VIVALDI AND PIAZOLLA`S FOUR SEASONS
Vivaldi and Piazzolla were two of the greatest composers of their time. Both wrote works depicting the seasons in the place where they lived, Italy and Argentina, respectively. Vivaldi wrote four violin concertos between 1720 and 1725, while Piazzolla wrote four tangos in 1969.
Kinder 2 learned about these two musicians and the four seasons. We heard their songs and created pieces of artwork based on what they could feel while they were listening to them.

MYTHS AND LEGENDS RELATED TO SEASONS
Every culture around the world has its own mythology and legends. There are centuries of human history that used these beings to represent what was over, under, or among us. Teens 1 worked with some of the most fascinating beings from very different cultures and explained us how they are described and what they represent.

Boreas is from the greek mythology. He has wings, he has dark curly hair and a very dark beard. He wears sandals with some wings in them, a golden toga, and a crown of leaves. He represents the Anemoi (a group of gods of
the wind that were represented by the cardinal points), the winter north wind, the dramatic change of winter and the chilling effects that accompanied it. He was also depicted in the form of horse and his character is violent and strong, just like the wind is.
Demeter mythology:
The myth of Demeter tells us about a mother goddess to whom the most important thing is her own children. She protects the cycles of life and food, and is represented in agriculture and the fertility of the earth.
She is represented as a soberly beautiful woman
crowned with spikes. She has a torch in her rigth hand and a bundle of spikes in her left one.
She is daughter of Cronos and Rea, sister of Zeus, of Poseidon, of Hades, of Hera and sister of Hestia. Demeter is the mother of Persephone and of Yaco (the children of Zeus too), who died for a lighting of Zeus.

He is a happy and compassionate god. But one day the god of the sun Tonatiuth decided something for each god to be sacrificed in his name. Itztlacoliuhqui was angry at such demand because his compassionate character could not bear such
a drastic request, that´s why he climbed to the top of a mountain where he tried to hurt the sun itself by shooting an arrow at it, to only unleash the fury of Tonatiuh. Tonatiuh with all power, decided to punish his insolence by sending his arrow back. Seriously injuring him in the head. Drastically changing the god´s personality.

She is Amaterasu, the glorious goddess of the Sun and Queen over the sky. She belongs to the Japanese mythology
She is a pretty woman, with dark hair and a yellow dress. She has the sharpest katana ever seen. One day, Amaterasu hid in a cave and the world went dark, until the other gods performed a ceremony to restore the sunlight. She is represented
by the brightest day of summer. Every beginning of the summer, there is a party in Japan in her name. She is the mother of the empire and mother of all the emperors.
Skadi is a goddess of the Norse mythology
She is a Winter goddess and bow huntress. She was daughter of the giant Þjazi. He was murdered by Æsir. So Skadi went to Asgard in looking for revenge.
Skadi found Odin, who offered her to put the eyes of Þjazi as stars and to marry a god. The only condition is that she needs to choose a partner only by looking their feet.
She chose Njörðr, a sea god. But Skadi married with Ullr, the ice god.
Skadi’s father was murdered by Loki. She got revenge by killing him.
Description:

Echo and Narcissus
Introduction:
This myth tells about a boy called Narcissus. He was the most beautiful person in the world but he wasn’t interested in women, he was interested in himself. He bullied women because they weren’t as pretty as him but the god of revenge killed him for what he did to women and Eco.
This myth Is connected by the seasons because the nynph like “Eco” (the nymth of this myth) are very related to the summer and the spring. Also, this is the story of how one of the most beautiful flowers was born, the narcissus
Development of the history:
This myth tells about a handsome boy called Narcissus that couldn’t see himself in a mirror because the oracle told Narcissus’ mother that if he saw himself in a mirror he would die, so his mom didn’t let him look into a mirror. When Narcissus grew up he was the prettiest person in the world so women want to stay with him but he was to narcissistic and cruel with them so he made jokes of their appearance because they weren’t pretty like him. One day when Narcissus was in the forest he met a nymph called Echo, she felt in love with him but Narcissus bullied her and she went crying into a cave and she became an spectrum that repeats everything that people says. Then, the goddess of revenge, Nemesis, appeared. Echo said what happened and Nemesis wanted to take revenge for her. One day when Narcissus was hunting, a salvage animal appeared. It was a transformation of Nemesis. Narcissus followed her but he found a fountain and he saw himself there. He spent there by
the reflection of himself that the fountain produced. He was dying slowly because he didn’t eat. When Narcissus died, the nymphs tried to find his body, but they only found a beautiful flower, they called it Narcissus.
Conclusion
The morale of this story is that you must have self love but not to become egocentric because you can become narcissistic, arrogant and cruel like Narcissus was with people.

Introduction:
This myth explains the origin of the seasons when Demeter was sad because her daughter was with Pluto, the earth was freezing in those 6 months but when Proserpine was 6 months with her mother, she was happy, and the earth had a lot of flowers. This myth starts saying that Pluto fell in love with his niece, Proserpine, and then Pluto Kidnaped Proserpine. Demeter, her mother, was depressed and stopped taking care of earth and because of that the earth became cold and it was dying slowly. Jupiter had to do something so he told Pluto to make a deal where Proserpine can stay 6 months with Pluto and 6 months with Demeter
Venus, the goddess of love, wanted Pluto to fall in love with someone so she told the plan to her son, Cupid. He threw an arrow to Pluto and the he felt in love whit his niece, Proserpine, the daughter of Demeter and goddes of flowers. Then he rapted her and made her the queen of the Underworld. When Demeter noticed that Proserpine wasn’t with her she was depressed and the planet started to die slowly because the planet is conected with the feelings of Demeter. When Jupiter noticed that the earth, plants, animals, and people were dying he told Pluto and forced him to return Proserpine with her mom. He gave Proserpine seeds for the journey. When she was back with Demeter, she asked her daughter if she ate something in the underworld and she said yes. Jupiter in his deal
Development of the history: Conclusion
with Pluto said that if Proserpine ate something in the Underworld, she would have to stay with Pluto 6 months of the year.
This myth ends with Demeter being happy 6 months with her daughter, and 6 months being sad because Proserpine has to be the queen of Underworld.
This myth explains the seasons because when Proserpine was with her mother, Demeter was happy and explains the origin of the Spring and Summer but when Proserpine was with Pluto her mother was depressed so she created accidentally Autumn and Winter.
The moral of this story is that you can’t force someone to stay with you because you need the consent of the person, and that person can’t stay with you every moment because it has a life too and she decides what to do.

Ragnarök
WINTER SUMMER
The Ragnarök is the judgement of the powers and the end of the Nordic world. It is a frightening winter that lasts three long years at the tune of the trumpeting angels of the text of San Juan. One is the hysterical rooster and the other two are the roosters of Hell. The chained black beast of ferir, a gigantic wolf, becomes deaf and finds the strength he lacked to break the chains that held him. Fenrir and his children chases the Moon and the Sun until they get to eat these celestial bodies. From the top to the roots of the world tree, you can feel it convulse in front of the horrible Loki, the god of trickery. His daughter, Hell, agrees to become the pilot of the Drakkar, where death resides and where hordes of criminals are inside it. She plays and important role in this final, because Ragnarök will be unleashed precisely when the Drakkar begins to wilt, not before, so the end of the world depends, deep down, on humanity itself.
The American natives, they have 2 brothers that play with the seasons, Nipinoukhe that changes stations to summer and Piponoukhe that changes seasons to winter.
In Greece mythology, we have Theros, his name means summer. His sisters are the spring, winter and autumn.
In Celtic mythology, we have Dana, god of the summer, she dresses red clothes and she is considered the god of the success.
In Japanese mythology they do a ritual to welcome summer.
In Nordic mythology they have Frey, god of the rain, sun and harvests. he has the Summarbrander, “the summer sword” and he marries with Geror.

Bee Movie
Have you ever imagine how life would be if bees stopped existing or working? Bee movie is about what life is like for bees, showing us all the work, they do and all the processes to make honey in a caricatured way
In this story we see the life of Barry Benson, a common bee who is about to start his working life. He and his friend Adam are very excited to see what kind of job they are going to have. In the case of the protagonist Barry doesn’t like the way of work, since a bee has to do the same work throughout its entire life, so he wants to find a way of life with the characteristics he is looking for,
more specifically a job with which he could travel around the world. When this work starts, he meets a kind human and they have a great friendship, so much so that when the protagonist finds out that the honey, they produce is sold without giving them credit, he looks for a way to fight against it, but he does not think about the consequences on the environment.
And then they end with a reflection on what would happen if the bees stopped producing honey, what consequences this brings to the environment and above all this is closely related to the time of the film, which is spring.

Meanwhile, their platypus Perry is a secret agent with Heinz Doofenshmirtz as his biggest enemy. Perry has a lot of hiding places to go to fight with Doofenshmirtz who creates a lot of inventions to do evil; for example, one day he creates the Copy and Paste-inator, which crea-
tes copies of himself to do all of his waiting and queues for him. The biggest dream of Doof was to dominate the Tri-State Area, the name of the metropolitan area surrounding Danville (place where the series happens).
PHINEAS AND FERB
What would you do if you and your half-brother were on summer holidays? Think about it for a few minutes.
Well, you didn’t think of creating a roller coaster or building your own restaurant, right? Phineas and Ferb, from the cartoon Phineas & Ferb, spent their free time on creating new inventions with their friends for 7 years. However, it was not easy because their sister Candace is always trying to show their mother the inventions so she can bust them, but she never achieves it.
The last day of the summer, most of the characters meet and remember their summer holidays adventures. Then, all the characters went into Phineas and Ferb’s house but Phineas broke the fourth wall and said goodbye to the spectators. Finally he closed the door to mark the end of the series.

HOCUS POCUS
Have you ever freed a witch by accident? Well, Max, a teenager who went to live in a new city with a rather unrealistic legend, freed not only one but three Salem witches who had been there for 300 years.
This story began in Salem where a young man woke up upset to see that his sister Emily disappeared. Then he saw her running towards a witch hut and went desperately behind her. When he arrived, he observed three witch sisters and hid while the eldest witch named Winnifred talked with her magic book to prepare a spell with her sister Mary.
The young man infiltrated the house and saw when they finished the potion with which they would try to absorb Emily’s youth so that they could recover theirs. Just as they were going to give it to her, the young man got in the way to defended his little sister and spilled the potion on the witches Sarah and Mary, but Winnifred stopped him with her superpowers and then they could finish with the ritual. The witches joined their hands, and they aspired Emily’s soul until they became young, then Emily died. Later, the witches find a punishment for Binx for attacking them. They did a spell that last forever turned him into a cat.
After that, many people waited for them to kill them but before they did one last spell they did say that they would come back if a virgin turn on the black fire candle on halloween. 300 years later one teacher told the story to her students adding that the Binx cat promised to take care of the witches’ house to make sure that no one lit the candle on halloween but the
new student Max said that all of the story was false. Her classmate Allison said to him that on Halloween the spirit of the dead can revive. Max liked the girl so he gave her his number, but she rejected it. When he got home his sister asked him to get candy, but he refused until his parents forced him because they had to go to a party. When they went through the streets, they entered a house where there was a party at Allison’s house. His sister knew that Allison is the girl who his brother liked. Max started talking about the story of the witches and said that they should go to the cabin where the witches lived but his sister got scared and said she didn’t want to.
Max promised to Dani (his sister) that he would take her to halloween next year so Dani accepted. When they arrived, Max found a lighter and began to explore the witches’ house while a black cat watched them. Allison found the book and Max found the black fire candle. When he was going to turn it on, the cat attacked him. Max turned on the candle anyway so the floor shook and the witches appeared and they wanted the souls of the kids to become young yet. Winnifred took the book and Mary said she smells kids, so they found Dani.
Max and Allison attacked the witches and the cat helped them. When they managed to escape, the cat went with them and showed
them that he could talk. He asked them to take the spell book and took them to a cemetery because witches can’t get in. There was the grave of Billy who was Winnifred’s ex-boyfriend but she put a spell on him and she sewed his mouth so he couldn’t speak because he had cheated on her with Sarah. The witches came flying to the cemetery to get the book back and make the potion to absorb the souls of the children and stay alive.
The witches couldn’t get the book, so Winnifred revived Billy as a zombie to bring them. Meanwhile the witches went to the city to search for children and try to adapt to the 20th century. The witches arrived at the house of a man, believing that he was “the teacher” but then when the man’s wife found Sarah dancing with her husband, she scared them with a dog, and they left.
Allison, Max, and Dani found their parents at a Halloween party where Winnifred charms the party into dancing and singing after performing an alternate version of “I Put a Spell on You”. They decided to go to school and there they trapped the witches in a furnace to burn them alive. When they celebrated thinking the witches have been killed, the witches revive, and kidnaped Dani and Binx after Max and Allison opened the spell book. Later Sarah used her
siren voice to hypnotise and attract the Salem’s children to the cabin. Max and Allison rescued Dani and Binx with Max’s dad truck, tricking the witches into thinking that the sunrise was an hour earlier. They also went for them and also to get revenge on Dani for calling her “horrible”. Back at the cemetery, Max ran into Bill who took Max’s razor to cut his sewn up mouth and then insulted Winnifred and joined Max to protect Dani.
The witch threatened to take Dani’s life with the little potion they had been able to save after Max had thrown it all away but Binx jumped at Winnifred’s face and made the potion fall to the ground. Max takes the potion and drinks it so the witches can’t use it.
When the sun rose, the witches turned into stones and turned to ashes. Then Binx gets out of the curse and finally frees his soul to go with his sister while the zombie billy returns to his grave torest. Valentina Rueda

BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Beach volleyball is a variant of volleyball. It is usually played more in summer and practised outdoors in a somewhat informal way. It is a group sport, two teams of two people each. Beach volleyball is practised in Argentina and we even have a national team and athletes who went to the Olympics.
I was never able to play it, but I played regular volleyball. I sometimes practice it on a court with my friends. It is one of the funniest sports in my opinion.

SNOWKITE
Snowkite is an acrobatic sport. This sport is usually practised in winter season in San Martin de Los Andes and Caviahue: Neuquén province, Patagonia.
Cavihue is located at 1600 meters above sea level, in a narrow valley west of the Los Andes Mountains and south of Copahue Volcano. There, in the winter season, was made the Argentine Snowkite Championship in 2015.
I wouldn’t like to practise that sport because I don´t have the courage.

It’s practised in Argentina and in the rest of the world, for example, in the USA, Europe and some more.
Also, there is ice hockey but not in Argentina. There are championships, for example the World cup. It’s played in the Olympics.
I played hockey for seven years. I played in Brandsen in Athletic and Progress Club. I started to play it when I was twelve years old and I stopped playing hockey because of my university studies. However, I never stopped training.
I suggest going for a run, walk, dance, whatever you like.

Write a paragraph about summer or winter sports
Escribir un párrafo sobre deportes de verano e invierno
Introduction:
Have you ever tried to do a sport?... But have you ever noticed the idea that we have summer and winter sports? In this opportunity with our 2nd-year student, we describe a favourite sport, the necessary tools to carry it out, what kind of sport it is, summer or winter, if it can be carried out in our country or where. Lastly, her experience with it.
The sport that I like most is tennis. It can be played individually and double (as a couple) its main tools are a pair of rackets, a ball and the net located in the centre. The players are positioned facing their opponent on each side of the net.
It is one of the main sports practised in Argentina, which has won five Olympic medals (two silver and three bronze). The men’s team won the 2016 Davis Cup and reached second place four times.
Some of the competitions that can be played in the country are the Buenos Aires Tournament and The Cordoba Open, which make up the group of ATP Tour 250 tournaments (a series of official men’s tennis tournaments). It is also practised in other parts of the world, for example in USA and France. I have never played ten-
nis but I think It is a very interesting sport that requires a lot of perseverance, so I would like to try it and also because you can practise it in summer and I like summer. it is my favourite season.

Did you see the movie “Cool Runnings”?
It is a true story in 1980 about how Jamaica participated in the Winter Olympics in the sport BOBSLEIGH.
This sport is played in snow trails with a sled and four competitors.
It is a race to see who makes the best time.
Its origins are in the 19th century, in Switzerland. The first Bobsleigh Club was founded in 1897, in St Moritz, a Swiss region. At first, the sleds were made of wood. Nowadays the sleds are very aerodynamic pieces of metal.
The key to succeed is to have a great start. The start is when the competitors push the sled until it is close to the downhill of the track. If you have a great start, you are mostly sure you will win.
It is not a sport that is practiced in Argentina but it is normally practiced in the north of the USA, Canada and Northern Europe. In our opinion, we would like to play this sport for the adrenaline and the experience to do something new.

BARILOCHE: THE SOUTH AMERICAN SWITZERLAND
THE FOUR SEASONS IN JEJU ISLAND.
The most beautiful place that I know in the four seasons is Bariloche, in Río Negro, Argentina.
The first time I visited it was in WINTER, when I was 18 years old. I traveled there when I graduated and shared this trip with my highschool partners. It was an amazingly long party!! We couldn’t sleep for days. We danced, played in the snow and visited different attractions.
I did the second visit with my cousin, in SPRING. I was 21 years old. We traveled alone, but we met other people and we did different activities. Some of them were a catamaran trip, a city tour on a bus and we rented a car for a few days to visit the other cities near there.
When I was 30 years old, I was already married and I worked in a car company that gave me a gift to travel to Bariloche again. This time was in SUMMER and the best of all, we stayed in the Llao Llao hotel, the most beautiful hotel in the city. Again, we enjoyed the city attractions, but this time we really enjoyed the Llao llao facilities. Its pool next to the lake was really wonderful.
The last time that I could travel to Bariloche was in AUTUMN. This time I was 35 years old and I traveled with my family and I found a different city from the other times.
Finally, I can’t say which is the best season in this city. All my trips were beautiful and different at the same time.

Jeju island is the biggest island in South Korea located in Jeju province. The island was made up of a submarine volcano eruption approximately 2 millions years ago. It is an area declared a world heritage site and is the only province in South Korea which is directed by residents of the continent instead of politics. It’s best known as Hawaii of Korea, situated in the south part of Korea and surrounded by the sea and a beautiful touristic island with wonderful nature which it’s a valued place for Koreans and foreigners. It is also the best place for Korean
married couples on their honeymoon.
AUTUMN:
(september-november) It’s a beautiful moment to visit this place because the temperatures are soft and there isn’t much rain. You can visit the woods, valleys, mountains and volcanic cones. Also, you may consider an economic bus ride across the island.
88 89
WINTER:
(december-march) The weather is cold and dry. You can go sightseeing to the higher Hallasan mountain to enjoy the view and see the lake of the mountain crater when you are standing on the peak. It can snow in Jeju, so it could be difficult to visit some local attractions.
SPRING:
(april-june) A nice weather with frequently sunny days and blue skies of warm temperatures as far as 20°C. It’s a great season to go sightseeing, especially to see some cherry blossoms and marvelous landscapes.
SUMMER:
(june-august) The summertime is in full swing, all the beaches are open for swimming and you can join in activities like windsurfing, climbing and snorkeling. Finally at the end of the day, relaxing on the beach and seeing the sunset.
By Daniela Bustamante
In Autumn:
In this season the trees turn yellow and the temperature is cold.
It is a perfect season to delight wines, eat local food and walk through the city center.
MENDOZA
It is a touristy city in the west of Argentina. It is very popular in all seasons and it has a Lot of local attractions and extraordinary food. The main attractions are the healing hot springs. Also, there are beautiful mountains, in which we can do several activities like footing, skiing, snowboarding , canvas and many others.
Here, there are two options: Mendoza City: it is beautiful, interesting but crowded. The natural places are relaxing and amazing.
By Johanna Carrarini
In Summer:
Mendoza has sunny and hot days. Rains are
scarce. It dawns early and gets dark late. It is a perfect season for snorkelling, kayaking, trekking and rafting.
There are lagoons, rivers and beaches to enjoy.
In Spring:
Mendoza is full of colors.
The days are warm and very sunny. It is great for kayaking, walking and to visit the hot springs.
And if you want to save money, this is the cheapest season of all.
In Winter:
Mendoza’s winter is very fun because the temperature gets very cold so there are snowy mountains which invite you to do sports like snowboarding.
Conclusion:
I think the best season is Summer, because I love rafting and swimming. But, the cheapest season is Spring, also it has nice weather. Winter is colder than autumn, but it is more funnier.

SANTA TERESITA
Santa Teresita is an Argentine tourist city, in the district of La Costa, province of Buenos Aires. The town was born and grew with a tourist purpose around the temperate oceanic climate and its beaches. It is smaller than Mar del Plata. In this cityyou can enjoythe sea, the sand, practice sports such as kitesurfing or surfing, walk through its green spaces, shop in the center, or enjoy the local attractions. You can hire a car for a day or week and sightsee beautiful places.
In winter it is a cold city, but it has some attractions to do with the family. There are cinemas, theatres
and several places to have a warm snack. In autumn and spring you can go to drink mate on the beach or on the waterfront. You can go camping to Estancia El Carmen. There, people are really polite.
Summer is the best season to enjoy the beaches and sunbathe, although there are several tourists, congested streets and pollution. In this city you can have a relaxing vacation.

mountain places to visit.
The camp has different areas. You can find everything you need. Each camp has a “Refugio”; if you want you can go in a tent or sleep in the “Refugio”. It has many lakes surrounded by mountains and forests, all the mountains have glaciers. If you walk for some time, you’ll reach just one side of the hill where you can border a glacier. And if you continue walking for a few more hours you’ll reach “Glaciar Grey”. Finally, you’ll meet the lake “Lago Grey”. In that place, you have the Grey camp on the shore of the lake. You can see the icebergs very close to it, and in some areas, you can find the beach covered with some ice.
The park also has two classic circuits, one is called “W” and the other is called “O”. The first is the most common. The one that most people do. It goes through the best-known places in the area: the “Cuerno del Paine”, the “Paine Central”, “The Torres del Paine” and a few lakes. I went through the “O” circuit, it’s about 100 km. It’s called “O” because it starts and ends in the same place. The place is amazing. It is prepared mainly for trekking and rock climbing. it is also practised as in ice.
The climate in this place is like the one in Patagonia. it’s mainly cold and very windy, but when we move away from the glaciers it becomes warmer. In the mountainous area, it often rains or snows, but in the “Patagonian Steppe” rarely rains.
I have been to “Torres del Paine” several times and I never get tired of it. I always want to go back because is a unique place. I love the mountains, the fauna, the colours, the forests and there are always different places to visit. My advice is to make reservations in advance because lots of people want to have this incredible experience.

FROZEN
Frozen is a Disney animation film released on 2nd January 2014. This film originates from a novel called “The Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Andersen. It was directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee and dubbed by Romina Marroquín Payró(Anna), Carmen Sarahí(Elsa), José Gilberto Vilchis(Kristoff) And David Filio(Olaf). This film is about a young princess(Anna) who sets out with a mountaineer(Kristoff) to find her sister(Elsa), whose icy powers have caught her
kingdom in eternal winter.
I really liked it! Because the songs are really catchy and have a fresh comedy in the animation. The plot is super interesting, they executed it very well and we can relate to all the characters in the film.
The film happens in winter due to Elsa’s powers. Her sister, Anna, goes on a fun and difficult adventure to find her and stop the eternal winter in their kingdom.

GRAVITY FALLS
By Antonella Lorenzo
Gravity Falls is a Disney series released in 2012. It’s a mystery, action, comedy and animated series. It was created by Alex Hirsch and directed by John Aoshima, Aaron Springer, Joe Pitt, Rob Renzetti, Matt Braly, Stephen Sandoval, Sunil Hall and Alonso Ramírez Ramos. The voice actors are Jason Ritter (As Dipper Pines), Kristen Schaal (As Mabel Pines), Alex Hirsch (As Stanley “Stan” Pines) and J. K. Simmons (As Stanford “Ford” Pines).
The series follows the adventures of a pair of twins, Dipper and Mabel Pines. Their parents send them to a town called Gravity Falls, in Oregon. The twins spend every day with their uncle, ‘Grunkle’ Stan, a very swindling man. Then, they discover that the town is the place where a lot of paranormal incidents happen and horrible creatures live.
This series presents a lot of incredible things. Like the fears and passions of various characters, it is a pretty good comedy, and it knows how to present mystery and suspense very well. You can feel how scared the characters are and can relate so easily to them.
All episodes happen in the summer. Dipper and Mabel were sent to Gravity Falls to spend their summer there.
Personally, I really like this series. The intro’s music’s so good and the characters are like real humans, with real feelings and problems. Also, the backgrounds are really interesting and detailed. The comedy’s really nice if you like animated comedy series.
If you like children’s series with a deep story, you’ll love Gravity Falls. I recommend it so much.

Kevin’s family is on vacation and that’s why he is home alone. The boy has to confront two thieves to defend his house, Harry and Marv.
The movie is set in Winter, at Christmas. Therefore, his family was going to France to celebrate Christmas but they forgot Kevin at home. This movie marked my childhood, today I still watch it and I think it is amazing. The actors are perfect and the film is really funny. You can’t miss it!

Fashion is a controversial topic when thinking of it as art. You may consider it art or not, but if there is something undeniable is that it transforms our life and how we see each other. For a reason to not be repetitive and confusing at the same time, I see myself in the obligation of explaining that the word vogue can be used as a synonym for fashion; and the meaning of haute couture is expensive clothes made with a more avant-garde perspective. Leaving explanations aside, let me introduce you to the work of Emma, who has chosen two quite relevant runways to analyze.
How clothing was a signature of evolution and how it was a tool to protect ourselves from the weather. The concept of clothing mutated through time. At first, it was a tool, but gradually it became a symbol. Initially, it was referred mainly to status, but as time passed, people saw clothing as a form of expression.
Coco Chanel was one of the most influential designers of the 20th Century. She meant the revolution for the fashion world of her time. Her darkest side was being associated with a nazi. However, what are we here for? We are not here to mess around with the past, we are here to analyze the present. In 2019 the house of Chanel presented the spring-summer ‘Ready to wear’’ collection. The runway was a false beach located inside a studio. The main topic of the runway is a retro-athleisure look combined with the rush of summer wind, that fresh wind you feel near the beach. All of these, are processed through the positive perspective of a young girl, playing with her 80’s mother’s clo-
The outfits show us the fresh colors of the spring-summer season, playing with the texture and the silhouettes to remind us of the 80s and 90s of a carefree French girl wearing the distinctive Chanel look. These designs are ‘ready to wear, making them chic-er, ready to enter the market.
As we see, clothing can transmit sensations and feelings like any other piece of art. But in the fashion world, some collections were made especially to convey messages and not to be on the rack of your wardrobe. This is the case of Alexander Mcqueen. He was an English fashion designer who was head of the Louis Vuitton Givenchy fashion line, before starting his own
brand. He is well known for his eccentric designs and deep messages. His most controversial runway of this much controversial artist was Highland Rape, inspired by the hypothetical (and not so hypothetical) England’s rape of Scotland, but public opinion interpreted it as a romanticization of the rape of women.
This collection for Autumn/Winter 1995-1996 is widely regarded as the collection that brought McQueen international fame. The collection alludes to the Jacobite Rising of the 18th century and the expulsion from the Highlands in the 19th century.
104 105
We can see through the designs, the worn and torn fabrics, the prints and transparencies, or the lack of fabric, Mcqueen’s powerful message. This was a shock for the minimalism people were accustomed to in 1995.
Fashion has been with us since always. With time, clothing has become a part of our culture. In a world where how you look or what kinds of brands you wear can define your value as a person, fashion can also be the means to express how you feel, can be a form of protest or a form to make a minority visible through art. In
conclusion, vogue is another of the many ways we communicate with each other as humans, and I think is one of the most beautiful forms as we carry it with us, on us.

MY (EARLY) WINTER BREAK
In July of this year, I went to Misiones on a family vacation with my mother, my sister, my uncles and my cousins. We were relaxed because we had to be at the airport at noon, and we had enough time to sleep, eat, etc. The problem started the previous day, when my mother was doing the online check-in, so we didn’t have to do it at the airport. She found out that we had to be there at 5 AM. My mother immediately felt like she was under the weather, because all her plans were seven hours earlier now, but with my help we notified my uncles and our taxi driver. The next (early) morning, we
went to the airport and got on the plane. We noticed that two of us had to sit far away with another guy, who really tried to break the ice but made both of us feel a bit uncomfortable. We “fell asleep” so fast when the airplane took off. Even though we didn’t get along so well with our seatmate, hours passed quickly and we arrived at our destination. Compared to the cold in Buenos Aires, Misiones had warm temperature, so, when we went to the hotel, I immediately felt like a snug in a rug. The next days were incredible, I had one of the best trips of my life.

MY SUMMER HOLIDAYS
When the summer started I was very happy and as cool as a cucumber However, I was sad because I wouldn’t see my friends for some months but I was talking with a friend when school ended and he told me “ Hold your horses “ and I calmed down .
Some weeks later, I was in a park enjoying my holidays when I started to miss school but later, I came across with a friend . I talked to him about the holidays and school . Then, we played football.
While we were playing football with him, another friend turned up with his friends so we played a football match for one hour.Even though it was a good football match , I played badly . The match finally ended and I walked home very happy because the day had been awesome , I enjoyed my holidays . I missed my classmates , though .
I WAS 11
When I was 11 years old, in my school I had been chosen to carry the “bonaerense” flag . I was very happy because the headmaster of the school chose me. On the day of the ceremony , I was preparing myself with the correct clothes. Although I was nervous,I got on the stage. When they gave me the flag, I had to hold the flag on the floor . I had my head in the clouds because I was thinking about what the people there were thinking about me. Then the ceremony started and I was on cloud nine, I couldn’t believe that moment. While my friends and I were on the stage, we had to pick up the flags and put them on our legs. After that, I started to feel the flag heavy and my little arm couldn’t hold it for long. “Why nobody is helping me?” I wondered. In spite of the fact that I couldn’t hold it for long, a random teacher appeared on the stage to help me. At the end of the ceremony, I was feeling under the weather, which was very embarrassing. Then I got a trauma.
THE MAGAZINE
Well, to start with, the next story is related to my curiosity about movies, one in particular, “Alien”. Directed by Ridley Scott, this film is, for me, one of the most spectacular movies that I’ve seen.
Once, I was watching Alien vs Predator with my family, and the problem was that the Xenomorphs (Aliens) seemed to be very weak in front of the Predators. My family supported the Predator’s team, I supported the alien’s team, and I felt that my team was losing.
The Alien Saga as a protagonist, made xenomorphs look like creatures of great danger. It was a complete shock. However, maybe Predator is a great adversary, but as a solitary film, and characteristic features, I prefer Alien a hundred times. Maybe in the future, “every cloud has a silver lining”.
In the particular case of my father, he has been looking for new “strange” creatures movies, so, in that case, he was looking for a tiebreaker in this “invisible” fight between team Alien and Team Predator fans!
So, to be honest, I have a very cinephile family. Come rain or shine, I can say that the fact that we like the same theme makes me very happy, as right as Rain!
MY LAST HOLIDAYS
I’m going to tell you about one of my last holidays with my girlfriend and how we were on cloud nine because it was a new place for us.We spent our day in Uribelarrea, a small village in Buenos Aires and even though we had some issues, we had a beautiful day.
At first, we turned up at this village, everything was going in a good way, we were riding a bike. However, we saw a homeless puppy in the middle of a long street of soil.We tried to know who the puppy belonged to.
By Nicolas Galarza
By Facundo Fandiño
By Luca Giudice Soto
Then another puppy appeared and I saw the place that they belonged to , and there were five other puppies. Immediately my girlfriend made a storm in a teacup because she was desperate trying to find a solution .Then I talked her into starting walking to a park in the village because we were so far away and tried to find someone who could help us.
Luckily, when we arrived at the park, a girl saw the puppies and said that the puppies belong to her and she was trying to find someone who could adopt these puppies so that I was as right as rain because we didn’t know what to do with these dogs and we were feeling bad. Finally we finished our promenade and went home. I hope that the puppies have found a home<3.

THE LAST WAVE
Sol woke up at 5:30 in the morning, a normal time in Hawaii to go surfing. She had breakfast and went quickly to the sea to take advantage of the time, since a very important tournament was approaching.
She had just arrived at the beach, she grabbed his surfboard and got into the water, she was alone with his Moorish friend.
-” I’m going to vomit from my nerves”, Mora said - “Hold your horses”, Sol said After practicing, they were going to school when they met more friends to go.
At the end of the day, Sol and Mora went to the sea at night to relax since there were not going to be waves at night.
Sol was so scared that she thought about leaving everything because, a month ago, she had had
an encounter with a shark and that scared her a lot but Mora managed to talk her into continuing. The next day the meeting was at noon and everyone had been very nervous about this. Mora and Sol held hands before entering the water when sol said, “I’m getting cool feet,I can’t do this”
- “You can do what you want Sol”, said Mora Then, together, they entered the water. Although they were nervous, they went and they did it. Both managed to qualify for the regionals and when they came out of the water they both said: “it was great, We feel as cool as a cucumber”

ONE DAY OF MY LIFE
OLIVER
It was a really cold day at school with my friends. Thus, we hoped for an Indian summer. My best friend Gabriel told me about his English exam. “It was the most difficult exam that I have ever had”, he said. Immediately when he told me that, I asked “ But was it good?”. At that moment, I thought he was a very good student and I couldn’t believe he had failed the exam. “Yes, it was good but I know I can do it better, ” he said. After that, I came back home and I sent a message to Gabriel that said “If you aren’t doing anything, we can go to the park together” . I waited during the day for a fast response but he didn’t send it. I felt very lonely.
The next day, when I went to school I told Gabriel about the message .Even though, he had his head in the clouds at that moment, he confused me.
During the break, we could talk about the previous day he said “I didn’t answer to you because I slept all day, sorry” When he said that, I understood that he wasn’t mad at me. After school, we had a really good day in the park.

Cleveland is an important hospital of the United States. The Doctors were calm once in a blue Moon. Every day, they had patients with serious illnesses.
Peter and Julia were the best doctors in the hospital. They went to another hospital because they had patients. When Peter and Julia arrived, they saw a child, his name was Oliver. He had a terminal illness but Peter and Julia didn’t know it.
Peter started to do the medical exams to Oliver. After many hours, he saw the test results and detected hemorrhage and infections. Peter was worried and he told Julia the results. They didn’t know what to do, Oliver was feeling under the weather. If Peter and Julia didn’t hurry, Oliver could die.
Julia and Peter spent a lot of nights thinking what to do. They were looking for a treatment but they didn’t find it. Julia was very exhausted and she hit the sack. She dreamt about Oliver’s surgery. In the dream, they were operating the boy and all was well in the end. When Julia woke up, she told Peter about her dream. Peter said “We should try, we bend over backward”. The next day, they told Oliver their idea. They talked with Oliver’s family and they accepted. Oliver and Julia did the surgery, and all was well in the end like Julia’s dream.

became stronger and the young girl started to laugh. Some days after the sun was shining, it was the dog days of the summer, a trip of outsiders arrived, all of them were young people. They started to walk around the town, which was a beautiful place to go on holidays, but when they looked for some villagers, there were no people, only animals and flowers. Eldedville was empty. At one moment a woman heard a baby’s cry, it was a girl, she was at the doors of a church.
A narrative with idiomatic phrases about season and weather
Una narración con frases idiomáticas sobre la estación y el clima
Idiomatic phrases are a type of writing in which the meaning differs from what the phrase may apparently express; these phrases are key in defining the actual use of English. In this case, the narratives were the common thread of the idiomatic phrases about the weather and the stories of our 5th-year students.

ON THE UPSIDE- DOWN WORLD
FOREVER YOUNG
A young girl always seemed on cloud nine, something strange in Eldedville, a town where all the people were at least 60 years old and she was the only young person. The town was in the middle of nowhere, everything was frozen, and sometimes there was no food. That place received the last outsiders about five decades ago and they never came back to their houses, for the rest of the world everything that happens there is in the dark.
Her name is known only for the wind, and her age is only for her. Why she always seemed happy is a mystery, she probably had her head in the clouds, ignoring that a huge hurricane was really near. All the people were prepared in the church to receive it. That was the strongest building in the town, it always kept its glow, but those days were glowing quite hard, a shining light that came out from the red window in the front.
The heavens opened and the hurricane came, she was outside the church, her arms wide open, the people in the church were praying, and the whispers of their prey came into shouts. When the eye of the hurricane was centred in the church the lights of the window
It was January 21, 1997 when I was born in Uruguay. My mother always says one of the dog days of the summer. This story will be about my birthday. I have always celebrated my birthdays on the beach with my friends. Most of the time, we went to my house in the forest to have a good time, eating some pizza and drinking Margaritas. At night we used to make bonfires on the beach, sing songs and dance until we could see the sunrise.
In November, 2020 I decided to move to the upside down of the world, this is how I felt in this part of the world. Here my birthday is in the dead of the winter. The month before my birthday I started to feel so bad because it would be a totally different birthday. I had no friends or family on this side of the world. I was new here. I decided to be patient and to focus on the new life that I was beginning here. I had already spent Christmas and New Year alone. I was wondering where I would spend my birthday. And I started to think about going back to my house since I felt really sad.
One week before my birthday, I received a letter in my house. I thought “How strange! Who sends me correspondence?”. When I opened it, it was a letter from my mother with an address and two hotel nights for two people in Paris. I started to cry with happiness while I was calling her. But, no one answered. It was Saturday, a little later on the other side of the world. And Two hours later someone else rang the bell. I thought “Who is it now?”.When I opened the door it was my mother, she had come to spend a few weeks with me and we would go together to Paris to spend my birthday.

Not having a fixed structure, using your creativity and letting your feelings, emotions and ideas go out sounds cool but not easy. This was the challenge that students from Superior and First Certificate had to face this year. Writing about what comes to their minds but using all the tools that they have acquired throughout these years. Let it be !

WINTER Season writing
The found season
Somewhere, long ago, there were over the equator in the very middle of the Earth, two young sisters whose days were always sunny and shiny. Every day, whether Monday or Saturday, was always the same, with the thick humid air and blasting sun shining above. Some would say “what a wonderful place to be!”, but as the years went by, the girls grew older, and the seasons never changed, always sunny and shiny. Every day was bright and perfect like no other, even on those days that didn’t feel quite as bright inside, the sun stayed with its immaculate shining. For the girls, it seemed wrong to be gloomy on an oh-so-sunny day, long faces were misplaced under the cheerful weather as if the sun itself did not allow it. Disturbed and overwhelmed with the bottled emotions inside them, the sisters prayed and prayed every night for a change, just a rainy day or a little cloud below where they could rest and shelter from the blasting rays of the sun. And so, someone above heard their demands.
On one ordinary morning, the girls were shot awake by a blasting noise, as loud as an explosion. Once out of bed they saw through the window some light but not the sun, this time the sky was pitch black in the very early morning. The darkness was intermittently and briefly tainted with lighting strokes, some of which crashed
like waves upon the shore of the ground. Some minutes after the lighting had stopped a sepulchral silence, peaceful and ominous, engulfed them. Then, rain. At first slow and steady and then, quick and furious, heavy and erratic washing every corner, the droplets as cold as nothing they had ever felt before and so different from the days they knew. The girls felt more alive than ever, euphoric with this miracle, sudden tears blasted from them, uncontrollably not of sadness but pure joy.
Against what the sisters feared, the rainy and chilly weather didn’t leave as fast and magically as it had come but gave them three months to indulge in all those emotions the sun had shadowed, not guilty now for disrupting the sunny glee, but enchanted to match the messy and loud weather.
And so they began to enjoy even the sunny days with their bright rays outside, knowing that after that winter would come and let them rest cozy and warm, content to watch the rain through the window.

The first classification is between warm skin and cold skin.People with warm skin have a glow on their skin and it isn’t pale. When they got a tan, they immediately got a shiny brown colour.
On the other hand, people with cold skin never
get a tan immediately. At first, they get a red colour on their skin.Their skin is pale or olive and it doesn’t have any glow.
COLOUR ANALYSIS: THE FOUR SEASONS
The colorimetry theory organises people into four different seasons depending on the colour of their eyes, skin and hair. With this analysis, you can know which colours make you look better and which ones make you look tired and drained.
By Julieta Bertone
When you know which season you belong to,you can wear the correct colours that will make you look young and bright.
The first thing to take into account is to divide people into seasons according to the temperature of their skin.
Winter
Features: Winter people have light skin but dark hair and eyes. They should wear cold and saturated colours such as blue, green and violet.Black and white also make ¨winters¨ look good. All of these colours should be worn near their faces.
Winter palette. Silver jewellery.

Fall/Autumn
Features: People in this classification have warm skin, dark eyes and dark hair. Their skin glows. They should wear around their head, warm colours such as brown, yellow and camel. Gold coloured jewellery looks better on them.
Spring
Spring people have warm skin, light eyes and hair. They usually have green or blue eyes. But they can also have grey eyes.Colours that look better around their face are light warm colours as lilac, honey and butter. It is common to see on ¨springs¨ natural blushed cheeks.
Summer
Features: In this category, we find people with cold skin(light or olive),light eyes and hair. They look better wearing cold pastel colours such as light blue, lavender, watermelon-red and pastel pink. They usually have grey freckles.

SPRING HAS BEGUN
I woke up happily knowing a new season is starting, spring has begun and my allergies have already jumped
Months are gone the year is passing by but my emotions have transformed into watery eyes
Flowers and trees blooming Birds dance in the air what amazing is nature! to say achis anywhere
I opened the window to breath fresh air, what my nose didn’t know was there was pollen in the air
After all, spring has already begun there’s nothing we can do we have to face it, sniffle and sneeze while tissues are piling up
Nothing is forever, spring has begun time flies, but for now, vaccines and inhalers are capable of saving our lives.

Creative writing FOLLOWING THE SUMMER
I wouldn't prefer any single thing more than summer. The heat of the sun on my face, the slight breeze on my hair. I remember that afternoon perfectly as the best day of my life . I was sitting in my yard, admiring the last minutes of the sun a week or two before autumn started again. That was the day that I made the most important decision of my life . “What if I follow the summer?” I asked myself, so that is how I started travelling. I followed every place that had summer as a season .If the summer was nowhere to be found, I would just find the most similar place that I could. I had been everywhere, from the deserts of Africa to the jungles of Brazil and even the beaches of Cuba, but no matter where I was, if I started seeing leaves falling out of trees or people wearing jackets that meant that it was my time to go.
I didn't have any concrete reason for doing such an exhausting and expensive journey, I just felt that it was right, I felt alive. However, those days are sadly far-gone . I know my last days are ahead of me and I am,for the first time
in years, back in my own home. At least, I will come back here in summer. I´m too tired to follow the summer, but this time the summer will follow me, and I couldn’t be happier to leave this world in my own country, in my own home, in my own summer.

WHAT AUTUMN BRINGS TO PEOPLE IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE
Since a long time ago, people have known that autumn arrives and brings to people living in the Northern hemisphere, one of the most special dates of the year: Halloween. This event goes perfect with this season of the year. We can find the street very beautiful with the orange, yellow and brown of the leaves of the trees, and the colour of the pumpkins that you can see everywhere.
But it’s not just the way everything looks, it’s the atmosphere that you can see++, smell and feel in every place. People start this season watching and doing marathon of the scariest movies, going to buy costumes for specials parties, buying a bunch of sweets and chocolates to give to the little kids that go around with their “trick or treat”.Every house starts to be decorated in every space of it with terrifying things, and the scariest stories about Halloween start. One of the most fascinating things are the stories behind Halloween, just because everyone knows where and how it started, but there are a lot of different stories about what really
happened on October 31st. One of the stories says that Halloween is the only night when the dead come back to the Earth to be in the company of their family members. Others think that it’s just an excuse to eat sweets and get dressed with crazy costumes and others say that the witches are around kidnapping little kids. There is an immense variety of stories, but the most terrifying and crazy to me is the one in which spirits and dead people come back to Earth and mix with the people wearing costumes, so the reality is that you don’t know who the person behind the costume is, or if it is a costume or not.

THE FOUR SEASONS
About the painting:
These paintings are merely wounds and rainstorms of sensuous colours. Bloody spring, yellow-white summer, pink and olive autumn and pine winter blasted on a dreadful white.
The Four Seasons, a great and moving modern Masterpiece, was made possible by the American Fund for the Tate Gallery and which should become one of the Tate Modern Treasures.
I have chosen these paintings, which for me are the best representation about the four seasons. When I had to choose the paintings, I needed to connect with the colours and I always do it within the movement called Abstraction. In this case, it is about nature. It moved me, how the painter manages the viewer’s gaze to connect with the colours that represent Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer through the brush marks, textures, blasted and material loaded.
I hope that you guys like these paintings as much as I do.
