Dolphins sometimes join surfers riding the waves, offering a wonderful sight. Between May and

November, you can spot whales migrating along the coast from the lookout and other vantage points including cruise boats in the Byron Bay region, on the North Coast of NSW. Tea trees line Lake Ainsworth, on the village’s northern edge. A stroll from Seven Mile Beach, the lake has excellent facilities for picnics and barbecues. Accommodation options in Lennox Head include lakeside camping, and you’ll find delicious waterfront cafes and restaurants as well as the monthly Lennox Community Markets every 2nd and 5th Sunday from 8am to 2pm. At the mouth of the Richmond River is the town of Ballina (5 mins drive south of Lennox), the commercial and cultural heart.
