Bumper offer

Wiemann will debut 2025 collections and update existing ranges

Award-winning German bedroom manufacturer Wiemann is set to unveil ranges and updates at JFS.

‘We are looking forward to a bumper JFS with lots of new products across all price points. All our collections are high quality, stylish, contemporary and chic. They are practical and stunning, offering something to suit every size or type of bedroom. Wiemann is a tried, trusted and reliable brand, qualities that are so important in today’s climate and that we value highly,’ says Simon Hewitt, md of Litmus Furniture, Wiemann agent for the UK and Ireland.

‘Customers know our high standards across all our products and the new VIP ranges are no exception. We are looking forward to launching them on the UK market at the NEC. The show is promising to be something very special indeed,’ says Kai Schwenke, Wiemann export manager.

The incoming collections, on show in Hall 4, Stand C26, will complement Wiemann’s existing premium VIP ranges, including the bestselling, award-winning Monaco and Lagos and the latest addition, New York. Some build on design features found in these established designs and some are completely new.

‘As well as the beautiful new ranges, we have some finishes making their debut, which are sure to excite buyers. These include a matt foil for carcass and doors and a glass finish. Choosing different options on doors and carcasses can completely transform the look of a

range. Our designers have considered this carefully to ensure consumers can find the perfect match for their room, whatever its style or shape,’ says Schwenke.

‘Look out for updates to our popular, flexible Monaco system, the perfect choice for any room. Whether it’s a dressing room, master bedroom or loft conversion, Monaco is a perfect fit.’

Many of the new collections have already been launched in Europe, with prototypes seen at the MOW show in the late autumn. All were well received and, with minor tweaks, are now headed to Birmingham.

‘We have been successfully working with Wiemann for more than 20 years now and have always been impressed with the company’s dedication to

excellent design, quality and value. This is all backed up with our five-star customer support service, of which we are immensely proud. JFS gives us an opportunity to share our passion and pride in our products. We look forward to catching up with friends, new and existing. All are welcome on the Wiemann stand. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store for 2025,’ says Hewitt.

Wiemann also has two permanent UK showrooms, at Long Eaton, Derbyshire and Harlow, Essex. The Long Eaton showroom has just undergone an extensive refit. Appointments are always available at these venues by emailing enquiries@wiemannuk.co.uk

Delivering style, comfort and understandable shapes is key for Whitemeadow

Whitemeadow’s latest collection demonstrates a clear focus on bringing a sense of individuality to its designs whilst carefully maintaining commercial flair. Renowned for its considered approach, there’s a thought process behind every range featured at JFS.

From cosy family shapes to statement scroll arms, the key message is an impressive scope of manufacturing and design capabilities. Keen to deliver style, comfort and understandable shapes for today’s customer, Whitemeadow keeps its finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest interior trends. From the rise of warm colour palettes to the demand of modular living, the trendleading collection considers how customers are living in today’s world.

‘We’ve focused on curating ranges with clever pieces to offer a customisable nature. We’re picking up on the demand for versatility, whether that’s in the form of modular designs or neat footstool shapes that fit into U-shapes like a puzzle piece. Having the ability to utilise their space as much as possible, and the flexibility to rearrange their seating to suit different occasions is a great selling point for today’s customer,’ says Paul Ainley, Whitemeadow design director.

Bringing newness and reimagined icons to JFS, Whitemeadow is looking to refresh and inspire.

‘Aspen is a key launch that’s particularly exciting, drawing inspiration from modern interiors with a clean, minimal

design complete with a slim Oxford edge. There’s Rocco, the modular hero designed to meet the demands of the modern customer, complete with stainresistant fabric options. Whitemeadow icon Penthouse returns with a completely fresh take featuring a relaxed, warmtoned fabric story. Its commercial double chaise configuration and a new footstool that fits neatly in between create the perfect movie night solution,’ says Ainley.

‘Whether the sleek, minimalistic designs catch your eye or the statement scroll arms are what your display is calling out for, rest assured that Whitemeadow has something to offer. Combining

affordable quality with long-lasting appeal, there’s a clever knack for understandable style. Backed by three decades of industry knowledge and manufacturing expertise, we have worked consciously to offer our retail partners support to sell-through. From useful CGI cutout imagery to scroll-stopping lifestyle photography and professional swatch books, every touch point has been carefully considered to ensure a smooth end customer journey, along with quality product that our retail partners are proud to display,’ says Dan Oscroft, Whitemeadow sales and marketing director.

Fresh opportunity

Tap into growing demand for affordable, high-quality sleep products

As the UK’s mattress market continues to evolve, the rise of direct-to-consumer brands offers a fresh opportunity for retailers to tap into growing consumer demand for affordable, high-quality sleep products.

Known for its premium memory foam mattresses and a 365-night trial, Nectar Sleep has built a strong reputation and is expanding its footprint in the UK. For retailers, partnering with or stocking Nectar Sleep products presents a range of benefits that could boost sales, customer loyalty and brand reputation.

Nectar Sleep has earned its reputation by offering mattresses that blend comfort, support and value. Its products are designed to provide superior support through multiple layers of foam and spring combinations. What sets Nectar apart, however, is its customer-centric approach, particularly its 365-night trial period, which allows shoppers to return their mattress if it doesn’t meet expectations. This risk-free approach appeals to a wide range of consumers, including those who may be hesitant to invest in a higher-end mattress.

For retailers, carrying a trusted brand such as Nectar Sleep helps build consumer confidence. Shoppers are more likely to make a purchase when they recognise a reputable brand with transparent policies, and Nectar’s customer-first ethos has built a loyal following.

The company says it has three distinct benefits for retailers: increased

consumer traffic and sales; exclusive retail products and marketing support. With its established brand recognition, Nectar Sleep drives consumer interest. As more people look to upgrade their sleep experience, retailers stand to benefit from increased foot traffic and higher conversion rates. Retailers are offered exclusivity on the brand’s most premium mattress, allowing the opportunity to sell customers that are driven to stores options that are not available through Nectar Sleep’s website. Retailers can profit from higher margins typically associated with branded products while appealing to a broader range of customers.

The company invests heavily in digital marketing, creating targeted advertisements and campaigns to drive

awareness and sales. Retailers who partner with Nectar Sleep benefit from this robust marketing support, reducing need for individual advertising efforts.

With the UK’s mattress market becoming increasingly competitive, partnering with or stocking Nectar Sleep products gives retailers the chance to stand out by offering a high-quality, trusted brand that resonates with today’s sleep-conscious consumers. By tapping into Nectar’s strong reputation, competitive pricing and effective marketing, retailers can increase sales, improve customer satisfaction and position themselves as leaders in the growing sleep products market.

Nectar will be exhibiting on Hall 5, Stand C41 at the show.

Path to success

A change of direction is delivering for Shire Beds

Shire Beds is continuing on its growth journey. After deciding it needed a new direction, it focused on two aspects, own-brand and hand side-stitching, and transformed the business.

Shire set out to be the white label supplier of choice, offering high quality products, guaranteeing retailers’ margins and having a point of difference. This has led to almost 100 retailer partnerships with significant retailers in a short time scale.

To achieve this with its hand sidestitched products, Shire developed a recruitment and training programme and went from having one hand sidestitcher and producing an average of a dozen mattresses a week to almost 20 hand side-stitchers and producing more than 100 hand side-stitched mattresses a day.

Internum and Cool Nytz are Shire’s latest ranges. Internum has hidden tufts while offering the expected comfort and style, with pocket spring counts of up

to 7,000. The collection is designed to make the opulent hidden tuft and hand side-stitched mattress accessible to the wider consumer market. Cool Nytz is a traditional pocket sprung mattress, pillow top and box top mattress. The range has a cool-feel quilted knitted cover. Both ranges are offered with own branding options.

‘We have proven our ability to become the white label partner for a large number of quality retailers –90 and counting – and have firmly established ourselves as “The Brand Behind Your Brand” in under a year, aided by the huge sales of the original Capri and Ravello specifications, and we continue to innovate and expand our ranges,’ says Fara Butt, Shire director.

‘Capri has been recommended by Bed Industry Awards-winning retailer Dreamland Beds as its product of the year and it is now a bestseller for a large range of quality high-street retailers as well as being sold by the major online

ones. Retailers are so confident buying the products that they are prepared to put their brand on it.

‘Personalised in-store POS is available with most ranges. The own-branding ensures there is exclusivity in the market and allows the retailer the protection that makes products sustainable. Shire Beds is able to personalise most of the POS in-house, from brand creation to digitisation of the imagery to crafting the hand-stitched pillow cases, bolsters and footmats.

‘We offer a short and reliable delivery time of two weeks or less, so the retailer has confidence in ensuring their customer’s journey from order to usage is speedy. Furthermore, customers can rest assured as products come with an extended guarantee.

‘We have moved the dial on the traditional hand side-stitched market sector and have the right products at the right time at the right price.’ Email: info@shirebeds.co.uk

Stability

Nolte Möbel has navigated economic challenges

In a turbulent period for the German furniture industry Nolte Möbel has successfully navigated economic challenges since its parent company filed for insolvency in November 2023, ensuring stability and guaranteed deliveries to UK retailers over the past 12 months.

The insolvency highlighted the difficulties within the furniture manufacturing sector, as companies across Europe grapple with rising costs, supply chain disruptions and shifting consumer demand.

‘Amid this uncertainty the Nolte name continued to stand for reliability and resilience, with Nolte Möbel’s focus firmly on stability and consistent service, with orders delivered on time and in full, ensuring minimal disruption for customers; orders processed and confirmed on the same day, reflecting efficiency and responsiveness, and guaranteed deliveries as trust and dependability remain cornerstones of the company’s ethos. It is committed to being a “powerful, dependable and

predictable partner”, with the team fully dedicated to meeting customers’ needs,’ says Chris Fountain, Nolte Möbel UK & Ireland sales director.

The company’s latest bed system Sonyo 2.0 was debuted at the Brussels Furniture Fair in November, with incredibly positive feedback. The new Catania Oak finish was also on show

across the Horizont, Alegro and Sonyo 2.0 ranges and will be available to order from mid-February.

‘We look forward to meeting all of our retail partners at January Furniture Show where we will showcase our new collections and finishes. You can find us in Hall 4, Stand D34,’ says Fountain. Nolte, tel: 0161 767 244

Innovate and entice

Alpha Designs is seizing the opportunity to try new things

‘In turbulent and challenging times it can be tempting to batten down the hatches and play it safe at exhibitions, but we feel differently at Alpha Designs. Now is the time to innovate and entice. We love the January Furniture Show: it is our opportunity to try new things, be a little bit brave,’ says Nichola Bell, Alpha Designs sales director.

‘For those customers who do not already know Alpha Designs, we are a small family-run business based in the West Midlands. For more than 10 years we have been privileged to service some fantastic independent retailers with our “home-grown upholstery”. As members of the BFA we are proud to fly the flag for our country’s furniture industry, something that is just not celebrated enough.

‘So what will you see? We gently introduced our Go Configure range at the Manchester Furniture Show last July

and the take-up has been so good that we are really going for it at JFS with the introduction of new shapes, units and fabrics, all whilst keeping it simple. In addition to Go Configure we have four more new shapes, offering different comfort, scale and price points: a little bit for everyone. We have concentrated on livable scale, low-maintenance

comfort and fantastic fabrics, offering a little bit of luxury at an everyday price.

‘We would love for you to visit our stand, Hall 1, Stand C20, and let us talk you through our inspiration and designs and see where Alpha can fit into your stores. Turn left as you enter the Hall and we will be under our famous Neon sign.’ Alpha Designs, tel: 01902 492 937
