STEP Forward: Paths Beyond Your POSt -
Event Highlight: Ripley’s Aquarium
Grad & Employment Expos
On January 12th Innis went to the Ripley’s Aquarium as a part of the STEP: Paths Beyond Your POSt week of ReOrientation events.
As part of last week’s STEP Forward program, Innis teamed up with Woodsworth to bring two great events to our upper year students. On Monday, we hosted our annual Grad Expo which provided students access to information and tips on applying to grad school, while giving them an opportunity to network with current grad students and faculty & staff of UofT’s various grad programs. On the Friday, we capped off the week of events with our Employment Expo, providing our Innis students with valuable insight into how to prepare for a job and the interview process. We also hosted a wide variety of Innis and Woodsworth Alumni and VIP guests from government, business, law, arts and the humanities, who were very generous in providing their time and advice to our undergrads. Thank you to our ICSS Upper-Year Reps, Samii Folliott and Jasmine Denike, and the Innis Office of Student Life, for putting together such an enriching and successful series of events!
Among the sharks and the fish, this sold-out event was an amazing student bonding experience between the different colleges and faculties here at U of T, as Innis and the other Colleges took over the Aquarium for the evening. There was an Instagram photo scavenger hunt with Tim Horton prizes, and the winner of the iPad raffle draw was a St. Mike’s student. Thank you to everyone who came out, and to the Deans of Students from all the Colleges for collaborating on hosting this event.
