used? Yes, we use local independent food suppliers, local olive oil and cheese mongers. FLYING FOX offers guests a one of a kind culinary experience where sometimes there is no middle man. We are able to source ourselves by fishing and diving. We bare in mind to keep all produce very clean, natural and organic. We had a long charter in the Maldives and one of the deck members is into free diving and fishing. He went down in the mornings and afternoons to catch lobsters. We set up a barbeque on the beach for our guests and he came back with a big bag of live lobsters. Twenty minutes later our guests were eating. How much fresher can you get! What are your top three favourite ingredients to cook with? Citrus fruits, fresh herbs and anything from the sea. These are three ingredients that can be utilised in a variety of ways. Citrus fruits and fresh herbs instantly elevate the meal, adding brightness and flavour. How does your food differ from that of a high-end shoreside restaurant? Any client going to a restaurant, they are limited to what is shown on the menu. In our case, before a guest steps on board, the team already know what they like. We tailor the menu to cater to their specific needs. We sit down for hours putting down information about each guest. From everything to how they like their coffee in the morning, what time they wake up or what activities they will be doing that day. We have prerequisite knowledge of who they are.

Which part of the world influences your cooking the most? The western part of the Europe, the Mediterranean cuisine is the best in the world. The produce is so fresh and diverse. I would also say South American cuisine. The style of food is very punchy and citrusy but it is still so light and fresh. Mediterranean fuses very well with South American cuisine. What is a restaurant in Greece that you would recommend? Botrini’s is a two Michelin starred restaurant in Athens. His concept revolves around combining simple dishes with his signature touch. Why has Mediterranean and Greek cuisine become a major trend? The whole concept of Mediterranean and Greek food is that it is light, fresh and relatively healthy. There is also so much authenticity in Greek food. There are no labels attached to how they produce. Everything is just fresh. What is it that you love the most about Greek cuisine? Food is much more than sustenance. It is about culture and tradition. Greek food has a reputation for being healthy with its use of olive oil, fish, lean meats, vegetables and herbs. It is simple and fresh, yet has bold flavours. What is a full day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) ideal menu (Greek inspired) that you would propose? We would start the day serving homemade Greek yogurts, freshly baked breads and pastries and a selection of cheese boards and fruit boards. As well as poached eggs on charred sourdough with the FLYING FOX smoked salmon. For lunch, to start with a yellow fin tuna carpaccio with pine nut dressing. For the main course, grilled octopus with crispy black risotto and smoked tomato salsa or lamb cooked over the tandoor with hand rolled cavatelli. To finish this delightful day, I would propose many different types of starters such as Lebanese flat breads served with smoked Aubergine (Melitzanosalata), hummus and salads. For the main course, a lobster linguine with fresh basil and burnt chili or grilled black bream with ash cooked clams and salsa. ... 02 FLYING FOX comes with an expert & professional waiting & catering team 03 The chef at work in the one-of-a-kind FLYING FOX aft deck galley

AEGEAN ISLAND ADVE N TURE ... In the southern reaches of the Aegean Sea, between the Greek mainland, the Turkish Riviera and the northern shores of Crete, the Cyclades island group is arguably Greece’s most alluring destination. It’s a place where chalky, whitewashed walls, colourful rooftops, olive groves, vineyards and classical ruins perch above picturesque old harbours and deserted coves. It’s a place of shipwrecks, sunsets and sandy beaches; of honeymooners and romantic escapes. From the slow, traditional rurality of Syros to the ‘destination glamour’ of modish Santorini, the varied delights of this close-packed archipelago are easily accessible on a week’s charter from Athens.

1 Athens With an enviable position just five miles from the city centre, Athens Marina puts you on the cusp of elegant streets, fast-paced urban entertainments and extraordinary archaeological sites. The Acropolis and Parthenon are of course major highlights, but the genteel Plaka quarter is also a memorable place for its authentic Greek cuisine.

≈ 76 Nm 2 Syros The island of Syros is not a carefully preserved tourist utopia, but an authentic Greek hub, with the bustling old Cycladic port town of Ermoupoli at its heart. While the bulk of the island is rural, Ermoupoli is an apex for ferry travel in the north, a fine gastronomic destination and a happily uncontrived four-season resort.

≈ 18 Nm 3 Mykonos Mykonos is well established as a party destination, but it’s not just about all-night clubbers. It’s also a magnet for cruise ship visitors, preening fashionistas and touring celebrities. In addition to its cosmopolitan profile, Mykonos boasts some fine beaches, many with useful anchorages, plus a renowned restaurant scene and some crowd-pleasing Cycladic architecture.

4 Paros While it doesn’t enjoy the exalted profile of its noisy neighbours, Paros is a major highlight for cruising yachtsmen. The relative absence of tourists makes the elegant capital much easier to enjoy and the proximity of smaller Antiparos to the southwest offers plenty of opportunity for a sheltered inlet and a private swim at anchor.

≈ 38 Nm 5 Folegandros The modest size and sparse population of Folegandros gives it a remote, natural beauty as yet unaffected by tourism. The port town of Karavostasi is a pleasant low-key experience and in accordance with its reputation as the ’Island of Peace’, the leafy town of Chora is closed to motorised traffic. This is as pristine as an Aegean hideaway gets.

≈ 38 Nm 6 Santorini Romantic Santorini is the most classically beautiful island in the entire archipelago. Blessed with dramatic clifftop towns such as Fira and Oia, plus rich vineyards and famous sunsets, its inverted C-shape offers plenty of shelter from the swells so you can anchor up in peace – and there are several smaller volcanic islands within easy reach.

The 36th America’s Cup Match will be held in Auckland, New Zealand, from the 6th to the 21st of March 2021 and will see the Defender Emirates Team New Zealand racing against the winner of the Prada Cup. The Challenger Selection Series which is raced between the Challenging teams 15th January and 22nd February. The winner of the Prada Cup will race the Defender in a first to score seven points regatta to decide the winner of the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada.

The competition has gone through multiple generations of transitions with every edition, but the unique thing about the America’s Cup is that its foundations have generally always stayed the same by being tied to ‘The Deed of Gift’ which is the founding document which has certain requirements of each event that go all the way back in 1851 recounts Hayden Porter. The America’s Cup is all about facing challenges, be it competitive, financial or time. Therefore, how teams adapt best to the individual or collective challenges that they face will be the true test. The 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada has thrown up more challenges than anyone could ever have imagined with the global COVID-19 pandemic. It has affected all teams significantly, but the event will happen. Thus, it is a race to be as best prepared as possible by the first race of the America’s Cup Match and more importantly the last race.

America’s Cup is one of the oldest and reputed trophies in international sailing yacht competition. It was first known as the Hundred Guinea Cup in 1851 by the Royal Yacht Squadron of Great Britain. The cup was won by AMERICA, a 30-metre schooner from New York City. Subsequently it became known as the America’s Cup. It is one of the most difficult sporting trophies to win, held by just four nations in the last 169 years. The quest for America’s Cup has pioneered innovations and advancements in sailboat design, construction and equipment. Since 1851, the America’s Cup has been synonymous with technology and innovation. “The fastest boat always wins” is a saying that has rung true for 170 years. However, it is the team that has been the most innovative, most willing to push the boundaries that has held the Auld Mug aloft in its colourful history says Hayden Porter, CEO of Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. The path is determined by the decision’s teams make and things they do during their 3-year campaign, not just what happens on the water during racing in 2021. The roles within America’s Cup teams are extremely varied across the team. According to Hayden Porter, while in essence the America’s Cup is a yacht race, in reality it is actually a design race. Each team has sailors, designers, engineers, boat builders, sail makers, logistics, administration, legal, weather, marketing, sponsorship and a number of other roles to cover all bases required to successfully with the America’s Cup. Similar to Formula One, the America’s Cup has always been about pushing technology, engineering and athletes quotes Jimmy Spithill, two-time winner.

The 36th America’s Cup will be situated in the heart of Auckland’s city, at the start of Hobson’s Wharf continuing through the Eastern Viaduct and the Western Viaduct. Imperial is proud to provide superyacht charters in New Zealand for guests to capture the excitement of the regatta. New Zealand boasts of diverse regions and landscapes, as well as vibrant cultures. It continues to be home to some of the world’s best skippers, sailors and captains. The cup’s host city, Auckland is known for its beauty and hospitality. It is enveloped by white-sand beaches and black-sand surf spots. It has 3,700kilometres of coastline. The racing course area for the Prada Cup and America’s Cup is defined by a varied area across Hauraki Gulf, running south along the North Shore beaches around inner Waitemata harbour. They are known to be the jewel in Auckland’s crown as it provides a plethora of race course options with an array of wind directions and conditions. ... 01 02 03 04 04

* Charter rate begins at this figure – stated sum represents the minimum weekly charter rate. Rates & charter lengths vary.

• Charter rates are quoted per week for the hire of the yacht but a charter period can be of any length. • Charter periods are calculated pro-rata against the weekly rate. High-season rates apply to the most popular charter periods (i.e. July, August, Christmas and New Year) and are normally applicable to all major events such as the Monaco Grand Prix & the Cannes Film Festival. ... Describe a typical day of a Dive Master onboard FLYING FOX? A typical day starts early to check the weather conditions and currents wherever we are currently based. This usually consists of a reconnaissance dive to ensure that the chosen area offers the correct conditions for the level of divers. After returning to the main vessel, we conduct a brief and prepare the days diving plan with the bridge team. Guests are met with enthusiasm by our professional team. We help prepare the necessary equipment and ensure they are comfortable. We conduct a safety briefing on board and head out to the dive site in our well-equipped dive tenders. After a short break and reset of equipment we would be ready to conduct afternoon dives and also night dives along with any other watersport’s requests. What itinerary would you recommend to discover the seabed? A diving itinerary I would like to experience is starting in the Poor Knight Islands located in New Zealand around late February. Then moving north to Fiji in March. Here we can dive the famous astrolabe reef, bligh water and tiger shark coves. Moving east in April towards French Polynesia to discover Society Islands and the Tuamotus where the diving is as wild and secluded. What are the top locations to dive during a summer charter? The Komodo National Park in Indonesia includes three large islands (Komodo, Rinca and Padar) as well as many small islands. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was initially established to conserve the unique Komodo Dragon. Komodo is an underwater paradise. The variety of fish is unreal, all swimming in crystal clear waters. In addition, the famed French Polynesia. It is a legendary destination that boasts of underwater magic. It offers a wide array of dive sites for beginners to advanced divers. There is an abundance of marine life amongst the pristine waters. Last but not least the Cocos Islands in Costa Rica. The Island is dotted with jungle, massive mountains and impressive waterfalls. However, it is the sea that is the star of the show. It has the highest biomass of smaller species in the world. ... 01 Pre-dive briefing outside the impressive FLYING FOX dive centre 02 Guests are met with enthusiasm by our professional team 03 Komodo National Park

Is the FLYING FOX dive centre unique compared to other superyachts? The diving centre on FLYING FOX is one of the most advanced within the industry. It offers basic open circuit scuba diving for beginners to advanced closed circuit decompression dives as well as 100-metre deep dives. We have the ability to blend helium, oxygen and air to create the perfect mix for any depth. We offer rebreather diving for beginners and advanced students; we have full face mask diving. All equipped with communications and dive propulsion vehicles to cover long distances.

Why is diving a good charter activity? Depending on what you are looking for in diving, you can find it. For those wanting a relaxing experience breathing underwater, there are many calm areas to dive whilst looking at the incredible fish life. If you are an avid thrill seeker, we offer drift dives where you jump in and watch the underwater world go whizzing past. We can also take you down to explore wrecks that have a magical story behind them.

What kind of diving/water toys adventure while onboard FLYING FOX would you recommend for thrill seekers? For those who like to seek adventures, we provide night dives, deep dives or drift dives. This offers a challenge and a different type of experience. For other water sports enthusiasts, we have the Zapata Jet pack, Hoverboard and Flyboard. This is a great way to fly above the water and gets your adrenaline pumping. Another popular choice is the electric foil board (E-Foil). Most users are up and riding on their first attempt, speeding above the surface of the water. How is FLYING FOX equipped for a diving aficionado? We have a highly trained crew who are some of the most enthusiastic in the industry. They are willing to share their knowledge gained from diving around the world. We have an extensive range of several brands to offer if the guests have their own favourite equipment supplier. With the assistance of our on-board Medic, we can also discuss the world of dive medicine. In addition, we even offer dry dive experiences in the hyperbaric chamber on board. What equipment do you have on board? FLYING FOX boasts of one of the most impressive diving centres in the world. She offers open circuit, scuba diving, nitrox, full face mask specialty, closed circuit, experienced rebreather diving, technical trimix diving and plenty more. The vessel is also equipped with a fully functioning three-seater Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber in case of any eventualities. The dive centre comes with compressor pumps and its own folding platform as a starting point for underwater adventures. For experienced divers, a professional double lock decompression chamber IHC 1600mm with three places are available, which is considered amongst the best available today. Charter guests will find a great variation of diving suits and even the latest generation of underwater cameras are offered to capture incredible sights. Furthermore, there is a huge selection of surfboards as well as wake boards, paddle boards and sea-bobs.

Where are your top three favourite spots for diving? My favourite spots for diving include Rangiroa in the French Polynesia. It is known to be one of the world’s greatest destinations for diving. The beautiful loop of islands is surrounded by different kinds of oceans (Moana-tea and Moana-uri, translated to peaceful and wild ocean). The waters are teeming with vibrant marine life. Furthermore, Sipadan Island in Malaysia is a marine paradise. Renowned amongst divers for its rich underwater diversity and pristine reefs. It has over 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of coral species calling this island home. As well as Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt. With sunshine and warm waters all year round, it is loved by many. In addition, there are outstanding coral reefs and dive sites to discover. What is the most interesting thing you have seen whilst diving? We embarked on a night dive in the Maldives where our dive group startled a sleeping nurse shark. She was just as surprised to see us. This followed with schools of jacks surrounding our group as an electro coloured squid passed by. ... 04 Fully equipped dive store with compressor pumps and its own folding platform on the waters edge 05 Large selection of water sports equipment to choose from: wake boarding, wake surfing & water skiing to name a few. 06 The hugely spacious, world-class FLYING FOX dive store 07 For experienced divers, a professional double lock decompression chamber HC1 600mm with three seats is available. It is considered amongst the best available today

ON-BOARD LANA ...

The brand-new 107m LANA delivered in the summer of 2020 has already made her splash. She is an example of true excellence with outstanding quality and unique style.

...

...

What are some of LANA’s unique features? LANA has no shortage of impeccable features. The spacious 120sqm Beach Club affords guests a true feeling of indoor and outdoor living, as it is right on the water’s edge. The vast sun deck of 100sqm is perfect for hosting summer parties, yet there are also hidden spots for guests seeking a quiet space. LANA boasts of high ceilings (up to 2.7-meters) in all guest areas, which are hardly ever seen on a superyacht. This creates a sense of grandeur and illusion of being on land. All guest interior spaces are fitted with oversized windows which has recently become a trend within the superyacht industry. It provides a magnificent panoramic view of the scenery. The state-of-the-art Hammam spa is the perfect environment to immerse in a relaxing ritual. The ornate walls extend the peaceful spa experience.

On day four, we arrive at the Peninsula of Sinis in Sardinia. The area has been inhabited since the 5th century BC. The powder soft beaches surrounded by the green country side makes this a lush escape. Chia is one of the finest places to go in the province of Cagliari. The turquoise sea and peach coloured sand are famous. Su Giudeu is one of the best for water sports including surfing, scuba diving and snorkelling. A guest favourite is Porto Cervo. The picturesque village is full of boutiques and restaurants. Cala di Volpe is a large inlet which includes four beaches among the most beautiful bays of the Costa Smeralda. Visit the famous hotel Cala di Volpe designed by Jaques Coulle, inspired by features of traditional country villages. Heading back to Porto Vecchio, Corsica, guests will find a natural, lagoon-like harbour. The old town has a charming atmosphere as well as many interesting sites to visit. Before heading back, my favourite is a stopover at Cap Corse, up north of the island. It is charged with history, nature and heritage. Discover the famous vineyards, taste the local production of olive oil, goat cheese and honey. Furthermore, there is forty kilometres of unspoilt waters to discover.

Where have been some of your favourite places you have visited on board LANA? LANA was newly launched mid-summer 2020. Since her delivery we have been very dynamic. We cruised around Malta, Sardinia, Corsica, South of France and extensively around Central and South Adriatic. LANA has developed a fantastic cruising itinerary for maiden voyage and still going. Can you share your favourite itinerary on board LANA? My favourite itinerary is starting from Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, South of France, then exploring Corsica and Sardinia. It combines beautiful unspoilt waters, remote beaches, culture and some glamour. The old fishing village of Saint-Jean-CapFerrat offers exceptional panoramic views. Once the guests are asleep, we start our journey to Corsica. We arrive in Piana where guests can explore the Scandola Natural Reserve. Under the red granite cliffs, the park boasts of an unparalleled wealth of flora, rare bird species and an abundance of underwater fauna. Bonifacio is one of the most memorable harbours for its fish soup and views from the citadelle. There are also many trendy bars and restaurants at night to explore.

Where do you think LANA would be best chartered? I believe LANA will please her charter guests wherever they desire to take her. She can proudly compete in popular destinations such as the Mediterranean and Caribbean. As well as remote areas such as Central and South America all the way to the Indian and Pacific Ocean. LANA has the right proportion of open decks combined with spacious interiors. She has an incredible appeal that offers guests a unique cruising experience. LANA is distinct, sleek and elegant; mixing expert knowledge at sea with unforgettable moments.

Where is LANA heading this winter season? LANA will most likely be heading to the Indian Ocean, which is perfect for a charter guest looking for winter sun. Imperial’s charter department with the help of our team on-board will create a bespoke itinerary that will tick off everything on your list. Where is your favourite charter destination? My favourite charter destination is the Mediterranean tied with the Bahamas. They are both diverse as a cruising ground, offering remote and secluded areas as well as popular spots. In addition, the journey is absolutely scenic, matched with excellent cuisine and exceptional activities. What are some of hidden gems around this charter destination? Both the Mediterranean and Bahamas are enveloped by stunning sandy beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters. The Bahamas has many deserted islands to explore and the beauty of the underwater world may even compete! The waters are teeming with unique marine life and vibrant corals. There are plentiful sheltered diving and snorkelling spots to discover. In addition, the simple and happy local life offers a calming effect when stepping on the island. It is the perfect escape from a busy life.

03

Which places are on your yachting bucket list? On my bucket list you will find the Norwegian Fjords, Galapagos Islands, Cook Islands, Tahiti, French Polynesia and Fiji. Each of these dazzling destinations offer a unique yachting experience with an array of activities exclusive to that region. LANA has the sea capabilities to travel to any of the listed areas. What can guests expect when chartering LANA? Guests can expect the highest echelon of luxury cruising. Built to discover the all corners of the globe, spectacular interior design by fine Italian craftsmanship and an abundance of amenities such as spa, 70 sqm cinema, beach club and pool to name a few. She also has a fully kitted-out selection of water-toys and warm crew who will go the extra mile to add personal touches. All of this creates unparalleled and unforgettable guest experiences.

04

As LANA was only delivered recently, how much effort did the crew put in to make her ready for her debut charter season? Despite LANA’s recent delivery, she has already proved herself to be very popular. Within days, she was set to explore the Mediterranean this summer. To get the vessel to the present pristine level, it took long hours and lots of muscle, matched equally with great pride and lots of dedication. What should potential client guests know about LANA? LANA is fast becoming the charter superyacht of choice and most exciting superyacht on the scene. The vessel is innovative and complex, meaning she is able to serve her guests the maximum amount of comfort and can travel anywhere the guest may desire. LANA has been rigorously tested in different circumstances to ensure a delightful future. She provides an extraordinary experience for all her guests and the crew looks forward to hosting them on board!

Imperial enjoys longstanding partnerships with some of the finest luxury shipyards and the most celebrated designers of the modern age. That has enabled it to play a major role in the construction of some of the largest, most ambitious and most revered superyachts the world has ever seen.

It is easy to talk about attention to detail, but when you step aboard yachts of this calibre, the merits of Imperial’s uniquely fastidious approach are palpable.

By deploying an entire team of experienced professionals at the chosen shipyard to monitor and oversee every aspect of the construction, Imperial has generated some true landmark vessels. They include EVENT (Amels 60m) and ARKLEY (Lurssen 60m), both of which won World Superyacht Awards. They include ASTRA (Amels 55m), LILI (Amels 55m), SUPPORT VESSEL 6711 (Damen 67m) and PROJECT 783 (Nobiskrug 73.5m). They also include iconic yachts like RoMEA (Abeking & Rasmussen 81.8m) and AMORE VERO (Oceanco 87.50m), as well as LANA (Benetti 107m) and FLYING FOX (Lürssen 136m) – which is the single largest superyacht ever offered for charter.

The construction of the client’s ideal yacht is of course a very complex process but with Imperial, it is never a logistical inconvenience. On the contrary, by creating, growing and giving life to each project; by enabling the owner to be as involved as he desires; and by being clear and transparent throughout the build process, Imperial clients enjoy the benefits of our 360-degree approach right from day one. ... 01 02 03 04 05

The project’s inception At the heart of every new build project is a set of key decisions. Does the client intend to cross the Atlantic, push the frontiers among the icebergs of Antarctica or island-hop among the tightly packed archipelagos of the Mediterranean? What about the performance, the sleeping capacity and the living space priorities? Will it be used for charter or preserved for the owner himself? Once the client has worked through these central questions, his Imperial broker will select the designer and builder best suited to his needs and assemble a highly experienced team to help manage and complete his dream project.

Client collaboration While Imperial is fully content to take charge of the entire process, the client can of course be as involved as he likes. He can have full access to the technical elements and a central role in every decision-making process; or he can step back and let the Imperial team take care of the finer details. Either way, the client will still receive regular reports to keep him abreast of key developments, including progress with build and developments with design, as well as regular financial breakdowns.

Imperial’s role Imperial protects the future owner’s interests by acting both as the Construction Manager and the Owner’s Representative. Each new project is allocated a set of designated professionals: a Project Manager, based at the chosen yard, to supervise construction on a day-to-day basis and to keep the build on schedule; a Build Engineer, Electrical & Electronics Engineer and Interior Quality Manager to implement internal design and take charge of each detail of the fit-out; a Financial Manager to keep control of finances and to compile regular budget reports for the client; and a Build Captain and Build Engineer to oversee the final stages of construction and to bring the yacht into operation. Throughout the entire process, Imperial’s teams keep a tight grip on the quality, the timeline and the expenses to ensure that all elements of the build surpass the client’s expectations. Design and build Imperial works with some of the finest designers and shipyards of the modern age - from the celebrated minds of Espen Øino, Tim Heywood, Laura Sessa, François Zuretti, Terence Disdale and Mark Berryman to famed superyacht builders like Lürssen, Nobiskrug, Abeking & Rasmussen, Oceanco and Amels. The client’s personal ambitions will help define the most effective combination of designer and builder, but whatever kind of yachting he enjoys, he can rest assured that the people who create his dream will share Imperial’s passion for superyachts – right down to the last exquisite detail.

Full-package services Imperial offers a through-life management service encompassing everything required for enjoyable and problem-free yacht ownership. From finance, design and construction through to crew, charter, marketing and eventual sale, Imperial’s full-spectrum infrastructure is designed to take care of it. All the owner has to do is relax and enjoy. ... 06 Yacht building at Nobiskrug’s Kiel facilities 07 LANA begins her journey to open sea

Imperial has partnered with some of the most exclusive shipyards over the past decade to deliver ground-breaking superyachts. Imperial has continued to act as Owner’s Representative and Build Supervisor on many incredible projects. With the past iconic deliveries of AMADEA (Lürssen 106.10-metre), FLYING FOX (Lürssen 136-metre) and LANA (Benetti 107-metre) amongst many others. Imperial celebrates their partnerships with shipyards and designers which has enabled the construction of some of the largest, ambitious and pioneering superyachts the world has ever seen. By acting as Construction Manager and Owner’s Representative, the team maintains a tight grip on the quality, attention to detail and timeline to guarantee a superb delivery. Imperial further enhances their 360-degree approach by extending their knowledge on building the most technological advanced and innovative vessels. With past expertise on building 100metre+ superyachts, it is evident that Imperial is the right choice when embarking on this journey of new construction. Imperial marks the next decade with the following superyachts to be delivered.

BLACK SHARK has progressed despite the global lockdown. It is becoming closer to the initial design. Now that all the dirty work is gone, she will look a little more like the final product. BLACK SHARK was transferred from Kiel to Rendsburg in Nobiskrug’s local facilities in February 2020. Her superstructure has already been fixed to the hull as she now enters the dock for her final construction stages.

The new addition to Imperial is Project SIGNATURE. This 120-metre superyacht will be the largest vessel built by the team at Amels and Damen Yachting and moreover, the largest vessel built to date in the Netherlands. Part of this savvy team is Espen Øino, who Imperial has had a long-standing relationship with. Boundaries will be pushed by ensuring an eco-friendly approach. With the environment in mind, the vessel is designed and engineered according to the Lloyds Register of Shipping EP (Environment Protection) notation. Project SIGNATURE will be the most striking, advanced and silent superyacht ever delivered. The vessel will be setting new innovative standards for the 100meter+ yachting world. This revolutionary superyacht will be powered by diesel-electric engines and Azipod electric propulsion. The vessel will have close to zero noise levels and vibration, a first ever for a superyacht of this size. Imperial is proud to be a part of this yachting masterpiece. This project is set to be delivered in 2025. BLUE MARLIN is an innovative 77-metre superyacht that will truly stand out within her range. This exciting project is built in collaboration with Admiral and also Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design. The idea behind this project was to combine the elegance of nautical tradition with the use of pioneering technologies. With the intention to be eco-sustainable, BLUE MARLIN will be equipped with state-of-the-art diesel/ electric propulsion system. Her exterior will exude refinement and adventure whilst maintaining her elegance. A main feature will be the abundance of exterior space, a 6-metre pool, spa and helipad. The shipyard has had a very flexible approach by fully customising the vessel. This project is set for delivery in 2023.

Another Nobiskrug collaboration is Project 794 (62-metres). Project 794’s exterior is designed by the creative Espen Øino. The superyacht will benefit from expansive exterior deck spaces and a generous open-plan layout on five levels. This project is a performance-driven and high-volume superyacht. The vessel boasts of contemporary elements with a timeless appeal. She will feature a 7metre glass walled pool as well as an abundance of state-of-the-art water toys. The superyacht has been moved from Kiel shipyard into the superyacht hall of Rendsburg facility in May 2020. Now that she is in Rendsburg, she will be expertly outfitted in the ultra-modern and climatecontrolled superyacht hall. The leading catamaran designer and manufacturer, Sunreef Yacht is set to build a fully custom 49-metre twin-hulled superyacht. Imperial will be a part of the most luxurious catamaran and biggest made in Poland as of yet. She will be manufactured at the Sunreef Yacht facilities in the city of Gdansk. There will be a tri-deck concept thanks to the 17-metre beam. She will have an abundance of outdoor living areas operated by seventeen crew members. Sunreef Yachts is an exemplary shipyard which specialises in luxury multihull design and build. This new exciting concept is an ambitious endeavour that the industry has never seen before. The catamaran-superyacht is due for delivery in the second half of 2021. ... 08 Espen Øino sketch of the 120m Project SIGNATURE 09 Sketch of the innovative 77m BLUE MARLIN 10 Design render of Sunreef Yacht's 49m twin-hulled superyacht 11 Project 794, Nobiskrug 62m 12 BLACK SHARK under construction at Nobiskrug last year 13 Custom 15m Windy tender, build under the supervision of Imperial

Either way, Imperial puts precise protocols in place to govern how your vessel operates on a day-to-day basis and a designated Financial Manager is a key part of that. In addition to organising budgets and accounts, checking component orders and paying invoices, the Financial Manager prepares regular financial reports for the owner, providing a clear picture of a yacht’s running costs and avoiding any unnecessary expenses. ...

Selling your yacht and offering it for charter require two very different skillsets – but whichever you have in mind, Imperial has the experience, the contacts, the personnel and the approach to present it in the best way to the best audience.

What makes Imperial’s marketing team so effective? • A powerful presence at international boat shows, including Monaco, Cannes, Barcelona, Dubai, Singapore, Fort Lauderdale and Antigua. • Ads and editorial in prestigious magazines, including Boat International, Yachts International, The Superyacht Report, Superyacht Times, Forbes, Robb Report, Centurion Magazine, Departures; and in Russian publications such as Motor Boat and Yachting Russia, Yachting Russia, Sea Trial, Forbes Russia and Aeroflot Premium. • Exposure through high-end online platforms, including Superyachts.com, Boatinternational.com, Superyachts.com, Superyachtnews.com, Superyachttimes.com, RobbReport.com, Forbes.ru, RBC.ru and social media promotions, as well as through Imperial’s own website. • Imperial’s Charter Directory, delivered to a targeted readership, either directly on board a client’s vessel or via select, high-end outlets in Russia, London, Switzerland, Sardinia and the French Riviera. • A flexible approach, offering everything from full-scale, multi-platform exposure to discrete one-to-one negotiations. • Experienced charter and sales brokers, who can formulate bespoke campaigns, answer questions and conduct tours on your behalf. • Imperial’s cutting-edge website: not an inflexible template but a bespoke marketing solution with customisable research tools and high-value, v essel-specific content. • A first-class headquarters in the heart of Monaco, which ably reflects the calibre of Imperial’s work and its impeccable industry stature.

Sales marketing Imperial’s ingrained flexibility ensures that each client and each vessel is treated to a carefully tailored marketing campaign. For instance, if a yacht sale requires blanket discretion, publicity can be entirely avoided, with all marketing activities conducted on a private, one-to-one basis. But with its multi-platform resources, Imperial is also able to call upon an enviable range of high-profile assets – from a presence at the key international yacht shows to advertising and press articles in targeted magazines and direct communications via a global network of industry contacts and international clients. Charter marketing Imperial’s Charter Marketing Service is designed to achieve maximum charter income for yacht owners. In addition to extensive coverage in relevant print and online platforms, including Imperial’s own interactive website, the company’s Charter Directory is also distributed through some very powerful, high-yield channels. Again, however, Imperial’s approach remains flexible. If a client wants to pursue end-to-end bookings throughout the year, that can be done, but if he prefers to set aside specific periods for personal use, the charter schedule can be arranged to encompass his preferences. Your yacht: our priority As true experts of the superyacht industry with an extensive sales portfolio, numerous award-winning vessels and a varied global charter fleet, Imperial follows precise protocols to maximise visibility of your vessel and obtain the most productive leads possible. Whatever kind of approach your yacht demands, the modus operandi of Imperial’s marketing department is not the brushstroke guesswork of a bulk operator. It is the targeted, vessel-specific strategy of a team well versed in the nuances of the international superyacht market.
