WHAT YOU MISSED AT INNIS:

INTRODUCING: Sherman Kwok

There are so many wonderful things happening at Innis and at UofT every day: knowledge is explored and differences are celebrated. This past week, Innis, UofT and Canada acknowledged its past, and remembered those who risked and lost their lives to create the country we live in today. Last week the ICSS participated in the Remembrance Day ceremony, held at The Soldier’s Tower, by providing a traditional wreath.

My name is Sherman and I am the Coordinator of Insight Mentorship. I am in my final year at UofT studying Psychology. I find Innis as a very warm and welcoming place for students to learn and make friends. Innis has made my university career much more enjoyable!

The Soldiers’ Tower, which stands in the centre of campus, honours those UofT alumni who lost their lives in service, with their names carved into the archway and on the screen of the tower. One of the most celebrated poems during the time of Remembrance Day is called “In Flanders Fields” and was written by John McCrae, also a UofT alumnus. Remembrance Day has the tendency to remind us of how many things we have to celebrate. There is a wealth of opportunity at UofT. Come celebrate those opportunities with your friends at Innis.
