WHERE DOES IT HURT? ishani jasmin

learning to face your aches, your pains and your itches

breathe into your pain. accept that it is there, even though it hurts. THIS IS HARD. IT WILL BETTER. IT WILL GET EASIER.

GET

concentrate on your pain and make sure you accept it. breathe.

if your pain is a monster, observe it. get to know it. learn what it likes for breakfast.

DO NOT FORGET TO BREATHE into your pain. accept this. it will be okay.

breathe into your pain.

ID point (connection to godhead)

soul seat (purpose point)

tan tien (energy centre)

earth

(future research point: barbara brennan)

the line that connects all these points is called THE HARA LINE. connecting these points energetically activates the hara line, from our id point (our universal purpose) to the soul seat (our purpose at present) to the earth’s hara.

begin with both your hands forming a triangle into your stomach - about three inches below your navel.

move to this position. make sure your hand is straight!

feel a line of energy flow down from your middle to the earth if you can, imagine it come from your perineum to the ground directly below. breathe deeply - through your mouth, if you have to, really.

assume this position, then raise your upper arm over your head where your id point would be. it’s okay if your arm won’t reach as far back as it should right now - it will eventually.

feel the energy connect between your tan tien, your soul seat and the earth. make sure you keep the line straight and feel the connection build.

THIS IS DIFFICULT. IT COULD TAKE SOME TIME.

CHILD’S POSE tbh i just like assuming this yoga pose whenever the heck i need to chill out but it’s also a very comforting and selfnurturing pose. you are close to the earth, and this position gives you the opportunity to breathe very deeply into the back of your torso. it is typically practised during the surya namaskar or after a headstand.

EFT BASICS

follow the tapping patterns (specified later). the reinforcement of tapping alongside a verbal affirmation will help you deal with your problem. repeat after me - THREE TIMES before you switch your tapping point:

EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THIS (INSERT PROBLEM - ITCHING, PAIN, ANXIETY, ETC., ETC.), I LOVE AND ACCEPT MYSELF. I LOVE AND ACCEPT MYSELF. I LOVE AND ACCEPT MYSELF.

WHAT IS EFT? EFT is psychological acupressure. it is based on energy meridians which transfer kinetic energy into certain meridians while you think about your problem and voice positive affirmations. this helps you clear the emotional block from your body, and rebalance your meridian. if you do not feel comfortable saying ‘i love and accept myself’, ‘i deeply and profoundly accept myself’ also works. i know it sounds a little patronising, but if you don’t feel comfortable claiming self love, find a verbal alternative that does work for you. you may need additional rounds of tapping to fully address an issue. a deep-rooted problem will not go away immediately. you may need to adjust your affirmation to say ‘even though i have SOME of this problem, i x and x myself.’ this changes to focus on the remainder of the problem.

1.the top of your head - the centre of your cranium, with your fingers back to back if you can. 2.on the inside of one eyebrow. 3.the bone on the outside of your eye. 4.an inch below one eye. 5.the philtrum. 6.the midway point between the base of your mouth and the bottom of the chin. 7.about four inches below the armpit. 8.the inside of the wrist. 9.the outside of your hand (a karate chopping motion - imagine one hand is the knife and the other is the chopping board, and ‘chop’ that way).
