The UK Rail Industry is changing towards a more collaborative market place. Our approach
Our approach in the rail sector is based on combining strengths and capabilities from across the Imtech organisation, focussed around a core team of Rail specialists. Through this approach, we can offer a unique combination of specialised IT and control systems such as condition monitoring and information management to report on safety and business critical operations, and mechanical and electrical services, ranging from climate control and BMS systems to LV and HV power distribution in stations and depots.
We have a long history of delivering projects in the built and infrastructure environments and in traffic management. Therefore we are one of the few companies who that can combine the development and enhancement of stations and depots, with information management systems and integration into existing signalling facilities.

Solutions we offer Station and Depot Building Services Imtech provides electrical and mechanical engineering services for any buildings both new build and refurbishment. Additionally we provide control systems, BMS installations and communication packages. Support services also provided include electrical inspection and testing, planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and small works. We can provide these services in any building, and have a track record of installations in stations and depots.
Level Crossings Imtech has developed its own level crossing solution for user worked crossings. Our solution takes proven technologies from other sectors as a basis for further development, reducing development and implementation costs. Imtech has designed and installed safety improvements to 350 level crossings in the Netherlands for ProRail and these solutions are now available to implement in the UK.
Condition Monitoring Imtech provides condition monitoring systems either as an integral part of supplied systems or as retrofit systems. Our monitoring systems are proven and go beyond condition monitoring into providing alarms, historical condition and status information, and predictive maintenance management information.
Information Systems Imtech has a wealth of experience of delivering passenger information systems at transportation hubs with feeds to and from regional control centres. Imtech want to bring detection, prediction, and management systems into existing operational management systems to communicate dynamic ‘real-time’ passenger information to traditional display systems, and mobile electronic devices.
Systems Integration Imtech provides independent system integration. Our solutions span the gap between traditional industrial controls and business IT systems. We combine information from asset management systems with information from our clients’ telemetry solutions. We can extract real-time data derived from distributed assets and operational systems and combine it with financial or asset data from business applications. We can provide these services in any technically challenging environment and have experience of integrating these systems with live Rail signalling equipment.

Imtech offers a total cost of ownership approach by covering the whole value chain, from preliminary design through to installation and maintenance, with a special focus on asset management. Imtech is a specialist in the Netherlands in the installation of telecoms, security and HV electrical systems, including new construction work, renovations and maintenance projects in both stations and track-side.
Ireland Imtech has carried out over â‚Ź11 million of station and track infrastructure services, ranging from basic services in stations, such as lighting and pipework, to specialised HV distribution and process control system installations.
Spain Imtech has been involved in several station and tunnelling projects, providing the building services and controls systems.
Germany In Germany, Imtech has a long standing relationship with Deutsche Bahn AG, and has been involved in many large scale station and depot developments and upgrades as a technology partner for installations such as HVAC, building automation and plant engineering.

Our businesses have over 100 years of valuable industry knowledge and experience between them, with each individual organisation adding its unique history and culture to the whole.
As one of the largest broad-based technical services providers, we meet our clients’ needs, from consultancy and design of mechanical and electrical systems through to the installation and whole-life maintenance and management of these assets.
