DOs and DON’Ts in U of T WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH 5:00 – 6:00PM Innis College Residence Events Room
Wondering how to avoid cheating or plagiarism? Don't know how to protect your own work from being copied? Come to our DOs and DON’Ts at U of T session and learn not only what happens in extreme examples where students break the rules, but also to learn about the trickier situations where you ask yourself, “Is it cheating or is it OK?” With discussion, expert advice, and plenty of examples, we’ll focus on where students can get into trouble, including when REFERENCING and when COLLABORATING, and how to do it right.
Centre for International Learning Language Exchange The Centre for International Experience is launching a Language Exchange for the 2014-2015 academic year for all U of T students! But what is a language exchange? Students are paired up with another student who has knowledge in the language that they wish to learn. You will also be expected to share your language knowledge with them and to commit to 4 hours per month of language exchange with your partner. This program is for students that are both studying a language, or have a general interest in languages. All are welcome! For more information, please contact: cielanguageexchange@utoronto.ca or visit: www.uoft.me/cielanguageexchange

Innis Students: Be part of your College government! Deadline: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH Innis College is the only Arts & Science College at the University of Toronto that has parity government. This means there are an equal number of students to faculty/staff positions in our governing Council, and its respective Boards, Committees, and Sub-Committees. Some students are automatically included in many of these committees by virtue of their current elected position. But we are always looking for more students to fulfill the requirements to maintain equal student representation. Each of the Boards & Committees and Council below are looking for committed individuals who will come to two to three meetings over the course of the academic school year. Your participation in any of these Boards will also satisfy the requirements for the Co-Curricular record, provided you are active in the group and attend all meetings. This is a great opportunity to learn some leadership skills while providing your student voice on how our College is governed. If you are interested in joining one of the following Boards or Committees, or College Council, please send an email with your name, student number and email address to the Innis Dean of Students at tim.worgan@utoronto.ca no later than FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH.
