We Did It!

5 Days of Flying Fun Over Spring Break

Congratulations to everyone who participated in making A Pirate Ball a smashing success. It was an awesome occasion, and we have deep appreciation for the many hands that made it so. From Board members to a host of other volunteers, including members of the Island School staff, cooperation, industry, and creativity were very much in evidence. The costumes and pirate actors added to the evening’s festivities. The remarks by our seniors, Gabe Figueroa and Joy Claypoole were quite moving, introducing the appeal for financial aid. At evening’s end, payments for and distribution of purchases took place, followed by clearing and cleanup that evening, the next day and into this week. It’s a huge job! Accountants, under the direction of Mike Goto, were working all day Sunday, as was a crew of Island School staff, faculty, parents and our Voyager volleyball team. Alan King and Lulu Schilleci were the chairpersons, assisted by 18 committees, from acquisitions to decor and slide-shows. After months
