Queensland Cricket unveils inaugural Multination Challenger’s Trophy Brisbane, 22 October: On 21 October Queensland Cricket launched a groundbreaking inaugural Multination Challenger’s T20 Trophy League at 7th Brigade Park in North Brisbane, featuring four competitive community teams– India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. QC’s Queensland Cricket Multicultural Lead, Ashutosh Misra observes, “Whilst the start of this competition marks a big milestone in our wider multicultural strategy, we are still looking at opportunities to amplify what the competition
can become, such as the grand final linking in with a marquee Queensland Cricket event. “These communities won’t have otherwise got the opportunity to play with each other, which explains why they are so deeply excited for playing in this unique League. Cricket builds bonds and Project Multicultural at QC is an apt example of it.” Christine
IAIE celebrates its 5th anniversary Brisbane, 19 October: The Institute for Australia India Engagement celebrated its 5th foundation anniversary at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane. IAIE, a not-for-profit institution which was established with the support of the Government of India in September 2018, has played a key role in enriching the

is so exciting to see this happen right here in Queensland and in Australia." John Butterworth, Community Cricket Manager at QC covered the event and remarked, “This exciting league is a groundbreaking endeavour which will enrich the mosaic of cricket in Australia and Queensland”.
Jason Saunders; Bravos Executive Director Samir Vora, AIBCQueensland CEO Dr Nik Senapati; Ashawani Soni, Varun Gupta, Abhishek Sharma, Sachin Rabade, Raman Sharma, Yashpal, Sameer Deshpande, Bronwyn Bartsch and many community and industry leaders were present. IAIE Board member Dr Shaun Star was the master ceremony, and after Dr Amol Wagholikar shared his thoughts, Mr Muthuraj Guruswamy, Board member delivered the vote of thanks. IAIE Advisory board members Prof C Rajkumar, Mr Dale Sheehan, Dr Uttam Sinha, Dr Rajiv Nayan, Prof Srinath Kondapalli, Prof Priyankar Upadhyaya and Godwill Ambassador Mr Matthew Hayden had sent congratulatory video messageson the occasion.
