LEAP–LEADERSHIP, EMPOWERMENT, ACHIEVEMENT, PERSISTENCE The LEAP program works closely with academic advisors and faculty to assist new students in developing a solid academic and social foundation. Participants learn to handle the demands and challenges of college life, make connections with staff and faculty, build positive relationships with other students and prepare for academic success at IRSC or transfer to a university upon graduation. MEN OF COLOR The Men of Color program provides an inclusive and supportive space where men of color, can receive academic support and mentoring, and have the opportunity to engage in social-cultural dialogue that enhances their understanding of self and their relationships to different communities. Students participate in a variety of activities such as workshops, community service projects, cultural events and program initiatives to build character and a sense of community. WOMEN OF COLOR The Women of Color program is where empowered women empower other women. The collaborative, campus-wide program assists any student who self-identifi es as a woman of color to make the most of leadership potential in the classroom and community. The program offers educational enrichment, life-skill training, personal development opportunities and other activities. Peers and mentors provide essential support that encourages successful growth and advancement at IRSC, and helps participants discover meaningful career options.
