11

Sectors In our many years of operations we have gained valuable experience and technical competence in a wide range of sectors: Commercial Education Government and Public Buildings Health and Social Care Leisure Manufacturing and Industrial Residential Retail Science and Technology Transport Utilities Waste and Energy

12

13

Commercial Imtech has extensive experience in the commercial sector. We understand the complexity of these environments, whether we are installing technical solutions within a new building, replacing existing mechanical and electrical systems or managing and maintaining these assets. Our experience means we are able to work closely with customers, from the cost planning and design stage through to installation and continuing asset management. We create effective solutions for mechanical and electrical installations, including reduction of plant space and creating maintenance schedules to ensure they are kept in optimum condition and ultimately provide a comfortable working environment. Often within this sector we operate in occupied buildings, such as Land Securities’ flagship commercial property, One New Change. This gives us an excellent understanding of the best way to minimise the impact of the work we undertake on the buildings’ occupants.

14

15

Education Imtech designs, builds and maintains sustainable mechanical and electrical solutions for the education sector. Our track record, which is worth more than ÂŁ100 million in the sector, encompasses all environments from primary schools to higher education establishments. We have been involved in refurbishment, new build and maintenance projects with schools and colleges across the UK, where we successfully carried out works in fully-operational buildings. With the construction of energy centres, we also provide full campus solutions, including student residences and sporting facilities. Working alongside main contractors and consultants, we took part in the refurbishment of the London School of Economics and the Imperial College and more recently in extensive works at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Suffolk One College.

16

17 18

Government and Public Buildings Working within tighter budgetary constraints, Imtech designs, builds and maintains major mechanical and electrical installations across essential public sector services, including defence, health, local governments and education to low carbon specifications. Our approach delivers best value, while making sure client and user demands are met. We ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget. The refurbishment and maintenance of schools, council-managed leisure facilities and military establishments are particularly reliant on us achieving these. We were a major part of the construction project at New Scotland Yard, a number of police stations across Greater London, as well as the BBC Broadcasting House. Equally, we are a trusted contractor for cultural institutions: we were part of the team undertaking the construction project at the Natural History Museum’s Darwin Centre and London Transport Museum, as well as the Shree Swaninarya temple in North London.

18

19 18

Health and Social Care Our work in the health and social care sector ranges from community care centres, through to highlyspecialised treatment facilities. Due to the nature of this sector we are often working in and around occupied buildings. Our approach, regardless of size or complexity of facilities, always ensures continuous patient care, therefore minimising the impact of any work on patients, staff and visitors alike. As part of the Essentia framework (wholly-owned by the Guy’s and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust), we work to deliver innovative solutions to help clients improve their efficiency and effectiveness. This framework provides a unique combination of NHS values and commercial focus on this sector. We are also registered as a primary supply chain member of the NHS Procure 21+ initiative. This framework is provided by the Department of Health for the procurement of new build and refurbishment of NHS facilities. Via this framework, we were appointed by the main contractor, to undertake the mechanical and electrical installation of a new extension and the refurbishment of the current technical services in the neo-natal Unit at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

20

21

Leisure We have extensive experience in delivering mechanical and electrical installations to some of the most prestigious leisure and sports facilities. These include significant contributions to state-of-the-art projects, such as the Wembley Arena, the Emirates Stadium, the Olympic Stadium, Aquatics Centre and Velodrome, Epsom Racecourse, Center Parcs, UCLAN Sports Arena, the InterContinental Hotel Park Lane, Grosvenor Hotel Apartments and many others. Within these projects, we have been involved from the design stage through to the delivery of the full mechanical, electrical and public health services installations. 26

27

Retail Imtech designs, installs, refurbishes and maintains energy-efficient, sustainable mechanical and electrical systems within various retail environments. We are conscious that all work undertaken, whether it be a warehouse, single store or a large mall, has to cause minimal disruption to trading and ultimately, enhance and improve the end-users experience. Utilising this expertise we were integral in creating Westfield’s flagship mall's in London’s White City and Stratford. We installed state-of-the-art mechanical air and smoke extract systems throughout the centre. In particular, the lighting specification within the CafÊ Court area was of a high standard, designed to create the ultimate dining experience for shoppers. Our capabilities enable us to offer a combination of services, from the design and build of new technical services to the installation of replacement equipment, taking into consideration existing services and systems. Its proposition spans the complete organisation and is led by a central specialist development team that draws upon delivery expertise from across the group. This approach capitalises on the strength in breadth and depth of our operations and provides a holistic ultra-low carbon technical asset management service. It is underpinned by the triple pillars of Imtech’s Low Carbon proposition:

1. Green buildings – reducing energy demand within buildings. 2. Decentralised energy – decarbonising the supply to buildings or industry. 3. Low carbon power – decarbonising the supply to the grid.

42

45

Specialist Capabilities Building Information Modelling (BIM) Prefabrication Building Services Management

46

47

Building Information Modelling (BIM) BIM has changed the way we deliver projects. It helps to generate and manage building data through the whole asset life cycle. It is not only a major benefit to the construction process, but also allows efficient asset management from utilities to infrastructure and real estate. Imtech has used BIM on a number of projects, in a variety of sectors. On commercial office projects such as 70 Mark Lane and residential projects such as De Vere Gardens, BIM has allowed the project teams to carefully control the building of the plant and its shell and core fittings. Improved visualisation allows us to minimise errors, increase delivery speed and reduce costs. As a contractor, BIM gives us the opportunity to optimise, organise and execute our work on a project. Our customers benefit from improved design of MEP services and snag-free installations.

48

49

Prefabrication Through prefabrication of mechanical and electrical modules, Imtech installs building services quicker, safer and more sustainably. Prefabrication can also be a more cost-effective solution. Assembly in a factory environment allows precommissioning and testing, provides a more productive and lower risk environment for employees, significantly reduces waste and increases delivery speed on-site, allowing us to fast-track projects if necessary. Depending on our clients’ needs, we can deliver building services modules to a complete plant room. Maximum benefit is gained from prefabrication when we are involved in the project early. Our design team starts the project with a design and technical review, in order to understand and incorporate solutions as to how far prefabrication will help achieve the goals of the project.

50
