The IUM teaching philosophy is based on three highly effective learning principles.
A first-class curriculum
Small class size
We strive for the tenets of sound scholarship, academic honesty, and the presentation of a comprehensive level of subject matter in innovative ways.
Student diversity
At IUM we have a highly demanding and academically rigorous teaching style, but we also demand active learning by encouraging class participation from the students. This approach contributes to make the University a place of intellectual and practical exchanges of the highest level.
We maintain a highly personalized teaching environment by restricting the number of students in each class, which allows for personal attention and interaction with the professor. We create and encourage a culturally diverse student body that is sensitive to, and appreciative of, cultural differences.

Jacek Maslak, MFIN 2008 Financial Analyst at Knight Vinke
“In addition to the tremendous theoretical knowledge base gained, our professors always made sure that we learned how to independently apply this knowledge during complex projects performed under time constraints. Such exercises were a tremendously important preparation for what I was faced with during my first job experience in the financial sector. What I found unique about the MFIN program at IUM is the result of finding yourself in a new and exciting place with a small group of like-minded but very unique and diverse individuals who are trying to get through the year together. Combined with a very demanding program this situation created an immense bond of friendship within the group, which I found to be one of the most valuable and motivating aspects of my studies at IUM. Currently I’m working as a financial analyst at Knight Vinke, an activist asset manager investing in underperforming public large cap companies.”
