Preface In the summer of 2015 the Dutch city Utrecht was hosting the start of the Tour the France. During five days the whole world could see this small country at her best. Changing the whole of the Netherlands in a temporary sports venue. The positive reactions on the 6th Grand Départ in the Netherlands haven’t surprised me: The Netherlands has an excellent reputation in sports and organizing famous sport events. Dutch companies developed new technologies for stadiums and many other sports facilities in countries like Germany, the UK, Brasil and South Africa. Why working together with Dutch companies is recommended all over the world? Well, we are known for being flexible, pragmatic and solution-oriented. That makes the Dutch such a good and reliable partner. In this Sports & Infrastructure Guide you can read different examples of successful projects with all kind of international partners.

Innovative & sustainable solutions It’s the wish of Dutch Sports Infrastructure to partner with organizing countries as a consultant around sports and events and supporting the upcoming projects’ planning, designing, supplying and infrastructural development in this increasingly important sector. FME shares this wish and wants to see all stadiums carrying the label ‘Powered by Dutch Technology’. Because such a label is a label to be proud of. Mrs. Ineke Dezentjé Hamming-Bluemink President FME Association for the technological industry in the Netherlands

Sharing knowledge As Dutch industry it’s our dream to share our gained knowledge to transform future sports events like Olympic Games and European and World Soccer Championships into exceptional events for everyone. So more and more we are clustering companies and working together as Dutch Sports Infrastructure to create a platform for international exchange of innovations and make this dream come true. Through sharing and clustering our knowledge we are able to offer solutions and connect international contacts with Dutch companies. This enables us to develop innovative projects like sustainable and multipurpose Aquatic Centers and develop showcases of small innovative sport facilities in emerging countries.

Preface Sports can bring people together. It is fun. It is healthy. And it teaches children what it is like to win, or to loose. It teaches them how to reach their goals, as a team and as an individual. Everybody should be able to participate in sports.

Furthermore the focus lies on technology and ways of making these events not just sport events, but more than that, an overall customer experience. We would like to share our knowledge and experience with the world.

The Netherlands has the ambition to belong to the top 10 of best sports nations in the world. That is why we invest in sports. Not only in people and talent. But also in the best training facilities and organising events at the highest levels: world cups, European championships. We want our sportsmen and women to get all the opportunities to reach their golden dreams. And what would be better than winning these medals in your own country with your own people cheering you on?

It is therefore a great honor and pleasure to present this edition of the Dutch Sports Infrastructure Guide. Edith Schippers Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport

And it is the achievements of the best that inspires others to take up sports as well. Everyone according to his or her own talent, and interest. And hopefully adopting a healthier life style, with physical activity as a recurring event in their working or school week. The positive spin-off of successful events manifest itself for example through the creation of employment, the construction of new facilities and improvement of local infrastructure, and an increased local cohesion, pride and community spirit. Dutch technologies have a proven track record, and - the Netherlands has an excellent reputation in sport. The focus of the Dutch experts lies mainly on innovative ways of making sure that organizing major sport events and their venues have a lasting positive impact on society and won’t remain idle for most of the time when the event is over.

DSI Aquatic Centers The Royal Dutch Swimming Federation, Dutch Architects and leading industrial suppliers are collaborating under the name DSI Aquatic Centers to develop world-class aquatic centers for recreational and professional use. More than half of the Netherlands is below sea level. As a result, water safety is and has always been an important driver in Dutch culture. This has led to the creation of a world-famous water management sector and has helped to underscore the importance of developing swimming education. The industry has acquired in-depth expertise in design, water management, energy efficiency and innovative products to enhance recreational and professional swimming facilities.

Inspired by years of aquatic experience, new technological developments and the drive to offer innovative solutions, Dutch Sports Infrastructure (DSI) appointed a group of experts who can make their expertise available to international partners in aquatic centers. DSI Aquatic Centers is initiated by DSI (FME), Bosch Rexroth, Eva Optic, Grassvalley, Hermeta, KNZB, Lotec, Machinevision, Tata Steel, Variopool, VenhoevenCS, Watervision.

The Netherlands is known for its remarkable performance in Olympic swimming and water polo competitions. Professional Dutch athletes use the latest technologies and training facilities. These technological advancements can also be used by live audiences and viewers at home, who are watching the events on their electronic devices. Given that sports can connect people and promote an active, social and healthy society, swimming is of great value. Metropoles and dense urban environments demand energy-efficient and cost-effective facilities. In the past, mono-functional swimming pools have transformed into multipurpose aquatic centers that bring communities together and offer inclusiveness, sports and entertainment to local residents. Thanks to smart designs and innovative technological solutions, aquatic centers are both profitable and well-integrated into the community, which results in state-of-the-art recreational sports centers.

Column Colourfield - bringing sports to the children in the neighbourhood Colourfield, a plan to bring sports to the cities. Colourfield is a fully-installed mini sports arena that combines a social sports education program with excellent sports facilities, a lighting centre and clean drinking water. Installing a Colourfield in an urban or semi–urban area helps to provide safe and secure sports facilities for children in the neighbourhood, making the cities more liveable for the whole community. The Colourfield concept also includes the WorldCoaches program of the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB); a program that educates local coaches in football coaching techniques and social life skills. The innovative green technologies of the Colourfield provide solar powered electricity for lighting and up to 3,000 litres of clean drinking water per hour! Proven concepts of the structure and pitch ensure a safesports environment of the highest standard. Partners involved will advise on overall management that includes a cost recovery and maintenance and management concept.

Main goals

• Sports. Providing the community with a high standard sports pitch so they can come together and play • Water. Catchment, use and reuse of rain- and well water. Making it possible to provide the community with safe and clean drinking water • Environment. Provide an innovative, sustainable sports- and recreation facility with most of its elements made out of recycled materials. • Education. Coaching in football and life skills • Health. Sports, education and clean drinking water both contribute to mental and physical health • Community Development. A sports- and recreation facility which contributes to the wellbeing of the community in terms of education, health and sports

basic life skills. Women inclusion is one of the topics on the agenda of the WorldCoaches program. The program started in 2009 and has already educated 8,200 coaches worldwide.

Safe and high quality

The Philips solar lighting will provide a safe area in the evening and night. The fencing is provided by Indian partners of the Dutch market leader in security solutions Heras, providing a safe area and solid fences. The pitches, drainage and sub base are provided by TenCate Grass, world market leader in artificial turf and a preferred partner of FIFA, and Drain Products.

A sustainable business model

In order to keep the Colourfield concept alive, a cost recovery plan will be developed to generate income for maintenance and security. Taking the Amsterdam ArenA concept as a model, the Colourfield concept may generate income during evening hours whilst daytime is kept reserved for the social programs. Amsterdam ArenA (home stadium of Ajax Amsterdam) is one of the few stadiums in the world that makes a profit.

Customized design

Terrain, rainfall, and local conditions can be very different from one place to the other. Different kinds of solutions and technologies can be applied, taking the local needs as a starting point. Design and specifications are formulated by ZJA Architects, the leading stadium architect in the Netherlands.

Optional systems

The network of Dutch Sports Infrastructure gives access to over 100 companies in the Netherlands that provide solutions for sports infrastructure, including stadium seats, security technologies and construction solutions. Additional systems can be added on demand.

WorldCoaches a social coaching program for children in the community The Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) has developed a program to share the knowledge in Dutch coaching programs and the education of children. Together with local NGO’s, people from the neighbourhood will be trained to coach children in sports and other

KNVB The Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB), has always been innovative in its approach to run football and can be called a pioneer in football. KNVB is famous in the world for coaching and has an impressive youth development program that nurtured numerous talents over the past 40 years, from Johan Cruyff, via Marco van Basten and Dennis Bergkamp to more recently Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder and Robin van Persie. Since 1994 the KNVB uses its expertise to help improve football coaching in foreign countries. In 2007 this resulted in an international CSR policy, called WorldCoaches, with the aim to build capacity in underpriviliged areas in the world. Educating football coaches and role models, guiding youth on and off the field and using football as a tool for social development. With programs such as Football for Water and Colourfields, unique programs and alliances between Dutch NGO’s and companies, the KNVB uses the power of football to teach boys and girls in developing countries about healthy life style and personal hygiene. By combining this with installing mini-fields or water points and toilet facilities in communities and in schools, kids become healthier and do better in school through football. In partnership with numerous organisations the KNVB continues to educate WorldCoaches, supports the development of football facilities and uses its ambassadors to bring across social messages to improve the life of children in deprived areas. Since 2009, at the Launch of WorldCoaches, the number of local WorldCoaches is close to 9.000, which are spread over 26 countries and of which almost 25% are women.

Dutch Embassies are partner in many of the international programs and activities of Dutch Sports Infrastructure, supporting the collective activities but also servicing Dutch businesses individually.

Building bridges together

Hungary Hungary has regularly punched above its weight in the medal race of the Olympic Games. Its sport infrastructure, though, still lacks modern and sufficient facilities. Hungary will now make one huge step forward! On July 13th 2015, Hungarian Parliament decided to support the candidacy of Budapest for organising the Olympic Games of 2024. This initiative allows the city to present an Olympic project that best matches its long-term sports, economic, social and environmental plans. Hungarian government will significantly provide financial support to the Hungarian bid in the years to come. In this way, Hungary will gradually build up a sport infrastructure which the country needs and at the same time provides excellent Olympic facilities, exactly as required by the Olymic Agenda 2020 recommendations. At the same time, it is the Hungarian objective to offer international sport facilities whenever there is a need. The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Hungary is very keen to match Hungarian ambition with cutting edge Dutch know how and high tech, providing added value to the Hungarian dream. The Hungarian preparations are already under way. Before the end of 2015 project plans have to be presented for the Olympic facilities, an International Swiming Centre in Budapest, four football stadions - Puskas Stadion Budapest, Diósgyör, Székesfehérvár and Szombathely a Velodrome and a Congres Centrum in Budapest for 4.000 guests. In the next years more sport projects will come to light. Now is the time to make the Dutch show case, underline the unique Dutch selling points, convince the decision makers of Dutch innovativeness and sustainable approach: come to Budapest and get on board!

India Unlimited potential India is quickly becoming a multi-sport nation. While cricket is still the most popular sport, the recently launched sports leagues, such as India Super League Football and Hockey India League are clear evidence of an increased interest from the population to consume and participate in all kinds of sports. Having a sustainable sports ecosystem in place that makes sports participation possible for everyone is crucial not only for health reasons, but it is also the best way to support the success of new sports leagues and excellent performance at the elite sports level. The Netherlands is known globally for its excellent integrated sports ecosystem, which has allowed it to participate at the highest levels in sports for decades. The Dutch industry excels in providing innovative, self-sustaining, multi-purpose solutions to physical sports infrastructure around the world, and it is eager to do the same in India. The Netherlands representation in India is there to facilitate in connecting Dutch technology and know-how to Indian ambitions. We are present in Delhi (Embassy), Mumbai (Consulate General), Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Chennai (Netherlands Business Support Offices, NBSO’s). Tokyo2020: Smart solutions wanted for the most innovative Olympic Games ever! Although there are still five years to go until the opening ceremony of the Tokyo2020 Olympic and Paralymic Games, Japan is already preparing itself as the host of this mega-event. As we all know, major global sports events act as a stimulus for urban, economic, environmental and social developments, and maybe “the Olympics” are a catalyst as no other event. Hence the reason why the Dutch diplomatic representations in Tokyo and Osaka have been “on the ball” and built up an extensive G2G and G2B network in connection to Tokyo2020 Games. The latest result of these efforts is the publication of a comprehensive Opportunity Report “Tokyo2020” (kansenrapport) for interested Dutch companies. The report not only gives a good insight and overview of the most important Japanese and international stakeholders, but also identifies several (sub)sectors in which Dutch expertise could be welcomed by (future) Japanese business partners, especially for innovative companies and smart products and services. If you are interested in the report, please send an email to TOK-EA@ minbuza.nl. DSI-related sectors covered in the report include: • Smart urban- and coastal design • Security-IT, incl. cyber security systems, and smart materials • Indoor sports materials and floors • Public Transport solutions, linked to cycling and renewable energy (hydrogen) The economic network in Japan is at your service to support you with relevant advise regarding the Japanese market (in general and on specific sectors) and to help you to connect with relevant Japanese partners. The Netherlands and Japan share more than 400 years of succesful bilateral trade ties; the Tokyo2020 Games is a great opportunity to continue that tradition! Looking forward to winners on both sides Do a warming up, sprint, and kick a soccer ball to us: Morocco is the place to be at this moment! Not only for people who want to play some soccer with our Moroccan friends, but also for investors. A lot of interesting things are happening here. The last few years are characterized by huge investments to modernize Morocco’s sports infrastructure. New stadiums have arisen – and the biggest one in Casablanca is yet to come. Furthermore, each region establishes a ‘Cité des Sports’, an innovative sports complex. As you can imagine, all those developments create a lot of opportunities for Dutch expertise and businesses as well. The World Coaches Programme has been active in Morocco since 2012, with Dutch football stars like Aaron Winter, Pierre van Hooijdonk and Tarik Oulida. And did you know that ‘our’ Ruud Krol is coach in Casablanca at this moment, since July 2015? We are proud that all these Dutch talents are present here. Of course we hope that we may bring even more people together who have a passion for sports. If you are interested to join us in this fascinating ongoing game that is played in Morocco, the Dutch Embassy in Rabat is more than happy to help you in this process. We have an extensive network that we can use while trying to score more business goals. Together we could bring The Netherlands higher in the international rankings.

Building bridges together

Qatar

Russia In summer 2018 the Russian Federation will host the FIFA World Cup and in 2019 the Winter Universiades in Krasnoyarsk. These kind of sport events are well-known all over the world for several reasons. One of the reasons is that they have, next to all the sportive events with an enormous media attention, a social and economic impact. I will give you a few examples: In the Netherlands as well as in the Russian Federation it is important to promote the participation of people and especially younger people in sports. Because as we all know, sport enhances our health and in that way also the vitality of our societies. Nevertheless, I believe that a healthy lifestyle cannot be primarily enforced by ministers or governments. It also has to come from people themselves. Therefore, organizing top sport events can help creating the desired climate in which people are stimulated to adopt a healthy lifestyle because elite sportsmen can act as role models. Another example is the contribution of companies to the sports sector and sport events in general to develop tangible legacy for hosting countries. In the Netherlands, Dutch Sports Infrastructure (DSI) clusters Dutch companies, working together with the government and sports organizations. The aim of DSI is to create a platform for international exchange of innovations and ideas around sport events and to cooperate with international partners to come to a wide range of innovative and sustainable solutions to achieve mutual goals on human capital, sustainability and legacy. This guide gives you an interesting overview of Dutch expertise in sports infrastructure focusing on high quality.

Ron van Dartel Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Russian Federation

At record speed, Qatar has entered the international league of sports events organizers. Undeniably, the FIFA World Cup hosting in 2022 has drawn the eyes of many to Qatar and it will continue to do so for the coming years. But beyond football, Qatar is delivering an impressive series of international sports events. Athletes from the world of cycling, boxing, tennis, aquatics, handball, beach volleyball, athletic gymnastics, para-dressage and showjumping flock to Qatar to enjoy world class facilities for their trainings and international competition. By its commitment to developing sports medicine and anti-doping, but also by introducing a national sports day and community sports Qatar shows a consistent effort to put sports firmly on the national and international agenda. And that is where the Netherlands and Qatar meet: serving athletes and amateurs alike by embracing the ‘Sports for All’ approach. The vast network of experienced Dutch companies and institutions boasting an outstanding reputation in event and crowd management, security, construction and engineering are your perfect partners in sports development. They distinguish themselves by a tradition of reliability, innovation and respect for natural and human resources. Making sports events a celebration for all and by all.

Sharing expertise and experience The Amsterdam ArenA has been responsible for over 16 years for successful exploitation of the home base of AFC Ajax. The company owns and operates the Amsterdam ArenA, a 52.000 capacity stadium with a retractable roof. Shareholders are the City of Amsterdam (48%), Ajax Football Club (13%) and other private shareholders (39%). The stadium is part of a very successful area development with offices, retail, a shopping boulevard and other entertainment venues. The company also provides specialised worldwide services in the areas of stadium development and venue management through its daughter companies Amsterdam ArenA Advisory and ArenA do Brasil ltda. Projects have been executed in over 20 countries since the first multifunctional stadium of Europa started to share its knowledge in other stadium development projects. Amsterdam ArenA CEO Henk Markerink: ‘When we started with the initiation phase of the Amsterdam ArenA there was nobody to ask for strategic or operational support. It is a pleasure for me to now share our expertise and experience in other stadium projects in order to help them to realise sustainable projects from a social, financial and environmental point of view. And at the same time to let them learn from our mistakes and learning’s over the years.’ The recent accomplishment of the Amsterdam ArenA being voted as having the best pitch in the Netherlands is an example that underlines the words of Markerink. As part of the UEFA Euro 2012, Amsterdam ArenA Advisory performed design & operational services for half of the venues which were used during the tournament. A long term contract was secured for the design phase and start-up of the operation of the Donbass Arena

in Ukraine. In the same country the stadiums in Lviv and Kiev were also intensively supported in the lead-up to and during the opening period. Over a period of two years the PGA Arena in Gdansk involved Amsterdam ArenA Advisory in the design process. Various changes were made to the design which increased the financial viability of the project. For instance by including a commercial area into the design. Since 2005 the company has been active in Brazil. Together with local partners OAS and Odebrecht ArenA do Brasil has won the tenders in Salvador and Natal comprising the design, construction and operation of the new Fonte Nova stadium and the Arena das Dunas, for a total period of 35 and 20 years. ArenA do Brasil will be responsible for the operation of these World Cup venues. Since June 2012 the company is intensively supporting the operational organisation of the new stadium of Grêmio in Porto Alegre. Looking ahead to other FIFA World Cups, various smaller assignments have been already executed for Russian clients, such as Spartak Moscow and FC Zenit St. Petersburg. And the company is also having strong ambitions to soon become involved in the exciting developments that currently take place in Qatar. By building on a proven strategic approach and combining this with the local culture and people, Amsterdam ArenA Advisory seems to be at ease in every part of the world. Best practices In the heart of the stadium, stands the future In 2011 Ballast Nedam developed the Plug and Play Core® for stadiums. A concept based on the philosophy to erect a stadium as easily and quickly as possible, with only a limited number of elements required. The modular design uses a limited number of standard components and an industrial building method. This unique quality makes the Plug and Play Core® fully demountable and suitable for reuse. One of the triggers to develop the Plug and Play Core® is the FIFA World Cup™ in 2022 hosted by Qatar. The matches will be played in 12 stadiums, 9 of which will be developed from the ground up. After hosting the World Cup, modular parts from the stadiums will be used to construct 22 stadiums around the world in developing countries. Qatar’s vision holds an ambitious promise, creating a long lasting legacy and a unique challenge at the same time. It has motivated Ballast Nedam to start offering ideas and solutions to deliver on that very promise. For the new stadiums to be build in Qatar we developed the Plug and Play Core® that can be re-used after the tournament. For other smaller stadiums, but also for other functions.

The Plug and Play Core®

The Plug and Play Core® is a modular, demountable inside of a stadium. The Plug and Play Core® comprise the stands with its seating areas. International architects and turnkey contractors are the recipients of these insides. Various insides can be build with the Plug and Play Core®, leaving the opportunity to have different exteriors and not ending up with a confection stadium. Centralizing manufacturing of the elements used in the Plug and Play Core® creates economies of scale and efficiency benefits. After use, the elements may be used

to make smaller stadiums. The stadium elements can also be used for other purposes.

Easy to assemble and disassemble

The principle of assembling the Plug and Play Core® originated from precast stepping elements that are mutually connected and supported by a light-frame steel structure. Based on an innovative clicking system, the elements are easy to assemble, reducing the number of actions required. Hence, the idea of a Plug and Play Core® is born. One of the key advantages of the Plug and Play Core® is its unique design of the stepping elements. Research has shown that the number of different elements can be reduced substantially, without affecting the ability to erect stadiums and stands in a variety of shapes and sizes. This unique quality makes the concept suitable for reuse.

Manufacturing standard elements

The modular sections will be transported from one central manufacturing location to the various stadium building sites. In a precast environment a high level of quality and accuracy of dimensions is ensured. The elements are engineered to be container sized. They can be transported by truck or 40’ flatbed trailer, but also other means of transport are taken into account depending on local circumstances. We leave the architects and our clients completely free in their quest for aesthetics - for the look and feel of the new stadiums. Ideally, there will be a standalone structure that supports concepts of the architects. Our focus will remain on the precast stepping elements in the core of the stadium. Best practices Al Ain’s stadium and mixed-use development Following the successful completion of the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi (voted ‘Stadium of the Year 2014’ by StadiumDB.com and shortlisted for the ‘World Building of the Year 2015’ by Construction Week online), BAM International is now making good progress with the second phase of the mixed-use development area surrounding the stadium. The stadium was built to meet FIFA standards and offers many striking architectural and technological features. The external façade, for instance, which consists of fabric elements that create the impression of the trunk of a palm tree. Lighting of the elements is provided by LED lights in 15 different content modes. And also the palm bowl shaped roof, which provides pleasant conditions for both players and fans, even on hot days during the summer months. The design of the roof makes it possible for matches to be played in the shadow after 5pm. Much of what makes this stadium unique is in its roof: the complex geometry of the hanging steel trusses, which required prefabrication away from the construction site and complex logistics as well as robotic cutting and welding technology. Strict safety measures on site included the sole deployment of IRATA rope access specialists to install the aluminium cladding on the tip of the roof. The area anchored by Al Ain’s Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium is now under development towards being a fully integrated mixed-use community. The area will be brimming with activity throughout the year, not just on days when the stadium is the scene of a football match or cultural event. The mixed-use development in Al Ain will comprise housing (550 apartments in six five-storey buildings), a commercial building,

a multi-storey car park, a food and beverage souk and a 172-bed hotel with its own car park (to be managed by the Aloft hotel chain). The scope of the project for BAM International also comprises associated infrastructure such as roads, underground services and the high-quality public area. In total, the phase two works represent approximately 200,000 square metres of built-up area, all of which are aimed to achieve an Estidama 2 Pearl rating. BAM is taking decades of European stadium expertise to the worldwide market. Recent sports and multi-purpose stadiums include several of the venues for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, such as Soccer City in Johannesburg. Further highlights on BAM’s track record include Amsterdam Arena, home to Ajax. As our clients are increasingly looking to markets outside of Europe to realise their ambitions, BAM delivers the full range of services, from design studies to actual construction and commissioning. With a proven track record for delivering as promised, BAM brings manpower and a self-owned fleet of equipment, all backed up by decades of international experience and a strong financial background. ArenaExperience sports lighting At Philips, we understand the importance of lighting for sporting activities and large public space venues, at all levels – from local community sports to the world’s biggest sporting events – as well as lighting up stages for intimate performances, grand concerts and conference centers. High quality lighting is a vital factor for sports, drama and entertainment. Broadcast compatible lighting, supplying images with high color fidelity and complying with High Definition Television (HDTV) standards also allows viewers at home to experience the emotion, excitement and atmosphere of sport, and is essential for advertising, supporting the promotion of brand identity. Key factors determining the suitability of lighting installations for sports applications are quality aspects such as color rendering, consistency of color temperature, light control and uniformity as well as high lumen yield. Philips has long pioneered lighting innovation in sports, from the 1952 international games in Oslo to the first Formula One night race in Singapore on 28 September 2008, and has been the technical partner of international sports federations such as the IAAF, FIFA and FIBA over many years.

Our major references include: • International Games: Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012 • 2006 soccer tournament: 8 out of 12 stadiums in Germany illuminated by Philips • 2010 soccer tournament: 6 stadiums illuminated by Philips • 2014 more than 50% of stadiums illuminated by Philips in Sotchi for the winter games • 2014 soccer tournament: 9 out of 12 stadiums in Brazil illuminated by Philips • Philips Lighting currently illuminates 70% of all UK Premier League clubs • 55% of the world’s major football stadiums are illuminated by Philips. Integral Area Development The development of large-scale sports accommodations, like sports stadiums, must be approached as an optimized and integrated element of its surroundings, with maximum sustainability. Geographically speaking we can define different layers, from the sports complex itself, the adjacent supporting facilities (shops, restaurants etc.) to the connection with the urban, regional and even rural surroundings. The large number of visitors places high demands on different types of transportation. With many stakeholders involved in the integral development plan, communication needs to be finetuned for all involved in order to accomplish sustainable, social and commercial added value. This is an important success factor. Royal HaskoningDHV has a lot of experience with integral development of large-scale accommodations and spacious areas, requiring a joint effort of consultancy services in many areas of expertise, from the initial phase up and till realization and exploitation. Our company culture is open and is aimed at a tight collaboration with stakeholders and business partners.

Multi-disciplinary consultancy services

For the development of multi-functional centers, like stadiums for sports & events, we are dealing with a major complexity with regards to functionality, finance, risks, people involved, technique etc. When the complexity of a project increases, higher demands are set for the expertise that is practiced.

Besides the diversity in necessary expertise, every expertise must be on a high level. The expertise input should accommodate the different stages of the plan development. Royal HaskoningDHV has all core expertise concerning real estate and area development for multi-functional centers. All expertise has the necessary level and extent, so that Royal HaskoningDHV can handle all sorts of issues in a high quality and flexible way. An important success factor with regards to complex projects is, that all necessary expertise collaborates in a tight synergistic way (content and process). Royal HaskoningDHV operates with fixed and attuned multidisciplinary project teams. This way unnecessary risks are prevented and efficiency like quality, time and money is achieved. A multi-disciplinary expertise input from a tight organizational collaboration offers the best guarantees for a realistic total solution. Innovations often arise at the intersection of more than one world. They are the result of the use of evidence based experiences that were gained from other client groups and applications. Royal HaskoningDHV works worldwide for many clients and has its internal knowledge exchange and knowledge expansion secured. Royal HaskoningDHV encourages open innovation on the basis of partnering. We work with partners on specific areas of expertise to establish a maximum of added value for our clients. With regards to the development of multi-functional centers, our added value lies for example in the area of client specific application knowledge. For the development of centers for sports & leisure it concerns a wide range of application knowledge. Find our company profile on page 64.

ZJA’s vision With our architecture we aim to provide a sustainable contribution to the quality of life on our planet. Our inspiration is based on the beauty of nature. Progress in technical engineering is a pre-condition to find solutions to today’s challenges, shortage of space, diminishing energy resources and the quest for sustainable alternatives. Designing large-scale projects demands a flexible organisation and a fast and precise method of operation. The multinational design team of ZJA consists of experienced architects and can easily be adapted to the demands and complexity of a project. ZJA has at its disposal state-of-the-art technical expertise thanks to her independent research & development department. State-of-theart computerisation and other techniques such as parametric design, file-to-factory applications and the most recent 3D-tools are used for generating designs, which are timeless, sustainable and enduring. ZJA boasts an inspiring, multinational and international network of complementary expertise, ranging from structural engineers, urban designers and acoustic engineers to interior architects, sustainability experts and software developers.

Sport & leisure

We have designed a wide variety of sport related buildings and research projects, with projects including the architectural design of (FIFA compliant) Football Stadiums, (Indoor & Multifunctional) Sports Facilities, Elite Sports Centers, Centre Courts, Training Centers, Indoor Golf Arena’s, Olympic Main Frames, Swimming Pools and Ice Skating Arena’s.

ZJA has experience in full service architectural design and construction of big sports stadia, which are FIFA compliant and which are used for mayor international sporting events. ZJA approaches stadium design from two directions. First, we take a classic engineering approach to creating a logic based on utility and necessity. A good stadium design starts with ideal sight lines within the bowl of the stadium, excellent internal orientation, a clear routing etc. Secondly, we add an additional layer by creating a feeling of intimacy and a good sports-atmosphere within the stadium based on unique architecture. Also the precinct is an important part of the special sports-atmosphere we aim to create. From the beginning, when entering the precinct, the spectators become part of an experience where it’s all about joining to watch the game together and taking part in an experience, which is greater than the match or venue itself. These two approaches are joined together in an early stage to become a holistic approach. All of our sports projects are a symbiosis of culture and innovation combined in a unique architectural expression. The majority of our stadia are multifunctional and contain mixed-use functions such as offices, shopping centres and car parks. These functions are part of our vision of a modern stadium which isn’t only used on match-days, but is part of the greater urban fabric, used on an every day basis, the whole year round. We have designed and built innovative, customised solutions for industrial lifting since the 1960’s. The vacuum handling technology can be applied in many different markets, such as concrete, steel, metal, paper, wood, glass, piping, tunnelling, ashlar and barrels. The products of Aerolift go up to 80 tons lifting capacity. You can lift, turn and translocate a load at any desired height. It is all depending on the application. Our vacuum lifters can be used in combination with other lifting methods, such as cranes, excavators, forklift trucks and reachers. We also develop vacuum lifters which operates stand-alone. In order to be able to handle a load by the aid of vacuum technology, the material to be handled must have an airtight surface. Contrary to what is often thought, texture or condition of the surface of the object is not a critical factor for Aerolift.

An important component of our know-how lies in the construction and positioning of the vacuum pads, which are specially developed for the objects they need to lift and their shapes. We can lift boilers, sheets, pipes, beams, drums, section-plates and many other objects. The advantages of vacuum handling technology: • Fast and simple in handling: sucking and releasing only needs a few seconds • Reduction of production costs: higher production speeds and less man power • No damage of the load • Safety first: double safety factor, safety provisions in case of power failure and less chance on accidents

APP All Remove Mrs. B. van Staveren Leuvert 8 5437 AG Beers The Netherlands T +31(0)485 31 56 21 E brigitta@app-protect.com W www.app-protect.com APP develops and produces environmental friendly protective coatings for horizontal and vertical construction surfaces, that retain the visual appearance and physical properties of building materials. Our systems protect the surfaces of many diverse commercial-, civil engineering- and infra-structure projects, but also objects of art and heritage. Durable impregnations are used to waterproof and protect a diverse variety of porous and non-porous materials used in construction. The water-based solution, that meets the most stringent VOC regulations, is used to protect surfaces from damage caused by unwanted pollution. This way it helps reduce the cost and frequency of cleaning. Long term surface protection is achieved in one single application; the non film-forming characteristics penetrate even the smallest pores, without modifying the optical appearance of the substrate. Dirt, graffiti, chewing gum and soot, on surfaces protected with this system, can be removed using just hot water pressure, making it the ideal solution where economic maintenance cleaning is desired.

Furthermore we produce Sacrificial anti-graffiti surface treatment that allows for safe, effective and economical removal of most types of graffiti, saving surfaces from costly traditional methods of graffiti removal such as chemical stripping, abrading or scarifying. Once graffiti has been removed, this damp-open coating can be economically reapplied and avoids high cost of restoration and re-painting surfaces.

Safety for all During events, like football matches, concerts and such like, not only visitors must be able to feel safe. Every organisation is responsible for its personnel and stewards. It will never be possible to fully prevent the risk of aggression, vandalism and other forms of misbehaviour, neither before, during or after an event. Happy Crowd Control Our new innovative system, Happy Crowd Control, reduces that risk to a minimum making it almost impossible to get away with undesirable conduct. Persons with a stadium ban, or persona non grata, will not even be able to enter the grounds. Safety and security from entrance to exit Happy Crowd Control (HCC) focuses on user-friendly and fast access. The certainty that known troublemakers, or those who misbehave, will be apprehended or prevented from entering the stadium at all, gives a sense of security. Our starting point is a clear view on visiting an event: those who want to have a nice time want easy and fast access and do not wish to be disturbed by troublemakers.

ISA supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to become agents of change. Via sports they obtain the confidence, the life skills and the knowledge to create a better future for themselves, their families and their communities. Three examples of ISA’s work all over the world. Economic instability is one of the leading challenges for youth around the world. This is also the case in Egypt where youth unemployment is rampant. Young people lack the opportunity to become (financially) independent. Therefore ISA invests in economic empowerment programmes that use sport as a means to teach essential life skills but also invests in programmes that create concrete opportunities for youth. These programmes contain, for example, vocational training, but also link youth to possibilities for work experience and job and study opportunities.

people into agents of change. Kenyan youth has seen its fair share of violence, for instance around election time. ISA believes that the convening power sport can contribute to a peaceful society. The intrinsic values of sport like teamwork, respect and fair play can contribute to the essence of larger programmes which create dialogue, shared values and cross-group cooperation between divided groups of civilians. A strong and active position of girls and young women within Indonesian society is not always self-evident. Also in sport women oftentimes experience disadvantages. That is why ISA, through sport, invests in the empowerment of girls and young women by designing sport activities, educating female sport coaches and using sport as a platform towards a strong and active position for girls and young women within society.

A peaceful community is crucial for the development of young 52

Rubble can fully be re-used for a wide range of certified constructions. The technology of The Mobile Factory fits into two shipping containers and can be sent to any location where there is a concentration of rubble, hence the name. Crushed debris is processed into liquid concrete, of which the Q-Brixx building system is made. This system allows to construct new, affordable and high qualified homes, schools, working places, club houses, training centres etc. In short, The Mobile Factory helps developing vital communities by giving them a learning and sportive background.

Humanitarian Transforming rubble is a low tec - high touch technology, which enables uneducated workers to quickly learn how to transform rubble into the Q-Brixx system, the unique building methode, developed by The Mobile Factory. Environmental Re-using rubble on location, reduces the need for new natural sources. It relieves the ecological footprint and creates awareness of the multiple values of recycling at all levels of society.

Values Economical Giving rubble a positive economic value as a raw material, instead of labelling it as waste, will stimulate local economies. It reduces costs in chain and the demand on shrinking natural sources.

It works by cleverly combining three phenomena: collecting light with our coating, transporting light through the glass and converting light with our solar cell strips.

when using PowerWindows. We are currently identifying and searching for the appropriate partners to scale up our technology.

PowerWindow combines, in an uncompromising way, the use of windows and solar energy, so that you are no longer restricted to the relative small roof- surface for opaque solar panels. This makes it possible to have a significant impact on the energy footprint on large commercial buildings without compromising the user experience, in contrast to other smart-energy-window solutions that have to deal with low efficiencies or compromise on the user experience. We recently finished our first working Proof-of-Concept on a lab scale of which the results are published in two different scientific papers. The results lead us to expect an overall end-efficiency of 50W/m2, so the entire window surface of a typical office building can compensate up tot 50% of the total electricity consumption 62
