Inspiring the Global Generation
Why a Master in International Business at IUM? The Master in International Business (MIB) has been developed in response to the critical need to educate and prepare pragmatic, compassionate, and professionally adept international citizens. The MIB seeks to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge to succeed in an increasingly fast-paced, highly competitive and complex world. It opens the way to two different specialization areas: one which deals with international trade issues and the other which concerns global affairs. This program attracts students with very different backgrounds: business, political science, history, economics, etc. which turns the classroom into a very enriching place.

The program emphasizes a rich, pragmatic educational experience covering a range of disciplines taught by renowned faculty and practitioners. Graduates will possess the knowledge and tools they will need to pursue careers in international business, international organizations, NGOs, and diplomatic affairs. It is a unique opportunity and an enriching experience for students who wish to stand out as multicultural graduates, in the field that they have chosen: trade or global affairs.” Dr. Marie-José RINALDI-LARRIBE, Program Director
Program description Students choose one of the two specialization areas, completing their curriculum in international business, with an extensive exposure to international trade matters or to global policy developments. Students undertake the “International trade specialization”, which allows them to acquire the knowledge of foreign markets and techniques of international trade. The objective is to enable future managers to access new markets which are growing very fast, while dealing with complex issues, in very diverse multicultural environments. This pathway prepares graduates for careers in export management, international purchasing, business development management, etc.
Students may choose the “Global Affairs specialization”, which integrates study in international policy in the context of the 21st century global setting. This interdisciplinary approach ensures a thorough preparation of graduates to world affairs, across a broad range of disciplines. Due to the nature of its curriculum, which corresponds to corporate issues and offers an in-depth knowledge on global policy development, the Master in International Business/Global Affairs prepares graduates for careers in international business as well as in international organizations, governmental agencies, nongovernmental organizations and foreign affairs agencies.

Vlada Botanovic, MIBGA 2010 Area Sales Manager at GEOX “It was a fantastic experience to be part of such an International environment and to be able to share experiences with students coming from all over the globe. One of my best memories at IUM was the time spent with my team mates during group exercises as I learnt a lot on how to cope with various personalities and conflicts of interest in order to find compromise solutions in the end. I learned much about how businesses developed internationally, how multinational organizations operate, how to best apply efficient decision-making processes and all this while further developing my interpersonal skills. While studying I have surely made best use of the Monaco business environment and rich nightlife to make new friends, future business contacts that are surely going to be useful sometime in the future. Not to mention the fun I had while playing waterpolo for the local team. The skills I learned at IUM are certainly becoming more useful now speaking from a professional point of view as an Area Sales Manager for GEOX with 8 countries in Eastern Europe under my responsibility. All in all IUM was a great launching ramp for my career definitely and I thank all the teachers and staff for their support, especially my program director Mrs. Rinaldi and the career office“
