WHAT YOU MISSED!
INTRODUCING: ELSPETH ARBOW
IT’S ALMOST READING WEEK, INNIS! We are nearly halfway through second semester. We are so close.
Hi, I'm Elspeth! You've probably interacted with me in some way, shape, or form because I am in every single corner of Innis. I'm a Cinema Studies specialist with a minor in Buddhism, Psychology, and Mental Health Studies (it's a tiny program at New). I'm from Saint John, New Brunswick (east coast pride, yay) and the things I miss most about home are the ocean and my cat, Buster. A few fun facts about me that are totally non-Innis: I skipped 4th grade, my previous sporting endeavours include soccer, gymnastics, and long-jump, I have two tattoos, and it is my personal goal to prove every single waiter who doesn't think I can finish my food wrong. I think my biggest regret in life is that my social media handles are not elohelspeth (alas, they are all @elspethsface, snap me). Feel free to talk to me about movies any time; my favourite genre is basically anything with a hyphen in it, such as vampirewesterns or b-horror-glam-rock musicals.
We are also so close to not having any more Innis events in the 2015-2016 school year. Make sure you keep reading the newsletter to see all of the interesting things you can still get involved in this year! Over the last few weeks, there were all sorts of events for all sorts of interests! Innis Residence hosted a Chinese New Year celebration that included calligraphy, and sharing all kinds of different dishes! Community Outreach collaborated with CINSSU to have a “We Were Children” Free Friday Film. There was a campus-wide Commuter Appreciation Week where Innis hosted an afternoon of trivia and candy. If any of these events interested you, at all… there’s plenty more where that came from! There has also been a brand new shipment of Innis merch that is now available for purchase (courtesy of the lovely Elspeth)! You can find additional photos on the ICSS Facebook page and you can purchase any of the merchandise at the ICSS Office during office hours. Now you can show your Innis pride all day, every day.
