Winning The Race For Space THERE’S no doubt that space in any metropolitan area definitely comes at a premium price. And with the high prices in real estate at the moment home owners need to consider their options when looking for the ideal space solution. Fortunately, there is a fantastic, cost effective way to create a new storage area for your customers without breaking their bank – unlock their roof space! “About 30% of space in the average home is in the roof space and most of the time it’s completely wasted. The access to most roof spaces can be made easy with the installation of one of Attic Group’s attic ladders. Attic Group provides a wide range of roof access ladders to suit all budgets and applications from residential to commercial. “An attic ladder opens up your roof space to a whole range of storage options and could be one of the best solutions to help your customer declutter their home PLUS add extra value to their property. The site – www.alucobond.com.au – provides technical information, colour options, an improved project gallery and also includes a news and events section. THE installation of roller shutters on all glass apertures is a proven method of insulating and securing buildings as well as resisting internal fire destruction. Blockout have installed shutters in Australia’s harshest bush fire prone areas and will safeguard these properties in three effective ways. Firstly, the shutters will prevent scorching heat entering buildings. Secondly, they will prevent glass shattering from the extreme heat and thirdly, they will stop soft furnishings or other flammable items igniting. Blockout Roller Shutters can be installed on roofs, curved glass areas and irregularly shaped glass windows and doors. Blockout – the shutter company architects specify.

Innovation In Space Control... For Everybody
TRADITIONALLY it's been the surveyor or construction engineer who's had a hold on scanning and mapping space. Not anymore. Now, anyone can do it easily, with the new Leica 3D Disto. This ground-breaking innovation from Leica Geosystems enables the precise control of space for anyone involved in fitout, interior design, climate control, roofing, you name it. Forget hand drawings, scribbled notes, tape measures and spirit levels. The 3D Disto maps a room at the point-distances you select. It maps the space, including odd angles and uneven shapes, windows, doorways, arches, staircases and so on. The space can then be re-created through CAD, manipulated and re-drawn. Uploaded designs can be projected onto any surface of the site for the build. It allows one person to efficiently complete jobs that would normally require an assistant. It’s easy to operate and can shave many hours off every job. Accuracy is assured, so there are no costly miscalculations or re-dos. Measure the job with precision of 1mm at 10m, map it, record it, and project it – all from the one position. The integrated camera graphically captures each point. Get control of inner space with 3D Disto from Leica Geosystems – Measure projects and capture points in 3D. – Scans profiles of curved surfaces – Triangulate through 3-5 target points to fix the location – Move to new location and continue drawing uninterrupted – Point by point projection of your design or grid on any flat surface – Ready to use file formats (dxf, csv, txt) for post processing on PC – Wireless control for ease of use – Integrated image capture capability for quick reference – Secure relocation function increases range and versatility

Roof Anchor Points And Access Systems By Safemaster
WHEN it comes to fall protection and access systems then SAFEMASTER HEIGHT SAFETY SOLUTIONS has just that – the solutions. As an Australian market leader for over 10 years SAFEMASTER has built its reputation on its stringently engineered products and competent knowledge of the height safety industry. SAFEMASTER has a large range of engineered products, including modular ladder and pull down attic ladder systems, roof walkway and handrail systems, rigid rail, staticline and anchor point systems, and has just complemented its range by the release of the new, innovative Connect360, Customfix and Tilefix anchor points. The Connect360 roof anchor point incorporates a unique energy absorbing swivel anchor system. This allows the user to work in a complete 360° around the anchor point with ease as the swivel anchor follows the user as he moves. Connect360 is designed to fix onto the top rib of most roof profiles using specialised structural rivets. This eliminates the need to penetrate the pan of the roof sheet, therefore greatly reducing the risk of leaks through penetrations. The low profiled Customfix anchor point utilises the innovative technological design of SAFEMASTER’s Vertic energy absorber. The Customfix anchor point is designed to be used specifically on corrugated roof
sheeting as this sheeting is commonly used on pitches over 20° and therefore is visible from the ground. It makes sense that the aesthetically pleasing Customfix anchor point is used on these roofs to reduce the visual impact normally associated with surface mounted anchor points. The Tilefix anchor provided by SAFEMASTER also incorporates the unique design of their Vertic energy absorber. The Tilefix anchor point is designed to be used on all tile profiles, whether it is clay, cement or slate and is installed with no penetration to the tile, therefore eliminating the risk of leaks which are present with anchors which penetrate the tile. The Tilefix anchor point is fixed to the timber rafter or the top chord of the timber truss using readily available Type 17 screws. There are 5 rows of holes running lengthways on the fixing plate which provides flexibility in fixing by allowing the Tilefix anchor point to be located in the best position over the tile. All these three new cutting edge products are rated at 22kN and are manufactured from high grade stainless steel, electropolished after manufacture to remove any impurities left from the manufacturing process which could contaminate the stainless steel.

A really good product sells itself: A dry sample is posted to the manager of a large factory. Some days later A&I Coatings is informed that ENVIROTHANE has been selected for installation. Why? “Because it was harder than all the others,” he explains. ENVIROCHOICE coatings are being specified for carparks, warehouses, factories and other industrial applications where durability, hygiene, anti-slip, and chemical tolerance are required. Roof Anchors – It’s All About Staying On Top SECURE Anchor Systems has one priority in manufacturing and developing roof anchors – to assist building designers and workers implement height safety with a minimum of fuss and as easily as possible. Low profiles, clean lines and the ability to supply anchors powdercoated to Colorbond® colours allows for seamless integration with today’s modern roof lines. Secure Anchor Systems anchors are now being more widely accepted on domestic as well as commercial projects by architects and designers. The Corrugator® and Corrugator360® roof anchors are two such patented products being widely adopted and used throughout Australia, New Zealand and now North America. The anchors are surface mounted, preventing the need to access the roof cavity and making penetrations through the sisalation, insulation or roof members. Fixing through roof members such as top chords on trusses can also void warranties from truss manufacturers. Secure Anchor Systems also supplies a number of Ladder Access Points with the same surface-mounted principle for easy application. All Secure Anchor Systems anchors comply with and meet the 15 kN benchmark set out in AS1891.4 for fall arrest and can be installed in as little as 90 seconds with a standard cordless drill. Other anchors are manufactured to suit metal roof profiles, such as Trimdek® and Spandek® and Secure Anchor Systems can provide custom servicing for clients with specific height safety needs.

Discover A New World Of Energy Efficient Sun Shading
RENOVATORS, specifiers and home-owners are discovering ways to tastefully, intelligently and unobtrusively shade buildings and keep cooling and heating costs down. Issey’s external retractable awnings and blinds are a flexible way to help control the amount of heat and light allowed into a structure without compromising the view. In Australia, heating and cooling of the house uses almost 50% of household energy requirements. Issey's range of bespoke external shades and awnings decrease heating costs and by extending the awnings in summer it keeps the building cooler so air-conditioners can be used minimally, reducing energy consumption by a significant amount therefore improving the building’s environmental rating. With modern technology, Issey retractable sun shades systems have the flexibility to be used on demand. Whether it’s via wireless remote for effortless control or by means of integrating it with a BMS system and installing intelligent sensors, Issey sun
shades can be programmed to automatically retract and project and adapt to prevailing weather conditions. This shading on demand also creates temporary outdoor spaces to extend entertainment areas without the need, hassle or cost of permanent structures. Issey's blinds and awnings are elegant yet robust, stylish yet functional. Today, Issey's bespoke sunshade systems are favoured by discerning home owners, interior designers and architects alike. At Issey we are constantly investing in research that enables us to push the boundaries and redefine our product range.
