La huella que dejamos

l pasado mes de abril Arabella Golf publicó la medición de su Huella de Carbono de 2018, resultando un gran impacto beneficioso sobre el medio ambiente, al absorber sustancialmente más CO2 del que libera. Encontrarán más detalles en el interior de la revista. Simplemente déjenme apuntar que no hay muchas actividades económicas que generan una huella favorable, que en nuestro caso es el equivalente a absorber el CO2 emitido por 396 coches, y que mejoró en un 6,6% el impacto medido en 2017. La mejora continua de la huella de carbono forma parte de nuestro compromiso medioambiental, como también lo conforma el empeño en reducir la huella hídrica, hecho claramente refrendado por la estricta utilización de agua regenerada, el uso de céspedes de bajo consumo y la innovación constante en equipos de riego que minimizan el gasto de agua. Y también la huella ecológica, que no es más que atender la demanda de la naturaleza. Aquí solo recuerdo que los campos de golf, con su flora, su fauna y sus estanques, son verdaderos ecosistemas que funcionan como un santuario de la biodiversidad. Y no olvidamos la huella social, que se enmarca dentro de nuestro programa “12 bajo par“, solidario con causas en las que nos comprometemos firmemente cada uno de los doce meses de año. Permítanme una breve reflexión: es importante ser conscientes de lo que supone nuestro paso por la vida, para nuestros hijos y para el entorno. Lo que hacemos o dejamos de hacer y, sobre todo, cómo lo hacemos, deja una marca indeleble que condiciona el futuro de nuestros sucesores. Nuestros padres dejaron una huella imborrable en nosotros, y no lo supimos mientras lo hacían y además, no nos dimos cuenta hasta muchos años más tarde. Así que, esforcémonos cuánto antes por dejar un buen legado. Para eso hay que desear influir positivamente y comprometerse con perspectiva, aún sabiendo que tiene cierta dificultad y coste inicial. Sí, no es fácil. Pero nadie dijo que la vida lo fuera… ¡Gracias por ayudarnos a seguir con este compromiso social y medioambiental!

HE FOOTPRINTS WE LEAVE BEHIND US. Last April Arabella Golf published the calculation of its Carbon Footprint for 2018, with the result that it has an important beneficial impact on the environment, because it absorbs substantially more CO2 than it releases. You can find more details inside the magazine. But simply allow me to point out that not many economic activities generate a positive carbon footprint, which in our case is the equivalent of absorbing the CO2 emitted by 396 cars, with an improvement of 6.6% compared to the impact measured in 2017. Continuous improvement of our carbon footprint is part of our environmental commitment, as it is our determination to reduce our water footprint – something clearly borne out by the strict utilisation of regenerated water, use of low-consumption lawns and constant innovation in irrigation equipment which minimises water expenditure. And our ecological footprint, which quite simply consists of attending to the demands of nature. On this, I would point out that golf courses, with their flora, fauna and lakes, are veritable ecosystems which function as a biodiversity sanctuary. And let us not forget our social footprint, framed within our “12 under par“ solidarity programme which supports causes we are firmly committed to every single month of the year. Allow me to reflect briefly on something: it is important that we are aware of what our passage through life means to our children and our surroundings. What we do, or do not do, and above all, how we do it, leaves an indelible mark that conditions the future of our successors.

Our parents made a permanent mark on us; we were not aware of this as they were doing so and moreover, we did not realise until many years later. So we should now strive to leave a good legacy as soon as possible. Which is why we must yearn to have a positive influence and a commitment with perspective, even though we know that this presents certain difficulties and involves an initial cost. IE SPUREN, DIE WIR HINTERLASSEN. Im April veröffentlichte die Arabella Golf Gruppe die Ergebnisse ihrer CO2-Bilanz 2018. Wie sich zeigt, hat die Geschäftstätigkeit des Unternehmens positive Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt, es wird wesentlich mehr Kohlendioxid aufgenommen als freigesetzt. Einen ausführlichen Bericht finden Sie auf den nächsten Seiten unseres Magazins. Lassen Sie mich an dieser Stelle lediglich feststellen, dass es nicht viele Wirtschaftszweige gibt, die eine positive CO2-Bilanz vorweisen können. In unserem Fall entspricht der positive Überschuss dem CO2-Ausstoß von 396 Autos. Im Vergleich zu 2017 konnten wir die CO2-Emissionen um 6,6 Prozent senken. Die kontinuierliche Verbesserung unserer CO2-Bilanz ist Teil unseres Engagements für Umweltschutz, so wie es auch unser Bemühen ist, den Wasserverbrauch zu senken, indem wir auf unseren Golfplätzen nur aufbereitetes Wasser zur Bewässerung nutzen oder Rasen, der weniger Wasser benötigt. Dazu kommt der Einsatz innovativer Bewässerungstechnik, die den Wasserverbrauch minimiert. Ein weiterer wichtiger Punkt ist unsere Öko-Bilanz, mit der wir den Bedürfnissen von Mutter Natur Rechnung tragen. Ich möchte daran erinnern, dass die Golfplätze mit ihrer Flora, Fauna und den Seen Wasserhindernisse wahrhaftige Ökosysteme und Sanktuarien der Artenvielfalt darstellen. Nicht zu vergessen auch die gesellschaftliche Bilanz im Rahmen unserer Initiative „12 unter Par“, mit der wir uns das ganze Jahr über mit sozialen Anliegen solidarisch zeigen. Erlauben Sie mir eine kurze Überlegung: es ist wichtig, dass wir uns bewusst machen, was unsere Anwesenheit im Leben voraussetzt, sowohl für unsere Kinder, als auch für unsere Umgebung. Was wir tun, was wir unterlassen und vor allem, wie wir etwas tun, hinterlässt unauslöschliche Spuren für die Zukunft unserer Nachfahren. Unsere Eltern prägten uns und wir waren uns dessen nicht bewusst, während sie dies taten. Wir bemerkten es erst viele Jahre später. Wir sollten uns also anstrengen, unseren Nachkommen ein gutes Erbe zu hinterlassen. Um dies zu erreichen, muss man positiven Einfluss ausüben wollen und sich mit Weitsicht engagieren, auch in dem Wissen, dass es gewisse Schwierigkeiten gibt und natürlich anfängliche Kosten. Nein, einfach ist es beileibe nicht. Aber es hat auch niemand behauptet, das Leben sei einfach. Vielen Dank, dass Sie unser gesellschaftliches und Engagement für die Umwelt unterstützen!

Mejoras que elevan su experiencia de juego

stimad@ golfista, créame si le digo que en esta columna se hace difícil resumir todas las mejoras y cambios que vamos a acometer en breve, o que recientemente hemos llevado a cabo en nuestras instalaciones. El objetivo es aumentar al máximo su experiencia de juego con nosotros. Para empezar, deseamos que haya podido disfrutar ya de las mejoras realizadas en Golf Son Vida en todos los bunkers de greens y en las nuevas plataformas de tees de salida. Si todavía no lo ha hecho, le invito a que nos visite este verano. Este año Golf Son Vida cumple 55 años, siendo el campo con más historia de Mallorca. Esté atento a nuestros canales de comunicación, ya que pondremos en marcha alguna campaña muy especial para que celebre este cumpleaños con nosotros... Desde principios del mes de junio tenemos a su disposición la nueva plataforma de reservas. Una herramienta más ágil y con una gran variedad de ofertas de tee times, que confiamos se adapten a sus necesidades. En ella encontrará todo tipo de tarifas para jugar en cualquiera de los tres campos, que vienen a completar nuestros ya conocidos “Especiales de Verano”, en vigor desde el pasado 3 de junio. También me gustaría hablarle del nuevo proyecto que acabamos de implementar en Golf Son Muntaner, referente a a la creación de una nueva marca de salidas (de color naranja), para ofrecer un abanico más amplio de tees de salida a todos nuestros jugadores. El objetivo es conseguir un cambio significativo en el proceso de juego, recomendando que las salidas de los diferentes tees se hagan en función del hándicap de juego, eliminando el concepto de caballero profesional, caballero amateur, dama profesional y dama amateur. Se eliminará la distinción por sexos, y tanto damas como caballeros jugarán desde el tee que consideren se adapta mejor a su distancia y a su nivel de juego. Los golfistas pueden acelerar el juego utilizando tees adelantados, que proporcionan una mayor jugabilidad del campo. En definitiva, deseamos que disfrute al máximo de su juego y del campo. Gracias por apoyarnos. Es un placer formar parte de sus buenos recuerdos.

MPROVEMENTS TO ELEVATE YOUR GAME EXPERIENCE. Dear Golfer, believe me when I say that it is difficult to sum up in this column all of the improvements and changes we are about to undertake, or indeed those we have made recently in our installations. The aim is to increase your experience of playing golf with us to the full. To begin with, we hope you have already enjoyed the improvements carried out in Golf Son Vida on all of the bunkers on the greens and the new starting tee platforms. If you have not already done so, I invite you to pay us a visit this summer. This year, Golf Son Vida turns 55 – the course with the longest history on Mallorca. Keep an eye on our communication channels, as we will be setting a very special campaign in motion so that you can celebrate this birthday with us... As from the beginning of June, our new reservation platform is available. A more streamlined tool and one with a wide variety of tee times on offer, which we trust will adapt to your needs. On it, you will find all kinds of fees for playing on any of the three courses, complementing our already-famous “Summer Specials” which have been in place since 3rd June. I would also like to tell you about the new project we have

The aim is to bring about a significant change in the process of play, recommending that the different tee areas be used according to one’s handicap, eliminating the concept of Gentlemen professionals, Gentlemen amateurs, Ladies professional and Ladies amateurs. The gender distinction will be eliminated, and both ladies and gentlemen will play from the tee considered most suitable to their distance and level of play. Golfers can accelerate the game by using tees further forward, which provides better playability of the course. In short, we hope you fully enjoy your game and the course. Thank you for your support. Liebe G@lffreunde, glauben Sie mir, es ist gar nicht so einfach, in dieser Kolumne alle Verbesserungen und Veränderungen aufzuzählen, die wir bald angehen werden oder kürzlich umgesetzt haben. Unser Ziel ist dabei stets, Ihr Spielvergnügen auf unseren Plätzen zu erhöhen. Wir hoffen, Sie hatten Gelegenheit, die Verbesserungen in allen Bunkern auf den Grüns im Golfclub Son Vida sowie die neuen Abschlagszonen in Augenschein zu nehmen? Wenn nicht, lade ich Sie ein, uns im Sommer zu besuchen. In diesem Jahr feiert der Golfclub Son Vida sein 55-jähriges Bestehen. Der Golfplatz ist der geschichtsträchtigste Course auf Mallorca. Verfolgen Sie aufmerksam unsere Präsenz in Medien und Netzwerken, wir werden so manche ganz besondere Kampagne lancieren, um diesen Geburtstag mit Ihnen gemeinsam zu feiern. Darüber hinaus möchte ich Sie über ein neues Projekt informieren, das wir erst kürzlich auf Son Muntaner eingeführt haben: eine neue orangefarbene Abschlagsmarke. Damit soll das Angebot an Tees für alle Spieler erweitert und der Spielmodus dahingehend verändert werden, damit ab sofort der Abschlag in Abhängigkeit vom geforderten Handicap an den verschiedenen Tees erfolgt und das Konzept Profi-Spieler, Amateur-Spieler bzw. Profi-Spielerin und Amateur-Spielerin aufgehoben wird. Die Unterscheidung nach Geschlecht wird somit abgeschafft. Damen und Herren nehmen den Abschlag von dem Tee vor, das nach ihrem Empfinden am besten ihrer Distanz und ihrem Spielniveau entspricht. Die Spieler können das Spiel beschleunigen, indem sie vorgerückte Tees benutzen, was die Spielbarkeit des Platzes erhöht. Schließlich bleibt mir nur, Ihnen ein maximales Spielvergnügen zu wünschen. Nuevos bunkers en Golf Son Vida

on la mirada siempre puesta en mejorar la experiencia de los golfistas, Golf Son Vida ha renovado sus bunkers con el método Better Billy Bunker (BBB). A través de 5 fases, BBB proporciona máxima capacidad de drenaje y permite que el agua fluya hacia los desagües con mayor rapidez. 1. Eliminación de la arena vieja e inspección de los drenajes. La renovación de tuberías incluye nuevas líneas que aseguran el drenaje. También se ha remodelado la sub-base de los bunkers para recuperar sus formas originales. 2. Instalación de la grava-manta. Se han cubierto los drenajes con gravilla del calibre que establece el sistema, y la superficie de la sub-base con un espesor homogéneo de 50 milímetros. 3. Aplicación del polímero. Desarrollado por la empresa MAFER con pistola pulverizadora sobre la grava, para que el polímero mantenga unida la gravilla.

4. Curación del polímero. Tras recuperarse el polímero en 24 horas, se ha realizado una inspección de dureza en cada bunker. 5. Instalación de la arena. Por último, se ha utilizado una capa uniforme de 10 centímetros de arena silicea, que cumple los requisitos de granulometría necesarios.

EW BUNKERS AT GOLF SON VIDA. Always with a view to improving the experience of our players, Golf Son Vida has renovated its bunkers with the Better Billy Bunker (BBB) method. In 5 phases, BBB provides maximum drainage capacity and allows water to flow to the drains faster. 1. Remove old sand and inspect drain lines. The renovation of pipes includes new lines which ensure drainage. The floor of the bunkers has also

been renovated, so as to restore their original shape. 2. Install layer of gravel. The drains are covered with gravel of the calibre established by the system, as well as the surface of the floor of the bunker, with an even depth of 50 millimetres. 3. Installation of polymer. Developed by MAFER, and applied with a spray pistol over the gravel, so that the polymer stays glued to the gravel. 4. Curing of polymer. After recovering for 24 hours in the polymer, each bunker was quality controlled to check the level of hardness. 5. Sand installation. Finally, a uniform layer of 10 centimetres of silica sand which complies with the necessary particle size requisites was installed.

möglicht in fünf Phasen maximale Dränagekapazität, wodurch das Wasser schneller in die Abflüsse fließt. 1. Phase Abtragen des alten Sandes und Inspektion der Dränage. Zur Sicherung einer effektiven Dränage wurden Rohre ausgetauscht und neue Rohrleitungen verlegt. Der Unterbau der Bunker wurde ebenfalls umgestaltet, um die Bunker in ihrer Originalform wiederherzustellen. 2. Auftragen der Kiesschicht. Die Dränagerohre wurden wie von der Methode vorgeschrieben mit Feinkies bedeckt, auf die Oberfläche des Unterbaus wurde Kies vom Kaliber 50 Millimeter in einer homogenen Schicht aufgetragen. 3. Auftragen der Polymerschicht. Von der Firma MAFER entwickelt. Mit einer Spritzpistole wird die Polymerschicht auf die Kiesdecke aufgetragen und mit dieser verbunden. 4. Aushärten der Polymerschicht. Nach 24 Stunden Aushärtungszeit wurde jeder Bunker auf seine Aushärtung überprüft. 5. Befüllen des Bunkers mit einer einheitlichen, zehn Zentimeter dicken Schicht aus Quarzsand, der die notwendigen granulometrischen Anforderungen erfüllt.

rabella Golf Mallorca tiene un impacto beneficioso sobre el medio ambiente al absorber sustancialmente más CO2 del que libera, según el reciente cálculo de su Huella de Carbono medida por la empresa Sinergies, especialista en medio ambiente. En 2018 las actividades de Arabella Golf Mallorca generaron un total de 1.621 toneladas de CO2, mientras que su amplia superficie vegetal absorbió un total de 3.601. La diferencia positiva de 1.980 toneladas equivale al CO2 emitido por 396 coches de tamaño medio y que recorren 20.000 kilómetros al año. Además, el plan medioambiental de Arabella Golf, que incluye numerosos esfuerzos de la empresa por reducir el consumo de agua regenerada para riego, restringir el uso de productos químicos, utilizar productos fitosanitarios sostenibles y reducir los residuos, principalmente plásticos de un solo uso, ha permitido rebajar en un 6,6% las emisiones de CO2 respecto al 2017. Esta estrategia, basada en el principio de empresa circular, se sustenta sobre el amplio compromiso de Arabella Golf Mallorca con el medio ambiente que, desde hace años, ha permitido a Golf Son Muntaner ser el único campo de golf de España acreditado con la certificación EMAS (Reglamento Comunitario de Ecogestión y Ecoauditoría). Además, todos los campos de Arabella Golf Mallorca han recibido la certificación ISO 14001 por su excelente sistema de gestión medioambiental.

HE BENEFICIAL IMPACT OF AGM ON THE ENVIRONMENT. Arabella Golf Mallorca has a beneficial impact on the environment, as it absorbs substantially more CO 2 than it releases, according to a recent calculation of its carbon footprint made by the company Sinergies, which specialises in the environment. In 2018 the activities of Arabella Golf Mallorca generated a total of 1,621 tons of CO2, whilst its large plant-covered surface absorbed a total of 3,601 tons. The positive difference of 1,980 tons is the equivalent of the CO2 emitted by 396 medium-sized cars travelling 20,000 kilometres a year. Moreover, Arabella Golf’s environment plan, which includes numerous efforts by the company to reduce the consumption of regenerated water for irrigation, restricts the use of chemical products, use sustainable phytosanitary products and reduce waste – mainly

single-use plastics – has enabled it to reduce its CO2 emissions by 6.6% as compared to 2017. This strategy, based on the circular economy, is held up by Arabella Golf Mallorca’s broad-reaching commitment to the environment which for years now has allowed Golf Son Muntaner to be the only golf course in Spain accredited with the EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) certification. In addition, all of the courses of Arabella Golf Mallorca have obtained the ISO 14001 certification as a result of their excellent environmental management system.

HE GOLF COURSE AS AN ECOSYSTEM. Aside from the physical and recreational activity involved in practising golf, players and customers of Golf Son Muntaner are fortunate enough to witness its diverse, colourful ecosystem, thanks to the flora and fauna which inhabit the lawn, bunkers, lagoons and woods nearby. As well as mammals, amphibians and all kinds of insects, five types of birds co-habit amongst the lush vegetation.

Trackman. Radar situado a tres metros de la bola, que mide sus parámetros y los del palo: distancia, momento del impacto y ángulo de lanzamiento, entre otros. Myswing Pro. Sistema biomecánico con 18 sensores en el cuerpo. Arroja datos de rotación e inclinación del brazo, la caja torácica y la pelvis. Myswing Balance. Mide la presión del jugador en el suelo. Da información gráfica de los movimientos de punta y talón, así como la carga vertical de ambos pies. Capto. Pequeño sensor en la varilla con 6 giroscopios que arroja 32 parámetros. Indica, por ejemplo, con qué parte del palo se golpea a la bola. Mirror Vision. Sistema de espejo con un iPad al lado de la bola. n reciente estudio de la Fundació Impulsa Balears refleja que el impacto económico de la red de campos de golf de Mallorca constituye el 0,26% de la producción anual de bienes y servicios de la isla, es decir, 72 millones de euros en total. El impacto directo (0,13%), indirecto (0,06%) e inducido (0,07%) suman la totalidad. El efecto multiplicador de la red por cada euro facturado genera 2,05 euros. La red de campos de golf de Mallorca se desarrolla con dos propuestas: por un lado, la demanda de servicios que recibe de residentes y no residentes; y por el otro, la demanda sobre comercio, restauración, alojamiento y alquiler de instalaciones. La práctica del golf (84,2%), la venta de green-fees (64,2%) y los servicios deportivos (43,2%) son los que generan un mayor impulso económico.

uál es su mayor logro en el mundo del golf? Sucedió el año 1995, en Mas Palomas Golf GC. Allí jugué la ronda final en el European Tour Tournament con Severiano Ballesteros, y gané el torneo por un golpe. ¿Qué significa para usted continuar con su carrera golfística como jugador del Senior Tour? Es una oportunidad de seguir desarrollándome como golfista profesional. Intentar jugar contra la generación más joven y demostrar que los mayores de 50 todavía pueden jugar bien al golf. Denos por favor tres razones por las cuales el golf es importante en su vida. Primero, me brinda un maravilloso reto. Segundo, es una aventura viajar por el mundo y jugar en campos diferentes. Y tercero, sencillamente, me encanta. ¿Cuál es su opinión de los campos de Arabella Golf Mallorca? Para mí es siempre un placer jugar en estos 3 campos y visitar este resort, permitiéndome vivir momentos inolvidables: buen alojamiento, personal agradable que hace bien su trabajo, buenos y desafiantes campos con magníficas instalaciones para entrenar.

I played the final group in the European Tour Tournament with Severiano Ballesteros, and I won the tournament with one stroke. What does it mean to you to continue your golf career as a Senior Tour Player? It is an opportunity to continue to develop as a professional golf player. Try to play against the younger generation and show that + 50 can still play great golf. Tell us three reasons why golf is important in your

life. One, it gives me a marvellous challenge. Two, it’s an adventure to travel around the world and play different golf courses. Three, I love it. Dort spielte ich die Finalrunde des European Tour Tournament mit Severiano Ballesteros und ich gewann um einen Schlag. Was bedeutet es für Sie, Ihre Golfkarriere als Spieler der Senior Tour weiterzuverfolgen? Es ist eine Möglichkeit, mich als Profispieler weiterzuentwickeln. Gegen die junge Generation anzutreten und zu zeigen, dass auch über 50-Jährige noch gut Golf spielen können. Nennen Sie uns bitte drei Gründe dafür, warum Golf in Ihrem Leben wichtig ist. Erstens ist eine wunderbare Herausforderung für mich, zweitens ist es ein Abenteuer, durch die Welt zu reisen und auf verschiedenen Plätzen zu spielen und drittens macht mir Golf einfach Spaß. Wie bewerten Sie die Plätze der Arabella Golf Mallorca? Für mich ist es immer ein Vergnügen, auf den drei Plätzen zu spielen und das Resort zu besuchen. “¿Dónde puedes encontrar algo así a tan solo 2 horas de vuelo desde Alemania?”

uáles han sido sus mejores éxitos como jugadora profesional? Destacaría mis tres victorias en el Tour como jugadora profesional. Una victoria como jugadora profesional es lo máximo. ¿Cómo empezó a jugar a golf? Por mi abuela, en 1987. Jugábamos a golf y sobre todo jugábamos mucho a golf en Mallorca. En aquel entonces sólo existían los campos de Son Vida, Poniente, Canyamel y Capdepera. ¿Qué significa el deporte de golf para usted? Significa muchísimo de verdad. Durante aproximadamente 20 años el golf fue mi vida, todo giraba en torno a este deporte. Luego nacieron mis hijas y mis prioridades cambiaron. Sin lugar a dudas, jugar al golf es, hasta día de hoy, la cosa que mejor sé hacer, que mejor sé trasmitir y enseñar. ¿En qué consiste su trabajo de coach de golf exactamente? Cuéntenos de su academia de golf en Múnich. Desde el año 2014 doy clases, compartiendo mis experiencias como jugadora de golf. En este contexto, no sólo enseño la técnica de jugar, sino intento trasmitir a mis clientes cómo funciona el juego de golf. Hay una gran diferencia entre dejar a alguien practicar unos hoyos con el palo o enseñarle la filosofía completa de este complejo juego. Mi coaching abarca los áreas de entrenamiento mental, técnica, técnica del juego, forma física y dieta alimenticia. ¿Cómo valora los campos de golf de Arabella Golf Mallorca? Durante muchos años entrené en Son Muntaner, era mi campo de entrenamiento en los meses de invierno, cuando no competía en torneos. El campo de Son Vida es parte de mi historia como jugadora de golf, ya que de niña lo visitaba mucho con mis abuelos. Esta semana jugaré por primera vez en el campo de Son Quint. For me the highlights are my three wins on the Tour as a professional player. A victory as a professional golfer is the greatest. How did you start playing golf? Through my grandmother, in 1987. We used to play golf, and above all we would play golf a lot in Mallorca. Back then the only courses were those of Son Vida, Poniente, Canyamel and Capdepera. What does the sport of golf mean to you? It really does mean a lot to me. For approximately 20 years, golf was my life – everything revolved around this sport. Then I had my daughters and my priorities changed. Without a doubt golf has been and still is the thing I do best in life, the thing I know how to transmit and teach the best. What does your work as a golf coach consist of exactly? Tell us about your golf academy in Munich. I have been teaching since 2014, sharing my experience as a golfer. In this

setting, I don’t only teach the technique of the game, but I also try to transmit to my clients just how the game of golf works. There is a big difference between letting someone play a few holes with a club, and teaching them the entire philosophy of this complex game. My coaching covers the areas of mental training, technique, play technique, fitness and diet. How do you rate the golf courses of Arabella Golf Mallorca? I trained at Son Muntaner for many years – it was my training course over the winter months, when I wasn’t competing in tournaments. The Son Vida course forms part of my history as a golf player, as I visited it a lot with my grandparents as a child. This week I will play on the Son Quint course for the first time. In my opinion it’s great to come to Mallorca as a golfer and find two first-class hotels, three golf courses and excellent conditions for practising the sport. Where else can you find something like this, and just a two hours’ flight away from Germany?

Viel, sehr viel sogar. Golf war lange Zeit mein Leben, für rund 20 Jahre hat sich wirklich alles um den Sport gedreht. Dann kamen meine Kinder zur Welt und die Prioritäten änderten sich. Bis heute ist Golf jedoch mit Sicherheit das, was ich am besten, und auch am besten coachen und vermitteln kann. Was machen Sie heute beruflich? Was beinhaltet Ihr Job als Golfcoach genau? Erzählen Sie uns von Ihrer Golfakademie in München. Ich coache seit 2014 meine Erfahrungen in diesem Sport. esde el 1 de enero de 2019 han entrado en vigor nuevas reglas de Golf. En la Pro Shop de Golf Son Muntaner está disponible el libro Expert Golf que incluye todas las reglas, por tan solo 20€. El objetivo principal es que sean más fáciles de entender y de aplicar para todos los golfistas; sean más consistentes, simples y justas; y que refuercen los principios y carácter del juego vigentes desde hace siglos. Estas son algunas de las más significativas:

EW RULES OF GOLF. Several new rules of golf came into force as from 1 st January 2019. The book Expert Golf, which contains all of the rules, is available at the Golf Son Muntaner Pro Shop, for just €20. The main aim is to make them easier to understand and apply for all golfers; for them to be more consistent, simpler and fairer; and to reinforce the principles and nature of the game that have prevailed for centuries. Here are some of the most significant changes:

Ziel des neuen Regelwerks ist eine Verschlankung der Regeln sowie deren bessere Verständlichkeit und Anwendbarkeit für alle Spieler. Die neuen Normen sollen konsistenter, einfacher und gerechter sein und somit die seit Jahrhunderten gültigen Prinzipien und den Charakter des Golfspiels stärken. Wir stellen Ihnen einige der bedeutenden Änderungen vor:

Promoviendo un ritmo de juego más rápido. El ritmo de juego es uno de los grandes problemas del golf hoy en día. Se recomienda que el jugador ejecute cada golpe en no más de 40 segundos – y usualmente más rápido – una vez que sea su turno de juego. Encouraging prompt pace of play. Pace of play is one of the big issues of golf today. It is recommended that a player should make a stroke in no more than 40 seconds – and usually faster – when it is their turn. Schnellerer Spielrhythmus: Der Spielrhythmus ist eines der großen Probleme des heutigen Golfsports. Die Empfehlung lautet daher, dass jeder Spieler jeden Schlag so schnell wie möglich ausführen soll, die maximale Begrenzung liegt bei 40 Sekunden.

Bola en movimiento accidentalmente desviada. Si la bola en movimiento del jugador le golpea accidentalmente a sí mismo, a su equipamiento, a su caddie, a alguien atendiendo el asta bandera para el jugador o a un asta bandera quitada o atendida, no habrá penalización. Ball in motion accidentally deflected. If the player’s moving ball accidentally hits the player, their equipment or caddie, or somebody attending the flag-stick for the player, or a flag-stick that has been removed or is attended, there will be no penalty. Ball trifft Spieler oder Ausrüstung: Es erfolgt keine Strafe, wenn der Ball eines Spielers diesen selbst, seine eigene Ausrüstung, seinen Caddie oder eine Person, die die Fahnenstange für den Spieler bedient oder eine entfernte oder noch steckende oder bediente Fahnenstange trifft.

Bola perdida. Se reduce el tiempo para buscar la bola: Una bola estará perdida si no se la encuentra en tres minutos desde el comienzo de la búsqueda. Lost ball. The time for a ball search is reduced: if a ball is not found within 3 minutes from the beginning of a search, it will be lost. Verlorener Ball: Laut der neuen Regel beträgt die Suchzeit für einen verlorenen Ball nur noch drei Minuten ab Beginn der Suche. Nach Ablauf dieser Zeit gilt der Ball als verloren.

Bola en reposo que se mueve accidentalmente. No habrá penalización en tanto se considera justo que un movimiento accidental en estas circunstancias no debe ser penalizado. Ball at rest accidentally moved. There will be no penalty as long as it is seen to be an accidental movement. Liegender Ball, der unabsichtlich bewegt wird: Wird die Bewegung eines ruhenden Balles als versehentlich bewertet, ist dies ab sofort straflos.

Bunkers. No habrá penalidad si el jugador toca o mueve impedimentos sueltos en un bunker. Bunkers. No penalty for moving or touching loose impediments in a bunker. Bunker: Lose Naturstoffe dürfen in Bunkern nun straflos berührt oder bewegt werden.

Uso de palos dañados. El jugador podrá continuar usando cualquier palo que sea dañado durante la vuelta, sin importar como sucedió. Use of damaged clubs. Players will be allowed to keep using any club damaged during the round, however the damage occurred. Benutzung beschädigter Schläger: Der Spieler darf jeden Schläger, der innerhalb der Golfrunde beschädigt worden ist, weiter benutzen. Dabei ist es unerheblich, wodurch die Beschädigung des Schlägers verursacht wurde.

La botella de aluminio, todo un éxito

rabella Golf Mallorca se ha enfocado este año en reducir los plásticos de un solo uso con la colaboración de los jugadores que han adquirido nuestra botella de aluminio. El compromiso de todos con el medio ambiente ha superado la expectativa inicial. Más de 40 mil botellas de plástico se han dejado de vender en todos los campos, que cuentan con fuentes de agua mineralizada donde se pueden llenar las botellas sin coste.

H E A LU M I N I U M BOTTLE, A GREAT SUCCESS. This year Arabella Golf Mallorca has been focussing on reducing single-use plastics in collaboration with players, who have acquired our aluminium bottle. The commitment of everybody to the environment has exceeded the initial expectations. More than 40 thousand plastic bottles have ceased to be sold on all the courses, which have mineralised water fountains where the bottles can be refilled at no charge.

IE ALUMINIUMFLASCHE – EIN VOLLER ERFOLG. Arabella Golf Mallorca legt in diesem Jahr den Fokus auf die Verminderung von Einweg-Plastikmüll. Dabei zählt das Unternehmen auf die Unterstützung der Spieler, die unsere firmeneigene Aluminiumflasche erworben haben. Das Engagement für Umweltschutz hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen: auf den Plätzen wurden insgesamt 40.000 Plastiflaschen weniger verkauft. Unsere Plätze sind mit Trinkwasserquellen ausgestattet, an denen die Aluminiumflaschen kostenlos nachgefüllt werden können.

olf Son Vida, el primer campo de golf de Mallorca, festeja este año su 55 aniversario. Los mejores jugadores europeos de las últimas décadas, entre ellos Severiano Ballesteros, han dejado aquí momentos que son parte de la historia de Arabella Golf Mallorca y de nuestro deporte.

OLF SON VIDA TURNS 55. Golf Son Vida, Mallorca’s first golf course, celebrates its 55th anniversary this year. The best European players of recent decades, including Severiano Ballesteros, have lived out moments here which now form part of the history of Arabella Golf Mallorca and our sport.

Sé que voy a echar de menos el buen ambiente que siempre reina entre todos los trabajadores. Este compañerismo siempre ha dado buen resultado, cuando ha habido alguna incidencia, entre todos hemos buscado la solución. Es la mayor satisfacción que me llevo”.

Our colleague Germán Company, the security staff of the Arabella Golf Mallorca courses since 2011, recently retired. “Working in this company gave me a great deal of satisfaction. I know I will miss the great work atmosphere that always prevails amongst all the employees. This camaraderie has always had good results – whenever there was an incident, we always managed to find a solution together. That is the greatest source of satisfaction for me now”.

Diese Kameradschaft hat sich stets vorteilhaft ausgewirkt. Bei Zwischenfällen haben wir alle nach einer Lösung gesucht. Das erfüllt mich mit Zufriedenheit und ist das Schönste, das ich von hier mitnehme.“

El programa “12 bajo Par” cumple su séptimo año, gracias a la contribución de todos los jugadores que acuden a nuestros campos e instalaciones. Con el aporte de 1 euro solidario de cada uno de ellos, se realizan iniciativas enfocadas a las personas que más lo necesitan, a través de diferentes ONG’s. Las asociaciones que participan este año en el programa son: Sonrisas menudas en el mundo, AUBA Mallorca, Amadiba Ong, ABDEM, Associació Balear d’Esclerosi Múltiple, Fundación Prodis, Fundació Natzaret, Fundación Indig, Shambala, Fundacion Nemo, Fundación Trobada, Handisport Mallorca y Mater Misericordiae Palma.

EVEN YEARS OF SOLIDARITY INITIATIVE. Solidarity and good deeds have always occupied an important place in the philosophy of Arabella Golf Mallorca.
