September 24, 2014 NEWS
The Beginning of a Great School Year! We’ve had a great start to the year with a variety of recent events including the International Students’ Welcome Day where they met the Committee members, the Center for International Experience Advisor, and members from the Registrar’s Office. After introductions, lunch was served with the Principal and Dean of Students. Thank you to everyone who was involved in putting the event together and for the speakers who passed on their wisdom, advice, and help to the students. The Innis College Student Society (ICSS) also held its first Annual General Meeting (AGM). Innis College students always get a say in ICSS activities, but the AGM is an opportunity for students to vote on issues before the hard budget is finalised. It also provides a venue for the constituency to discuss ICSS matters on a larger scale. The AGM and all regular meetings are great opportunities for you to have your voice heard! In case you didn’t know, meetings are open to all Innis students who are interested in getting to know the inner workings of the College and University. The next meeting is on Monday, October 6th at 9:00pm in the Innis Residence Events Room, 111 St. George Street. We also just had our ICSS and ICC by-election so be sure to keep your eyes open for the results!
U of T also bled blue on Saturday, September 13th against the York Lions. We hosted the 45th annual Red and Blue Bowl at the Varsity Center where we dominated the field with a 70 to 0 Argo Cup victory! This breaks the record for the largest margin of victory and most points scored in Red and Blue History! If you want to see footage of the game, visit the U of T Varsity Blue’s video on YouTube.
