1. PRESENTATION Fetart is pleased to present the first edition of Circulation(s), festival of young European photography, which will take place from February 19th to March 20th 2011, in la galerie Côté Seine of Bagatelle park in Paris (16ème). This event presents a panorama of the new generation of European photographers. It aims to highlight the cultural space shared by Europeans and based on a common cultural

heritage,

to

promote

exchanges

by

showing

to

the

French

public,

photographers and European actors from the world of image and to lay out, through the photographic medium, the outlines of a European identity. In the core of the programme, an exhibition of 30 photographers invite to discover how

creative

and

talented

young

European

photography

is.

How

do

young

photographers consider Europe today? What are their sources of inspiration? Their worries? How do they consider the future? This first festival intends to unite and create a network of European actors from the world of image sharing the same ambition than Fetart: help young photographers to integrate into the professional world. The website (www.festival-circulations.com) provides access to the works and to the

biographical

references

of

the

artists

exhibited

as

well

as

the

programme of the festival. A bilingual catalog French / English will be published.

Circulation(s), a European festival dedicated to young photography Based on the fact that there was no photographic event entirely dedicated to young European photography in France, Fetart, due to a first successful experience in 2008 with an exhibition gathering 21 European photographers during le Mois de la Photo in Paris, has wished to perpetuate this initiative by organizing an annual photographic festival in Paris.

As an extension of the action of the association promote festival

The festival differs from existing festivals of photography through its panEuropean positioning and its open-mindedness to diverse inputs and currents. It aims to take over European cultural initiatives in order to : - encourage exchanges of experiences by the mobility of European professionals from the world of photography and image, - promote the movement of cultural works by giving access to projects from other European countries to the widest possible public, - promote intercultural dialogue

Circulation(s) is an annual event which will take place in Paris every year in March.
