WHAT YOU MISSED AT INNIS:

INTRODUCING: James Chapman

The social events of the year are beginning to wrap up in preparation for exam season. To celebrate, the Innis Residence Council hosted a Year-End Party at King West’s The Spoke Club. The second annual, semi-formal event featured a DJ, macaroni and cheese and poutine stations, signature Innis-themed drinks, and an awards show!

Hello Innis! I’m James, a first year Urban Studies and Political Science student here at Innis. I have been really lucky this year to be heavily involved around Innis as the Associate Managing Editor of the Innis Herald and as a Junior House Rep with the IRC. Prior to coming to the University of Toronto, I toured a lot of Ontario-based universities from Trent to Queens, seeking a campus where I would find not only academic success, but a home-like community. I feel I have found that here at Innis. The college provides an excellent space to form personal relationships with fellow students and administrators alike. Recently, I received the Sweet Cinnamon Bun award for being a friendly personality around the residence. I have to say, that I am only one of the many residents at Innis who help to build a welcoming community around the building. I look forward to continuing to be involved at the college next year as a Director on the ICSS.

Congratulations go out to 2016-2017 IRC President, Joel Colby, for winning the Overall Dust of the Year Award, and James Chapman, for winning the Sweet Cinnamon Roll Award. These are honours of the highest degree. If you want to continue to be able to attend all of the amazing events hosted by the IRC, like the fabulous Year-End Party or the wonderful monthly House Olympics, make sure you submit your Re-Application Package to the Office of Student Life (behind the Front Desk) before Friday, April 1st.
