CARDIGAN STYLISTS OWN

Dear reader, This magazine sets out to convey the fun shared by the people behind the INTI label. It’s about the people who bring their love and the animals who bring their warmth to our pullovers, cardigans, scarves and knitted caps. Besides using striking pictures,we have chosen to convey this in English. This allows us to do justice to the cross-border and international character of our product range and customer base. It should be noted, however, that nothing beats the language of experience. This is why we have tried to make this magazine exude experience: that of the makers and the lovers of INTI knitwear. Enjoy reading it and enjoy wearing our products!

Allow us to introduce our contented suppliers. In the upper left corner there is the sheep we know in the West. In the right upper corner you can see a shorn South American llama, also known as a ‘sheep camel’. The bottom left corner features a guanaco, the largest of the two wild species of llama, while a baby alpaca is depicted at bottom right. Our suppliers calmly graze the tender grass at high altitudes and dip their toes in the mountain water while growing plump and round. Every year, these charming and friendly animals share their pelt with INTI. We are proud of this fruitful business relationship.

Mother Nature provides all the ingredients for INTI products. Her soil feeds and nourishes our suppliers. Her fruits provide the raw material for our products. Her beauty inspires our designs. And the richness of her colours challenges us to hunt out new hues every year. In other words, her warmth is what inspires our work. This is why we treat Mother Nature with respect. We use a sustainable, environmentally friendly production process that does no harm to the natural world. And we use as many natural materials as possible. 38

Fiesta Rosada From girlhood to womanhood at fifteen Fifteen-year old girls from Ecuador: sweet sixteen minus one. In South America, reaching the age of fifteen is a special milestone and provides occasion for an exuberant party. Everybody is invited, from villagers to schoolmates. There is music and food, from the break of day to the late hours of the night. Called the Quince, this celebration is a remnant of Spanish culture. In the old days, the Spanish presented fifteen-year old girls to the community as marriageable women. Today the Quince celebrates the fact that fifteen-year old girls have reached maturity.

“Knowing who has made them and their limited availability make the pullovers very special. I feel connected to your company.”

A warm gesture

INTI donates the remnants of past collections and serviceable items with minor defects in workmanship to the ‘Mens in Nood’ or ‘People in Need’ foundation, which helps people in disaster areas and war zones across the world. The charity distributes our pullovers, knitted caps and scarves in countries outside the EU. Through our sponsorship, we offer the foundation and the victims of war and natural disaster a warm gesture as well as a warm piece of clothing.

“Keep on making these beautiful items with the people in Latin America.” “I was stupid enough to miswash my red cardigan. I did wash at 0 degrees, but forgot to use the wool wash program. I dearly miss my cardigan. Do you have another just like the one I had? I have included a picture. A dumb question perhaps, but worth a try.”

Letters from customers

An Inti pullover is not just a sweater. It is the sum total of materials, manual labour and the triumph of freedom multiplied by alliance. The end result moulds itself to its owner’s identity. You feel comfortable with and in it, entirely unique. “It’s as warm as a blanket.” “Can’t do without it. I’m in terror whenever I can’t find it.” “I love it so much!! It’s very warm and cosy and has a truly beautiful design.” “Great concept: handmade, high quality and a personal touch!” “I’ve fallen in love with my pink cardigan.” 65
